- Benjamin (10/5): - Die Lage des Hotels ist top. Essen, Service auch. Zimmer etwas in die Jahre gekommen und recht teuer dafür. Aber man bezahlt hier wohl mehr für die Aussicht und Lage des Hotels.
- Alexandre (6/5): Breathtaking view but poor service - The view and the pool are amazing. The food is delicious. However the service is terrible. Waiters, receptionists, barman are very nice but not efficient at all. We had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks by the pool, 30 minutes for our wine bottle and 45 minutes for our first dish at the restaurant. There was no lotion in the room and after waiting for 45 minutes, it never arrived. We had to bring our luggages downstairs ourselves because the reception didn’t send the butler on time.
- Jennifer (10/5): - This was the perfect location to stay for a retreat and also for a day trip into Cinque Terre. We won’t get over being driven in a cart to and from the parking lot down a charming rock wall lined street. It’s the most magical entry to a hotel we’ve ever experienced. Their customer service is exceptional, going above and beyond in every way. We were greeted with a welcome drink and given complimentary DELICIOUS snacks by the pool. The view at breakfast was the best we experienced in all of Italy. Looking into the Ligurian sea was beautiful. The spa was wonderful and available to us to use privately for an hour when it was not in use. What a treat! Sauna, steam room relaxation areas with a freshly prepared treat made by the chef waiting for us. Two nights was not enough to enjoy this beautiful property! Laura gave us recommendations on how to enjoy Cinque Terre and local restaurants, plus graciously answered any of our questions. We loved meeting her!

- John (10/5): God’s grace - We had the unfortunate experience of having all our luggage stolen, our money stolen and our rental car broken into. Directly following that experience we arrived at your hotel 2:30 am in the morning . The staff went above and beyond to provide a lovely meal for us, drinks , essentials such as toothbrush, toothpaste and even facial Products. The next day they did their best to close up the broken window of our car all by their own volition. The hotel, food and service plus incredible view couldn’t be better. Thank you so much for restoring our trust in Italy and thereby allowing us the opportunity to stay and enjoy the country.

- Maude (8/5): - Bel hôtel en général, vue à couper le souffle! Belle chambre, lit confortable, salle de bain ont besoin d’une mise à niveau (minuscule douche, séchoir des années 1990). Pour ce qui est de la nourriture, c’était impeccable. Souper à la carte avec vue était un de nos meilleurs de nos vacances. Souper Golden hour, offert pour 50 euro par personne incluant le vin était basic mais bon rapport qualité prix. L’endroit est un peu difficile d’accès mais c’est génial pour la tranquillité. Pour ce qui est du service, nous sommes un peu embêté, à certain moment c’était excellent et d’autre un peu moins, par exemple au bord de la piscine le service aux chaises n’est pas fait de façon automatique, il faut le demander. À l’accueil, ça a été un peu long avant qu’on nous dirige vers nos chambres. Parcontre, on nous a bien conseillé pour les activités dans la région et tout le personnel était courtois et gentil.
- De Leus (10/5): - Zeer mooie ligging met prachtig zicht. Kamers waren ruim, badkamer was zeer basic (was toe aan renovatie) voor een 5 sterren hotel. Zeer goed en uitgebreid ontbijt.

Typically when you get the best room in an entire hotel they treat you extra well, not in this case. 1. There is NO on site parking. You have to park about a mile away and call the hotel for them to come pick you up in a golf cart because the streets to the hotel are too small for a car. I wish I had known this before going to the hotel as it took me a very frustrating 30min to find this out from the locals in town. 2. I like my room to be a little bit on the colder side and the air conditioning does not go below 19celcius at this hotel. I have travelled all over the world and never seen a hotel restrict the temperature this high and it was definitely not feeling like 19c in the room, more like 23c. Suffice to say I was tossing and turning all night sweating. After calling the front desk they told me it was italian law which was a lie since my hotels in both florence and rome had no issue going below 19. That all being said, the property is beautiful, the view is amazing and the food at the restaurant on site is top notch. If not for the air conditioning and parking situation it would get 5 stars from me. Because of the air conditioning issue alone I will never stay at this hotel again.

