- Robert (9/5): - Position
- susan (9/5): Comfortable and relaxing - Excellent breakfast, brilliant staff, and the dog came too.
- Adam (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyable stay in this classic seaside hotel on the hillside - Lovely, quiet location with great view, perfect for the Great Orme and town centre. Delicious cooked breakfast plus croissants, yogurt, fruit and cereals. Staff very friendly and helpful A little tired around the edges, but nothing a lick of paint wouldn't sort out
- Andrew (9/5): Will stay again - Lovely hotel in nice location
- nicola (10/5): Recent stay - Excellent value for money.
Room clean, bed comfortable.
Breakfast really good.
Views amazing
Staff friendly Needed a wider selection of drinks behind bar
- Bernadette T (10/5): - Excellent service. Thanks
- Karen (10/5): Old world charm and beautiful features, lovely for dogs, tasty breakfast and lovely lady who served it - View was amazing, very dog friendly, breakfast was yummy Parking was a bit difficult with cars behind each other unable to go back out after they had parked
- Glenn (10/5): We had a great. enjoyable stay - Breakfast was fantastic with a great selection. The room was spotless with a four poster bed and a great view. The staff were very helpful . The treck to the hotel was a bit steep but manageable
- David (8/5): - Hotel good. Breakfast very nice. Could do with some updating but it is a period property. Nothing really
- Rachel (9/5): Perfect for a short stay, would stay here again - Friendly staff, very clean and beautiful setting Bed was a bit small for us but we are used to a king size bed.
- Terry (7/5): Pleasant stay beautiful breakfast - Breakfast Nothing
- Ian (10/5): Great service. - Scenery from the hotel, staff hospitality Room was a bit small but spotless.
- Gerd (9/5): Hotel in Toplage, mit gutem Frühstücksangebot - Aussichtsreichstes Hotel im Ort, alt, aber gemütlich. —
- Ingrid (9/5): Amazing views - liked where the hotel was nice and quiet lovely terrace outside where you could have a drink ,not far from cable cars ,fantastic view think they could do with a few more high tables in the breakfast area where it is dog friendly low tables are not suitable for eating at breakfasts times
- Elaine (10/5): - A lovely place to stay. Near the Great Orme
- Angelstar (10/5): 24 hours in Llandudno! - The views, the rooms were quaint and spotless Nothing
- David (8/5): - Great views over Landduno The big hill upto the hotel
- Hitchen (8/5): - The location. Next to parkland and ideal for a dog owner. The views from the front and our bedroom window. The friendly Moldovan receptionist. The breakfasts which were the best we have had in a hotel. Parking could be an issue. Only two tables in the dog friendly area for breakfast, which meant people had to wait for one to come free, whereas the main breakfast room was only half used. Need to put in extra tables for dog owners.
- Ian (10/5): -
- Christine (8/5): very relaxing - very friendly staff, good room, very clean nothing
- Timea (8/5): -
- Paula (8/5): - The location was great, right next to the hill where I could walk my dog. Views were great too. The food served at breakfast was tasty and appreciated that they provided a sausage each day for my dog All the stairs. Also the hill up to hotel.
- Gale (10/5): Can’t wait to get back - Staff are lovely the place is very clean and quiet Nothing

Great breakfast
Staff helpful
- Cristina (9/5): -
- jeffrey (8/5): - Second visit here, location good, staff friendly and helpful, good options for vegetarian breakfasts, reasonable places to park.
- Joseph (8/5): -
- Graham (7/5): Great location and proximity to beach. Insufficient car parking. - The hotel and room were good condition and staff pleasant. Good breakfast choice in morning between contiental and standard. View from the hotel and proximity to beach was great. Car parking provision is not great. 3 car parking spaces for the whole hotel and then you need to drive around all the adjacent streets for a parking space. In the end we ended up parking in the multi-storey within the town. Worth noting there is no lift so if you had heavy luggage or mobility impairment then you would struggle.
