El check in y check out ágiles.
Zeer goed gelegen .
- Mary (9/5): One of kind hotel in a beautiful part of the world. - The hotel is location just outside of the town of Jose Ignacio on a very quiet road. The beach and the Lagoon are pristine.
The breakfast at the hotel great and offer many choices. The floating rooms are spacious and well appointed. A great place to relax. We arrived late due to a flight delay the reception stayed open until we arrived. This is an Eco hotel, there are no TV's in the room. The step board to your floating room is a bit narrow can be challenging when you have larges pieces of luggage.
- Silvana (10/5): Muyyyyyyy hermoso pasamos ❤️ - Todo !!!!!!
No cumplió nuestras expectativas

- Sarah (10/5): - Idyllische Lage,super sauber.

- Jean-Marie (4/5): - Very friendly staff BUT..... the entire resort ooze negligence and severe lack of maintenance..... a place deemed to become a slumb!

- Anjali (9/5): Superb - The location is very beautiful. The cabin had all the facilities and was very comfortable. There are activities that you could do like kayking, cycling Less vegetarian friendly options on the restaurant menu
- Valentina (10/5): Excelente - Muy bueno todo
- Macrae (1/5): We didn’t - It was so windy one of us could not go on the boardwalk without being blown into the water. The ramp down to the room only had a rope, which was very difficult for 69 year-old with bad knee.. you could not flush the toilet paper which was just gross. The food and the restaurant was minimal and really only appetizers as it closed at seven so in the end we booked another hotel which was fabulous and a lot less money.
- G de l (10/5): - Amazing place! Specially to relax
- Meaghan (10/5): In my top ten hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Highly recommend. - The views from this hotel are incredible. Perfect for sunset. They didn’t have any dinner hours which would have been nice but not needed.
- Andreas (9/5): Superb -
- Luis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leonor (10/5): We had a wonderful time. - The location is stunning. Beautiful views from our bedroom.
Fantastic nature all around.
Amazing and very friendly staff.
- Jacky (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (8/5): Nice place especially if you want to just hang out and relax - Lovely little rooms and a nice restaurant for breakfast. Simple but good, staff very helpful
- Christian (8/5): Very good -
- Rodolfo (8/5): Very good -
- Agustin (6/5): Nice but not worth the price - Great ambience and location. Good initiative with the bungalows on the water. The complex as a whole is old and seems unattended. Like there was no investment for years. The bungalows are pretty basic and very deteriorated. There was not enough hot water for two showers. The water on the shower does not drain as the floor is uneven, so it gets stuck and , as a consequence, the wood smells. There’s no net for the mosquitoes, so you need to keep the door shut all the time. The breakfast was terrible. Not even coffee and you have to grab the ham and cheese with the fingers. After all , it was a nice experience , but it is not worth the price whatsoever (usd 250). It should be promoted as basic cabins on the water.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): A floating sanctuary of serenity - From the moment we arrived at this magical floating hotel, I knew it would be special. The location is breathtaking, the accommodations perfectly balance rustic charm with modern comfort, and the hotel's eco-initiatives are genuinely inspiring. But what truly sets this place apart is the staff. Their warmth, attentiveness, and dedication to making our stay special was unparalleled. Whether it was local recommendations, a private excursion to scenic spots or individualized arrangements for our needs. We will definitely come back to this place that feels like a dream home that was very hard to leave.
- Jorge (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cindy (10/5): A special experience - Laguna Garzon is a unique and gorgeous setting. Fish were jumping around our cabin all afternoon. The resto is beautiful. We ate some of the jumping fish for dinner. Fantastic! And the breakfast was excellent as well. It was a quiet day and we were invited by the owner/manager? to hang out. There was no rush to check out.
- Annemarie (10/5): A one-off! We would definitely return. - Unique location. Excellent staff. Wonderful experience Maybe a good idea to include a little wiper cleaner for the shower to prevent water sitting against the wooden wall.
- Cristina (9/5): It was our first time there. We’ll definitely be back! - It was our first experience to stay over the water and seeing and hearing the fish jumping around all day felt wonderful. Beautiful nature around.
The staff were very nice and helpful. Good food at the restaurant. Getting to the lodge platform felt a bit unsafe because of the low level of the lagoon due to the dry spell. That was specially so when carrying luggage, though the staff helped doing it themselves.
