Guest Reviews
- Candace (10/5): - Monica the hostess was amazing. She was very welcoming and gave us plenty of tips on where to eat and where to go while all displayed on a map that we could take. It’s not your Ritz, but it had charm and it was in a very convenient area. Thank you again to Monica for being the best!
- sietze (10/5): - Wonderful host, perfect location, most definitely my first choice if I go back. Monica is absolutely wonderful!
- Yvonne (10/5): - Would definitely stay again
- Divya (10/5): - Great host and great stay! Monica does an excellent job at maintaining the property and welcoming guests. She gave us a map of Rome with her favorite recommendations highlighted and they were all spectacular. Would highly recommended this property!
- Rebecka (10/5): - Thank you so much for the stay Monica!
The host was there when we arrived. Showed us around and gave me a lot of information on where to eat and what so see.
The place is clean and quite. We shared bathroom but wasn’t any problem. Everting was very clean. No air condition but wasn’t to hot with two fans. It is an old house to it didn’t get to warm, even in the day when it was 30 degrees outside.
Simple place, worth the money.
This kids said that they want to stay hear next time.
- Peter (10/5): Perfect for the price - The hotel was in the middle of the city it is near to everything, and the host Monica raised the bar by beeing a host extraordinary!
- Anton (10/5): - Monica is amazing! We stayed for 3 nights and highly recommend :)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location of this property is tops. You are literally a 5 minute walk from either Piazza Spagna or Fontane di Trevi and a 2 minute walk to the Barberini Metro stop. Monica (general manager of the establishment) is amazing at what she does making you feel instantaneously welcomed by way of a light refreshment or coffee. She actually took time to review all the major attractions Rome has to offer while also offering her recommendations to a few that would garner excellent places to acquire a bird’s eye view of Rome. I have stayed at many 4 plus star establishments in the past and many of them would stand to learn a lot from the level of customer service provided by Monica at Night and Day. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Night and Day to those wanting to visit Rome. You are in great hands. Book with ease and enjoy your visit in Rome.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very good place to stay. - Staff was very helpful, provided maps, arranged taxis and gave helpful information.
- Gülçin (10/5): Gayet guzeldi :) - Konum harika, ev sahipliği cok iyi, günlük temizlik gayet iyi. Tavsiye ederim. Isletmecisi Monica'ya tesekkurler.
- Gerald (10/5): Central location - Great host and central location in Rome. Monica was very helpful advising best ways to get around d and where to eat. Highly recommend this place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome location in the heart of Rome! - Had a fabulous 4-night stay at Night and Day! Monica was a great host -- she was waiting at the door with a warm welcome upon my arrival, and she spent a good bit of time asking what I wanted to do and giving me maps with all the best attractions and restaurants circled. She had answers to all of my questions and went out of her way to ensure that I enjoyed my time in Rome. The room was nothing fancy -- but it was clean, safe, and in a perfect location to set out on foot for a couple days of touring around!

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Monica is a lovely host, and very helpful. It was ideal for us and close to centre and to transport.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location & service, within a walking distance of all historic sites
- Victor (8/5): - The property is a privileged spot for going to the Trevi Fountain. Also there is a convenience suspermarket nearby if you wish to dinner at the hostel. The installations are always clean, some are Little old, but there is no major complain. The only exception would be the shower of the shared bathroom which is with very high pressure in the water and the shower space is to narrow. Monica make us very easy our life in Rome as she welcome the guests with a very detailed explanation of the sorroundings. Rooms have no AC so they will be Little hot in summer. We definitively could consider to stay again in this place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Room is OK. Hostess is nice. Problem with billing - The room was large. Lots of closet space. No air conditioning, but breeze from window and fans kept the room fairly cool. Bathroom is in a common area, so less privacy when going to shower. Mattresses were uncomfortable. Definitely NOT Tempur-Pedic as stated in the listing. The lock on the room used a skeleton key, but the room was well-protected. Needed to unlock 4 doors to get into room.
This was probably a 5 minute walk from Trevi Fountain. There's a small grocery store just down the street and many nice restaurants nearby. About a 10 minute walk from the Barbarini metra stop.
Monica was initially wonderful. She met us on our arrival and gave us maps showing where all the tourist spots were. Had a cup of expresso with us.
However, had a big problem with room charges. Initially, she stated that the charges on our credit card weren't going through. We let her charge the room on another card. When we returned from vacation, discovered THREE charges for the same room. One was refunded. Sent her screen shots of our bank charges. It's been almost a month and she still hasn't refunded the other charge. Had to dispute it through the credit card company. Still haven't gotten the money back and also had to pay three fees for exchange to foreign currency. Very disappointing.
- Kelly (10/5): Awesome place to stay!! - My friend and I came to Rome for the weekend to explore and sightsee. Monica was very accommodating and greeted us upon arrival. She gave us maps labels with great local restaurants, a few of which we tried and loved! She also used another map to show us exactly how to get to all the important tourist attractions. The room was clean, comfortable and VERY conveniently located (less than 2 blocks from Trevi fountain). If I find myself in Rome again I will definitely be booking my stay at Night and Day! No complaints at all
- Vanessa (8/5): Rome: Mother/Daughter Trip - My daughter and I stayed for a week in mid October. Monica was very friendly and helpful. She gave us maps of Rome to help us find sites, subways, buses, restaurants and shopping. It was an excellent location, close to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and retail stores. It was nice to have an espresso coffee machine in the kitchen. You might want to pay extra for your own private washroom. We had to share with other people but everyone was friendly. We would definitely stay there again. Special thanks to Monica for making our trip so wonderful!
