Et il demande du liquide quand vous arrivez. Il m'a embrouillé et menacé pendant un quart d'heure parce que je lui ai juste dit que le produit vaisselle était trop dillué à l'eau, impossible de faire sa vaisselle. Bref à fuir. Sinon bon courage. Seul truc bien, pas trop mal placé, et encore. Worst experience of my life. I’ve stayed in around fifty hostels across the world, and this was by far the worst. The man at reception is extremely disrespectful he spoke to me like I was a child and even threatened to kick me out of the hostel at 11 p.m. despite the fact that I had already paid. He doesn’t listen to guests, constantly watches people through the cameras, and harasses them. The hygiene is terrible, and the rooms are really not great either. He also asks for cash when you arrive. He argued with me and threatened me for about fifteen minutes just because I pointed out that the dishwashing liquid was too diluted with water, making it impossible to wash dishes. Overall, avoid this place at all costs. Otherwise, good luck. The only positive point is that the location is not too bad and even that’s debatable.

• Margaux (5/5): Ok for a short stay (1-2 nights) but not more. - The price is attractive. Location is not far from the more touristic areas. The upper floors did not seem to be heated and the blanket was extremely thin. The staff was kind enough to provide two extra blankets but I still had to put every layer I had to survive the night. Bathrooms were also really cold. Outside temperature during our stay was 10deg celcius.

I had an amazing stay at The European Hostel in San Francisco, and honestly, everything exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the atmosphere was welcoming and calm, and the location is super convenient for getting around the city. What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was the front desk staff—especially Nick. From the moment I arrived, Nick was professional, kind, and incredibly helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable, answered every question with patience, and handled everything smoothly and efficiently. You can tell he genuinely cares about guests and takes pride in his work. It’s rare to find someone who combines warm hospitality, clear communication, and true professionalism the way Nick does. He really sets the standard and makes the hostel feel like a safe, friendly home rather than just a place to sleep. If you’re looking for a clean, well-run hostel with outstanding customer service, The European Hostel is the place to stay—and Nick at the front desk is a huge reason why. • SERKAN (1/5): If you don't want to get mugged, always carry 5-10 dollars in cash with you, especially for homeless - I had a terrible hotel experience. Nothing !!! Homeless people who defecate in the shower stalls are also the ones using marijuana in the rooms. I slept clutching my wallet and phone to avoid being robbed. It's a terrible hostel. Pay an extra $20, but don't devalue yourself. You could suffer a major trauma from the experience.

The owner of this hostel and the people behind it are complete crooks, they take the money for the reservation but do not provide the service, the hostel itself is located in the worst part of the city swarming by homeless people everywhere, the hostel itself is dirty, has a horrible stench of curry and rat excrements that will make you vomit within the very few moments of being there, staff is rude, arrogant and barely speaks any English! I have been in hundreds of hostels all over the world and this one is the worst! Avoid like a plague!

• SHABIR (1/5): One of the Worst Hostels.. - May be the location is good It was worst experience, i had a confirmed booking from Booking.com and everything paid, the guy at the reception says you dont have any booking here, and was such a rude and mannerless guy, and sounds like he owns whole city… After i said okay i will talk with booking.com while i was still inside, He was like youre in my property its tress-passing move out, such a bad experience. I dont know how such hostels are on booking.com

