Guest Reviews
- Per-Arne (4/5): -
- Lo Ri (7/5): One night stay - The location is optimal. Quiet area. Very nice for a walk. Very good parking parking. The staff is welcoming. The AC not working well. No TV. The place is so beautiful... I believe it has a lot of potential to be improved. It was raining. Maybe in summer its better.
- Malcolm (6/5): Not what we expected but an enjoyable stay. - Having a restaurant on site was brilliant.
Scenery across vines gorgeous No signage..we spent about an hour up and down the road looking for them. Locals had to ring to find out where they were (they hadn't heard of them). The chef in the kitchen let us in...
We could not see Mt Etna at all.
- Anton (10/5): -
- Giulia (8/5): Very good -
- Toby (10/5): Excellent choice and highly recommend! - Was such a nice and tranquil stay in the countryside of Sicily. Luiza was a great and attentive host and very helpful. The tour in the winery, where the rooms are based, was a highlight of our stay. The rooms were clean and very spacious! Don't forget to check out the fresh produce on the estate!
- Wick (10/5): Exceptional - A real traditional winery. It has the looks and a swimming pool. We could help with making the actual wine!🙌🏼
- Mauricio (10/5): Glorious Etna - This place was lovely, right on the slopes of mount Etna. Guiseppe and Louisa were fantastic hosts and were very friendly and helpful. Good set up of our apartment with separate living space to bedroom with lots of room. Only downside was small shower and no AC. On the day we were leaving they were quite happy for us to take our time as room was free for that day so woke up late and after sorting ourselves out we took a tour of the winery. Guiseppe is a 6th gen wine maker who is making wine organically and the way he has updated making process while maintaining the history and heritage was fantastic, well worth it. We liked the fact that a restaurant is on site and their pizzas are great. We were lucky to be there on Guiseppe’s birthday, he had a pool party with food and wine and we were invited to join and enjoyed the evening especially as Etna was erupting in the distance and was a sight to behold, not to mention the wine was fantastic. We will definitely stay again
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice views . Gated area where children can play safely.
- Paul (5/5): Passable -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - We effectively had a “rustic farmhouse” in the middle of a working vineyard with views of Mt Etna. It was quiet, and calm and very pleasant interlude before continuing our explorations of Sicily.
- Luca (3/5): Not your typical agriturisme experience (and not for good) - A nice location among the vineyards, and a friendly dog coming to visit us once in a while. I expect an agriturisme to offer a local experience. Not a "the restaurant is closed, there's no breakfast, but you can find a discount supermarket close by". For that, I will book an Airbnb. I looked specifically for an agriturisme because of our wish to interact with local farmers and experience local products and food.
The excuse of "we're off season" doesn't hold: we were not informed, and would have not chosen this location if we would have known.
Also, seeing other guests happily peeing and hanging around naked at the swimming pool certainly didn't add to the experience. Some local staff presence might have prevented that?
- Ian (5/5): Not sure I'll be back - Location was ok Tin6 tiny bathroom large main room with a table and chairs and a sleeper couch sleeping for 5 in the bedroom!
- Nikita (5/5): Nice farm - The view The restaurant is only open in june, july and august. We were not informed about this in advance which was too bad as we expected to be able. We chose this location as we were curious to the wine experience and tasting, however the owner was not there so we have not seen or tasted any wine. the location itself was stunning. We only did not get any sleep as the dog they had made a lot of noise the whole night. The room was old, as we knew from the picture and fine. But it was dirty as well. I would recommend the accomodation in high season only (june, july, august) if the restaurant is open and you get the full experience.
- Melanie (10/5): - This winery-accommodation was simply magical. We had a friendly check in. After dinner, we returned to have a wine tasting. We bought some wine and sipped it by the pool as we watched the sunset. In the morning, we watched the sunrise over the vineyard. It was breath taking! Excellent service and experience.
- Daniela (10/5): Wonderful escape - Everything was perfect, from the easy communication with the host, to the beautiful setting in front of the Etna volcano and between the vineyards... I felt like at home... try the wines if u have any chance, they are great as well
- Nigel (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Margaret (5/5): Passable - The wine tasting was fun and interesting. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the waiter, even though he hardly spoke English, was very fun and nice.
