Guest Reviews
- NickDLuanda_Angola (10/5): A small step back in time - Brilliant little venue, deep in the old town and only a stone's throw from both harbours. Room was fabulous and a little opulent, and there was a breakfast to die for. Hosts Alex and Andrea were fantastic and really helpful for recommendations for places to go and venues for eating. Really useful to have access to a parking spot deep in the city - thanks!
- Inspire01213855323 (10/5): Excellent base for a few days exploring Chania - Quirky small hotel in a quiet backstreet yet only a few minutes walk away from any of the old city. Very comfortable room with a wonderful breakfast and the hosts could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Although there is parking I would save yourself the stress and get a taxi as it’s not easy to find and you won’t want to drive around Chania any more than you have to.

- Philippa (10/5): Delicious breakfast with comfortable room in the heart of the old city - Beautifully welcomed by Alex, who was a charming hostess. Comfortable room (3), with outside terrace. Right in the heart of old Chania. Fabulous breakfast. Not a hotel
- sherylbH827NZ (10/5): A Serene Gem in Old Town with Gracious Hosts - Our stay at La Maison Ottomane was lovely! It was very clean, had artwork that was unnecessarily refined and beautiful, and breakfast was a lavish experience. The bed was comfortable and shower had great pressure and lots of hot water. The location was excellent, although driving in old town is harrowing with very narrow streets. Tucked away in a quiet corner, La Maison Ottomane provided unexpected serenity and charm with great convenience to tourist attractions, bars, restaurants, shopping, and the waterfront.
- Catherine (10/5): A unique experience run by fantastic hosts right in the heart of the old town. - Everything was amazing from the pre- arrival information to the room, the breakfasts, the location and the tips and recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Alex and Andreas are a great team and went out of their way to make our stay fantastic. The room has been decorated with such taste and the free liquor was delicious. Also, everything is on the doorstep. Nothing.
- ben (10/5): Couldn't be better - We had a great stay. The hotel is unique, historically styled and very quiet while being a short walk away from the old town, historic neighborhoods, taverns etc. Andreas and Alex are warm and friendly, who clearly enjoy hosting and making sure you enjoy your stay. Nothing really... we had to leave :)

- Flavia (10/5): - The most excellent host we have ever had. Alexandra is simply amazing, she took such good care of our staying (not mentioning the delish breakfast). Room was very cozy and bed was sooo comfortable. Thank you sooo much 🫂 N/A
- 659lync (10/5): A Hidden Gem with the Warmest Hospitality - La Maison Ottomane is truly a hidden gem in Chania’s Old Town. The location is perfect—quiet and peaceful, yet just a short walk to the Venetian harbor and all the restaurants and shops.
What made my stay especially memorable were the wonderful hosts. Alexandra and another gentleman (I believe his name was Andreas?) were incredibly warm, accommodating, and genuinely kind. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel so welcome and at home.
The breakfast each morning was homemade and freshly cooked, which was such a treat. Everything was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. I also loved the small, cozy atmosphere of the place—it feels very personal and charming, not like a big hotel.
As a solo traveler, I truly appreciated how comfortable they made me feel. Alexandria and Andreas never treated me any differently and were always happy to chat, give recommendations, and make sure I had everything I needed.
If you are looking for a beautiful boutique stay with genuine hospitality in Chania, I highly recommend La Maison Ottomane. I would happily stay here again.
- margotb687 (10/5): Perfection Itself in Chania - Absolutely the most beautifully decorated little boutique hotel in Chania! Every detail was meticulously curated and all the amenities were thoughtfully selected. Perched in the quiet neighbourhood above the old town it was only five minute walk down to the port with its lighthouse and Venetian and Ottoman architecture and all the cafes, restos and shops. The owner was extremely polite and helpful, and smiling Alexandra's superb breakfast in the lovely courtyard was divine. The whole experience was so pleasant we didn't want to leave and very much look forward to being able to visit again soon!
