- Sharon (4/5): Shameful - Although we were aware that the hotel was closing we still expected 4 star accommodation as that is what we paid for. The pool and terrace area were in a very bad state of disrepair and the pool area unusable. We asked for an upgrade to a sea view as there road works at the front of the building and therefore noisy but were told ( 6 hrs after asking and having to ask again)that no rooms were available although the hotel was clearly far from busy. There were a few bottles of complimentary soft drinks in the room and when I asked for refills of water I was told no they were only filled once despite us having a 4 day stay. The whole place was totally shoddy and the ripped and rusty awning outside reflected the general state inside. I have no idea how the Caleta can still claim to be 4 star and charge those rates. Sadly the fact that its closing at the beginning of January is reglected very poorlyin every aspect of the business. Dont book this hotel
- Richard (6/5): - The building is slated for demolition on 1/1/22. Thus, their bar was not well stocked and the outside grounds were closed (it was falling apart). Inside, the hotel was pleasant, and had a nice feel; however, as it will be completely demolished, further review is unnecessary.

The hotel exterior has seen better days and the rooms are a little dated but it's a hotel I've been staying at for the last 5 years and has always been a nice place to spend time with excellent sea views.

- Christina (10/5): Lovely stay at the Caleta hotel - Caleta hotel is tucked away in a nice quiet spot next to beach in Catalan bay. Staff very welcoming and can't do enough for you. I was lucky to get uograded to a sea view room which was a lovely surprise. It has a nice small pool area and access to the beach. Breakfast is continental but enough to satisfy your appetite and the staff in the dining room are really lovely and helpful. The number 8 bus stops outside the hotel at regular intervals all day and is a cheap way to get about. I opted for taxis because I travelled solo and they averaged between £8 to £10 to get to anywhere in Gibraltar including the airport. In all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here but I have to mention that the staff and reception really do make a big difference....Thank you for talking such good care of me, the customer service was excellent.

We got a parking space right at the front door and there's a bus stop at the hotel as well for getting around the island. The hotel is a little tired really - could use a refresh. Our room was on the small side - nothing spectacular, but the bed was very comfortable by European standards. We ate a couple meals at the hotel and the food wasn't very good in my opinion, but that's just me. It's not a bad place to stay for a Gibraltar trip - kind of quiet. Everyone was helpful.

Easy walking distance to town and up to the rock. Would highly recommend staying here!

- Jermaine (2/5): Very poor. Not worthy of 4 stars - We stayed in room 268. Overall I would not recommend a stay at this hotel. The only positives are the location (close to the beach) and the general cleanliness of the rooms (although the condition is extremely poor). 1. There was absolutely zero wifi coverage for our room and when we tried to rectify the problem they promised they would send a technician but did absolutely nothing 2. The condition of the rooms is really poor. Overall the hotel needs a massive revamp to improve the quality of the furnishings and balcony etc. 3. I ordered peppermint tea to my room and not only was it never delivered, I called back to make sure and they again failed to deliver it 4. The kettle broke after just one use 5. The staff were fairly polite but they made no attempt to rectify the issues You should definitely book elsewhere if you’re considering a stay here. The prices do not reflect the room quality and it is not deserving of four stars
- Kate (6/5): - Booked for it’s location, which is lovely - right on a beach and a ten minute walk to an even nicer one. Bus stop right outside, very convenient. However, the hotel is very run down and due to be refurbished over the next two years. We had a spacious sea view room, tiny balcony. No hot water for three days of the stay but a refund was given - quick response to complaint and seemed to be repaired but repair then failed. Safe was broken. Carpet was dirty and room smelt damp. Beds are comfortable, bed linen clean - towels less so. Lovely pool area. Food and drink quite expensive and we felt the room was overpriced. Reception and bar area give a good impression of 4 star but the rooms are barely 3 star. Reception staff are outstandingly helpful.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location, not so good condition of the hotel - The location of the hotel is brilliant! Amazing views of sunrise and sunset. The condition of the hotel is bit outdated. Level of cleanliness was quite disappointing, loads of molds in the shower area, very narrow shower room, kettle was very dirty, and iron didn't work.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is in a great location, Checked in on 29th of August, had a lil scuffle about room choice but Jani at front desk was extremely amazing and her team , I was immediately offered a better room as an upgrade , Thank you Jani Otherwise the hotel is lovely, quite outdated , but overally the staff really try from the bar staff, kitchen and entertainment on Tuesday, the beautiful Asian lady singer has a voice of an angel. Only downside was having paid for breakfast, there was cold meats, cheese and breads no cooked breakfast and for one to have that, one needed to pay 5 pounds extra, thought that’s a rip off and should be mentioned before booking otherwise guests can have a choice to save their money and go into town or something for food. Special mention to the tall lady at the bar and she also does the breakfast time ( didn’t take name) she is an absolute angel, so beautiful and forever helpful Loved the views and location can definitely return
- Khyati (6/5): - The best thing about Caleta is the location! We had room 458 which had a great view of the rock and of the sea from the balcony. However the cleanliness was not as expected, lots of mould in the shower, dirty kettle, non functional iron, etc. Lots of noisw transfer between rooms, and our room was next to service room where they stored linen and towels, etc. hence woke every morning with constant banging of the door. Also, choice for breakfast is limited.

