Guest Reviews
- Katie (8/5): Excellent location - Dafydd was an excellent host. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about this stay was perfect. We couldn’t recommend staying here more - if we ever returned to the area in future, we certainly wouldn’t hesitate to rebook here. Our room was cosy, immaculately clean and more than big enough for the pair of us and our toy poodle, Patsy. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and HUGE!!!
Breakfast was 10/10 each morning and with only 4 rooms on site, it felt really intimate meeting the other guests each morning. Dafydd and Jo were so entertaining, with Jo especially treating Patsy like royalty each morning. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble.
We can’t thank the pair of you enough and wish you both the absolute best for the future. Love and licks from Patsy x
- mandy (8/5): - Clean and convenient
- Anna (10/5): Lovely stay at Plenty Farm - Really comfortable stay.
- Karen (10/5): - We have just had a long weekend at Blas Gwyr it was superb. The rooms are spacious and very clean around a lovely little court yard. Breakfast is the best 10/10. The very best thing is Dayfdd who is a fabulous host and made us very welcome. If you are visiting the Gower stay at Blas Gwyr you wont be disappointed.
- Mee Kuan (10/5): - Nice, quaint property close to Rhossili Bay and perfect for our 2 night stay. Shower was nice and hot! Dafydd was great and nice for him to share some of his stories with us!
- Linda (10/5): Really enjoyable stay. - We had a lovely stay. Accommodation, village setting and host were perfect. Thankyou Dafydd for a lovely stay. We fell in love with the gower so hopefully will be back.
- Valerie (8/5): - Plenty of walks for dogs, excellent pub nearby. Good choice of breakfast. Very comfortable bed.
- Martyn (10/5): Great place highly recommended - Great place. Well decorated, very comfortable and excellent location for exploring Gower. Dafydd our host was excellent and breakfast was delicious.
Great place. Highly recommended.
- tony (10/5): - Excellent stay , brilliant host .
- Brad (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, with a friendly host. Couldn’t ask for anything more!
- lesley (10/5): - Tastefully decorated. Large shower area and very hot water.Good location for walkers. Very friendly staff.
- Katharine (8/5): - Nice to be able to come and go during the day. Good to have a kettle and drinks facilities. A bit dark and hot, but the weather was hot. Nice breakfast. Llangennith rather busier than expected. Very welcoming hosts.
- Heather (10/5): Tara’s mini break 🐾 - Perfect base for two night pet friendly break. Short drive to the beach & only few min walk to the local pub (very dog friendly). Our room was very spacious, nice comfy bed, large sofa, thoughtful touches such as the waffle dressing gowns were appreciated. Tea, coffee & biscuits with daily top ups if required. One of Dafydd’s hearty breakfast’s will set you up for the day. Would certainly recommend & look forward to a return visit soon.
- Owain (10/5): Perfect stay, excellent breakfast - Delightful visit. The property is lovely, perfectly located in Llangennith and only 5 mins walk to the pub for food, or a longer walk over the hill to Llanmadoc. Great bed, beautiful bathroom. The breakfast was superb, with Dafydd (owner) pulling out all the stops for my vegan wife. Would love to return soon.
- Simon (8/5): - A lovely property in the village, walkable distance to the beach, along a small road giving great views into the open countryside.
Hearty breakfast(s) are made to order, by the friendly hosts in the morning, (after putting order in via text the evening before) & we visited the local pub for our evening meals.
Definitely a returning venue.
- Sharon (8/5): Beautiful Gower - Beautiful room in a wonderful location. Amazing breakfast
- Andrew (10/5): Highly recommended - Great pre-communication by the owner, Dafydd. Lovely room, fully equipped with useful local information and tips. Well situated for a myriad of walks. Look forward to staying again sometime.
- Alan (10/5): A treasure on the Gower. - Fantastic property. Well appointed and comfortable rooms. Brilliant location. Dafydd the owner is a real character. Lots of useful local knowledge and very entertaining, an excellent host. I will definitely return and can highly recommend this property.
- Alistair (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Excellent room, excellent location, good service and hospitality
- Beth (6/5): Comfortable stay - Stayed at Blas Gwyr for a wedding at local venue Fairy Hill. 10 minutes drive away and great location, very beautiful part of the world!
