- Hoath (10/5): An excellent example of English pub accommodation . highly recommended - A pub with no pretensions but good value for money. Friendly, good food , excellent service. Location near East Kirkby aviation museum was excellent. Accommodation good. Shower was a bit small and the hot water depended on who else was using the hot water. no problem
- Philip (9/5): - Very welcoming. Friendly staff. Photos on line do not do the property justice.

Staff helpfull and freindly.

Great location for East Kirkby Museum. Under the present climate it mat not be high on the list but, the only criticism we had was the interior was a little tired.

Our breakfast, lunch and dinner were very good value for money and the produce used was excellent and fresh. The stairs needed a good vacuum and we couldn’t get the shower warm, the water was very cold.

- Caroline (8/5): Good night's stay. - Breakfast was really good. Lots of choice. Freshly prepared. Big portions. Room was comfortable. Lovely staff. Could do with a bit of an update some areas like the stairs up to the rooms looked tired but everything was clean.
- Tina (4/5): Disappointed- glad we only stayed one night - Staff were friendly. It was close to where we wanted to be It wasn’t clean. Dust everywhere (eg we noticed someone had written in it in one of the public areas but it still hadn’t been cleaned) Very worn and dated (and I don’t mean oldy worldy). Bathroom was dirty and mouldy. Bed was uncomfortable. Food, although very large portions was not the nicest.
- Shirley (8/5): It’s an old country pub which is what you get - Good location for the Lincoln aviation museum
Breakfast was great
- Margaret (10/5): -

- Stephen (7/5): - The Red lion was in a great location for our stay. Breakfast was really good. Room needs updating, looking tried and outdated. TV in the room was the smallest I've seen in years.
- Priscilla (10/5): Very enjoyable. Will be going back. - Breakfast was HUGE!! Very well worth the money! Nothing! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and tidy with a beautiful view.
- bob (10/5): -
- Toni (3/5): Very disappointing, would not recommend this facility or this town. - The staff were very nice and the owner was very helpful. The food was quite good. The room was not clean very old rooms they need renovating not good at all. Would not recommend this facility. There is only the hotel there. No other shops for at least a 15 minute drive.
- Ann (7/5): Excellent location for our needs. Breakfast good and staff friendly. - Excellent breakfast
Location good to reach the Lincoln aviation Heritage Centre The room was very basic
- Dawn (10/5): Highly recommended - Location, staff, food and atmosphere

- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Ruth (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): Very good indeed. Many thanks. - Very high marks for cleanliness. The meals were excellent, both evening and morning. The staff were capable and very friendly. And, more than one chair in the room - result ! The bathroom may have been the smallest we have ever experienced, and could have been bigger given the large size of the bedroom. That said, it might be asking a bit much to suggest that the management move a wall !
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Adam (7/5): Food was nice and reasonably priced, the room was basic and dated but clean. The mattress was far too soft for our likin - Friendly staff Accommodation was basic and dated
- Timothy (9/5): Superb - Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Noise from nearby road traffic.
- Christine (8/5): This trip was just one night but would definitely recommend a stay here and 2/3 nights so you can explore the area. - Great building, good location, good food, great staff. Breakfast was awesome Room a little small and very warm
- Mark (8/5): Lovely location very nice food will visit again - Peaceful location and picturesque breakfast was very generous and tasty
- David (8/5): Nice stay but needs a bit of a refresh - Very comfy bed and nice staff. We found the room to be very dusty, mainly in the bathroom. It looked as though it could have all done with a wipe down, also in the hallway upstairs needed a clean. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal, lovely well cooked food, the portions were huge. Neither of us could finish our meal which felt a bit of a waste. Well done to the chef but not everyone can eat the massive plates of food.
- Darren (10/5): Had a great stay - The breakfast was lovely, and the room was very comfortable. I loved the lamps with the USB ports in the base. I couldn't find any information in the room. I was working late and forgot to get the Wifi code before I went to the room. The pub had closed and didn't want to disturb anyone, so I made do without it, but it would have been nice if that information had been in the room.
- Ian (6/5): Pleasant - Staff were lovely very helpful.
Quiet location
Easy parking
The room was spacious
Good breakfast The bathroom was just too small. Shower cubical not great but good shower plenty hot water
The kettle needs replacing
One window wouldn’t open it was a warm day
The room was a little dated but clean
- Robert (9/5): Great place, superb food, perfect location - Superb location, excellent atmosphere, perfect beer garden, good selection of drinks, and very very helpful and professional, friendly staff.
Food was very tasty, and breakfast sets you up for the whole day!! Absolutely nothing
- G (6/5): Beautiful place and surroundings. Shame about the service - Beautiful location Staff was very dismissive and non attentive. Each time one of us went to the bar for food or drinks the group of young staff was all stood about chatting and made us wait quite a while each time, it felt like they didn’t want to serve us. Also room was very basic, no water in the room and got charged for it when we asked downstairs. We didn’t end up staying for breakfast even tho it was included as didn’t feel very welcome
- Simon (9/5): Superb - Location excellent. Staff very friendly. Food portions large, and quality good. Excellent breakfast. Bed was too soft for me.
- David (9/5): Great place with nice friendly staff - Nice Traditional Country Pub with good food and nice accommodation No complaints
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Miss (5/5): Passable - Beautiful place it could be great but the food always a let down
Otherwise helpful staff and reasonable prices on the bar
Such a shame for a stunning location
Rooms a little tired but okay for an overnight stay Food was very poor.
Overwhelming portions of badly fried food
Quantity doesn’t compensate for quality
Cancelled breakfast
This was the let down on a previous visit 3 years ago 🙁
- Mal (10/5): Exceptional - Good staff, clean room and Breakfast was amazing
- Michael (9/5): brilliamt - staff and food were marvellous.
- Anthony (9/5): one night in the red lion - Excellent location, ideal for any attractions you are going to in the local area, lovely looking building, good selection of beers and lagers,
Staff friendly, helpful and efficient
Spacious bedrooms
Evening meal was excellent just a little too much to eat,
Good selection at breakfast and again plentiful,
I would stay there again Bedrooms could do with a slight makeover
ie, painting walls and woodwork, silicone in bathroom needs replacing nothing major just bit of TLC
- Debbie (8/5): Very good - Fabulous location and building
Staff were very friendly and excellent service
Good value for money
Food was very great especially the breakfast Don't so much mind the dated decor, but I do think it could have been cleaner .
- Allison (4/5): Lovely staff, poor accomodation - Location was convenient for visiting friends The quality of the bedroom accommodation was poor. The stair carpet was filthy and the bedroom was very tired and bathroom not particularly clean.
- Jayne (4/5): Wouldn't stay there again - Not much. Waited ages to place meal order. Onion rings had little or no onion just a greasy batter ring. Tiny tv in room, couldn't adjust to watch tv in bed, it just went back against the wall. Moved bedside cabinet to use wall socket, it was filthy, never been cleaned behind it.!!!!!
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Really friendly staff food was amazing the bed was really comfortable
- Bronwyn (8/5): Great place full of character - Lovely and friendly
- Elanor (8/5): Friendly staff - Staff really friendly and go above and beyond You can hear everything going on downstairs in the pub from the room.
- Jim (8/5): Nice place for an overnight stop - Good room. On-site parking.
All staff that we interacted with were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was really good, with a range of options.
We ate in the restaurant, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Food was hot, well prepared and generous in portions.
Have no hesitation in recommending. Nothing springs to mind
- Roberts (8/5): I thought it was very reasonable and I would stay again - The location was easy to find and good as a base to explore many other locations.
The food was absolutely lovely and lots of it, plenty of vegetables which is sometimes lacking in other places.
The staff were very friendly and it has good beer. A minor thing was the TV was tiny
- Carol (9/5): Superb - Excellent cooking, very friendly people running the hotel.
- Carolyn (8/5): Would stay again - The location was lovely the property was big and spacious and the breakfast was the best
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Christopher (10/5): Excellent location and a great place for a short stay. - We have stayed at the Red Lion many times before. It's our number one choice for accommodation when visiting the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby.
The food is excellent and all the staff are kind and very helpful.
- Michelle (8/5): Very good - Breakfast great. Sausages were very meaty and very good quality Nothing
- Cherry (8/5): Cosy fire and excellent food! - Breakfast amazing, Steve an excellent chef and good conversationalist. Evening meal also excellent and very generous portions. Cosy old fashioned pub with real fire. Housekeeping left a little to be desired with black around shower door and bits on stair carpet. However it was between Christmas and New Year so may not have had full cleaning staff in. The pub is a wonderful old building but Batemans the owners need to invest some money in its upkeep.
- Adam (9/5): Wonderful food and staff - Proper English pub with decent homemade food, large portions. Excellent staff. Good location for us. Nice choices of ales. Decent bed, bedroom and pillows. Bathroom needed some TLC. TV in bedroom was tiny (14” or so)
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Simply lovely, old school hospitality. Super welcome, wonderful food and nothing too much trouble. Half sized breakfast was more than enough.
- Craig (8/5): Very good -
- Roslyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (8/5): - Old fashioned pub, lovely atmosphere, open fire good beer and food, hosts and food great try the onion rings
- Nikki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (6/5): Pleasant Stay - Large breakfast, Full English, choice of cereals, fruit, Tea, Coffee, Juices Small TV in room
- Dunk (9/5): Quaint little country pub with lovely breakfast. - Lovely pub, staff very friendly, room spacious and breakfast was superb with big portions Nothing
- Dave (8/5): Friendly staff, good food and basic but adequate accomodation. - Great location after a day in a factory, nice rural retreat Nothing
- Woods (10/5): Exceptional - We found the Red Lion a very lovely pub very well come in and a great location especially if you are into planes as it's very close to an airbase To be honest with you, there wasn't much to dislike it was a very clean, very welcoming hotel to stay
- Gordon (10/5): Overnight stay. - We were delighted with our stay at the Red Lion. A very warm welcome on arrival, with friendly helpful staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had an evening meal which was delicious. The food was lovely and the prices reasonable.
Breakfast the following morning was equally as good.
We would definitely stay again and can recommend the Red Lion. Nothing.
- Steve (4/5): Disappointing - Lovely staff, great location
Very comfortable bed Lots of flies everywhere, no soap on sink
- Maxine (10/5): Absolutely loved it. - Old looking Nothing
- Christopher (9/5): Great stay - The Red Lion is a lovely traditional inn. The hosts are very friendly, make great food and the service is superb. The room was spacious and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt it was excellent value for money. The one and only negative for us was that despite the room being perfectly clean on the main surfaces, we noticed a significant amount of dust and webs in corners, on pictures and behind furniture. This could put people off. A detailed dusting and hoovering would soon rectify this. Everything else about the property and staff was excellent.
