Guest Reviews
- Joseph (9/5): Nice stay - Bed small and too high.
- Jess (10/5): - Mini 3 day vacay I liked everything
- Janet (8/5): - The room wqs cozy and clean well maintained.
- David (10/5): Been here before, and will be back in the future - Clean, quiet, excellent value, good location, Tesla supercharger across the street, diner a block away
- Davis (1/5): - This was my worst stay on my 5-week vacation The lights weren't even all plugged in in the room. It was barely clean. You got the front desk though he was pretty chill he didn't give a rat's ass about anything going on I don't think. And it was in a real bad neighborhood lots of " roughions. "
- Vargas (7/5): -
- Gebbie (10/5): Great - The Humbodltality. Nothing

- Tim (8/5): Good - Manager and workers courteous and polite Heat pump a bit dirty.
- Diana (9/5): -
- Dominguez (10/5): It was so amazing everything was clean and the people running the front desk were the best very kind and understanding - It was clean and friendly That there was a lot of bikes
- Kelley (7/5): It was OK better than most motels. I’ve stayed at in Arcata - I wasn’t aware that there was breakfast, but I didn’t ask and I got a little concerned when the guy was checking me in via computer instead of face-to-face. He was nice, but I got really concerned for my safety. The only thing that I didn’t like was you guys didn’t have hot water my shower was pretty cold
- Silas (9/5): comfortable - A good location near a supermarket
- Ruth (10/5): Great central location - Management was great and accommodating. Grounds were kept nicely and was quiet.
- Tara (9/5): Great Value, felt SAFE, clean and comfortable rooms in the beautiful forest area. - Loved the area and view of the area...we saw some northern lights from the parking lot. We could park outside our room, very convenient. Coffee Machine in the room, PLEASE!
- JERRY (10/5): -
- Stanislav (1/5): -
- donna (9/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): Clean and comfy - Check-in was quick and easy, the room was quiet, bed was comfy. It's a nice overnight stop and does the job. We'd stay there again, it did it's job in providing a nice place to sleep for the night.
- Roderique (10/5): -
- Kelly (8/5): worked out just fine - availability, dog friendly, hot water No soap bar, no kleenex, noisy saturday night
- Julian (9/5): I enjoyed my stay fully - I just love this hotel, have stayed 3 times before
Each time was perfect The floors have been stained with paint or grime in one instance
The bathroom showers have been useful but also could be better cleaned
Grime on the walls of the shower and near the drains
- Jusyin (10/5): -
- Josh (5/5): Would look else where if staying for more than one night. - The price was pretty decent for two nights. Easy to get to off the 101. Plenty of parking for how many people were stay there. The room was small and not cleaned very well. The bed and pillow were horrible. The door was very difficult to open and close. The shower was this weird corner unit that the head faced the corner so you had to turn the water on and walk through it to get in. There is next to nothing in this area. It is somewhat centrally located between Arcata and McKinnleyville if that is important to you.
- Arnold (9/5): -
- Marie-Hélène (6/5): - No one is physically there for check in. Instead, you talk to a person in India on Zoom. It’s a very strange experience and the poor guy is probably getting abuse all day from people who aren’t happy about the situation… Motel 6 please keep jobs in the area, hotel check ins are not something that can be offshored without creating a terrible experience for everyone involved
- Brian (1/5): - Location. We stayed there previously, 49 years ago. First impression was bad, and went downhill from there. Front desk was "manned" remotely via someone on a screen, with poor audio that made communication difficult. Fortunately there was a woman around to assist when we arrived, otherwise we would have left. We probably should have, as the room was barely adequate and noisy. (We had to unplug the refrigerator to lessen the noise.)
Definitely not worth the price.
- Deborah (8/5): - Cleanliness, accessibility, quiet Room was cold and heater was almost impossible to get to. An extra blanket would have solved it.
- JAMES (1/5): -
- Inna (10/5): -
- Romero (7/5): -
- Gookin (2/5): Harrased by management. - not much my trip outside of my stay at motel 6 went well. People with open contauners in parking lot cooking and standing next to my vehicle like they own it. tv went out for no reason, key card kept locking us out making us go back to the front deask all the time. I do believe this was intenially done by management.
- Naoki (7/5): -
- Luis (7/5): -
- Mike (5/5): No comment - Location Video check in. Broken TV remote
- Nathan (8/5): - It was simple for us. 2 adults and a baby. Of course it’sa motel. So surrounding area is whatever but has some gas stations and fast food. So that helped get is ready for our multi day trip to the redwood parks. It’s a good location depending on what you are doing. Plus eureka is right by. Checked in super late so check in was virtual and card didn’t work last day so had to get a new card. Virtual front desk. But it was easy. It was good got our trip. But now that I no know what to expect with the surrounding area. Might stay somewhere different. But was happy with what we needed for our trip.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Its a nice motel, quiet, clean, pet friendly of course. I used to live over in this area in some apartments behind the small shopping center next to it and I feel its pretty safe. They have cameras installed around the motel though for guests peace of mind. Its got restaurants And Jitter Bean right across the street super convenient.. warm place to stay for a night or 2. Alao the shower handle fell off while turning it one and they were very nice about it and offered a change of room immediately and offered it in the room right next door. Its a welcoming place.