- Florian (10/5): Great quiet place in the heart of a bustling city - I stayed at Monica's Night & Day for three nights in October. I was looking for something simple, central and flexible, and I found a treasure - Monica was very helpful to get me started and set me up with all the information I would need to have a good experience in Rome. She had all the restaurant, sight and transit information for me that I would need to get around and make the most of my stay there. I left the hotel armed with three different, hand-annotated maps to provide me guidance for everything I could possibly need.
My room was simple but beautiful, comfortable and absolutely everything I could have asked for in this price range. I shared the bathroom with the guests staying in the room next door, just as Monica had indicated, and it worked very well.
My tip: Make sure to communicate with Monica before you arrive so she will know when to expect you. She emailed me before, and I simply missed her emails, by bad - she made it all work wonderfully regardless. If you decide to stay at Night & Day, you're going to be in walking distance to everything you will want to experience, and close to transit to get you everywhere else. I would go there again in a heartbeat. Thank you Monica!
- Athena (10/5): Great hotel in perfect location - Night and Day is an amazing little gem in a perfect location to visit Rome. Plus it's affordable. Monica is superb! Communication with her was very easy. Her English is great. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. She is full of information and supplies every guests with maps about places to visit, places to eat and public transportation within the city. Even when she is not at the hotel, she is super easy to reach via email. She is very quick to reply and comes daily to the place.
- Charlotte (10/5): Fantastic - Monica was an amazing host and gave us great recommendations for places too see and eat for our short trip. The hotel is located in central Rome near the Trevi Fountain, we could walk to all the major attractions and there is also a Metro stop a few minutes walk from the Hotel. We will definitely be coming back to Night and Day!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Family treat - Monica met us upon arrival. She provided us a detailed map of her favorite places for us to try: restaurants, shops, and sites. The building is centrally located and a close walk to many restaurants and the Trevi Fountain, metro and buses close by. The rooms were adequate, there was two private bedrooms in the apartment and a shared bathroom for our use only. Bring a pair of sandals to walk to the bathroom, as it is down the hall from the bedrooms. We did not have A/C, but there was a fan in the room and we left the windows open at night. Recommended for an inexpensive excellent location! Area is very safe.
- Mariah (10/5): Wonderful Host - Monica is amazing! When my boyfriend and I arrived Monica had 3 maps prepared for places to see, metro stations, and one blank. The room was larger then I anticipated and things were always tidy. The location is great for walking! It is less then 5min to Trevi Fountain.
- Jess (10/5): Amazing place to stay! - We loved staying here and having Monica to help us! She was ready to help with anything! Maps, recommendations, directions...anything! The room was large and comfortable! The location is perfect (right down the road from metro and Trevi fountain!) Will definitely stay again next time we stay in Rome! :)
- Troy Hayes (10/5): Lovely hotel with crazy monica - Lovey hotel with crazy Monica, monica is so funny and so helpful, close to all the attractions
- Jan (10/5): Very happy with our hotel selection - Excellent experience. Monica is an amazing and lively person that will welcome you to Rome with excellent recommendations, city information and anything else you have questions on. The hotel is in a very nice area and it is very easy to get to. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely stay here again on our next trip.
- Don (10/5): - Monica was very kind and informative and provides a great layout of all the attractions and restaurants. Accommodations were clean and well kept, complimentary coffee available all day. Great location in the heart of historic Rome, walking distance to all the history!
- R D (8/5): Great host and location! - Hotel was in a fantastic location and our host provided us with some great local info!
- sarah (10/5): Great location, exceptional host - Night and Day is perfectly situated in the centre of Rome, 5 minutes walk from Trevi Fountain. Really my only complaint was a lack of air conditioning and the shower floor was a little dirty. Monica is incredibly friendly and knowledgable and I happily stopped to chat with her on my way in and out. She provided maps of town with public transport, her favourite restaurants and the best sights to see. There are only three rooms in the hostel, it is more like an apartment, so there were no issues with other guests. I would gladly stay here again.
- Claire (8/5): Its all about Monica, she was exceptional! - Its is all about Monica,a perfect host and you could not have anyone better.Monica went out of her to help me,take her advise she knows all the great places to eat and provided so much information on Rome. Made you feel like family. would stay at night and day again, perfect location and within walking distance to everthing.
