• Stephen (8/5): Very enjoyable stay - A very nice hotel in a beautiful area. We combined a 1 night stay with a dinner function that the hotel had advertised. The food at the Seafood Dinner was excellent. The only "issue" was that there was so much! We stayed in a suite (the only available room on the night we booked for) which was spacious and comfortable. No slippers or robes though, which suites in hotels like this often provde. The countryside around is stunning and we are keen to come back.
• David (8/5): - We enjoyed the feeling of history in the main hall. The food was good with generous portions. We will not return due to the number of stairs to access our room.
• Michelle (8/5): - Lovely historic building and grounds in a peaceful location. The restaurant food is excellent and very good value for money. The tudor main hall with a gallery is very impressive. The staff were professional and accommodating. The only thing I found a little odd is the bedroom and corridor decor which isn't in keeping with the rest of the building and in need of some refurbishment especially the carpet. However this would not stop me returning or recommending this hotel.

• Kathleen (10/5): Fabulous service - The staff were fantastic, couldn’t do enough. The shower had a very poor pressure. Sadly there was no air conditioning and it was very hot. A fan would have been good. We would certainly return.

• Anita (10/5): Lovely relaxing break - Had a wonderful stay , when you arrive the hotel and views are amazing , a nice warm greeting from lovely receptionist, we stayed in the Queen room was beautiful & lovely views , dinner & Breakfast was so lovely , cooked with best ingredients makes a change to have such a lovely meal & service all the staff lovely , my only negative was didn’t have long another stay would have loved to stay another night was wonderful!!!!
• Brinda (8/5): Must go! - Amazing building and public spaces were so worth seeing and spending time in The room we chose, the cheapest was quite small, a bit worn and we had no hot water in the morning on this occasion , overall for the price I would stay again
• Paul (8/5): - Stayed in the Ribble Suite it was very nice apart from the Bathroom was very cold only having a small electric heated towel rail you have to leave the bathroom door open with the heat full on in the Suite for a hour or so to warm up the bathroom. our biggest gripe was that the Suite was warm all afternoon but when we returned to dress for dinner at 7pm the hotel heating had turned itself off and the room was uncomfortable chilly reported it to night manager who Forbes the hotel heating boiler back on. The Ribble Suite has what we believe the Hotels main heating ducts a d heating pipes tuning behind a false wall making the room sound as though you are in a aircraft flying at 30,000 ft the night manager did offer to move us to another room but not a Suite as all other suites were taken so we chose to stay in the Ribble Suite the heating did switch off at 1am and we managed to get 3 1/2 hours sleep before we were woken again at 4.30 am when it cane back on. Each Sunday there is classical musicians playing from 12noon to 8pm The piano player was a super chap playing continuously until 11pm stating 3hours over his finish time playing guests requests. During the afternoon their was also a very talented Flute player.Wecstecin the Restraunt Cream of Mushroom Soup very large portion but too thick for our liking mor of a porridge consistency. The Roast Beef dinners were again very large portions especially the beef but was let down my Uber coked rock hard Roast Potatoes

• Sue (8/5): - Attended a wedding. Beautiful setting. Rooms just a little tired, dusty and shower head need cleaning. Bed was super comfy. Only 1 boy serving at breakfast but very helpful breakfast was very good. Just 1 miserable waitress at the wedding. Dont like bottle being placed under arm pit when serving one of other wines, carrying 3 bottle's.
• Iain (10/5): Beautiful hotel and stay - Stayed here for 2 nights in July, very impressed with the location and grandeur of the hotel as you approach. Room was comfortable and clean and wifi was strong in all parts of the hotel. Breakfast was cereals toast and juices and was very nice, 1 down side and this is just a one off they held a prom night and VERY loud music under my room until about 11pm but thats been and gone now and they did tell me when i checked in
• William (8/5): - The open log fires and relaxed environment were excellent. our first meal was cold and breakfast were not up to standard, but would stay there again
• John (6/5): - The building is quite impressive, although old & modern dont always blend harmoniously. Suite was decent size -slippers/and or gown would add a nice touch. Deep bath but no bath foam & towel left at other end of room. Hand towel ring was on opposite side of room to basin. Nowhere to put toiletries in shower except floor which not good for older people. We were kept waiting until exactly 3 when all rooms became available. Cleaners had left building earlier. Most places let you in a bit earlier if room ready, especially if you have paid to upgrade room. Generous tea supplies but a biscuit would have been nice Breakfast was very slow as 1 poor waiter was serving a busy dining room. No bowls for cereal, only dried fruit. Cooked breakfast arrived almost same time as I started cereals Nice setting.

