The staff was friendly and accommodating. The entire facility and room were clean. The room was more spacious than expected and included a mini kitchen. Easy to get to as it's right off I-80. It shares a parking lot with a gas station, the view from our room was the gas pump island which wasn't a big deal since we weren't there for the view. There were a few long haul trucks parked running all night so if you like grey noise while you sleep you'd love that, not our thing though. The bed and cleanliness are almost the only thing I cared about and the bed was awful. It was so depressed in the middle it was like sleeping in a giant soup bowl.

• Kent (8/5): - The only negative was the breakfast, the waffle maker was broken and hadn't been replaced yet. But I'm sure it wasn't the hotel's fault. Staff was friendly & helpful. Everytime I come to newton I stay here. It's close to I-80 so it's convenient to travel.

The bed was like a hammock, everything rolls to the middle which made sleeping even more difficult. To top it all off I paid for the stay in advance only to discoverd my card was later charged $25 for undisclosed “incidentals”. Very deceptive and underhanded. Never Again!!!

• 328bethd (10/5): Perfect customer service in a small unassuming hotel - Our twin nieces were graduating on Monday from Grinnell University, and we arrived on Sunday evening at the hotel. There was plenty of parking. Our room was on the first floor and had so much room. It had a small kitchenette and a counter and a couch. The bathroom was very clean. We settled in and my sister and I spent the evening on the balcony in the rear of the hotel overlooking a large field where we were able to watch the sunset. Breakfast was eggs, biscuits and gravy, danish, and bread. The staff were very kind. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Brad, Mark, Matt and Trista were so great to work with and accommodated all of our requests. We had 10 rooms for multiple nights. The breakfast area served as our family hangout space. The service overall was great, rooms were comfortable and well appointed. Every space was clean. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thanks to all the staff for making a tough week just a little bit better!

• C914VXjessicac (10/5): Great little hotel - In town for a wedding with mt family of 5. We arrived very late on friday night/early Saturday, Thaddeus at the front desk was very cheerful and helpful. He was able to find us a roll a way even though I failed to request one at booking. He did it all with a smile. Every other staff member we encountered was equally as kind and helpful. Great little hotel!
• jkweebs (8/5): This is a great place to stay in the area - We stayed here while attending a family reunion in the area. We stayed two nights. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The rooms are spacious and have nice views from the back of the building. The breakfast is nice, with a couple of options each morning, and well-stocked throughout the time we were there. Overall, I would give the Hotel a 4 out of 5. It needs some updating, but is well maintained.
• ronq682 (10/5): A wonderful Stay at a wonderful Hotel - We were traveling to Nebraska to take part in the Willa Cather Conference and stopped in Newton at the Cobblestone Inn. We have stayed in the past, so we're expecting good things. We were Not disappointed! Everyone on the staff was so friendly and welcoming. They must have all graduated from Customer Service University. The room was clean, large and had a great view. Breakfast in the morning was filled with good food and other guests who were great to chat with. We will always stop at the Cobblestone when we go through Newton!

The welcome could not have been warmer and I appreciated the hospitality of the staff, particularly Trista (I hope I remembered your name correctly; thank you for helping me with my dress, and thank you for your kind words). The bed was comfortable and everything worked as it should. The furniture, however, is in need of replacement; renovation probably won’t help the badly peeling covers. It was surprising to see laundry piled up on the bar during the day. The room was clean and the wear did appear to be limited to the chairs and sofa. I will likely have to return to Newton in the future. I would happily stay here again if the odd bar/folding table situation is rectified, and if the furniture didn’t appear so shabby.
