Le concept est original et charmant : notre chambre, aménagée dans un ancien box de l’écurie, était spacieuse, lumineuse, joliment décorée et très confortable. Le petit-déjeuner, simple, était néanmoins très bon.

- Broccolius (9/5): - Excellent location near the Brussels East ring in the Zonienwoud/Foret de soignes and railway station. To my happy surprise, there was no noise from highway or railway (renewed sound barriers?). Easy parking. Friendly reception, spacy room with bathtub (our wish could be realized). Lobby with books and self service "honesty" bar well stocked with regional belgian beers. Excellent breakfast. Explanations of the things to visit in the grape growing area of Hoeilaart and in the Forest. I would have like to stay a little longer, to discover the surrounding area. I hope to have the chance to come back and to enjoy a similar quality of reception!

- Yamina (7/5): - Ideale locatie voor wandelingen. Vriendelijk onthaal en personeel. Weinig sfeer en gezelligheid. Ook de kamer voelde wat koud aan, omwille van het weer konden we ook niet buiten zitten. We zagen een hot tub en sauna maar die werkten jammer genoeg niet.

- Christina (10/5): I wholeheartedly recommend Hippo-droom to anyone in need of a relaxing stay. - The location is what prompted me to book at Hippo-droom. Out in nature and surrounded by forests and lakes but still within a short distance from the airport. I was looking for R&R time to de-stress and find peace of mind. Hippo-droom did not disappoint. The walks in the Sonien forest and surrounding area proved cathartic and invigorating. Had I stayed longer than 5 days, I would have hired a bicycle for broader exploration. The villages in the environs were cute and friendly. There is a museum right by Hippo-droom and worth exploring. The rooms are large, clean and welcoming, with your own patio. The breakfasts were delicious and satisfying. Davy and Ilse were fabulous hosts - so accomodating and gregarious. They went out of their way to help me and to make my stay extra-pleasant. I shall definitely return there if I am ever in Belgium again. I wasn't expecting to hear the trains at night, but after the second night I didn't even hear them anymore.

- G_S_66 (8/5): Leuke overnachting voor een paar dagen fietsvakantie in het Zoniënwoud. - De locatie en het concept hebben ons bekoord. Sauna, hottub,... waren aanwezig maar buiten gebruik.
- Jacomijn (9/5): - Very nice small b&b in the Sonian forest. Great place for walks in nature and to escape the city but also in proximity of the city. Lovely breakfast with fresh bread and pastries and the owners are also nice.
- Cor (8/5): Netjes en schoon heerlijk in de bossen. - Mooie locatie bosrijk, ff na de drukte tot rust komen. Kamers zijn schoon en vriendelijke eigenaren. feedback die ik wil geven: is dat als je langer dan 1 dag verblijft dat er wel wat meer variatie in het ontbijt mag zijn.

- Catharina (9/5): - De locatie, prachtig gelegen met een geweldig groot Arboretum op 2 min.lopen met een grote afgezette honden uitloop, waar onze honden dankbaar gebruik van hebben gemaakt. Honden mochten mee in de ontbijt ruimte, maar ook buiten was er een mooi terras waar we met mooi weer ook gebruik van hebben gemaakt. Ontbijt prima en we konden ook zelf nog drankjes halen later op de avond. Hele aardige vriendelijke mensen. We hadden een mooie ruime junior suite, was alleen vrij donker, maar werd weer totaal goed gemaakt door de grote tuin achter , die we deze keer helemaal voor ons zelf hadden , maar eventueel ook met 4 kamers hadden kunnen delen......

- Morgane (4/5): Non recommandé - L'emplacement pas très loin de Bruxelles. L'hôtel se trouve en bordure de forêt, cadre sympa. Petit déjeuner buffet varié. Chambre réservée pour 3 adultes. Il est indiqué 2 canapés lits et 1 lit double (donc 1 lit chacun parfait). A l'arrivée il n'y a qu'un seul canapé lit et 1 lit double. Nous le signalons au propriétaire, pour lui c'est normal dans ces chambres là il n'y a que 4 couchages. Même en lui montrant l'annonce où c'est écrit noir sur blanc, pour lui il n'y a pas de soucis, à la limite de nous prendre pour des idiots ("vous voyez bien la taille de la chambre, je ne peux pas y mettre 3 lits!). Nous lui conseillons de changer l'annonce, clairement il s'en moque (je trouve après coup des commentaires de plus de 1 an avec le même problème donc l'annonce n'a pas été changée!). Chambre sombre et mal isolée (on entend les voisins et le train passe à côté). Le lit double est confortable par contre le canapé lit une catastrophe (mauvaise nuit assuré). En bref au vu du prix élevé, de la qualité de la chambre et de l'amabilité du proprio (pas du tout arrengeant, ne prend même pas la peine de nous demander si tout s'est bien passé car je pense qu'il s'en moque), passez votre chemin.

Confirmé par Booking. On n’a eu qu’un grand canapé lit pour 2 personnes. Impossible de prendre un bain, la bond ne fonctionnait pas et était hors service. Chambre sombre à cause des petites fenêtres.

We were able to get breakfast even though we were almost too late. We could hear guests staying next door to our room.

- Kimberley (10/5): Countryside feeling in a big city. - For us this was a great location on the edge of the forest, with easy access to the ring road and Rhode St Genese. Used to be part of horse farm/stable, so lots of unique character and very comfortable rooms in former stalls. The owner explained ongoing improvements for even more comfort. Free parking available on site. We took a daily walk on trails in the forest, which was lovely.

Then booked me into an inferior hotel. - I arrived to be told they had no room for me and booked me in at an alternative hotel despite haveing a confirmed booking via booking.com. As a lone traveller I had specifically booked this location because it looked friendly and safe in a lovely location. They booked me into hotel Groenendaal 5 minutes away. The alternative room was pleasant but the location was awful next to the railway station and a building site. No where other than my room to sit (no terrace as would have had at original hotel). No breakfast so i had to drive back to the original hotel. All very stressful and could have easily been avoided with an email or message to me.

- King (7/5): Never going to stay here ever!! - It was clean. The guy behind the counter was really nasty. We booked a room with one double bed and two sofa beds. There was only one sofa bed. I told him I was very disappointed. It was 4 pm and the room wasn’t even prepared (no bed sheets on the sofa bed or in the room). I looked into the restaurant and some tables still had dirty dishes from breakfast or lunch. He told me he rather wanted to have happy guests so offered us some random hotel to stay over there and 17 euro’s in cash. Why would I trust his opinion on that hotel!

- Pēteris (10/5): Relaxing after days of work/office in the city. - Being in a middle of the forest/park only 20 min from Brussels center. perfect for relaxing after full day of work in the city offices. Staying outside of the city for work was an experiment - and a successful one thanks to the location, welcome and breakfast facilities at the B&B. No grocery stores in the area - do you groceries in the city/before arriving.