- Dubarry (4/5): Disappointing -
- Sam (9/5): So unusual to be staying in a charming floating house -- everyone should try it for the comfort. - The unique novelty of staying in a room that was its own self-contained little house, floating on the water of the lake was delightful. The view, the quiet there made the stay very relaxing. The whole area around Jose Ignacio with its endless lovely farmland on the gentle rolling hills and closeness to the ocean and the lake, not to mention the many various restaurants and the amazing Rizoma bookstore (www.rizomalajuanita.com -- with books in English too) all contribute to the sense of a romantic kind of dream, a true escape from conventional life. Slightly risky challenge handling our excessive luggage while walking on the narrow docks over the water.
- Patricia (10/5): Amazing Experience in this Hotel! - Everything was so great! the attention of the staff especially Pia & Mauricio going far and beyond to make us feel welcomed!!! Pia even went out of her way to help us with the luggage!! Just overall a beautiful experience! you have many activities that you can do like kayaking (which I highly recommend). if you want to enjoy Uruguay I highly recommend to stay here.
P.S if you love stargazing this is the best place! Nothing, everything was amazing!
- Samuel (7/5): fabulous location, friendly and attentive staff. rooms a little tired - location of the floating rooms in the lagoon is outstanding the rooms need a refresh. the mattress was extremely uneven and uncomfortable. the manager said he would replace it
- Claudia (2/5): HOTEL CERRADO UNA VERGIENZA - Estaba CERRADO.
- soluble (10/5): Glamping, laguna waves rock you to sleep + excellent wildlife & kayaking - It is a floating log cabin, very eco-friendly made from re-purposed materials, not so much a luxury resort. Jose Ignacio 15 minutes just down the road is more Hampton-esque if that is what you are looking for.
weirded out by the review about the bugs, almost like it's not possible? The entire place is covered in birds. Didn't even have to use bug spray, no problem with mosquitoes. Maybe that guy stayed in a cabin near the kitchen? I had a similar situation in a cabin in India -- the ones nearest the kitchens always have a pest problem. I did see 2 large spiders off our own gangplank.
We, however, LOVED our stay, no bad bugs, enjoyed every sunset, went kayaking every day. We even saw a capybara!!! It was glorious.
Considered giving this a 4 stars because the queen mattress is really 2 twin beds squished together and bathroom window needs to be open at all times but their on-site chef makes good enough food to justify rating. Excellent for the money. Dog-friendly hotel too. Kayaks included in price.
- lgrant165 (10/5): A Truly Lovely and Peaceful Place - My partner and I just spent three lovely and peaceful nights at the Laguna Garzon Lodge. Located about 20 minutes from the "Hamptons" like vibe of Jose Ignacio, and about 40 minutes from the Miami Beach frenzy of Punta del Este, Laguna Garzon consists of 12 rustic cabins that float on the Laguna Garzon, a bird and fish sanctuary. Each cabin has its own deck from which you can jump directly into the lagun, outfitted with beach chairs and a hammock. You can spend your days floating on your deck and rocking back and forth in your hammock, or go across the street to a pristine and virtually empty beach, whose brown sands and foamy white waves seem to stretch for miles. There are also certain water sports nearby. The lodge itself is informal, done in beachy chic, with repurposed materials, ie. old fishing baskets as lampshades. We took full advantage of the wonderful cook, who made us fresh meals each day (and made us feel like she was our personal chef). The staff is made up in part of members of the nearby fishing village, and their catch of the day is often on the menu. The staff went out of its way to accommodate our needs.
I have only two caveats to this wonderful place: one, I highly recommend that you have a car, as we found taxi service (and Uber) to be expensive and often unavailable, and two, it would have been nice to have had a naturalist available who could have guided us through the wildlife in detail. Aside from those comments, this is truly a place for those looking for an alternative to the usual Uruguayan beach resorts.
- BenN869 (8/5): So relaxing - We were there off season, so while it’s great to have the place to ourselves, a lot of nearby restaurants were closed.
Still, the floating cabin was cool. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok. We enjoyed the lake and shore, great birding, even directly from the cabin.
- nancym910 (8/5): A unique and wonderful lodge - Floating on Laguna Garzon, the lodge is wonderful. It is quiet, away from the crowds in Jose Ignacio. The lagoon was perfect for kayaking (kayaks available at no charge) and when the wind picked up, was full of kite surfers. From out little porch, the sunset was spectacular. It is a very simple place (no television which we liked). Each cabin is floating on its own dock. The main building has a lovely dining room and porch overlooking the lagoon. A spectacular beach is right across the street, and La Balsa, a very good restaurant, is a short walk up the road.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place was one of the most memorable places I’ve stayed in my life! The cabins are in the water, so when it was very windy, the whole room was swaying. It was fun for us, but it may be a little too much for others. The location and view was just amazing. You could just jump into the water right in front of your room. Inside of the room was much better looking than what you would expect from outside.