You have to ask for cooked breakfast if required. Small balcony one chair ? A swimming pool with life guard. A set of steps leading directly onto the stunning beach. A resturante on site (we didn't use), overhaul we enjoyed our time there 2 days
- Dido (8/5): - The hotel has a pleasant ship-like feel to it, with it's wonderful position, right on the sea. The rooms were clean and comfortable (superb matrasses, and excellent bed linen), but the bathrooms, although clean, were a little tired (with only so, so bath linen. The main problem with our room was hearing ALL, and I mean ALL the bathroom ablutions and actions of the room directly above, from showering to flushing the loo - and everything else besides. Most unpleasant! The restaurant was closed for the days of our stay, but we had decent food from the bar, enhanced by being seated on a terrace directly over the sea. The staff were all friendly and affable, but overstretched. Breakfast was also decent, either the full English or the continental, with good coffee. All in all, the hotel is a friendly and comfortable place to stay, but given its situation has the potential to be so much more.

- Kellie (10/5): Lovely 3 Night break in Gibraltar - We stayed at the Caleta for 3 nights recently. We had room 255 and it was brilliant. We had a lovely view from the balcony of the pool, the bay & the sea. Hotel does look a little tired in places. However, we would still highly recommend a stay at the hotel. It's in a great location. The bus stop outside hotel takes you into town. The lunch was a little on the pricey side but did tatse nice.

- Paula (8/5): Location, Location, Location! - My first time in Gibraltar and after some research I decided a beach hotel was needed. This was perfect! A little dated but overall a great stay. There are no shops close by so I did pay for daily breakfast. The coffee was great!! Right outside the hotel the number 8 or 4 bus takes you into town. The bus drivers are really friendly and helpful. The hotel beach was easily accessible and there are also two other beaches within walking distance. The hotel staff were also friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay in a great location.

- Brian (10/5): Relax and chill - This hotel is in a beautiful setting on the edge of a quiet small bay. There is currently a lot of construction work taking place at the opposite side of the bay. The hotel is starting to look a bit tired but it is scheduled for substantial redevelopment and expansion in the near future. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Easy walk into main town or you can get the bus directly outside. Perfect place to get away from normal life and chill.

However, this is more than made up for by its location on Catalan Bay and the eagerness of its young staff who will bend over backwards to make your stay memorable. - Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed here at the end of June…for only 2 nights sadly (as it was so busy in Gibraltar we could not book for any longer) amazing hotel, superb location, lovely views and the most fantastic staff. Special mentions to Jani in reception who was great and also Sachin at the pool area! We loved the vibe of this hotel, just feels homely and very welcoming. We had a double sea view room with a small balcony and loved it, really comfy beds and all amenities you need for a relaxing stay. The pool area is great and although the hotel was full we always managed to get a sun lounger and the pool was never too busy. Fantastic hotel, and hope to return soon.
- Joshua (10/5): Excellent Hotel - The hotel is Pristine and located in between two of the best beaches in Gibraltar. Customer service and sincerity is exceptional, special mention to Jani and Elisa! We enjoyed our stay for me and my wife as our honeymoon trip (even ending up extending for one more night). They have amenities for fitness (gym with reasonable equipments for working out) and relaxation (Spa/Treatment suite for massage, etc.). Overall highly recommended for someone who wants to enjoy and relax in Gibraltar

- Lesley (6/5): MISSING AN OPPORTUNITY - Due to the green list we chose to go to Gibraltar and this was the last room we could find. The hotel room was surprisingly ok, clean, towels changed every day, comfortable bed and pillows and a good shower. The downside to this hotel was the food and service. The menu in the bar was very limited and not that good. Nunos was good the first night, but on our 2nd night very very poor. Fish tiny and overcooked and cold. It was the service in the hotel that really let it down, very slow (20 minutes to get a bottle of wine)!! Chips arriving when mains finished and same with main course arriving when starters not even finished so therefore cold. Some staff were brilliant, ie Florian, Eve and Antonio, they went out of their way to help. There was a lack of sunbeds around the pool and if you left your towel on they took it off, my friend and I had separate breakfasts so we didn't lose our bed. The taxi drivers said they hear lots of reports of the poor service. Expensive for what it was. Wouldn't return.