You will be picked up with a small electric car. Room is not worth 5 star qualification. Restaurant area, which was recently renewed, is beautiful and a big plus. Great breakfast and diner options at the hotel. Service in the restaurant was friendly and professional. Swimming pool also ok. Hospitality and service is nice, although the start, one week before we arrived (!) was far from showing respect for your clientele. They asked us upfront paying otherwise they were canceling the reservation + charging the full fee of the rooms for not showing up (we made a guaranteed booking through hotels.com). I made several calls with hotels.com to please the owner of the hotel…. Please remember that clients are free to choose! It was like entering a prison due to this experience ‘on distance’! Never had this experience, as frequent traveler, before.

It is a very quiet and romantic place with a nice swimming pool and a very good restaurant open for breakfast and diner. The only minor issue is that the parking is a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. You can call the hotel staff to pick you up in a sort of golf cart if you are feeling lazy. Overall a really gorgeous place.

Seules les salles de bain accusent un peu le coup et ne sont pas à la hauteur du reste des prestations très haut de gamme de cet hôtel. Pour résumer, nous avons passé un moment exceptionnel.

- Victor (6/5): Nice but not as advertised - This hotel has all the bones to be a great hotel, but it's not. Views are spectacular from the property and although everything else is well laid out, the lack of maintenance borderline ruins the experience. You have to park your car in town, call the hotel and they pick you up with a three wheeled cart. Quaint but slightly inconvenient and you'll need a cell phone. Easy walking around town but there isn't a whole lot in Montemercello. As mentioned, this place has the bones but it doesn't appear to be well managed. The staff don't appear happy and aren't always helpful - especially the "spa" "person". The pool wasn't very clean and the rooms were borderline clean - in most cases everything was just on the verge of not being cleaned or maintained. The Spa if you can call it that is really a joke to Mexican , North American, and I would guess most good European, standards. Most of the rooms like the sauna and steam rooms were shut down and there wasn't much else. To base your advertising off this feature was frankly disappointing and I would say misleading. The owner/manager or whoever he was - was not very polite, attentive, caring or helpful. He didn't even introduce himself but I heard someone call him the owner. The breakfast was pretty good but we did not eat there otherwise because the prices versus in town were outrageous. Lovely views and great location, but I wouldn't recommend this place.
- Karla (8/5): Relaxing stay, great views - We arrived to the beautiful Golfo Dei Poeti after a fun but hectic week in Rome and Florence with our two sons, 16 and 18. We all were happy to be in a relaxed environment in beautiful surroundings. I have a mixed feelings on the resort. On the positive, the setting is really lovely. We enjoyed hiking down to the black sand beach and exploring the rest of the area by car. The breakfast was amazing - many, many tasty items offered. However, the service at the hotel was not really up to the level of the room price. The spa was very limited - just really a steam and sauna room - this is not a "spa" resort. The rooms were nice, but because the pool and dining area have such lovely views, I don't think it is worth spending the extra $ on the "ocean view" It is more of a couples resort, or for very young children - ie babies. Its a very calm and relaxing place, not ideal for teens. We were ok because we left after breakfast and came back late at night. Overall, I would say it was a good stay, but not great.

