Cons:

Overall very good value for money and I would stay here again
- 808wannak (8/5): Very Big new Room - WOW. This hotel have so big rooms. Biggest bed, sofa, desk, lots of floor space, balcony and very big bathroom also. It in very good location too as 7 eleven right next door, massage shop and some street vendor for food. TV was bad though. No channel for my husband 555. But was not good picture to. Only 10 minute walk to sky train so we could get into city centre as this is on edge of city almost.
- stbangkok (8/5): Big, clean & modern rooms - I used to live over the road so i knew the location would be good for tripping in and out of Pattaya on the BTS sky train nearby. Better than driving into the centre that is for sure. The hotel seems quite new. Efficient booking and reception. Great modern rooms with sofa, superking bed, desk and lovely large bathroom also. Two down sides, wi-fi signla awful and TV fuzzy with no western channels.
Downstairs at the front of the building is a very large 7 eleven, massage shop and loads of nearby street eateries, cafes etc. And just 400 meters up the road is the 101 True Digital Mall with loads of shops, restaurants, starbucks and similar. Great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel is very spacious and clean. There were no slippers nor bath gowns.
- iGuySimpson (2/5): just dreadful - Small, pokey rooms, rock hard beds, cockroaches in the room, aircon breaking down in the middle of the night and the food...completely ineditable and extremely limited. e were booked in for 3 nights but checked out the following morning.
- Teboh (10/5): Good location - Good location. Very close to BITEC with 20mins walking distance. Shopping mall very close to it.
- angli4anin (10/5): Excellent Value for Money, Modern Hotel - Marsi Hotel is a great option for travelers on a budget who are looking for affordable luxury. The hotel seems quite new as the style is very clean and modern - the best of modern Thai design. We were lucky in getting a free upgrade to a one-bedroom suite, which had two bathrooms. Below the hotel is a 7-Eleven, which is very handy for cheap food and drink.
Minor niggles:
The second time we stayed here, they had no record of our reservation. They managed to find it eventually though and the service was friendly with a smile.
No power sockets next to the bed. It sounds minor but a little annoying not to have our phones on charge next to us. We actually packed an extension cord for the second time we stayed here.
It's a brisk 20-minute walk to the nearest BTS station, although it's very easy to pick up a taxi right outside the hotel.
There was just a dribble of water coming out of the shower. This could just be because we were on the top floor though.
These are all just minor factors though. I would still whole-heartedly recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay - Big and clean room and toilet. Friendly staff. Check in/out was a breeze.
- pallav_73 (10/5): great hotel ,, best value for money - this is a great hotel , staff is very courteous , rooms are excellent.. very clean neat and tidy.. room service is very efficient .. breakfast is very good and more over the hotel is situated near the metro station.. you can walk for 5 minutes and you will get to your hotel...
a very convenient place for BITEC visitors... a taxi from the airport is about 400 BHAT in the rush time and about 250 BHAT in the night time...
AND YES FREE WIFI
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was clean and spacious. We stay there 2 nights and it was enjoyable.
- Wayne (8/5): Nice stay - 2nd time staying here. Spacious and clean room. Check in/out was a breeze. THB500 as refundable deposit so do prepare that in advance. Staff was polite and friendly. Good wifi Convenience store just a stone throw away. About 15 mins walk to nearest BTS and eateries at Udom Suk.
- Peter (8/5): Nice hotel take your own brew - Nice clean room, polite staff, kettle and cups in the room but no tea or coffee to make a drink with which seemed strange.would stay again but will take some coffee and tea with me.didn't pay for the breakfast so can't comment if any good or not
- kofpop (10/5): Good stay - Check in/out was a breeze.
Staff were friendly.
Clean and spacious room.
A lot of China tourists though, often arriving by bus loads. Stayed at the top floor so wasn't disturb by noisy your groups.
Will come back here again
- Kofpop (8/5): Nice and spacious room - Location: Off the main city buzz which may not be to everybody's liking. 15mins walk away from the nearest BTS
Check in/out was a breeze. Rooms were really nice, spacious and clean. Staff were friendly.
Do note that this is a hotel targeted at Chinese tourists though. That means you get bus loads of them arriving at the hotel each time. Personally didn't have any issues with noisy tour groups but that might be because I was right at the top (7th floor).
Will come back again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Easy Stay, Easy 7-11 - Not bad choice. Ground floor you can find the 7-11 convinience store for all your needs.
- KnutBye (8/5): Good standard. - We as a family stayed there for 1 night and was very pleased with the hotel. The familyroom was clean and big. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was ok, but provided us with enough food to last until lunchtime.