- Tara (10/5): Absolutely amazing!!!! - Absolutely amazing hotel. David at the pool bar was absolutely excellent, remembered our orders, was so polite just over all made our holiday. They provide you with robes and slippers, all toiletries and the air con is amazing. The sea view rooms are definitely worth the extra money as the view is amazing. The TV has games on also! Absolutely 1000/10 we couldn’t even fault anything other than we wasn’t there long enough!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The caleta hotel was a great place to stay. The staff were extremely welcoming and the hotel itself was lovely. I had a twin sea view room which was a decent sized room with a comfy bed and balcony. The breakfast was a buffet and had a nice variety of things to eat. The pool area was great, the view is insane! The only thing I would say, there is very little sunbeds and is a race to get one in the mornings! Other than that, I would definitely come back. The location is up in the rock, around 25 minute walk into the centre but the hotel will call a taxi for you or there is a bus stop right outside which takes you to the centre.

- David (6/5): Tired Hotel with a few positives - Very welcoming upon arrival. The rooms are very tired, damp patches, below eye level cleaning not great, window inside / out dirty too, the rooms also have a damp stale smoke smell - I’m not sure if you can smoke in the room. I moved to a second room on the first night which was slightly better, I purchased air freshener and two infusers which great improved things. Both rooms needed the fridges cleaning too. The sea view was amazing though, the balcony has only room for one person so small. Bathroom has a good selection of shampoo / shower gels. Again these rooms are tired a little dirty with mould spots on the walls. TV in the room has a large selection of UK channel Sky movies / Sports / ITV etc although there is plenty to do around Gibraltar so not 100% important. The restaurant is fantastic!! Great service, amazing food, and the staff brilliant 5 Star! The bar is good too, great bar man and not over priced for a hotel either. Swimming pool area clean but again tired. The health spa I never used as there is little info regarding it, not even a QR code to read the treatments available. The beach next to Hotel is excellent with one particular bar / restaurant which is perfect for a drink and snack in the sun. This hotel is rated as 4 stars, even during this time of Covid I have stayed at various hotels 4 / 5 Stars and this is sadly more 2 / 3 stars - not worth around a thousand pounds for 7 nights compared the Gibraltar 5 star.
- Marie (10/5): Great base - Lovely hotel right on the beach and another beach 10mins walk away. Only 2 local restaurants alongside the beach which were closed on Mondays, as was the hotel restaurant, but a good bus service from hotel to Ocean Village and centre of town where restaurants aplenty. Very clean and measures in place for covid safety.

- Priya (6/5): - The Caleta is right by a small pretty beach but on the other side of everything (town and ocean village (party area). It takes 30 mins to walk to ocean village and longer for the town centre. The hotel is decent but old, not in the best condition, and the shower had some mould around the tray. There was also some small bugs and ants on the bathroom floor

- Jacky (6/5): - We chose this hotel because of how close it is to the beach. It is a 5 minute walk from hotel to beach or less if the gate from pool to beach is open. Due to the Covid 19 situation things were very different to how they would normally be. Hotel very quiet. It was annoying that there was no information about hotel amenities anywhere. Presume that this is to do with paperwork not being allowed to be left around. No information about how to use the safe; no information about the mini bar. It's all a guessing game! Air conditioning not very effective but quite noisy. Breakfast is okay but could be a lot better. There is no choice you are presented with plates of food. White bread and toast, cold meats, cheese and a couple of pastries. Fruit salad and yoghurt. I know that we are in a difficult situation at the moment but I feel that breakfast could have been dealt with in a better way than it was. Definitely not worth £8.50. Annoyed that despite the lovely photo of the bedroom on the Expedia site we got an old room again. False advertising!

- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location of this hotel is wonderful as are the views out to sea both from the sea view rooms and bars and restaurants. However the hotel is dated and the guest rooms are in desperate need of a complete overhaul/renovation. We had dirty and cracked bathroom tiles, paint and plaster peeling off the bedroom walls especially around the window and balcony door. You would have thought housekeeping would have at least vacuumed the debris up but no. On the plus side the restaurant/bar staff were friendly and helpful even given the current pandemic restrictions. Sorry to all at The Caleta but I wouldn’t return.

- Martyn (4/5): - The hotel has great views. However it is due for demolition soon and is quite scruffy and my room was unclean. The carpets were filthy. Moreover, the restaurant was closed and nearest eating places are over a mile away. I am not a perfectionist. However, I paid the same rate as a 4 star hotel in a good part of London in high season and it was mid September and thus out of season.