• Jack Han (5/5): - The hostel is just a few minutes’ walk from public transport stops, and the kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, and microwave. Bathrooms are sufficient where customers do not need to queue for it. The pillow filling is of poor quality and the mattress is very dirty, even though guests are provided with bed sheets and pillowcases to put on themselves. The bed frame is noisy when climbing up or down, and there is no privacy curtain installed. Additionally, cockroaches and mice have been seen in the kitchen.
• Harry Triplet (5/5): Good for youth not for older adults - If I did like anything I dont remember what it was unfortunately. I will say that everyone's experience is different, I can see some people easily thriving in an environment like this, while others might have a harder time. It's also worth noting this place is not really ment for individuals over the age of 30. I was able to get sleep though so that was nice. I will say if you have issue with sleep here I would just mention it to the staff I'm sure they might be able to help not 100% about that but seems like they might make an effort. Well, I didn't like that the place isn't called youth hostel because there is an age limit. i would suggest reading all the fine print. I wasn't a fan of the way I was treated by some of the guest but you get what you pay for and I believe the guy at the front desk makes a good effort to be nice, I'm sure he's much nicer to people who are in the age range. I wasn't a fan of the location although they do keep the street in the area clean. Overall I didn't like my stay but i was also 7 years older then the target audience I don't think I was ment to like it.

• Benjamin (2/5): - Manager was extremely rude, when I went to check out and give the key back he physically blocked me and started yelling at me and told me I had to wait for him to review security footage to make sure I had not taken a pair of his disgusting sheets, which I pointed at were on the floor in front of him. The disgusting hotel is only rivaled by the rudeness of the manager.

• Tayeb (2/5): - Disgusting place smells and looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since it was built over 100 years ago. It reeks of smoke and indian food. The walls have holes and are dirty and scratched. The bathroom are a messy and have poop on the walls. Ironic since he never stops mentioning that this is his property and that we need to keep everything looking good. Customer service is horrible. The owner is so full of himself and whenever you try to point something his excuse is always that they’re not or that the building is old. Also terrible area homeless crackheads everywhere and it never feels safe.

If one shower doesn't have hot water then you have to go into another shower that has hot water, problems with the light staying on, and a overflowing waste basket. No this place isn't big and fancy but it's a hole in wall place where it's quiet as soon as you get inside and place to get some sleep. It's worth its salt.

One thing that really stood out to me was seeing the front desk manager, Nick, personally taking care of the property. If he notices something doesn’t look clean or comfortable, he doesn’t wait for someone else—he will sweep, mop, and tidy up the rooms and kitchen himself. His goal is always to make sure every guest feels good energy and a positive vibe during their stay. Nick is always ready to assist guests with a smile, no matter how busy things get. Unfortunately, I also witnessed times when some guests disrespected him or even threatened him, simply because they didn’t want to follow the house rules. These are rules that keep a shared space clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. Sometimes people also leave bad reviews without realizing that they booked a shared facility with specific policies they agreed to before making a reservation. It’s important to understand how much effort and hard work Nick puts in every single day. He treats the hostel like his own home and works tirelessly to keep it safe and comfortable for all. • Will (1/5): Evil manager, disgusting hostel - The manager Nick is a pretty awful character. He threatened to throw me out because I lay down on the sofa and berated me for trying to check in without a credit card. On both occasions, I found myself forced to try and placate him or else risk having to book somewhere else to stay. The kitchen is infested with cockroaches, and the whole place is generally filthy. The beds are also comically squeaky, and I tend to turn in my sleep, so I would like to apologise to my roommates for that. The area also has a lot of drug addicts on the street so I didn't feel safe leaving alone at night. All in all, this is the worst hostel experience I've ever had, and I've stayed in some very sketchy places.

• Kenneth (2/5): Dirty, grimy, filth. & those who are long term stayers were rude. - I stayed in this Hostel 10 years ago and the front said "things have changed", I was placed in a room where it was obviouse that some people lived there. The clients that seemed ro live there were over run with long term stay lugage, food, trash etc. Let's be honest, it was a shelter for cheap long term stay people. Even the other guests traveling rebooked their stay to another place. This place is a shelter for those who stay for cheap. I was told there was an age limit but met/seen so many others that were older. The front desk person was not into hospitality. The night time person as well. The common eareas were stained & dirty, when the cleaning came they never announced themselves, it was a fly by "cleaning" . Some restrooms were out of order & no amenties like toliet tissie, sope etc. This place is not for the traveler it is now a long cheap stay for those next step homeless. See above responce.