- ana (10/5): Recomendable - Buenísimo nos encanto
- KenPauline (8/5): Taking the stress out of things - Located 5km after Jose ignacio, The Laguna Garzon Lodge, is a simple, friendly and quiet place to escape to to relax. Each floating cabin is clean, comfortable and gives great views over the lake and for sunsets in the evening. We have been twice and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- joseandreaaya (10/5): What a Stay! - If you want a different experience in the José Ignacio area, this gem is a must! The property is located just north of the Laguna Garzon bridge offerings the most tranquil stay, unbelievable sunset, and amazing moonlight reflection on the water while you sleep.
Now, what made this stay extra special was the love that the staff projects to its guest. Matias, Andrea, Pablo and of course Borbon, are truly special!
- spacecase49 (10/5): A few days in paradise! - I spent three amazing nights at the Laguna Garzon Lodge, and I would return there in a heartbeat. If you're looking for a relaxing and beautiful spot to vacation, this is your place. The rooms are private floating cabanas, with comfy beds and the water to rock you to sleep at night. All of the rooms are positioned for greatest privacy, and don't share walls. The sunsets and stars at night were phenomenal. The owners and staff were so helpful and kind (including giving me a ride back to Punta del Este, which was such a lovely and generous surprise). There are no TVs, so if that's what you're looking for you're in the wrong place, but I didn't miss one as I caught up on my reading or simply sat on the deck and watched for wildlife (the otters were my favorite!). The beach is a short walk away, but I was just as happy sitting in my hammock on the patio.
I was there during the off-season, so there wasn't much activity, but that fit my goals of relaxation perfectly. I spent my days walking around the beautiful natural area and reading books in gorgeous spots. It really felt like paradise and was difficult to return to a city after being there.
I would recommend having a car, particularly if you are travelling in the off-season. There simply weren't really food options within walking distance. The hotel staff were very willing to call me a cab into Jose Ignacio (about 8km away), so that is always an option, but there weren't walkable choices.
Voltaremos!!
- Experience630342 (10/5): We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay! - We had been previously for drinks and tea or a meal but this year we had a wonderful few nights stay during Easter week at the end of March 2018. In fact we enjoyed it so much that we requested 2 more nights and luckily they had room for us for the week nights so our 2 night stay became a 4 night stay! The room was gorgeous - we had one of the cabins for 3 people which was perfect for us and our 15 year old daughter. All the rooms are little floating cabins that you reach from the entrance and restaurant along boardwalks. My husband had a boot on one foot following Achilles' tendon surgery and had to take care at certain points but it was manageable!
Pablo and Andy really look after the lodge and also the guests. it was great to talk to them about the special care they take of the wooden cabins in the water and also the care that they take with the beautiful lagoon where they are based. They obviously love it and appreciate what they have. We were extremely lucky to see a wonderful large otter-like animal come up to visit and sun bathe on the deck of one of the nearby cabins! We also enjoyed seeing the hundreds of birds and scenery around the lagoon when we went for a boat trip on the lagoon for several hours one day.
Breakfasts were delicious and the restaurant terrace was special for teatime card games or chats! We had a couple of good evening meals but it was too chilly to be out on the terrace at night. There were a few restaurants still open (out of the main summer season) in nearby Jose Ignacio. The lodge has kayaks and other little boats. I didn't ask if they had bikes for hire but that would be fun and easy since the area is flat.
All in all a superb, peaceful and renewing few days. Our 15 year old nature lover was in heaven and perfectly happy to be hanging out with us, reading books, instagramming the amazing photos she took etc!
O pôr do sol aqui é fantástico, rendeu algumas fotos lindas.
- FriederNeu (8/5): Really beautiful. - We had a pleasant stay in cabine 6..Wind and waves rocked the cabine slightly at night, which was really enjoyable and we slept well. Breakfeast was good with a selection of fruits, toast and several cereals. Staff very friendly and helpful. Watersports available and on opposite side of lagune is the windsurf center of Uruguay. We would stay there again.