- Adel (8/5): Hotel with great views - The hotel has amazing views. Our room was a decent size, with a balcony and we had a mountain view, so you could look out over the Rock. It has a nice pool and easy access to the beach. There is a bus stop right in front the hotel which was very convenient. We added the continental breakfast, it was okay but the service was very slow. The room has complementary drinks which was nice. The hotel is a bit dated but overall it was a nice stay.

- MICHELLE (10/5): - THE HOTEL IS IN A FANTASTIC POSITION WITH LOVELY VIEWS ACROSS THE BAY. THE STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ONE PARTICULAR STAFF MEMBER CALLED JADE WHO REALLY DID MAKE OUR HOLIDAY VERY SPECIAL , ON ARRIVAL WE FOUND OUR ROOM HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING BUT JADE WAS VERY POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL AND QUICKLY RESOLVED OUR PROBLEM BY PUTTING US INTO A THE EXECUTIVE SUITE , AND WOW , IT WAS SUCH A LOVELY SUITE EVEN HAD OUR OWN COFFEE MAKING MACHINE AND TWO FLAT SCREEN TVS , DOUBLE PATIO DOORS LEADING TO A VERY LARGE BALCONY.. THANK YOU SO MUCH JADE

- Martin (8/5): Gibraltar short break. - After all the covid issues that are going on,gibralter was the safest option and some good weather,overall we had a lovely stay.they were very short staffed( because the virus issue)but very friendly and the food was good to.i think the caleta hotel needs a bit of TLC & a good clean on balcony areas as there was birds droppings etc and dusty,never cleaned.,and on other balconeys to,sea view balcony tiny ,enough for 1 person.you really feel for them there and in the town restaurants as covid has decimated the staffing levels comming accross the border to keep Gib running.hope it all comes back together for them all in the future,

- Hans (8/5): - Great location, on the cliffs, very romantic. Next to Catalan Bay, the only attractive beach in Gibraltar. The in-house Italian restaurant is very good. The rooms are bit outdated. A little disappointed that when we wanted to change rooms because we had two separate small beds, this was not possible because "the hotel was fully booked". The hotel was far from being full!
- Jen (4/5): Not great... - Bearing in mind this is during the Covid-19 outbreak and many things were locked down we decided to go 'away' to the Caleta even though we live in Gibraltar. We left only a couple of hours after arriving. The lady at the reception desk was lovely and well presented and helpful and we can't fault her at all however there's very little to do there. There's the spa area which isn't included in the £100+ a night price tag and a swimming pool and that's pretty much it. The bars were shut (government Covid rules) but the onsite restaurant was open offering a set menu. There's very little to do in the area of the hotel and as Gibraltar was locked down there's nothing touristy to do either. As for the hotel itself it could do with freshening up the guest rooms. There were patches of plaster next to the door of the balcony which hasn't been painted over. We got there at 4pm and there were still breakfast trays in the hallway waiting to be cleared away. We weren't very impressed and decided it would be better to leave rather than stay and be bored.
- Christine (10/5): Wonderful Hotel with Great Staff - We were one of the hundreds of people in Gibraltar waiting on flights home during the Covid 19 Pandemic. We stayed 3 nights at the Caleta Hotel and loved being there, despite the difficult situation we were in. All of the staff were great but would particularly like to mention Ricardo, who went out of his way to help us as much as possible.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, views , bus link, reception staff excellent but not really up to 4 star, old socks found in wardrobe, bedside light not working , stained curtains, room not serviced on one of the nights, charged 3 different prices for same drinks in bar on different nights, wouldn’t expect to have to pay a service charge when staying at hotel, when asked about this, being ignored, pool area not ready for use, although it was March so may be early for this. With just a bit more attention to detail it could be so good, but it was disappointing to think that a £33 per night hotel in Spain was actually better!

- Susan (8/5): Mini break in Gibraltar at the Caleta hotel - The room was a decent size, but in need of some attention, great view, balcony very small only really room for one on it. Location good as was local transport into the town. We ate at the Italian on site on one evening and the food was delicious and comparable in price to home The pool was not open and was a lot smaller than expected. The whole hotel is due for renovation in the near future, so will soon hopefully have the uplift it requires. All the staff are polite and helpful.

- AN (2/5): - Well...imagine yourself in a place where every single employee is doing an effort to make you feel unconfortable. And that in Gibraltar nobody speaks english :) The most unfrendly staff I ever experienced. They might be underpaid and they want you to feel this.
