- Mekonnen (10/5): It’s really worth it to stay in this hotel. - First of all the location, the view, the Restaurant, the live band even in the morning the breakfast everything was perfect ! Only the parking garage is a little bit tight to In-N-Out and the passenger elevator is too busy. It’s because of there is a lot of function in the hotel.
- 342edenk (2/5): Loud Music Ruined the Entire Experience - Amazing view and really good food, but the experience was ruined by the extremely loud DJ setup in such a compact space. My date and I could barely hear each other speak, and we even left with headaches. We asked the manager if the volume could be lowered, but the DJ was dismissive and refused to adjust it. The atmosphere felt more like a cramped club than a lounge, and the service did not match hotel standards either. Disappointing, because the place itself has so much potential.

- Callum (10/5): I made some wonderful memories in a place unfamiliar and by the end of my trip it started to feel like home, thank you. - The comfortability of the property, was soon as I was there it felt safe and comfortable, and soon after spending a few days it was just a relief to finally get back to the room, the ambiance of the 360 skybar and the breakfast lounge was unbelievable and I enjoyed it very much, I’m blessed to say I stayed there and I plan on returning again, I was in such a rush I forgot thank the staff, so I’d love to thank them all again properly. The only thing I would say is the showers were rather cold, but refreshing compared to the heat. I can’t say there was a thing I didn’t like, it was all amazing

Animation sur le rooftop en soirée. J’avais réservé la navette entre l’aéroport et l’hôtel, confirmé par message. À mon arrivée il n’y avait personne, le chauffeur d’un autre hôtel a pu appeler le Monarch et j’ai attendu +30 minutes que la navette arrive. Les chambres sont mal isolées et on entend tous les bruits extérieurs en soirée. Ça ne m’empêche pas de dormir mais prévoir des bouchons d’oreilles pour ceux au sommeil léger.

I meet him in the elevator returning back for having found the kitchen closed, Joseph asks me if I had had breakfast and I told him that they had let me back because it was closed and he accompanied me in person and let me serve breakfast as agreed in the direction best regards Alessio

The reception team especially Hiwot, Hermela, Bethlehem, Tsedey, Yordanos and Bitaniya were welcoming professional and efficient, making check in smooth and stress-free. The overall hospitality was excellent, with staff consistently friendly and attentive throughout my two-weeks stay. I was also impressed with the breakfast which offered a good variety of both local and international options. Everything was fresh and tasty, the dining area was clean and comfortable area. Overall, I highly recommend Monarch Hotel for its excellent service, warm hospitality and quality breakfast.

- Ralf (5/5): Low Budget Hotel für short trips whith underground comfort but good breakfast - Central location within walking distance of the Piazza or the Merkato (about 15 minutes each) Spacious suite with an open-concept kitchen, large bathroom, and separate bedroom. The mattress is firm but comfortable for me. Good, varied breakfast (including fresh omelets, fruit, vegetables, salads, granola, hot dishes, juice, cake, bread, etc.) on the top floor (13th floor) with a 270-degree view of the surrounding construction sites. I can't understand the good ratings of this hotel. The airport pickup was forgotten despite a written request and confirmation. After a reminding call and another 45min a driver showed up in a completely run-down small car Other hotels pick up guests in representaitive minibuses. The hotel is in a dilapidated state; it has obviously not been renovated, either inside or out, for at least 30 years. The pictures on the internet are misleading. The hotel is located in an unattractive construction area.. Consequently, there is constant noise and increased nuisance from exhaust fumes from generators and trucks until 3.00pm at night. The hotel bill must be paid fully in advance. Thus, no possibility of a refund for deficiencies or a last-minute departure. The room/suite is showing its age. Gray curtains, gray walls, loose faucet in the sink, dresser not levelled, so some drawers stay open all the time. Little natural light throughout the suite, as the dark curtains cannot be pulled very far to the sides of the windows and the windows are tinted. The TV is not working. Only cold and not drinking water in the bathroom and the shower. Thus you need a lot of bottled water for tooth brushing. Several Internet cuts for more than 30min a day. The reception staff are overly friendly but dismissive when complaints are raised. Everyone pretends they’re going to do something about it, but nothing ever happens

- Carlos (9/5): Great staff, good location, good food and the views are spectacular! - The breakfast was excellent, good variety of dishes, but what made it great was the staff, after a couple of days they remembered my name and my preferences. The manager, Joseph did an outstanding job. It was beyond their control, there was construction with heavy machinery going on at all hours of the day and night. They need more staff in the evenings, as the restaurant and bar gets really busy. One evening, the restaurant had to close, but they reopened in the AM, however, they should have notified the guests.

The location is very central and convenient, and everyone from the front desk to room service provided excellent service. - 860yiweih (10/5): 7 day stay at Monarch in addis - my friend and i stayed for 7 days at Monarch Parkview in Addis visiting various museums and parks. the rooms are comfortable. the wifi is generally reliable, allowing streaming of TV shows and Zoom meetings. the area has a lot of construction - but this hopefully will make it more comfortable in the future. the breakfast is a standout! fresh papaya and watermelon, great coffee, and a selection of cooked vegetables, beans, fir fir, etc. the ladies at the omelette station are amazing. Joseph the supervisor was always present making sure things were running smoothly. and what could be better than to have breakfast and coffee while on a rooftop lounge, viewing the buildings of Addis.

The hotel has a lovely atmosphere — lots of green plants, tasteful furniture, and a very welcoming vibe overall. A special highlight is the 360 Lounge on the rooftop. The view from up there is fantastic and makes the evenings especially enjoyable. My room was clean and everything worked perfectly, so no complaints at all. The service in general is excellent — the staff really seem to read every wish from your lips. I want to mention Supervisor Yoseph Dereje, who stood out in particular. Professional, friendly, and always attentive — outstanding service from him. Highly recommended for anyone staying in the area!

It seems over priced for the service they offer the only thing that was amazing is the staff , very helpful polite and they go out of their ways to make our stay better. The restaurant staff ( when we went to eat breakfast) can do better the waiter was just lovely the manager came to offer us if we needed anything but it felt like forcefully no smile or polite.

- susan (10/5): Just About Perfect Accommodations - The location is super. Room quiet & sturdy. Staff could not be better. Spectacular. Able to get Vegan selections in the restaurants. Surprising extras like 2 bottles of spring water free each day. Security great. Taxis cheap, history abounds. Near the first cinema/movie theater in all of Africa, and a lot of other firsts to be proud of. Cheaper than at home for the days; affordable.
