They’re not courteous and those are people at the front desk anytime someone coming to the facility they need to have a smile and be polite. • Sarah (3/5): Not really worth saving $40 versus staying at the location closer to work. - The staff was very helpful I dislike the automated check in. When I checked in the printer wasn’t working so I had to get my room number and a map from the actual employee who was present. It raised this week and at approximately 1-1:30a my feeling was dripping on my face. I was on the ground floor. I initially moved the bed to avoid the dripping only to realize the problem was spreading. I alerted the front desk who moved me to a different room immediately. That was awesome. There was also a huge spider in the first room that I dispatched. For nearly $400 for a 5 night stay I don’t expect leaking ceilings on the ground floor. I can over look the spider, however the annoyance of packing and moving rooms in the middle of the night was very bad. The actual staff on site is very friendly and helpful, the virtual check in was cumbersome and annoying.

• michelebO9264JP (2/5): A Bio Hazard and public health disgrace - A Biohazard and a Public Health Disgrace Rating: 0/5 Stars This is not a hotel; it is a slumlord-run property that represents a genuine public health hazard. I am writing this to warn anyone—especially those who may be placed here for medical recovery—to stay far away. I was placed here after a hospital stay, and the conditions were so appalling that I ended up back in the hospital with an eye infection caused by the room itself. The Filth Factor The level of neglect here is staggering. It is not just "unkempt"; it is infested with grime and neglect. Floors: The floors are so sticky and filthy that you are forced to wear shoes at all times just to avoid infection. I was told by cleaning staff that they are "not allowed" to mop—they only sweep. Windows & Mold: The window seals are caked in black, moldy mud. Combined with massive holes in the screens, it is impossible to open a window for air without inviting in bugs. The Smell: The room reeks of a stagnant, nauseating odor that no amount of Fabreze or Lysol could ever mask. Linens & Fixtures: I encountered yellowing, pee-smelling shower curtains and dirty spots on sheets so I brought in my own bedding and sheets. Life-Safety Hazards Beyond the filth, the building is a code-violation nightmare: Fire Hazards: There is exposed wiring throughout the building, posing a clear fire risk with old wiring to plugs showing frayed. Structural Integrity: Ceiling tiles are water-stained and leaking with the rain. Security: There are broken doors on the property with no lock. Climate Control: The AC unit was intermittent and noisy, didnt stay on and making for an impossible environment to rest in. Management’s Negligence When I attempted to address these issues, the manager’s response was nothing short of hostile. When I asked about the lack of cleaning, he bluntly stated, "As a brand, Motel 6 does not clean." He was dismissive, rude, and told me, "If you don’t like it, leave." This reflects a total lack of accountability from both the manager and the ownership. A Message to the San Mateo Hospital Foundation Donors I was sent here by a foundation as part of "post-hospital support." To the donors of the San Mateo Hospital Foundation: Is this the standard of care you believe your gifts are providing? When I reached out to the foundation’s leadership, they acknowledged the reports I gave two weeks ago but chose not to sever the partnership with this hotel. I feel that there may be a problem with this partnership ethically. This is not "support"—it is putting vulnerable patients into a hazardous, unsanitary, and degrading environment. If you want to help people recovering from health issues, you must ensure that your partnerships reflect dignity, safety, and basic human respect, not this repulsive, broken-down pit. Stay away. If you value your health, look anywhere else.

• Kathleen (4/5): - The price was reasonable and it was great not to be gouged for traveling with a dog. Bed was comfortable and grounds well maintained and nice to walk dog around. I was put in an accessibility room. The bathroom sink was coming detached from the wall. Sink had no countertop to put products. Soap smelled like something I would wash dog with and no shampoo so had to buy something I could use. A/C unit support were broken and the unit was loud.

My room this time was in the oldest building apparently. The roof was leaking in the hallway, which is understandable. The floor in my room had buckled from previous water damage and the bathroom was very small.