- Joane (10/5): A great place to stay and highly recommend - It was well situated. The location was close to everything and it had free convenient parking. The breakfasts were wonderful and staff was so friendly and helpful and pleasant. Not much
- Tsikalakis (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): - A fantastic location, Alexandria and Andreas were both super knowledgable and helpful. The room was very charming and we'll supplied. An absolute bonus for us was the parking
- Gerhard (10/5): -
- 634wadet (10/5): Highly recommend La Maison Ottomane - Highly recommend La Maison Ottomane. An actual boutique hotel with style. My wife and I wished we'd booked to stay longer, by far the best place we stayed while traveling in Crete for two weeks. Please make sure you book directly, contact directly. Booking via other sites will cost you a lot more.
- Pascal (10/5): -
- Gregory (10/5): -
- Paul (7/5): - Breakfast was great, served in the courtyard patio. It was a little hard to find the first time, but once we got a feel for the streets, much easier. Easy walk to the waterfront.
- ATHANASIOS (9/5): -
- Lindsey (10/5): - Such a beautiful space and an amazing location. Hosts were super helpful and breakfast was so delicious! Everything was amazing!
- Ricardo (10/5): Marvelous place with exquisite hosts and excellent services - Exquisite hosts in a fabulous place near the most important sites in town. Everything was extremely refined and done with excellent taste from room decorations to breakfast services. While the room was truly exceptional, the mattress was not very comfortable. But everything else (bathroom included) was far beyond the expectations.
- Ioana (10/5): - The most wonderful breakfast!
- Daydream36554917579 (10/5): Incredible time in Chania - A fantastic, five-star experience at La Maison Ottomane! Hosts Alex and Andreas were wonderful, providing a genuinely warm welcome. The incredible breakfast was a daily highlight, offering a huge variety of delicious local foods. The room and decor were thoughtful and beautifully presented, with a supremely comfortable bed and luxurious sheets. Andreas's food recommendations were spot-on. Located perfectly in the old town with easy parking. We had a truly wonderful time and highly recommend it!"
- selina (10/5): Do yourself a favor and book here! - A beautiful and welcoming gem in Chania. A perfect location right around the corner from the water, with fabulous restaurants and shops steps away. Alexandra and Andreas were wonderful throughout my short stay. The room was impeccably designed and decorated. Breakfast served in the courtyard was fabulous and fresh with a wide selection of made to order dishes.
One thing to note: I am an extremely light sleeper (even with heavy duty earplugs I have issues) and stayed in the junior suite on the ground floor- there is a room above so I was a little disturbed by the footsteps above. This was the only fault I found about my stay, and I doubt many people have the same sleep issues I do. If you are an extremely light sleeper though, I recommend booking the other 2 rooms.
There is a small parking lot next to the house which was an added bonus!
Highly recommend booking your stay here!
- K191IQfran_oisd (10/5): Wonderful stay - Là, tout n’est qu’ordre et beauté, / Luxe, calme et volupté...
The Ottoman House in Chania is one of the most beautiful and refined places we have ever visited. We have very rarely seen such attention to detail, such exquisite taste in the selection of paintings, objects, and furniture, and such precision in their arrangement. Furthermore, the welcome is exceptionally warm.
- Dimitris (9/5): - Location, friendly staff, stylish decor. There was a little issue with the room but the staff found a solution right away!
- Reinhard (10/5): -
- 590ilanal (2/5): Not to get close, over rated - I was really looking forward to this hotel, but upon arrival I honestly wanted to cry. The place smelled of mold, there was no ventilation, it was dark and suffocating with hardly any windows. The hotel seems to overstate its quality—I would not give even one star. The only positive was the owner, who was incredibly kind
Blitzsauber, bequemes Bett.
- Tim (7/5): - Breakfast was excellent and served in the most delightful courtyard by very charming hosts.
Its in a great position to explore the lanes and old port of Chania.
It was very quiet for a town centre hotel. When we first entered the room (one of the downstairs rooms) it was quite dark and a little claustrophobic but once we had switched on lots of lights and taken off our sunglasses (!) it felt brighter. However there are no views out of the two small windows as they are obscured on the outside (to keep the room private).
Access by car was not for the fainthearted as the alleys approaching it are very narrow. It would be difficult in a large SUV.