Room was very pleasant but floors and blinds were very dusty and think it would benefit from a deep clean! Bed was super comfy but very few creature comforts…hooks to hang up rain jackets would be a great addition and we had to ask for hand soap (totally understand toiletries aren’t being provided at this time but would expect sanitiser/soap in the loo).
The boiler is VERY noisy in the morning, a strange clicking and buzzing sound from 7am which wasn’t the most relaxing. 5pm check in and 10am check out with no flexibility.
Also no wifi or signal in the room we stayed in.
Breakfast was delicious!
- Louise (8/5): Great stay, fab location! - Great location and lovely spacious room, breakfast was lovely and very friendly host, good information via email before the stay
Would stay again
- Anna (10/5): The warmest welcome - Absolutely fantastic. Perfect location. Host accommodating, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
- Kieran (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Room and services were great.
Stayed in Eithin, although covid restrictions were in place this did not affect our stay.
The room was really warm, luckly we brought a fan. Even with the skylight open we ciuldnt catch a breeze.
Overall cleanliness was good but we did find some hairs in the corner of the room. The toilet seat was cracked and shower tends to make the whole bathroom wet, where a little screen may had stoped this. But this had no effect on our stay. Nice furnishings but the antique chair in our room had seen better days.
Lovely breakfast and Daffyd was welcolming and chatty throughout.
- Catrin (10/5): Diolch yn fawr iawn. - Everything was brilliant. We highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location for exploring Gower.
Dafydd is a great host
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Well maintained, clean and warm, love!y comfy bed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a lovely stay here, comfy room, great breakfast and the owner was lovely too 😃
A great location for exploring and walks.
- Lisa (10/5): Highly recommended - Absolutely loved our stay .. warm, comfortable and homely feel.
Dafydd was a fantastic host nothing too much trouble ... plus he cooked a first class breakfast.
We will most definitely be returning!! Great food at the local pub and only a short stroll away.
- Mark (10/5): Great rooms, top location, fabulous breakfast - Fabulous B&B in the heart of the glorious Gower Peninsula, walking distance from Rhosslil Bay.
Room was really comfortable, huge bed and epic shower in the wet room.
Dafydd is quite the host with many a tale to tell as he cooks breakfast. His Glamorgan sausages are special and the bacon thick, like gammon. In his words: ‘you don’t want bacon you can see London through’ - apparently it was his mum’s saying.
The Kings Head serves a good pint of Gower ale and fairly decent pub grub. If you want a treat head to the Britannia in Llanmadoc.
Thanks for a great long weekend.
- Bossyjinx (8/5): - Good host very knowledgable. Comfy room but missed WiFi which was only available in the courtyard. Also missed a dressing table area which could have been provided at the top of the stairs next to the bathroom. Full Welsh breakfast excellent but would have liked a fish alternative.
- Dr Rachel L (10/5): Fab! - Lovely stay. Welcoming and extremely friendly host. Great breakfast. Beautiful area.
- Dave (8/5): Chalet style B&B in nice rural village - Our stay provided us with a reasonable chalet and a good breakfast with a good pub in the village. Plenty of opportunities to walk and further places within reasonable distance to visit and explore. A 'get away from it all' experience.
- Lionel Gower (2/5): No worth it! - C-R-A-P
- Abby (10/5): - Amazing place and the service was great. Higly recommend!
- Martyn (10/5): - Lovely place to stay. Beach just down the road
- herb (10/5): Best location ever. - our experience from the start was awesome. we travelled to mumbles first stop, the town was busy with a run/cycle charity event. we then travelled to three cliff beach which involved a lovely walk and beautiful beach. by then it was time to check in at Blas Gwyr. we found it easily and had off road parking right by door. our host was helpful, happy, chatty gentleman. our location was ideal for long/short walks. we walked over hill to Rhoselli and worms head, the beach there has to be one of the best. the local pub in Llangennith is welcoming, food good. there is also the Brittania pub in Llanmadoc a few miles away, food first class. we have had the most amazing weather for end of march, but no matter what, the Gower is beautiful and I hope to return.