It has the worst staff and security and protocol upon any person saying a person's name that's staying there and they give him a key that's what happened to me? They gave some lady who's wasn't on my card.Who was not on my registration?A key to my room and to inside the building , they took something from somebody's door and they charged me for it The fact that they held my $100 cash deposit hostage waited for the manager till 1 o'clock for him to give it back to me after I had checked out at 11I had a call attorney because it blacklisted me because they made a mistake I registered with my name and my service animal only. I did not authorize. I did not give permission. I did not register anybody else and staff gave a key to a lady and her boyfriend because I mentioned my name and then management. Try to cover it up by not giving me a kick. A key log, an employee's number. They try to push that only one key was given at 10:15 PM. When, in fact, multiple keys were given after management notice that I took pictures of their screen, he then made up oh I believe I just found who made extra keys but still blame me. For whatever those people did by taking other people's food, they took it out of my deposit and black flagged me or Black Book mean from that hotel I had, I gave nobody permission.I did not know those people, I knew them.They were not with me.That is very unprofessional

I’m so sorry you have to deal with what has to be the worst upper management I’ve ever encountered, just the fact that you’re able to keep them satisfied makes you a hero - but you deserve better. I know one day you will break free from the oppression that is motel 6 and make it without them! Any other hotel would likely be more appreciative of you than this dump. They say you can’t polish a turd, but I think you have definitely proved that saying wrong.

• Michael (1/5): I cannot sum up my stay in a short sentence Please read my extended review it is worth your time. - This time around there was nothing I liked about the property The first day I checked in I had a very nice young man check me in to a room with a very dirty floor and a air-conditioning that spewed warm air. When I went downstairs to see if I could get a better room with better air conditioning, he helped me out and I was very happy with the king room I got. Come the morning of the next day, I had booked 2 extra nights, on booking.com also a room with a king bed but when I went to the front desk to check in for the day they told me I had booked a queen room with a Ada accessible bed and I would have to check out and check back in later, and if I wanted to check in before 3:00, I would need to pay a early check-in fee. I checked with booking.com they told me I booked a king room and that they would call the front desk, and I was put on hold then the call got dropped and I repeated the process, while I was on hold again I had already finished moving out of the room and when I went to relinquish the keys they informed me that they cancelled my bookings and banned me for 60 days. From what l understand they did not like me because I said that “this place sucks” which I immediately apologized for. They also accused my girlfriend of not picking up her dogs poop & the manager took his time to point at some poop smeared on some concrete but when I went to talk about it with my girlfriend she said her dog pooped on the grass, and after she put her coffee down & returned to pick it up. So I offered to and almost scrubbed someone else’s dog poop up off the sidewalk to make these people happy; I’m so glad I didn’t because they did not treat us like real human beings.

We appreciate the pets stay free policy at Motel 6, and use it a lot when traveling with our dog. No microwave. Had to get the hairdryer from reception. Very basic room.

• Valerie (7/5): If you don't want frills but do want a safe family friendly stay for cheap this is your spot - Upon checking in there was a really bad smell in our room and we immediately went to the front desk and ask for a new room. They were able to give us a different room and in a different building where there was no smell. So that was very nice. The cleaning service goes around at 11:00 a.m. everyday knocking at the door to see if someone's staying or see if they're clearing out. it's very loud they're up and down the hallway for hours and it's very disrupting for the people who are staying.

• Anthony (1/5): My stay was disappointing, and the staff were lazy. - Not much, although I will say the pool area is well maintained. The front desk staff is apathetic, don’t seem to care about guests, and are generally not interested in providing good customer service. Another thing is that when you use the kiosk online system, at the end of the check-in process, you are told to claim your two complimentary bottles of water. Significantly, check- in time is 3 pm. When I asked for my bottles of water I was told that none were available in the afternoon because they were all taken in the morning which is nonsensical sine complimentary water is supposed to only be given to guests checking in, and again, check-in time is supposed to be at 3pm. Another problem is that the staff have no idea where luggage carts are located. One staff member shoul be assigned to retrieve all luggage carriers and place them in a central location in the lobby area so guests do not have to search for them. I helped a woman in a wheelchair look for a luggage cart for over an hour, walking through five separate buildings, and never found one. The staff could care less. All rooms should also have an iron and ironing board. Further, none of the ice machines in each building should be out of order more than 24 hours. And would it kill someone to mop the floors in the elevators? They are disgusting. Finally, the entire complex is in poor condition and could use a makeover. I guarantee you, if I managed the Belmont , CA. location I could turn it around in 60-90 days.