- Dianne (8/5): - Quiet, clean. Has fridge and microwave in room. Virtual check in
- Amiee (8/5): - This hotel is featuring the “live agent” kiosk. Which is mildly unnerving. The gal on the screen was great and there was a guy in the back room
Of the office (in case of emergency?) but he didn’t DO anything. Seems like a weird situation to find a “live agent” in. The hotel was fine. Limited parking but clean enough and the shower worked. I even liked this shower.
- David (6/5): - Did not like the check-in (not a person but a video screen). Also the students who were staying there were loud until the early hours (2am) Made it impossible to sleep. There should have been someone out there to tell them to shut up.
- Camille (6/5): - Not worth the money. Sketchy people lurking in the parking lot. Noisy other patrons. The shower sucks. It’s basically an RV-size shower. When I asked for a room with a bathtub they said they had no rooms with bathtubs. They tried to charge me $123 to extend my stay 1 night. I said no thank you, I’m going elsewhere. The virtual front desk clerk was very polite and professional. The bathroom floor was not clean when I first arrived, black hairs and grime along the baseboards. I
- Aaron (10/5): -
- Scott (10/5): - .
- Michal (8/5): -
- Cynthia (10/5): Would stay here again - Very happy with our stay for 5 days. Room was very clean and bed was comfy.
- Jessica (1/5): - It was fine I had a reservation and I told the person at front desk that, then he didn't even look up reservation just sold me another room. Then I had paid for TWO ROOMS.
I want a refund. In it was his mistake not mine.
- Natalia (10/5): -
- Kerry (6/5): - Hated the check in I like people behind a counter not a screen. Very awkward and impersonal
- Heidebrecht (3/5): - Easy check in and good price. OK beds. Air conditioning in room worked great! Ice machine and purified water for our water bottles. The room smelled awful. The smell did not go away after turning on the air. That really set the tone for making us feel like it was not clean. If they could deodorize, it would have made a difference to us and would have ranked higher.
- Janet (8/5): Last minute booking. - They had a last minute booking!! Shower is ridiculous.
- Payne (5/5): - Towels stained
Bathroom floor / area around toilet sinking.
No communication about the parking lot being re-tarred
- Louise (8/5): Very very positive. - Pleasantly surprised. Clean, fresh, new. Only one complaint- the pillows were hard and flat. Bring your own. Owner/manager very nice, building well maintained. Good 4 day visit. Would definitely recommend.
- Christy (10/5): C. Kendall - Very clean, always polite staff. 2 night stay No pool 😢
- Hong (8/5): -
- Erica (8/5): They respect my reservation - Good access to the property N/A
- Elaine (10/5): - It was very easy to get to and from the freeway. Close to a selection of places to eat or get groceries. Our second story, non-smoking room, looked newly remodeled. The AC worked perfectly. Everything was clean and fresh. The beds were very comfortable and there was hot water for showers. I would happily stay there again.
- Linda (10/5): - Great price, clean, easy to find. Love that there was a doggy poop area but people did not clean up after their dogs. Room was clean and smelled nice.
- jonathan (8/5): - It was my first experience with a check in kiosk, it was a live person on the screen which wad cool and easily navigated. Found it strange that there was a person at the front desk behind it that didnt interact with you during the process. The property was very clean, room was fresh and confortable. I use motel 6 a lot when on the road, this was a nicer one.
- Randall (4/5): No human service, Atrocious smell, Lax security - I will not return. First off, they have a computer Kiosk with a human on screen to check you in and out. When checking in there was actually a human behind the desk but they weren't apparently there to help because they disappeared as soon as I walked in. Secondly, the office smelled like Indian food and it caused me to gag because it was so thick. Indian food is fine and all but for a nationally known respected Motel chain, even if franchised, to allow the office to smell so atrocious it has likely made people decide they should stay elsewhere is beyond my understanding. Thirdly, the Kiosk human inside apparently programmed someone elses key card to mine and I was woken up sometime between 4:00 am to 5:00 am by someone trying to enter my room and heard them say oh this is the wrong room when the door latch wouldn't allow it to fully open. I mentioned it to the Kiosk human when checking out and they said that had never happened before and they would look into it. When asked if they could tell when the key card was scanned in my door they told me they don't have that capability. Fourthly, the shower is not really comfortable at all. It is a small triangle shaped corner shower with the shower head hanging over the shower curtain on the long side and faces the actual corner so it pins you into the smallest area so it's difficult to move around. Not much care to customer service by using a Kiosk and having an attrocious smell in the office and lax room security.