- STEVEN (8/5): Beautiful building and and a great staff - The hotel is situated overlooking Llandudno. The terrace is a beautiful place to sit with a drink and watch the world go by. The staff were friendly and informative. The breakfast was cooked to order and the portions were ample. The building itself is full of character and faded grandeur which adds to the ambience. All of my party expressed a desire to return in the future The only thing that irked us and it is only a miniscule comment and that is there was no local ale on offer and in the listing it does mention cask ale. This in no way blemished what was an enjoyable couple f days
- Angela (8/5): - The view from the room was very good, Breakfast was really good nice hotel and good seating area outside with a good view noise from room next door walls seemed thin
- Shane (10/5): Good breakfast and comfortable stay - Great sea views and fantastic location
- Cav (10/5): Lovely little hotel - Lovely building
- Dave (7/5): Great two day break in an excellent location. - The hotel is as we remembered from nearly 46 years ago when we stayed on honeymoon. Breakfast room and view were all good. Beds were extremely comfy. Surprised there was no lift, so as we were on the second floor, carrying our case upstairs was a challenge. And from our perspective it was disappointing that you accommodated dogs - one in particular was very stinky. Whilst every effort was made to keep dogs out of the dining room and bar area, it is beyond the hotel's control to keep dogs off bedroom furnishings and linen.
Also shower gel/shampoo were in short supply - two sachets between two of us for two days?
- Karen (9/5): -
- Gary (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Karen (9/5): -
- mark (9/5): - Great location overlooking Llandudno the breakfast wuz brilliant our room wuz large & clean & had a balcony overlooking the bay 😊👍💯 go back again NOTHING
- Vincent (9/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): A decent first visit to Llandudno - A good breakfast and the staff were friendly. The rooms were clean although somewhat cramped but overall it was good value for money and the rooms seemed secure.
- Donna (5/5): - The terrace at room 27 was nice, but could do with a it off tlc No shelf in the shower. Beside lamps could do with replacing the shade they where tatty. Very their was a draught from the bedroom door. Bedsize needs to be explained when booking as kingsize would off been more suitable.
- Joanne (10/5): -
- June (10/5): A brilliant time staying at the hotel. Our little dog enjoyed it too. - Although it was up a very steep hill and up stairs to our room we had a lovely stay. Staff were very friendly and the choice and quality of the breakfasts were fantastic! Did not like the material around our four poster bed, looked like something out of a scary movie! The bed was very comfy though.
- Lynda (9/5): Lovely stay - Wonderful breakfast . Staff were lovely . Amazing views of the sea . Nice stained glass windows around and seating areas . Spotlessly clean . Need a welcome book in the bedroom with wifi password , etc, . Window a bit noisy with the wind.
Steep hill to b&b but parking was okay .
- Andrea (10/5): -
- David (8/5): - Hotel was in a lovely position overlooking the pier.h The breakfast wasn't very nice
- Grant (9/5): - View from room, breakfast was excellent, staff fabulous, free parking. Location is brilliant. Nothing
- Mike (9/5): Quiet, relaxing and comfortable. - Location and views fantastic, perfect little single room for me being a solo traveller, was my 2nd time staying here, i will be back a couple more times this year, and have recommended this to friends. Was perfect for me, but probably not advisible for guests with mobility issues.
- Rosemary (10/5): -
- Beverley (9/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): -
- Janet (9/5): Relaxing stay in a beautiful and convenient spot - Lots of choice in the buffet. Catered for our children really well. Nothing
- Kate (10/5): - Location was excellent
Free parking
Loved the views and the old fashioned decor was lovely
Nice breakfast
- Andrew (10/5): Lovely easter break - Lovely hotel, friendly staff, looked after us breakfast was exceptional 👌
Great location for the great orme. The only minus for us was it was at the top of a hill then 2 flights of stairs to our room. The hill
- Lisa (10/5): - Location is excellent.Lady who cleaned ,did reception and served breakfast very friendly. All the bits you need for a short stay provided. The walk up the hill takes some getting used to but it was worth it when the weather is good.
- Jenny (10/5): Great location - Brilliant location! Staff were very friendly, room comfortable and breakfast outstanding, great value for money Nothing
- hart (1/5): - The view from the window Food- Was awful. My husband had a bad stomach from the breakfast and the second day we didnt even go down for breakfast. We came home early.
Hospitality- Very poor. We left hanging sign on door for clean towels, coffee and milk. Returned to room nothing had been done. Staff were not helpful, had to ask numerous of times for things and he said he didnt understand. We asked for recommendations for evening food and deliveries he couldn't give me any. There was no leaflets around in the hotel for this.
Cleanliness was appalling. Never have i ever stayed somewhere and it been like this, even the smells.
Prices- when booked it's was £220.00 when we arrived at the hotel they charged another £10.00 then said we had to get intouch with booking.com to ask why.
