- 647beckier (8/5): Clean, safe and caring! - This clean friendly inn is a great place for your family and pets. Close to shopping, main roads and caring staff. We enjoyed the fun times around the campfire in central yard. Come stay a night, week or montb. They will take wonderful care of you!
- lorihM3805AT (4/5): Locals Recommend Other Options - It's too bad you can't ask locals in advance where to stay in a location you've never been to. While we were there, we mingled with the locals as we were in and around town. All sadly shook their head when we shared where we were staying and said there was much better despite the efforts to remodel this establishment. In all fairness, the room was 'clean' meaning the bed was very nice and comfortable, floors weren't dirty. But despite renovations, it could use some work. My first clue was the woman that came out of her home to the office to check us in. I guess they don't see a need to renovate the office or be more kept up where the first impression takes place. The shower was in dire need of a spray down with Tilex and could use some re-caulking. There was a dusty/fuzz coated large bathroom fan above the shower but I'm usure what it was for as there was no 'fan' for the bathroom. The floors were always cold. There is no kleenex, only two pods of coffee for 2 people for 2 days. There's no hair dryer and when I asked about it, I was robotcally told "Sorry, there isn't one and we don't have irons either." The towels and washcloths are thin and cheap. No shelf in the shower. They may have renovated but they cut corners and did so with the least expense possible. Just a few things would have made a difference: quality washcloths and towels, a sink that drains (that I don't have to clean and fix myself), a box of tissue, make a hair dryer available by request (could charge a fee if not returned), more pods of coffee (like I was about to ask with the careless attitude I was given) for those staying more than a night, hand towel/washcloth ring/racks by the sink. Since there was no hotel tissues, we just used up the toilet paper and no hair dryer? Okay - I cranked up the heat unit and did so until my hair was properly dried. Cutting corners really doesn't save you money. Also, when there's only two rooms rented, why do you have to put them right beside each other so the party animals that come back at 2 in the morning wake you up. Yes, there are other places to stay in Salmon and rest assured, we will go with local recommendations and not stay here again.
- craigmN7569AC (10/5): Small town hospitality - It was an amazing experience with an amazing staff. Reading some of the negative reviews I was concerned but it definitely exceeded my expectations. It is a small town and very family oriented. It was awesome to see the manager (Rachel) prioritizing guest accommodations and the best small town hospitality. Everyone there were great, we had an issue with our room and the handyman (George) took care of it immediately. Rooms were clean with a good smell (sometimes hard to find) and loved seeing the wildlife (deer) hanging out around the property. It had a comfortable “like home” atmosphere and we would definitely stay here again. Already looking forward to our next vacation in Salmon.

- Holly (6/5): - Motel is right on a main road, but not road noisy. Easy check in; the room was clean; the linens and bed comfortable. We were there two nights but stocked with 2 only coffee pods - using a nice "nespresso" machine. Small motel fridge and microwave included. Very convenient. Shower was good and the bathroom clean. The TV was able to be cast to so we could watch what we wanted at night. (NOTE: future guests, be sure to sign out of the TV before leaving) There's a popular place next door for order and grab meals, to eat there or to go. We went elsewhere to have a beer with our dinner. As it was the 4th's weekend the motel host/manager had a family and friends get together complete with fireworks in the courtyard outside the room. (There is a grill; you'll have to request it.) Host was friendly and gave recommendations! Salmon has a few choices and price ranges so this motel fit the bill for a casual weekend. (Pay no mind to the reviews suggesting you can buy breakfast or any meal - them's the old days!) Door security deadbolt didn't latch so check your door upon check in. Would stay again if the occasion occurs.
- Rosemarie (10/5): Wonderful motel! - Great motel! Our room was huge, super clean and modern. It was in a quiet area. You can easily drive to Main street where there are nice places to have dinner. Just don't miss eating breakfast at the Savage Grill right beside the motel. It was delicious!

- K3605BMchelseak (10/5): Come as Strangers, Leave as Family - Sacajawea Inn has by far been one of the most unforgetable experiences that I have had while staying at a hotel/motel/Inn. My Fiance' and I were working a fire in the nearby Salmon-Challis NF, and Sacajawea Inn was the perfect mid point for us to settle after a long day of work. From the moment we met Rachel; she made us feel welcome, that no need was above asking for if she was able to accomodate it, and even went so far as to whip up some delicious dinners for my Fiance' and I when she'd prepare dinner for her family in the lobby kitchen. There were so many laughs, stories, and friendships shared in that lobby due to Rachel's incredible outpouring of love and consideration for her patrons. After a little over a month of stay at the Inn; Rachel, her Husband George, and her daughter Kyrsten (who is the phenomenal Housekeeper) became like a second family to us. The incredible amount of work and passion this family has in this Inn shows from the moment you walk through their door, to the day you check out. Thank you Rachel, George, & Kyrsten for welcoming us into your family, and making our stay with you such a memorable one. Now we know we have a home away from home in Salmon Idaho, at Sacajawea Inn ♡