Me encantó
Volvería a ir
- JOAN E (10/5): Peaceful retreat wish we had another day!!! - Best accomodations during our entire stay in Uruguay!!!
- Jeanette (10/5): A unique and relaxing experience - We only stayed at Laguna Garzon Lodge for one night regrettably. It is a truly special place run by two knowledgeable hosts who care deeply about the place they live. Will definitely return!
- kukita88 (2/5): Bad experience - I was there for lunch . Not a dog friendly restaurant, even if the tables are outside.
Expensive, but the quality of the meal was good. The man that is at the front desk was very dry and rude ,no manners whatsoever and one of the waiters seemed to be hired without service experience.Such a nice location,it is a shame that the personnel hire was picked untrained.
- e3lena (10/5): Very special place - I absolutely loved everything about Laguna Garzón Lodge!
It is a perfect place to run away from hustle and bustle of the city to a beautiful nature, a peaceful environment and to experience an unusual type of the accomodation.
I also liked the opportunity to use kayaks, to have a super fresh (the same with the breakfast) and delicious dinner.
Big thanks to the owners and to very kind employees.
- Simonel_SCC (8/5): Peaceful night/day by the water. Remember to go in good company ... - It is February, the days are still beautiful, prices are lower than in January, Laguna Garzon Lodge is a great spot for a weekend away. Not much of infra-structure but a great and comfortable room surrounded by water, a peaceful feeling. Very good breakfast served in the main house/restaurant, that is only opened to guests. There are not many things to do in the hotel, but we loved our cabin and our time away. It is better for couples or families with older kids
- lauramH4125JM (2/5): Dont go for this one! Never stay there! - Very very bad maintenance, stained towels, dirty room!
Waaaaay too expensive for what they charge!
Price is 5 star, but the room os worse than hostel!
Poor breakfast!
They say they are ecoresort, and might use it as a appeal for their lack of care in the room, but we didnt buy it!
It's not a problem at all being a simple hotel, with simple rooms, but the lack of maintenance and cleaning, is not ok at all!
- shuchat (8/5): Peace at last - After spending 4 wonderful nights at a 5 star property in fabulous Buenos Aries we were ready to continue our journey to Uruguay and to the Laguna Garzon Lodge. We landed in Montevideo and picked up our car (A DEFINITE MUST) and with the GPS guiding our way we proceeded to Laguna Garzon. The Lodge was not hard to find and approaching it at twilight time, it looked almost magical.
Greeted by the owner and two able bodied men to take our luggage, we followed on the boardwalk leading to our Cabin. Upon entering the very minimalistic cabin, my wife and I looked at each other in utter disappointment. Everything was bare bones, no television, no phone, nothing to distract you from the awesome surroundings of the lagoon, its tranquility, and serenity. We soon forgot about Buenos Aries, the beautiful suite we enjoyed, the hustle and bustle, and settled into a paradise.
The staff was extremely cordial and always inquiring if there was something they could do. The chef was a wizard and since there were no menus other than the daily special, he would cook you anything you would like. Needless to say the food was wonderful, in fact I had the best Rib Eye steak so far, and thats comparing to the great steaks we had in Argentina. Same for the chicken, lamb, and fresh fish.
The pictures of the property are very accurate, and leaves nothing to the imagination.
This is a different kind of holiday, a cleansing of the mind and body. If you want to rekindle your relationship this is certainly the place to go to.
- Anand (10/5): Floating in bliss - This property was truly amazing. You're floating on a lagoon, and the land that it's attached to is separated from the ocean by mere meters of sand. We stayed there before a new bridge connecting across the lagoon to the mainland opened so we had to take a ferry over each time we wanted to cross. The bridge is slated to open in mid-December which will mean easier access for anyone that stays here but also likely a little bit more traffic. The one downside is room 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, & 10 now will have a partial view of the bridge so it's not as natural a view as rooms 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, & 12. Regardless of which room you're in, you'll be floating on the water (sea-sickness warning for those extremely sensitive) with a gorgeous view across the lagoon with the occasional wind- or kite-surfer to amaze you. You'll get a very isolated feeling and the nearby beach in particular is very isolated. The property also has a restaurant attached which serves free breakfast and then a quite excellent daily rotating dinner option if you choose not to go into José Ignacio or one of the other nearby towns. Overall, highly recommended.
- Cassie216 (10/5): Do Not Miss the Opportunity to Stay Here - I wish our brief one-night stay at Laguna Garzon Lodge could have been extended by two weeks! My boyfriend and I typically stay in guesthouses, but we decided to splurge for the last night of our trip to Argentina and Uruguay. I could not imagine a better place to stay to end our trip.