• Carl (8/5): Lovely Hotel- but some tlc required - Lovely hotel- very quirky in character - loving the real home fireplace- huge feature as you walk into reception- staff are friendly and welcoming. The room we occupied was spacious - but needs some tlc- mould around the shower cubicle and mould in the corner of the bedroom wall- which was gathering spiders and not pleasant. The bed was very soft and the pillows were like paper- so not a great nights sleep tbh. No air con in the room as they advise you not to leave the window open due to mosquitos from the lake /river- so you cant really leave the window open. Breakfast was good- bar isnt the cheapest - but overall it was nice stay over.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Mitton Hall stay - When we arrived, they couldn't find our booking whether there was bad communication between Hotels.com or the Hotel we were not sure, therefore there was not a room booked for us. As there was a wedding the next day, they were only able to give us a room for one night, which they did and upgraded us to a more expensive one. Which was good customer service on their part. The receptionist was very helpful and accommodating.

• Fran (10/5): - Mitton Hall is a beautiful hotel. The lads at the bar were very warm and friendly. The only thing I didn’t like was that I was unable to connect my Echo Alexa and my Firestick tho one of the lads lent me a Bluetooth speaker but I missed my Echo. The food was very good and the room sort of medium but it was a room for dogs. It had a bathroom and all amenities.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is outstanding! Fresh ingredients perfectly cooked and presented. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The room was adequate but very hot all the time and noisy due to barking dogs nearby which could be heard having to have the windows open due to the heat. The standard double room is very small and I would recommend booking a bigger room if available.
• Barry (10/5): Mitton Hall - Generally excellent with high quality food and attentive staff. Be aware that a standard room is quite small. One niggle was that a very thick quilt could not be changed to a summer one - it was very warm while we were there. Lovely ambience and relaxed setting.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Liked the dining room. The meal was good. The drinks prices are unbelievably high . The housekeeping in the Tudor suite was disappointing. The picture above the bed with a glass cover had not been cleaned for a long time as it was covered in marks that a glass cleaner could have eliminated. The bed head and bottom leather bed head was covered in scratches that did not make it look old ,just tatty. May I suggest a leather polish cleaner which would make the leather look cared for. The inside door to the bathroom was full of dirty marks that again should have been spotted. Bleach on a cloth would have removed the dirty hand marks. Also whilst sat in the bath the toilet bowl was in full view and the inside rim of the toilet was again dirty where it hadn't been cleaned properly. As you can imagine this spoilt my romantic weekend. I know the premises has a lot of character due to age but cleanliness should not be forgotten.

• Kieran (4/5): Nice hotel, Dont get lumbered with the tiny room - I've stayed here a number of times and have always been impressed. However my most recent stay was less than ideal. I was put in what can only be described as the smallest hotel room in the UK, the room was also directly above the door to what i can only guess is the entrance to weddings and events. The room beneath me was being cleared until at least 1am, meaning a terrible night sleep. I will be going back, but i will specifically request another room.

• Holly (10/5): Outstanding!! - Fabulous hotel and outstanding service all round.Came on business and brought my boss from Barcelona here - he loved it ! Will request a historical room for him next time. Bar is very draughty - my only suggestion for improvement.
• Frances (8/5): Gracious living - great food - Overnight stay in beautiful Ribble Valley. Our room was over the main function room which had a disco that night (until the small hours). But realising this staff moved us to a quieter room and couldn't have been nicer. Hope to go back when the disco isn't on!
• Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely old place in country - We had a lovely night to celebrate a special event and upgraded to a suite, which was comfortable and very spacious. I think though it must have been above the kitchens as you could hear lots of banging (and singing!) during the day. However, it was fine by bedtime. Ate in restaurant , service and food both Dinner & Breakfast were excellent