- David (9/5): - Spacious apartment with super nice and helpful hosts; amazing breakfast served in courtyard Only problem with our large apartment was that the toilet was on ground floor and bedroom on first floor; I understand this may not be an issue with the other rooms
- AC (8/5): -
- Angie (10/5): Great quiet location in the centre of the old town. - Great location. A lot of thought has gone into the decor which made it feel special. Very helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast, definitely go back for another stay!
- JONATHAN (10/5): Wonderful friendly hosts and amazing breakfast - Beautifully renovated old property with extremely tasteful furnishings
- Guido (10/5): -
Scarsa areazione e nessuna vista.
- Gerald (10/5): - Alexandra was a perfect chef and lovely lady!
Andres was a wonderful host
- doriss801 (10/5): Beautiful place in Chania old town - This is a beautiful and tranquil space in the old town of Chania. We had room 3 and very much enjoyed the terrace. Breakfast is superb and the hosts, Andreas and Alexandra, would do anything to make you happy. Highly recommended!
- Bogdan (10/5): -
- benoit (10/5): Quiet and beautiful place. Out of time. - it was a great atmosphere. Very well decorated.
Thanks to the people that welcomed us
- Kevin (10/5): - Wonderful room and Andreas and Alex make the experience!
- hyeri (10/5): -
- Dan (10/5): -
- The Aisha Junior Suite ist toll eingerichtet. Viele hochwertige Details. Die eigene Terrasse ist super. Die Dusche hat einen sehr guten Wasserdruck.
- SEHR sauber
- private Parkmöglichkeit ist Gold wert mitten in Chania n/a
- John (10/5): Wonderful location in Chania. Fancy enjoyable room with lots of extras - The room was very fancy and had a large soaking tub with rain shower. The decorations are Ottoman style and very ornate. The manager was very sweet and helpful. We couldn't be there for the breakfasts so she preloaded our refrigerator with breakfasts. She even included some treats because we were hiking Samaria Gorge. There is a nice coffee bar in the room.
- Ana (10/5): Fabulous! - Beautifully decorated room and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept as well as a fabulous shower! Andreas and Alexandra were lovely, very welcoming and provided us the most delicious breakfast! The location is perfect, just a 5 min walk to Chania OldTown. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Loved everything :)
- Kai (10/5): Excellent choice for a comfortable stay in beautiful Chania - The room with a very comfortable bed and powerful shower, great breakfast, very friendly staff.
- Anne (10/5): - We only stayed one night at La Maison Ottomane but we loved it! So close to the centre of everything in Chania. And we were able to park onsite with excellent support from our host after we got lost a bit in the narrow streets of Chania. The breakfast was absolutely amazing! Thank you for such a wonderful stay.
- Carlos (10/5): - Great place, beautifully decorated and in the middle of old town. Gorgeous rooms, very good breakfast and very kind and personal service. Highly recommended. Parking a plus.
- Erin (10/5): Do not miss this gem in Chania! - This is an incredible tiny bed and breakfast in Chania. Alex and Andreas are the loveliest hosts. Our room was incredible - full living room and bedroom upstairs. The breakfast served by Alex and Andreas was delicious every day and I never realized that Cretin oranges are the best in the world based on their fresh-squeezed orange juice every morning. And don't even get me started on their Greek yogurt! They arranged all airport transfers for us and gave us advice for what to see in the city. There are only THREE rooms so book this beauty in advance! Because we had to leave for the airport at 7am, Alex left breakfast in our room when she cleaned our room the day before so we could have a bite before heading to the airport. The one criticism has NOTHING to do with the hotel, but if you are staying on a Friday/Saturday - bring some earplugs because there is a live music venue that is pretty loud and they play until 1am. Aside from that, we slept *incredibly* and the bed was so comfortable. If you get the "Split-level suite," there is a curved staircase up to the bedroom that you need to watch your step on. My husband and I both slipped at least once. But the room is gorgeous!!!

Auto parkeren naast hotel super
Zeer lieve mensen prima ontbijt

- Christian (9/5): Sehr schönes Hotel in sehr guter Lage - Die Lage. (-)
- Pirki (10/5): - Exceptional and unique - amazing, personalized service and facilities.