From start to finish it was a disaster and spent more outside the hotel, We didnt feel relaxed, we did most things ourselves there like asking to go outside and we set our own furniture up as there was no where to sit, we bought coffee and milk because none was put into the room, and 2 fresh clean towels. We have taken pictures for proof.
We will not let this go nor will we be returning.
- Paul (7/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely old building with a wonderful view of Llandudno Bay.
Very comfortable bed. A very small bathroom with an even smaller shower cubicle (without anywhere to put toiletries).
- Del (6/5): Ok - The decor or the hotel was amazing. Breakfast was good. With varied choice. Great views. TV didn't work. Room was way too small . Should be reflected in price. Windows to view promenade at breakfast need a good clean. Cars parked very close to entrance steps.
- Dale (8/5): Very enjoyable would stay again - Very good breakfast. Full English and piping hot.
- Nathan (5/5): Not great value, but has great potential. - The location is great. Short walk to the main part of the town, and great views from the top where the hotel is. Also a great ice cream bar a very short walk further on the hill from the hotel. The room was nicely decorated in a Victorian style, but the bathroom was still modern. If you’re expecting a modern hotel this is not what you are looking for.
The room was spotless, and the bed was moderately comfy, about what you’d expect for a 3 star hotel. When we arrived, we were met with unprofessionalism. We arrived early but wanted to pay on arrival and then go about our day before later checking in. We rang the bell, as it says to do, and were met with a member of staff shouting from upstairs, who was very blunt and told us we were too early and that the rooms were not ready (which we were already aware of, but we simply wanted to pay). However, one of the members of the housekeeping team (a different staff member) were very polite and pleasant.
Some of the reviews state that the breakfast is outstanding. I’m unsure if those people have ever had a cooked breakfast before. The sausage is a chip shop sausage and inedible, it does not belong on a cooked breakfast, or anywhere for that matter. It was disgusting. The egg was clearly a caged egg, the tomato was rank, the mushrooms were poor, the beans were pretty tasteless and there was no black pudding. However, the fried bread was decent, bacon was nice and the hash brown was alright. The continental breakfast was not very wide in selection, but what was there was nice. So the breakfast is very fixable, but nonetheless a shame.
The £15 dog charge per stay would be understandable, except the dog is not allowed in all areas of the hotel anyway, so you pay to be excluded from parts of the hotel, meaning you eat your breakfast in a separate, colder area. As our dog doesn’t shed, it’s also slightly annoying, as the dog is not creating any greater a mess and the rooms are being cleaned nonetheless.
Parking situation isn’t great, but there is not really anything the hotel can do about that. Perhaps a parking allocation system on a first come first serve basis would be better to avoid guests being blocked in.
Overall, the hotel has good potential, but for £280 for 2 nights for 2 people and a dog in a basic twin room, it did not feel good value for money at all. I have stayed at 4/5 star hotels on the mainland for much less, so it definitely felt like a rip off.
- Lisa (7/5): - Location was good Breakfast is a little early
- Amie (9/5): Great hotel for a family break - Great hotel in the perfect location. Staff were all polite. Breakfast was very tasty and plenty available. Nothing.
- Sheila (9/5): - Comfy beds and great breakfast
- MONSTER MINI (9/5): - Lovely view looking over the pier The weather and location was great
- bridget (10/5): - Friendly staff and great breakfast!
Room was lovely with an amazing view! N/a
- Elizabeth (8/5): Wonderful location, our room was in the tower and the view was incredible. Breakfast was great as it was all cooked to o - Incredible location looking across the bay.
Very comfortable rooms. It's not a dislike, as everything was spotlessly clean, but the bathroom was quite dated. It's tricky to get a modern bathroom into such a beautiful old building, but that's the only reason I took one point off.
- Keran (8/5): Brilliant weekend. - A great old Hotel. Room furnishings are a little tired. The staff are lovely and they are loyal as we have seen the same staff over a period of years.
Sometimes parking can be difficult it is high up on the Orme and a dead end.
This is a favourite hotel for us, clean , afordable, great views at breakfast
- Janis (5/5): -
- Roland (8/5): - Beautiful views A bit cold in the room
- Marion (10/5): Absolutely loved this place we will be going back - Loved it Great location
- Lesley (10/5): A fantastic place to stay. - It is a beautiful building with all the original features . Lots of space to sit and read or chill out most with spectacular views.
The staff are really friendly and everywhere is clean and welcoming.
Our room had sea views and it was wonderful to watch the changing weather and the sea.