Far from a 5 star hotel. The staff is GREAT. Only a few persons but all very nice & helpful. The only restaurant it's not great for dinner but good for breakfast. Not many services in the hotel. Not even a well filled minibar in the room. The overall experience is VERY GOOD. More like a GREAT B&B than a 5 Stars Hotel.
- joseph (10/5): Wonderful Hotel and Amazing Service - Can't say enough how wonderful our (too short) stay was at this lovely hotel. First, we were going to be driving in quite late, and I called to see when the restaurant would be open until. They told me if we arrived by 10 they would wait for us, and they did. They had the entire dining room open just for my husband and I. They didn't rush us, they explained the dishes, wine, menu, etc, and we had just a simply amazing meal. Our server was so wonderful, perfect service all around and we even got to thank the chef for staying late to accommodate us. The check in was super quick and we were shown to our very lovely room with balcony and water view. In the morning, there was of course wonderful cappuccino and a feast fit for royalty awaiting us. As it was my birthday, they even made me a super decadent chocolate torte and brought it out with a candle. We took walk around the beautiful property and take in the sun coming out from the clouds to light up the islands across the water. Simply gorgeous! There were many amenities that we weren't even able to take advantage of since we were just there shortly overnight. I plan to come back and take advantage of the rest for sure!

They provide by far the most delicious and extensive breakfast I've ever tasted, while the evening meals are a delight.The restaurant deserves awards, both for the food and the view of the sunset over the bay.

The nearby town is fairly small and very limited in terms of shopping (none) or restaurants (two) but the meals at Golfo Poeti are excellent. Dinner was great and we were equally pleased with the choices at breakfast. Everything was exceptional. We also asked for drinks and appetizers by the pool and were extremely impressed by the "can do" attitude and great food for what was a very last minute request. The Golfo Poeti staff didn't mind at all and went out of their way to make us comfortable.

The charming front desk people are fantastic. The host driving the shuttle is charming and the women in the spa are over the top. My Danniella that gave me a massage literally bonded with me. I love this place! The Gulf of Poets is serene and you will not be hit with a golf ball.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Great room and view is breathtaking but..... - much better room and nicer views than Porto Roca hotel in Monterossa which costs 3-4 X as much. breakfast is great. fortuantely we found someone in the car park who spoke englisjh and called the hotel or we would never have found it. the shuttle was broken but he hauled our luggage the 3 mintue walk to the hotel. the staff was very annoyed when i asked for coins for the parking meters which we learned do not take dollars or credit cards. there were no maps of Lerici and their directions for everything were pathetic- including when we asked how to get to the local beach.
- glenn (10/5): Incredible view and beautiful grounds. - Very new operation so Staff and owner were very keen to impress. Everything is new and fresh. Rooms were large. We had the deluxe sea view room and the view was really spectacular!! The only negative I would say is that montemarcello town is very small and so if you want to eat out you need to either eat at hotel or go to Lerici which is a 15 min drive/taxi ride.

Easy access to Carrara area and Lerici area - where we spent our 2 days. Used the ferry to Portevenerre and Cinque Terre. Great to see these from the water. Easy on/off to visit any town you like. The spa was the highlight of our trip. Great massages and wonderful assortment of showers, hot ribs and sauna/steam. A great luxury. I would definitely come back
- Joe (10/5): Tranquility at its finest - Golfo del Poeti is a gem. Sweeping views of the gulf, very attentive and friendly service, amazing food, complimentary spa treatments, and great amenities. This place is hidden up in the hills which is an adventure to get to and you must have a car. It is 20K from La Spezia making day trips to Cinque Terre very easy. The town of Montemarcello is quaint and worthy to explore as well.
- marlene jimenez (8/5): fantasitc view -close to Cirque terre - we had a wonderful view of La Spezia gulf , the breakfast was ok ,the cappuccinos were excellent. room was very spacious but a/c did not cool the room. there are limited signs about the hotel when you finally reach the top . the GPS will not pick it up . you must call them once you get to the front of the Locanda della Nonna restaurant . because the street is right next it to it but not reachable by car.they do have secure parking nearby.the mini bar at the room is free but at the lobby you must pay for anything you eat. shower had hot water. the only setback is the smell of cat urine outside when you are walking to your rooms .there are many cats next door to the hotel . overall its a good place to stay , especially if you will be going to Cirque Terre .