- JohnThai (8/5): Second time around - Since my last visit my overall impressions have been lifted. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Daily housekeeping ensures you return after a long day to a freshly made room with excellent attention to detail. Bottled water is replenished daily and the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. I would have given this a higher rating except the restaurant has now closed and tea and coffee sachets are not supplied in the room. There is a 7 Eleven and pharmacy on the ground floor adjacent to the hotel and eateries are not too far away. A short walk (5 minutes) will take you to the BST ( Rapid Rail System ). Overall a good place to stay of a night or as I did a long weekend.
- TAT YU (6/5): nice clean hotel - Stayed in this hotel for few times, again, it is a clean hotel with clean room.
location is not close to BTS but acceptable with the price.
many chinese tour stay in here, the bad thing is I can smell "DURIAN" and tobacco even when they said these are not allowed. Not very wellcome with those smell and i think hotel should handle it.
- tat yu (6/5): nice room - nice clean room with good price, but they should consider how to reduce the DURIAN smell from those chinese tour
- Tat yu (6/5): nice hotel with gd price - nice hotel as i stayed few times. clean room, but i can smell durian in the lobby and corridor, probally from the chinses tour people, ,all over this is a nice hotel with good price
- DesertDweller32 (8/5): Lovely staff, noisy tour groups - The staff at the Marsi is exceptional -- and I don't use that term lightly! Friendly, kind, ready to help -- especially the front desk group. We stayed for over a week and had consistently smiling faces daily!
The room was cleaned promptly and thoroughly. It was an ample size for our group of three. Decent wifi -- no pool.
Now the downside -- this hotel gets tour groups continually and they are LOUD!!!!!! Getting in around midnight -- screaming down the hallways as if they are the only guests on the floor, slamming doors -- hopefully you get the picture. To make matters worse, they depart around 4 a.m., some of them. It was so bad one evening that I called down to the front desk. Another evening, I had to get out of bed, open my door, walk into the hall, stand there, and stare at the impolite guests.
Just keep that in mind if you're planning to sleep at all...!!!
- hongbo (10/5): 服务很好 - 酒店很好,还提供早餐,很棒,也很方便
- JohnThai (6/5): Basic - Booked at what was rated as a new 4 star hoel. Staff friendly and room clean and comfortable. tea and coffeee making facilities do not include tea or coffee and housekeeping does not supply. Basic bathroom needs (tissue/toilet paper) not replenished unless requested. No hotel directory or information supplied in room. There is a list of costs should you damage anything including the TV.Major construction site next door started early and guests on tour group arrive late so noise can be an issue. No information regarding laundry and again no telephone list of contacts for hotel. Needs experienced management or owners. The lack of basic hotel room facilities made for a dissapointing break.
- kevin2009 (6/5): Convienent to BITEC - Booked this hotel as it very close to BITEC where family member was attending graduation ceremony This hotel is listed as a 4 star, for which it is certainly not.....maybe 3 star boutique. Staff member informed that hotel is open one year
There are no facilities whatsoever and no information provided at reception. Restaurant closes when breakfast is over. Room and hotel generally was spotlessly clean. 7/11 next door.
Ten minutes walk from the hotel ( turn left ) there is a lovely cafe where you can enjoy gorgeous snacks including an American breakfast and a further 5 minutes walk there are two nice restaurants, ..one Italian
- jbd01 (4/5): Just in case of emergency... - Booked this hotel at the last minute in end of May because of curfew (political event) and family obligations.
This hotel is supposed to be a 4 stars (according to their website) but in fact, must be in the best case a 2 stars.
No Breakfast is proposed, no information at the reception, A/C is burn out, seems this hotel has been built a bit too fast...TV with almost no clear channel (only chinese)
The area is very quiet (except noise of the traffic, so avoid the rooms with view on Soi 101/1), but the minimum may be to have a shuttle going to Punnawithi or Udomsuk BTS station, but none is proposed (the 2 Condo close to the hotel propose a shuttle, including mine, S&S)...
No pool, no fitness rooms...
Well, in conclusion, just book this hotel if really you cannot have something else...
I guess in in 2015, will be closed or resold...
- AminoNocturnes (8/5): Good hotel for someone whom stay out of the bustling city life. - Its my last night here dated 15th May 2014 (stayed for 4 days) and decided to write a review.
This hotel is situated in Sukhumvit soi 101/1 which the nearest BTS is punawithi or udom sok (both around 500m-600m walk).
To consider the price, this is value for money. Basis amenities are provided (towels, soap, tissue,tv,safe box, fridge). Dont expect a lot as this hotel do not have any gym, swimming pool and laundry services. Lobby there is a caferia but i dont see anyone dining there. Staff here are very friendly and can speak basic english, so conversation with them is literally quite easy. 7-eleven is just right around the corner. WIFI is definitely strong as i brought my laptop along and at night i was gaming away without any latency issues.