Rien

- SirDiggityDow (10/5): Fabulous relaxing stay - We had a wonderful stay! We had breakfast every morning in the courtyard. It was delicious and the fruit was fresh and sweet! We were in the center of the old town but just far enough that we didn’t have to hear the noise of the huge crowds. It was the perfect place. It was a large place and very comfortable. Will definitely stay again. Andreas and Alessandra were wonderful hosts! Thank you again for making us feel so welcome!
- Ludovico (9/5): -
- solange (10/5): Un raffinement personnalisé - L’emplacement parfait Rien
- Sofia (10/5): Exceptional - The room was amazing ❤️❤️ very welcoming. And the breakfast to die for.
- gisles198 (10/5): What a wonderful stay! - We had a wonderful stay at Le Maison Ottomane a few days ago. As we were a family of 6 we had all three suites, and everything was perfect. Alex was a charming and including person who really made us feel welcome, and she even left her hairdresser appointment in order to accommodate for us. Breakfast was indeed as good as it gets, and both Alex and the proprietor made us all feel as part of a big family reunion!
When we return to Crete, we will return to this gem :-)
- Mfita (10/5): A little corner of paradise in Crete - We loved everything! Alexandra is a wonderful person: helpful, cheerful, professional, and kind. The breakfast is superb, with high quality products and exceptional attention to detail, even in the table settings. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the bedding and bathroom linens are high-quality. The rooms are extremely clean, spacious, and well-organized.
All the furnishings are refined, every object has a story and you feel like you're entering a fairy tale.
The parking next to the hotel is also very convenient. We really couldn't find a single flaw. It was a truly comfortable vacation. The technology could be improved, but not essential for this type of vacation. The Wi-Fi works very well, but there are no smart TVs, and the international channels are limited.
- Ralf (10/5): A magical place - The attention to detail, the love invested in the design, the excellent breakfast. The copy of 1001 nights in our room.
- Alanvicky (10/5): Awesome Chania - Decorations of the room, 2 person bath and shower, comfortable bed, breakfast included, exceptional host, parking on site. Very clean. Could not recommend it more. Very close to old town port literally 4min walk but far enough to be quiet at night. A real gem. Will stay again. Nothing, the accommodation was amazing.
- paul_mcdowell (10/5): An oasis of tranquility - We stayed one night in this utterly beautiful boutique hotel with only 3 suites. It is very well located within a few minutes walk of the old town centre. We had the “The Constantinople”, a 2 level suite. Directions given were good with private parking beside the entrance. Andreas kept in communication with us to check that we found our room with the key in the door. The bed was sublime comfort. Breakfast served in the beautiful courtyard was traditional and excellent with the wonderful, warm hospitality of Alexander and Andreas. A gem and our place to stay again in Chania.
- Isobel (10/5): Lovely place to retire to at end of day, within easy walking distance of sights and beaches. - Beautiful property full of character, lovely hosts, delicious breakfast, great position close to port in Chania. Nothing
- Slobodan (10/5): Made visit to Hania so special - Lovely boutique hotel. Full of character. Great location. Above all fantastic hospitality. Nothing to add here
- Christine (10/5): - Situated in a quiet corner of Chania but close to everything the old town and harbour have to offer, La Maison Ottomane is an old renovated building with three unique rooms. All beautifully furnished with antique pieces in keeping with the building and decoration. But the really stand out thing is Andreas the owner and Alexandra the housekeeper. They take a personal interest in every guest and make sure you have everything you could possibly need. Andreas has so many good restaurant recommendations and suggestions for things to do. Alex is just amazing. She not only makes the breakfasts, cleans the rooms and looks after you day to day but also checks that you have everything you could possibly want or need throughout the day. She is incredibly kind and thoughtful and seems to take a personal pleasure in being able to do things to make your stay more special. We have stayed here three times and will return.
- Justin (10/5): A beautiful gem set hidden in the town. - The room was beautiful very stylish. Love the shower. The hosts were very welcoming and treated you like a king. Nothing everything was perfect. Streets bit narrow if you're driving.
- Neil (10/5): - Delightful host. Accommodating staff. Charming rooms. Great location. Lovely outdoor patio for breakfast and late day relaxing. Loved every minute of being there.