- Justin (10/5): - The on-site manager needs a raise. I would say she is solely responsible for getting the absolute best out of what she has to work with. She is very welcoming and will do whatever is necessary to improve your stay. It is apparent the property is making improvements and updates, but it is still rather old. Despite that, the two rooms that I rented were absolutely spotless and the beds were very comfortable.

I called the office and told them I wanted to cancel. She then said she could upgrade us, but earlier that was the only room. I told her I was going to another hotel. She said they would contact the owner and issue a refund. When I followed up on the refund a few days later they then said it wasn’t refundable.

However, a man who I believe lives there is extremely noisy and woke me up in the middle of the night on multiple occasions slamming things and tearing out of the parking lot in the middle of the night.

They even had a fire pit in the front! would definitely recommend

- Adventure771445 (2/5): Do Not Even Consider This Place - My brother and I stayed here last week while on a fishing trip. The web site shows a cool place that any traveling fisherman like us would be ok with staying in. It was a terribly disappointing stay. Yes, the beds are super comfortable, but that is where the good ends. The towels had holes in them, the curtains were thread-bare and there were none in the bathroom window at all. Normally I can live with this, I was there fishing. An Espresso maker was provided but nothing else. Normally there would be sugar, creamer (coffee supplies), nothing was provided. Rachael did go purchase some for us. It really got uncomfortable when the police arrived the evening of the 1st night at about midnight while we were star gazing in the parking lot. Two police cars responding to a domestic disturbance call arrived in quite a hurry. I’ve traveled a lot but this was a first for me. When I asked Rachael the next day what the disturbance call was about with the police having to come, she and her friends got very defensive, and she actually asked me "how the hell did that disturb you?” Really? I did tell her that I paid a lot of money to stay here and did not expect a place like this. I've read reviews from others when apparently the place had previous owners or different managers, all were good. This place is not as it appears on the website. Also no breakfast was offered as was mentioned on the motel website. I'm going back in late Sep. but would never consider this place.
- Marcus_O_Really (2/5): Beware of this establishment - We came in late. 9'ish. Found a note on the office door to call for service. Not a problem. They had left our key in the room door. Not a problem. Ran out to eat, got back after 10 and settled ourselves into the room. Found our queen room to be dirty. Run down. Filthy. We slept in our car instead of staying here. Paid $125 + taxes = $150. This is how much you ripped us off. Cancel your reservations. Beware! Shame on this place!!!

No blinds on bathroom window. That said, the beds were comfortable. The rest of the issues wouldn have bothered us more if we hadn't been so tired from our river trip.

- NorthStar07301123651 (10/5): Sacajawea Inn is terrific! - We had a terrific experience at the Sacajawea Inn in Salmon Idaho on July 4th! I believe we stayed in the Eagle room, and it had been recently remodeled, and it was very clean and comfy, and had a Nepresso machine. The owners were wonderfully friendly and inviting, I would definitely stay at this Inn again.

- Tiznae (10/5): Newly renovated rooms! - When we first pulled up we were a little worried but after looking u could tell that they are in the process of renovating. The photos online are not of the updates rooms. The room is very very nice and updated. Huge tv, nice bed, bathroom, nespresso coffee maker, fridge, microwave, etc. Our room was very clean. WiFi, all the channels and apps on the tv, Snacks, water, playing cards, hand sanitizer, and our favorite part Pet friendly. Definitely recommend!
- L1471DLricka (2/5): 3 TIMES IS NOT A CHARM, HERE. ZERO STARS HERE. - On, or about, Sept. 5, 2020, I phone this Inn for scheduling reservations for our annual company ride. This was going to be our 3rd annual ride and our 3rd time staying at the Sacajawea Inn. The Inn was a great place for us to stay, since they have a common area for all 20 of us to visit. The reservations were made and the trip was set. On Oct. 5th, our company took off on our ride. On October 6th, after 300 miles, we pull into the Sacajawea Inn. Looking forward to resting and getting settled into our rooms. Looking forward to that cold beer and fire around the common fire pit. When we go into the lobby to check in, we are informed that 4 of our rooms were given away. Some sort of "BLM Contract" that the owner stated. She informed us that she made reservations with some other place in town for 4 rooms. Once driving by this place, I wouldn't let my worst enemy stay there. Now the Sacajawea Inn is no 4 star Inn, in fact not even a 3 star, but it was fun being able to mingle in the common area. We came back and informed the owner that none of us would be staying there. she was a bit rude and not too concerned. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I will say that our party did find GREAT accommodations, and they bent over backwards to make sure our stay was great. VERY PROFESSIONAL. I would name the place of business, but I'm not here to advertise other than "look around the area, before staying here!! I'm sure you will be very surprised to learn of the great accommodations you will find besides this "contract signing" place.