The breakfast was quality produce freshly cooked to order and was absolutely delicious .
We will definitely be returning soon as we could only stay one night but hopefully we will be able to return for a longer stay. Nothing.
- Daphne (9/5): Staff were really nice breakfast was delicious. Parking not brilliant but overall we had a lovely time - The views Parking was a bit awkward
- Claire (5/5): Clean but a little disappointing - It was very clean and most of the staff were professional and polite. The building is very old, and the decor reflects this, some of which is in keeping. The breakfast was good, a good selection in the buffet and the cooked breakfast was traditional and you could request which items you wanted. The staff work hard to work on reception and serve drinks in the bar, as well as serve breakfast. We found it easy to park outside, on the road or in the parking spaces outside reception. The outside of the building is not as clean and white as the photograph provided. There is a sign outside advertising a restaurant, but they only do breakfast in the hotel.
The bedroom we had was dark, made worse by the pretend 4 poster bed, which was a dark wooden frame around a divan bed, which my husband kept knocking himself on. Some of the decor needs updating. The wallpaper in the dining room has scrapes and is peeling off in places.
- Paul (9/5): Lovely clean conveinient place to stay in Llandudno - Loved the hotel and our room had a terrace. Breakfast was excellent and staff all very polite. The hotel was having some plumbing work done when we arrived and had no water but no issues as was back on when we returned to the room. No issues with parking. Had a lovely walk around the Orm and greeted by the goats in the morning. All good
- Alison (7/5): - Location, staff The breakfast wasn't as good as our last visit 13 months ago
- Nora Rea (9/5): -
- Sue (10/5): Perfect. Hope to book again for next year but so far it’s not showing on the app - The vintage feel, cleanliness, location , views. In honesty there was nothing not to like. Absolutely nothing. Loved it!
- Tilly (10/5): Very professionally run hotel - Brilliant location
- Lindy.P (8/5): - Breakfast amazing and views Dusty & very dated
- Sarah-Jane (8/5): Great short break - Great location and views, breakfast really good The hotel needs a bit of a tidy up regarding decorating and maintenance
- Christina (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay.
- Pamela Colley (9/5): - Having visited the Hotel years ago under the previous owner, we were presently surprised to see it had retained it's charm and Katie the new manger was very helpful and accommodating, assisting in all our requirements.
Wishing Katie and team all the best for the future.
- Mark (7/5): - Location
Staff
Breakfast Rooms need updating
- Liz (8/5): A delightful stay in an old world hotel. Very pleasant and comfortable and outstanding views! - The situation and the views were wonderful
- jenny (9/5): - The location the staff were great Walking up the hill
- Paul (9/5): A fantastic place. Will definitely return. - Very nice clean room with a fantastic view, especially of the sunrise. Comfy bed, good tea making facilities and a good clean bathroom. Free parking on site or nearby on the road. Lovely well cooked breakfast and helpful friendly staff. Nothing of note
- J (10/5): Fantastic sea view and comfortable room - Great location with fantastic sea view. Parking was a bonus too
- Patrick (8/5): -
- Elsa (9/5): -
- Andy (1/5): - Nothing Everything
- Jonathan (8/5): -
- Barry (9/5): Very pleasant weekend! - Warm welcome, friendly staff, great views from location, very close to town, for easy access. Excellent breakfast, with efficient service. Cosy and pleasant furniture and decor. Parking facilities not great, but to be expected, so not a major problem. Pillows a bit too firm, for my taste.
- Jane (5/5): - The building was beautiful. The staff were nice.room small and dark. Very hot heating on all the time .some of the decor was very tiered. Breakfast fantastic. Very good value and a marvellous position. To hot, to dark, very small bedroom and shower room.
- Sarah (10/5): Brilliant place to stay ! Highly recommended! - Everything! Friendly , comfortable rooms , amazing view , brilliant breakfast , great location ! Nothing ! All 7 of us who stayed loved it !
- Nicky (9/5): -
- Lesley (10/5): Wonderful stay - It was comfortable, friendly, fantastic hotel. We felt at home and will definitely go back. The hill took our breath away but it was worth it.
- Kat (10/5): -
- Anne (6/5): Breakfast was amazing - Our room was more like a cupboard but it was clean you virtually had to close the bathroom door to get in it and it was difficult to get in the bath without standing on the toilet. But the view was amazing. The walk up and down to the front was difficult if you had bad knees The hill up and down