- Deirdre (6/5): - Overpriced, minimal amenities, wifi sketchy
- Fellisa (6/5): - Room needed a lot of repairs. For the price of the room, I expected better. However, the location was excellent as it was across a mini mall and several dining facilities.
- Ty (4/5): Worst check-in process I've ever experienced. - It's a motel 6. Rooms are small, beds aren't super comfy, shower situation in this one was weird. Mostly I'm just avoiding this one because of the awkward experience of checking in on a zoom call with someone in another country while the person working there just stands and watches me. Totally unnecessary and weird process and feels super gross. We can't even talk to real people at a motel any more? No issue on the guy sitting on a zoom screen for his entire shift (also just terrible) but again, it's awkward as hell and completely unnecessary. Also toilet seat in room was broken but that wasn't really anyone's fault except housekeeping for not fixing it. Also also, not excited about some machine scanning my ID front and back and sending it across the Atlantic. AAVGO is the company. The beginning of the end.
- William (10/5): -
- John (5/5): -
- Tina (3/5): -
- Tina (4/5): - The sheets were dirty. The toilet seat was broken and they charged me a $50 early check in fee, while they gave my mom the early check in for free.
- Michael (10/5): - Very nice Motel 6. Very clean, I like motel 6 because dogs stay free. The bed was super comfortable. Great stay
- Jason (8/5): - The only thing I didn’t like is there a check-in system, there’s no more human beings, somebody in India on a video cam taking your information. They are very quick, but still, there was no real human experience.
- Kenneth (6/5): Okay - Well, it was nice and prepared when i arrived, but house keeping didn't clean my room the 4 days i was there 😥😥😥. I asked twice for them to do so but they didn’t, and as a result, i had to ask for necessities like towels, toilet paper among other things. I hope that they fix that so next time, i come back to a clean room while on a multiple day visit.
- Cecilia (6/5): - Property was as clean as it can be . Service and customer representative were so helpful and super nice. Prices are high for a Motel because they are close to Cal poly Humboldt .
- carol (6/5): - Did not like checking in with a person on a screen. No one in the check in area. All handled on a screen. Not a safe feeling when no one there in person. Bathroom was 1/2 painted. Had two people beg for money in the surrounding area. The bed was nice and firm. The room was clean. I would not recommend staying at this motel.
- cindy (4/5): - House keeping skipped us since friday until we ledt sunday morning. The area was not very safe too many threats and too near for my liking
- Vincent (9/5): -
- laura (6/5): - I was a bit surprise not to have a live person @ check-in.
- David (9/5): - Well lighted, seemed safe. Quiet. One time the card key failed, had to go to the office to get it reset
- Kimberly (4/5): - There were no staff. It was a virtual concierge that seemed very impersonal and unsafe considering the hotel. The bed was awful and the bathroom was dirty. The wrapped cups for use had crumbs on them. Lesson learned. Could have spent 5 more dollars and had the nice hotel next door that was clean and had staff and continental breakfast.
- Mary (4/5): - Check in was virtual even tho there was a live person in the office. Tried calling the desk for ice with no answer.
- Benzie (8/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Comfortable and served its purpose. - Location
- Nallely (10/5): -
- Julie (6/5): - It was ok. After all it’s a motel. Can definitely say the price is what you get. Just needed somewhere to stay the night and it fulfilled its purpose.
- Roxy (8/5): - Checking in with a person threw a computer was a little different but still easy and great service. The room was clean but has some cosmetic issues, chipped floor and paint. Its wasn't a bother though, you get what you pay for getting the cheapest motel around. My only complaint is the pool was closed down/ out of order and i purposely made sure to get a motel with a pool, so that was a let down for my son.
- Craig (6/5): - Okay place kinda noisy
- Michelle (10/5): - Quiet property. Room itself was clean however the shower had hair in it. Felt odd checking in virtually. Overall stay was pleasant.
- Joana (10/5): - Everything was clean, it smelled good and it was quiet at night.
- Springer (6/5): Ok - Close to campus Bathroom and shower
- Emily (10/5): - It does the job! I recall being perfectly comfortable. A good basic stay.
- Marvin (4/5): - Check in audimated, no customer care
- Colleen (7/5): Good -
- Priscilla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Boynton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (1/5): Horrible - Nothing Everything public hairs everywhere
- Nancy (6/5): Check in is impersonal, rooms are compact, but the location is great - The location and price were great The rooms are very compact
- Diane (2/5): - Hated the virtual check-in. Turned on the heat and it smelled like cat pee. Wrong size sheet on bed. Vent in bathroom was falling off the wall. Would NEVER stay there again!!!!!
- Laurie (8/5): Very good -
- Janette (5/5): I wouldn’t stay again…it was just okay. - Property was fine I didn’t like that when I checked in there wasn’t a physical person. I checked in with a person on a screen.