- 71JWilms (10/5): Can't go wrong with this quaint little inn. - The wife and I are currently staying here due to some interesting personal circumstances. However, the staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Great breakfast in the morning and quiet and clean rooms. In all honesty, I wish a lot of the bigger chains did things this way. It's a rare thing to find a hotel that actually treats you like a person and not just a method of payment. I would definitely stay here again. This place has a lot of charm as well.

The good cooked to order breakfast for only $4 and evening fires by the friendly owners provide B&B level hospitality with motel privacy and prices. A very nice stay.

In addition, the staff was very friendly and the room/bed was comfortable. We got a great night's sleep. It's not top of the line, so don't expect that, but it's clean, comfortable, with good people, for a decent price.
- bda314 (6/5): When first pulling in the parking lot it seemed like a neat place. - The owner was friendly, although the office had a peculiar smell to it. The room was small, and didn't feel all that clean. None of the windows would open, they had been painted shut. The front door had a screen door, but the latch thingy was broken so the door would blow open. There was a coffee pot, but no coffee, and no outlet to plug it into. Had to move it to the table to use it. I was also using that outlet for my curling iron, as there was no outlet in the bathroom. We had a room with one bed, but only got one bathtowel.... The bed however was super comfy!! Would consider staying there again, if I could look at the room first.
- bettieg2019 (10/5): Come again! - This place is awesome!! The service was exceptional and with a smile! There’s a made-to-order breakfast served in the morning that is well prepared and prompt. We enjoyed the revamped rooms with a king size bed, microwave, fridge, WiFi, and tv. Some of the rooms even have usb charger inputs!!! We enjoyed the quality of our stay for the same great low price!
- UTManAmI (4/5): Old and quirky is right! - We booked simply due to solid favorable reviews on TA, and we just don't get it. It is a very old 1950's-style motor hotel that has had some updating, but not a whole lot. Our rooms were odd-sized, odd-shaped, and none too clean. Bathrooms were tiny with very little horizontal working space. The shower was so small that I don't know what I would have done if I dropped my little bar of soap! Reception is warm, friendly, and even fun, bantering with the hostess. In fact, that was the best part of our stay. The $4 breakfast is a great idea, but not well executed in our case. The see-through coffee was very weak, the OJ tasted like Tang, the bacon so thin it had only one side, and the eggs were overdone for what we ordered. Neat little building, full of interesting relics and signs, but the food was not at all to our liking. We looked longingly at the Super 8 and Stagecoach Inn as we left town.
- Shapley_Hunter (4/5): Nice, freindly Staff. Dirty room. - I had booked this inn because the reviews suggested it was "quirky" and "fun". I noticed the number of negative reviews, but decided to chance it. I am sorry I did. We made the long drive from Ontario, first along the Payette River, and then down along the Salmon River. The drive was nice, but we were tired and ready for some rest. We checked in to the inn, noticing that the office was a bit cluttered. Oh, well! We hoped the room would be better. We checked in, first noting how dirty the floor was. If it had been mopped, I think it was mopped with dirty water. My wife refused to walk on them without shoes. The bathroom was not terribly dirty, but was not up the standard I would expect. the shower floor was dirty. We rose early in the morning. Breakfast was not to be served until 7:00 am, and we were up and ready to go before 6:00, so we just left. Thus I cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast.
- P3421ZKmichaels (10/5): Home again. - The staff more than make up for any short comings this motel may have. Is it older? Yes. If you expect new impersonal cookie cutter rooms go stay at a chain hotel. This place has charm and character. Barbara and Lou make this place a must stop for me every time I'm in town. My only regret is that I couldn't stay an extra day this time because they were sold out. Lou makes a mean 4$ breakfast. Coming back to Salmon and the Sacajawea Inn always feels like a warm hug. Do yourself a favor a give Barbara, Lou and the Sacajawea Inn a chance and you won't be sorry!
- Orance72 (4/5): Needs maintenance - Great owner and friendly. But the place needs repairs and maintenance. The toilet cover is broken. The shower is old and moldy. The concrete stairs are broken in pieces. The breakfast was good. The price reflects the condition.