The 2 issues i had was the location as it was too far away from the city of bkk and just travelling from the hotel to Asoke station (Terminal 21 shopping mall) would take me 30mins. Other than that i had no issues. 2nd issues is the channel on TV. I would only view BBC world news as the rest of the channel are in thai (which i don't understand) and chinese channel (which the reception is horrendous).
Would i recommend? Maybe not but definitely this is a budget hotel which is value for money considering the furniture.
- LucyCrossley (10/5): Fantastic value and facilities - My father booked me into the Marsi as he lives in the condo next door. Check in was a breeze, my room was spotless. Each day my room was cleaned and replenished with fresh towels, clean sheets, bottled water and shampoo etc. the staff were friendly and welcoming. Opening the door for me, wishing me a good day and carrying my bags. I was located close to the BTS and never had trouble flagging a taxi. There is a 7/11 next door and you are in walking distance of a fantastic wine bar and Italian restaurant. When I return next year I'll definitely book Marsi again. A fantastic price converting to just over $40 AUD a night for me.
- 6thSymphony (2/5): Unprofessional and Cheap - The worst experience I've had in Bangkok so far. Terrible staff. Cheap guesthouse standard of accommodation and service.
The location is not very convenient - about 7-10 minutes walk away from Punnawithi BTS station, no tuk-tuk service, which most 4* hotels in Bangkok provide. A few restaurants, Starbucks and Tops supermarket near Punnawithi BTS; 7/11 in the hotel building. No restaurant at the hotel, no laundry service, no gym, no swimming pool.
The hotel is new, but the rooms are already beginning to look worn because of the cheap furniture. Water pressure of the 7th floor was very weak. Air-conditioning was also weak and noisy. The bed was not comfortable: cheap guesthouse blanket, which was too short, and cheap hard pillows.
The worst thing about the hotel was the 'service'. Staff speaks next to no English, completely unprofessional and unhelpful. I made a booking for 2 weeks, and after just 2 days was asked to change rooms without any explanation. Cleaning service was a joke, too: I would be away all morning, and would find my room as I'd left it when I would come back. The maid would then come and ask if I wanted it cleaned. When I was checking out, my deposit was not returned to me: I paid a deposit of THB500 twice for each week of my stay, and was only given half of that back because they had no records of me paying twice. I also paid THB200 for late check-out in advance, and was asked to pay again upon check-out. Since the staff didn't speak English and didn't know how to work with the computer/kept no records, it was really hard to explain the situation to them. It took so long, I was nearly left for my flight, and still didn't get my deposit back. I think, that's actually called stealing?...
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. It's far from the center, unwelcoming and sub-standard in every way. It's not expensive for a 4* (I paid the promotional rate), but you get very little value for your money. Such unprofessional establishments do not deserve your business in a city as competitive as Bangkok. Stay elsewhere!
- 84brianb (8/5): marsi hotel bangkok, 4 star hotel - excellent clean rooms, quite large with bench around one side of the room, no restaurant, laundry nearby, 7-11 just steps away, a bit far from downtown but close to bts punnawitthi station, very enjoyable, staffs english is poor to modate but helpful all the same, paid promotional rate coz the hotel just opened a week before i stayed there (paid 1250 baht, normal rate at 2500 baht seems costly even for this 4 star hotel), fridges not stocked but 7-11 so close, wifi was always strong, the hallways a little hot and stuffy once you exit your suite, the safe in the room was a blessing, overall very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend it for a comfortable stay in bangkok.
- ChacmoolsFriend (10/5): Happy accident that we landed here! - We got moved here when our first chaotic hotel (@Mind) was overbooked, and I'm actually really happy about it. This property is gorgeous! Huge, beautiful room, soft bed, desk, giant bathroom, awesome shower.... we were really, Really pleasantly surprised. No restaurant yet but there is food around, and there is a HUGE 7-11 next door. Go to the icecream place Sorbetto up the way (the back art of all the glass structures halfway between the hotel and the main road); they're really sweet and the ice cream is unbelievably good.
I was quite happy to have been introduced to this hotel!
- bjgraf (10/5): FANTASTIC hotel pretty close to BTS - We were moved to this hotel when another hotel (where we had booked) overbooked. They moved us to this hotel (Marsi). We weren't thrilled as we had planned to stay at the other hotel but it turned out for the better. The room was gigantic and perfectly designed. There was a nice balcony. The bathroom and shower were gorgeous. The bed was comfortable. We have stayed in nearly 60 hotels in the past six months of traveling and this was surely one of the best hotels. They are expanding (another building) where they will have a pool and a full restaurant. It will surely be the perfect place for visitors to Bangkok. The BTS is a reasonable 7 - 10 minute walk. There is a 7-11 in the same building as the hotel. Nice restaurants around. Can't say enough...