- Mark (10/5): - Excellent location amongst the grapes, good local food in the restaurant
- Kateřina (9/5): very nice place, beautiful view, vineyard - Very nice place with a view of Etna and beautiful surroundings of vineyards. Nice, clean and cosy room, swimming pool, wine cellar with a good wine. Parking for free. No air-conditioning so we slept with open window and cars on the close road were little bit loud. The restaurant was nothing special and the personal in the restaurant was neutral (not very friendly, not unfriendly). It is apartment in vineyards but a corkscrew was missing on the room :D
- Viktorie (10/5): Exceptional - the stuff and breakfast was amazing!
- Annabel (10/5): Peaceful, scenic, just the loveliest place to stay - I made a mistake and booked us for 2 nights instead of one, and I am delighted to have made such a mistake. Tucked under the awesome sight of Mt Etna this delightful and spacious apartment was perfect. Amongst the wine grove, there is no winery, which is what we were looking for to stay on, but couldn't find the one for our dates. There is a restaurant which serves very nice food. They let us take a half litre jug of wine back to our apartment. We were lucky the day we woke up, not blue blue sky, but clear enough to see the black plumes of smoke belching from the grumbling mountain. The apartment had a clean bathroom albeit quite small, and as usual, a very tiny shower. Bed comfortable and spacious. Totally blacked out room and dead quiet for a good night's sleeping. Only thing is the wifi didn't make it at any speed up to the apartments, so don't rely on that
- Christie (4/5): - We liked the fact that it was close to etna mountain but the photos and site discription/ experiance expectation do not add up to what you actaully get. It wassss bad. First when we got there we had just drove through some erie towns with some roads covered in trash. Then to check in we waited around for 30min before anyone spoted us. We were put in this big room that was creepy. Not to mention there was fog which added to the scary atomphere. We had dinner there and i almost puked when i ate the sause on the meatballs. The bed in the room was so bad we barley slept and left at 7am the next morning and drove to Palemo and stayed at the Alma hotel which was amazing, even tho we had paid for 2 nights here. If you really want to stay in this area and do Etna valcano activities you can go to this place called Etna golf and Spa.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I have made Expedia aware that the advertised facilities are not there. There is not a restaurant on site. You are in a vine grove but there is no winery on site. There is no adequate air conditioning or shade from the heat. The pool is very small and away from the accommodation block. Furniture in the rooms is old. No WiFi on site and very poor phone signal.
This is not a good venue to stay. We arrived and departed within the hour accepting we had made a mistake not trusting the negative reviews and believing the inflated scores on the website.
There is a total lack of care from the owners and no information available on arrival.
- Jim (2/5): Terrible!! - False advertising. No winery, restaurant closed over 2 years ago! No wifi, checkin terrible. No one in staff speaks English or cares about anything. Room stark. In the middle of no where. Paid for 2 nights but left after one night, should get refund! Not even coffee available.
- Marita (6/5): Helt Ok - Fin plassering for besøk hos ulik vingårder i området.
- Antonina (8/5): Well, it is an Agriturismo. - I stayed one night and it was just me. Maybe this place is more for larger groups and in warmer weather.
The staff was very helpful. I discovered AS116 was closed in the direction I needed to go (discovered by chance) and they were helpful in finding another route for me.
They could improve the breakfast. The cereal was stale.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Poor service, depressing interiors - The photos make this place look nice, but the rooms are very basic and even falling a part (shower parts fall off, plugs have wires exposed, lamps missing light bulbs, had to ask for extra blankets), the pool is very small and is not kept clean and the service was horrible!!!! (We were asked what time we wanted breakfast as if it were included and then we found out they wanted to charge us 10 euros for coffee and a croissant--a situation they handled very unprofessionally; I also had to work the credit card machine myself as the woman working there had no idea how to use it). When we came back from dinner in a nearby town, we found the gate closed (they never warned us it would be closed) and had to call several times before someone came to let us in.
- kev and jill (8/5): well situated in vineyards - Situated in vineyards on slopes of mount Etna .
Great views....good location for visiting Etna
Takes about 1 hr to get to taormina.
- Karl (8/5): Spectacular view from Etna Wine - We stayed at Etna wine in August (2014), managed to arrive there using a GPS as it is found in a remote area but it was worth it! The estate is lovely and the view is spectacular. This is an ideal destination for those who want to get away from the city and the busy streets. The staff is very friendly and helpful, giving us information on the surrounding areas and also providing us with a delicious breakfast in the morning. The rooms are spacious, well kept and clean. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful--go! - Fantastic agristurismo, large and clean room (really an apartment), wonderful location and setting, warm hosts/hostesses. If you want a farm-style vacation site, go.