- Robert (10/5): Winter break - We had three excellent nights at Blas Gwyr. Dafydd looked after us well and is a mine of useful information. The room we had (grug) had a lovely comfortable bed and a walk in wet room shower. Another boon given the time of year (February) was the under floor heating. The breakfast was excellent and the Welsh cakes particularly so. Blas Gwyr is about a mile from the fantastic Rhossili Beach, one of the finest beaches in the world.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely escape - Would definitely stay again! It was a lovely little escape near the gorgeous Rhossili bay which you can walk to to find amazing views of the worms head! The room was clean and had great facilities. You can tell the owner cares a lot about his business .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room very comfortable. Very nice Welsh breakfast and great host. Would recommend.
- Flic (10/5): excellent - Booked this hotel last minute for a weekend in Wales by the sea. It's a great location, room was lovely and clean. Staff very friendly that made you feel very welcome. Food was also excellent. Had a lovely weekend. Would definately stay here again.
- Christine (8/5): Village location, near to stunning beaches. - A great little find and the owner was good fun and made you very welcome.
However If I had known it was so close to the road I Might not have booked this B and B or would have asked for the quieter room.
I wrongly thought it was a farm location!
- maureen (8/5): Nice hotel but very overpriced - Nice room but bathroom was up a flight of stairs in bedroom to fill kettle for tea and use of the toilet in the middle of night was not advisable without putting on light which could disturb partner.
- mark (8/5): - Nice hotel , not that easy to find . Rooms really clean and well presented. Table and chair outside of room was a little annoying when other guest sat outside smoking
- David (8/5): A very pleasant B & B - We have just spent two nights at Blas Gwyr. It's a nice, unpretentious B & B in a good location and Daffyd is a very friendly and helpful host.
- Patrick (10/5): Great Gower Getaway - Blas Gwyr is a lovely escape. The village is a quiet gem on the Gower, with sheep and ponies wandering around the streets. We were attending the wedding of our God son at Rhossili and decided to make it a two night stay. Rooms are arranged around a court yard so you have your own front door key with breakfast served in the dining room just a few metres away. Could not fault anything. For weddings it is ideal because when you arrive back in the early hours you don't need to disturb anyone else. Mikes Taxis also offer a great service.
- Michael (8/5): Wonderfully remote and away from it all. - Solidly builtcootage rooms around a court yard. No phone signal!
The owner is Ex-Welsh Rugby star and raconteur - to liven up breakfast, which offers a few welsh delicacies.
Some great places to eat but you'll need to pay more
Fairy Hill Restaurant with rooms - book 24hrs ahead for afternoon tea.
Bitannia Inn in Llanmadoc - book the restaurant - last orders 8pm.
Kings Head Inn in LLangennith (4*) is disappointing, and evening meals need to had early - if going late make sure its something they've had to cook fresh!
Lovely walk to Rhossilli along the beach and the Hotel Bar food after the climb off the beach is good - we had a window seat with spectaular views too.
A place to relax and have fun.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Located in small village with sheep roaming around - Good accommodation, rural setting near beach great place for base for walking
- Ben (10/5): Good facilities, great location. - Friendly host. Good location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed one night but would happily have stayed longer!
Really lovely rooms with which felt cosy and homely but also luxurious. Very comfortable bed & great shower- weird maybe but a decent hotel shower is hard to come by!
Service was brilliant, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and the host Daffyd was welcoming & friendly
The beach is very close and has miles of white sands- all you really need to clear the cobwebs!
- Sue (8/5): - Very nice stay in beautiful area. The host Daffyd was welcoming and accommodating. Food was excellent. A guest couple and Daffyd gave me a ride into Swansea , which was very helpful as I did not have a car. The only other option was the bus, which I think came thru maybe 3 times a day-or a taxi
- Carole (10/5): 18th Century Farmhouse with Designer Accommodation - A rare breed - 18th century farmhouse with high-end/designer bedrooms, all set in a traditional welsh village only minutes from the coast. The warmth of the hospitality and the genuine desire on behalf of the owner to please were the icing on the cake. Will definitely return!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely place to stay. Host was extremely friendly and helpful. Bathroom looks lovely but can get bit damp as wet room means that water can spread. Food is excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Our 2 days away - We were delighted to enter our room, to be met with great ambiance. Lovely.
- Mark (10/5): A good location - Good nights rest with good breakfast the following morning.
- Ed and Laura (10/5): Friendly staff, good location, great rooms - The rooms are comfortable and nicely furnished, the staff are helpful and welcoming, the location is a comfortable walk from the beach and the breakfasts are great. Highly recommended.