We visited in March, and the lodge was far from full, which meant we were able to enjoy the beautiful setting in peace and serenity. The room was very clean, and I loved the slight rock you could feel from the water. At night, we saw the most stars I have seen in my entire life from our porch. There is almost no light pollution here. Breakfast was more than plenty, and the setting was perfect.
We did not rent a car, but were able to use the bikes to go to/from Jose Ignacio. I believe the journey was about 4 miles, and it was HOT. The sun is very strong in Uruguay, so make sure you bring sunscreen. There were also kayaks, but we did not have the time to use them. Laguna Garzon would be an ideal place to kayak, as the water is very quiet.
Andrea is an amazing owner, and you can tell she really puts her heart and soul into the lodge. She made sure that our short stay was very comfortable.
Overall, if you have the opportunity, don't hesitate to stay at the Laguna Garzon Lodge. Also, I would definitely recommend a long lunch at La Huella.
- Golightly_travelling (8/5): Romantic - with little faults - Really beautiful setting and the floating houses are charming and well equipped. Very quiet.
Unfortunately nobody informs you that you have to use a ferry to get there which closes at 10 p.m. Also no information that due to the construction of the bridge nearby the view is not quite as romantic as the photos suggest and that you have noise in the daytime.
When we arrived the reception guy didn't speak English which was a bit challenging but we managed. Breakfast is very basic but served in the main building in a very relaxed way. When we were there in the off season there was no possibility to have dinner at the hotel - which meant driving to José Ignacio or somewhere else and (due to the ferry) be back at 10 p.m.
The setting is really unique, but the place is overpriced at the moment, considering the construction site and the ferry service.
- 583bertor (10/5): The beauty of silence - Laguna Garzon is great for body and soul, as well as for your heart. We spent a few wonderful days in this remarkable hotel. The birds, the lagoon, the beach, everything is wonderful. And out of the blue came a lovely stray-dog. He followed us on an long trip on the beach. We baptiese him Dolce Garçon. In this lovely animal we recognized the peaceful nature of the environment and the people who live and work here. Everything is inspiring, in Laguna Garzon, ..

- Gregory (10/5): A classy, unusual place bordering civilization - This is a wonderful, unusual "resort" with about 20 houseboats on the Laguna Garzon . One night in November, there was a thunderstorm, and the houseboat rocked firmly but gently. I had no problem sleeping. I felt comfortable simply reading, watching movies, relaxing, doing nothing and with no real contact to the noise of the outside world except for a kite-surfing school on the lagoon, which brings in students and adds to the atmosphere.
The staff is a delight, but they made two mistakes: First, one forgot to give me my passport after check in. I have previously been stranded because of that mistake, although I caught it in time on this trip. Second, there was something wrong with my reservation - at first they said I had only booked two nights, then it was that the credit card was uncooperative. That should have been rectified at the beginning rather than as I had to rush out the door for an early flight from Montevideo.
The hotel serves dinner for guests. If you don't want to go out - and after 8 that becomes a problem because a ferry to town stops. I would recommend exploring the nearby city of Jose del Ignazio - a Sotheby's hotspot with lots of good restaurants. One let us sample a marijuana dessert - the country is expected to legalize sale of the plant soon. Summary: this was a wonderful little place that I left relaxed and satisfied.
- jimbMadrid (8/5): Almost 5 stars - We stayed here for just one night in November and it was memorable. The place is beautiful, really quite exceptional, and being able to sleep comfortably on a raft with the waters of the lagoon lapping at your feet is something we will never forget. The lagoon exudes peace and calm and a gentle kayak ride was lovely. And yet if you cross the dirt road only 50 meters away you find yourself on a spectacular atlantic beach of endless sand and crashing waves which is completely unspoilt and beautiful. The service was exceptional: Andrea is the owner and is very friendly Rodrigo is her manager and does everything he can to help. plus in the restaurant there is a spanish couple who are delightful.
The cost of the room was very resaonable as it wasnt quite season yet.
Our only small criticism was that the dinner was quite limited and expensive. Very nice restaurant and the food was good even if limited choice. But at 40 dolars US without drinks it was no bargain!
One final comment... If you arrive from José Ignacio you have to cross on a small ferry until they finish building the bridge sometime in 2015. Currently there is a bit of a building site and so