- meade (10/5): - It worked great for us. Nothing's perfect but bang for the buck this place rocks. Thank you Monica
- Laura (10/5): Perfect for Rome-ing Around - This hotel was absolutely perfect for my friend and I who were traveling on a budget around Italy. We stayed 3 nights with Monica at Night and Day and loved every minute of it! Monica who runs the hotel gave us excellent recommendations for food and sight seeing while in Rome which was so welcomed because neither of us had been to Italy before. We ate at almost all the restaurants Monica recommended and all were fantastic especially That's Amore which is right across the street! The location is also so convenient for getting to all of the main tourist attractions. We were able to see almost everything in our 3 days because the hotel was perfectly located! I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to get to know Rome but doesn't have a huge budget to do so. :) Gratzie Monica!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): We'll be staying here again - We stayed 5 nights in Night&Day, the owner was genuine and incredibly helpful, and gave us very good recommendations for where to go and what to eat in each area. The room we had was spacious with noise-cancelling windows to block out busy sounds of Rome at night. There was no air-conditioning but there were 2 fans that kept the room cool enough to sleep without blankets in the summer heat. The shared bathroom was very clean and well-stocked should you have forgotten any toiletries. There is also a small kitchen for those a little tired of the usual pasta/pizza offerings of Italy. Overall a wonderful experience, definitely recommended.
- Cynthia (10/5): Night and Day is awesome - We loved Night and Day, Monica was awesome, the location was perfect, and the other guests were very nice. It was exactly what I was looking for!
- Andrea (10/5): It's All About Monica! - Great location! Everything close by - metro, buses,Trevi Fountain, Barbarini Gallery, and of course, shopping. Adorable room decorated in Monica's unique, fun style with an outstanding mattress and pillows (very important to me) The floor where I stayed had 3 rooms (there are others on other floors)with 2 bathrooms and a common kitchen. I shared a bath with one other guest and it worked out great. The bathroom is large and comfortable. Everything here was spotless. But the best part of my stay was MONICA, the proprietor. Bubbly, warm and so helpful - I felt like I was a welcomed guest in her home. She had the espresso going all the time and just couldn't do enough to make my stay special. Grazie, cara.
- Lalitha (10/5): Great information on Rome and a good location - Wonderful location And Monica was truly helpful with all the information you needed in Rome. You don't need to do any research with the information she provides.
- Maria (10/5): Great location and fabulous host! - Monica was a wonderful and fun host and provided great recommendations and maps to help us navigate Rome in the few days we were there. The location is perfect! Close to the Barberini metro stop, a few minutes' walk from the Trevi, Spanish steps, etc.
- ERIC (10/5): Good location and great host - Ms Monica - The host, Ms Monica, is very friendly and helpful. You will get a free map with several recommendations for shopping, gelato and Italian food. The toilet is shared but it's huge and clean. What's more, the host is very generous by having a coffee machine in the apartment which receives a 5-star certification from Tripadvisor.
The room is clean and huge. You will need to go to a cafe nearby to have breakfast if you are booking a room with breakfast but it's just a stone's throw away and the servers in the cafe are very friendly.
It's two stations away from the main train station in Rome. However, it's near Barberini Metro. There is a supermarket and a number of eateries in proximity. You can just walk across the street and you will come to several attractions: Trevi Fountain (Under renovation till 2015), Pantheon and Temple of Hadrian. Along the way, you will see many restaurants shops selling souvenirs.
I will definitely stay here again should I visit Rome.
- Mary (6/5): Great Location - The hotel has a great location close to Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, midway to Vatican City and the Coliseum. We spent 2 days and an evening and the location served that purpose nicely.
- Sarah (10/5): Great little hotel in the centre of Rome - Stayed here for a week in September, it is easy to find, just around the corner from Barberini metro station. I received a lovely welcome from Monica the owner, who recommended good inexpensive restaurants, and gave me lots of tips on the best places to visit in Rome. I stayed in a single room which had lots of space, a large comfy bed, and a big window looking out on the street below. The bathroom was only shared with one other room, so no queueing, was clean and had everything needed. There is a also a little kitchen, and access to a computer in the communal area. The location is right in the centre of everything, easy walking distance to Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, and about 20 minutes walk to the Colosseum, it is surrounded by great places to eat. Breakfast is in a cafe just around the corner which opens at 6am, with coffee/orange juice and a selection of pastries, the guys who run the cafe were lovely, and the food was good. I would definitely recommend staying at Night and Day and hope to stay again soon.
- Laura (10/5): Home away from home - Excellent location, perfect for seeing the sites on foot or easy access to the metro for tired feet! Rooms are clean and bathroom too. Fridge and kitchenette a bonus for preparing own food. Monica is extremely charming and helpful as a hostess. Would definitely recommend.
- paul (10/5): Lovely guest house/hostel in amazing location - This place had everything, free coffee, fans, fruit, a computer, adaptor plugs, travel books, cellotape.. Just everything you could possibly need. Even if what you needed wasn't there, the excellent host, Monica, would have gone out of her way to get it for you. She really was fantastic, gave us so much pre-pared info and chatted to us for ages on where to eat and how to get around. The kitchen has a coffee machine in it which was great, and the bathroom was beautifully clean. The location was perfect, just near the Trevi fountain and within walking distance to everywhere in Rome (well we walked anyway). The only negative was the fact the beds were not very comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Warm and friendly owner!! - Old building but feel like home inside the hotel. Room is clean, even the shared bathroom is vy clean. A bit of walking to the trevi fountain and Spanish steps.