- Miriam (10/5): Delightful and charming guest house in the heart of Chania - This beautifully restored building is in a quiet back street near to the Old town and harbor, within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and the bus station.
We thoroughly enjoyed the quaintness of this unique guest house. In fact we were treated like very special guests and Andreas, the owner and his lovely helper Alex were the perfect hosts.
The breakfast was amazing! It’s the little special touches that make all the difference.
Our room was very comfortable and we had been upgraded so had a lovely out door terrace, perfect for relaxing in the summer heat.
Andreas gave us much information about where to dine, places to visit and talked about the history of Chania.
We will definitely be returning to ‘La Maison Ottomane’ Nothing negative to say
- Leonard (10/5): Warm hospitality in a historic Ottoman environment - Much more like a fancy B & B than a hotel, the property is located up the street from an important Minoan archaeological site and just a few streets from the old harbor. The owner and staff are friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The furnishings and breakfast place settings are all antiques. And the breakfast itself is outstanding. Parking too!! Highly recommend! Be aware that two of the units require step-climbing so if that’s an issue, ask for the room on the ground floor
- Charlene (10/5): Very unique stay - Very unique deco, peaceful, romantic, super attentive personalized service. New to old town and offer free parking. Even pass us extra bake to bring along after checkout. Weak WiFi inside room, no handout view
- Heinrich (10/5): Beautiful period house with perfect hosts - Beautifully restored ottoman house with three tastefully arranged rooms with antique period furniture. The location is perfect, very central yet slightly set back from the bustling harbour front. The hosts, Alexandra and Andreas, were super welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast, all cooked to order, was delicious.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pierre4077 (10/5): The only place to stay! - Such a warm welcome from Andreas and Alexandra following on from a great deal of help with connections from Alexandra before we even arrived. Then of course, after we left she posted my wife’s lost necklace on. You feel closeted and so well looked after in this charming three bedroom hotel. Luxurious rooms with every facility you could want from ample power points to exquisite furnishings and then, of course, a sumptuous breakfast in the courtyard. Go, make friends and enjoy the wonderful La Maison Ottermane. Spotlessly clean, a couple of minutes walk from the harbour. Stunning.
- Stefan (10/5): Amazing Location and Host - Amazing Host with Andre and Alexandra. Fantastic Breakfast
- Q (10/5): Fantastic hotel with character and charm. - Beautiful room and balcony. Close to centre but in a quiet area. Friendly welcome from staff. Nothing
- vicky (10/5): - This is a delightful place; 3 blocks from the Venetian Harbour, but in a quiet neighborhood. The room was beautifully decorated and spatious. Felt in an 18th century setting; the bath tub is gorgeous, mattress great, sheets soft. Everything works properly.
Breakfast by Alexandra was marvelous. Met Andreas the owner 2 mornings and he provided excellent advice. Highlly recommended
- Robert (10/5): Perfect hosts, couldn’t do enough for us., fantastic breakfast , If you are looking for something a bit different than t - Great central location , literally 2 mins walk to Harbour front.

- Jennifer (10/5): Fabulous - This place is so special and the care and attention to detail make it a luxurious experience. It’s in the design and decor, the fine antiques, the delicious breakfast and the total kindness of wonderful hosts. An Incredibly welcoming and relaxing place to stay. Nothing
- Jill (9/5): Short but sweet. - Little gem of a hotel tucked away in the old town. Convenient for restaurants, the harbour, ruins and more.
The room was luxuriously decorated and had everything we needed. Alex did everything she could to make us comfortable and it was a pleasure to talk with Andreas. Can’t think of anything we didn’t like.
- Joseph (10/5): Absolutely wonderful in every way - What a beautiful little bed and breakfast in Chania! We stayed in The Constantinople Suite. Very spacious for two people. Beautiful and comfortable. The entire property is lovely. Very easy to walk to all parts of Chania, while feeling like you are hidden away. The breakfasts are delicious, and very generous in both variety and portions. Alexandra is an excellent host! Recommend this place for anyone spending time in Chania. An absolute gem!
