- michaelwS501ZI (2/5): QUBE HOTEL SCAMS - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL... The rooms were dirty, the sinks were not clean and I am not sure if they were ever vacuumed. We had wedding and had our family and friends stay here for one night. They could not find the 2 reservations that I had even though I showed them the confirmation #'s. So I just got one room. They charged me for both and said that the other room was a no show. EVEN THOUGH WHEN I CHECKED IN I SHOWED THEM THE CONFIRMATIONS AND THEY COULD ONLY FIND ONE. We wanted to check in early and they charged us $50 for that. We asked about late check out and they want to charge $50 for that. We bring them our family and friends and sell 10 rooms for them and they want to scam each for some kind of fees. AGAIN, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Thank God I did not eat the breakfast they had as I would be afraid of how old it might be.

- Richard (4/5): Liked this place and stayed here every October for years. I don’t think I’ll be back in the future. - Good coffee Fire alarm went off. Heating and cooling filters were dirty, I guess. Staff was on their phone when they came to check on the alarm and were speaking in a foreign language with someone instead of addressing the client. The customer didn’t feel comfortable with the response. There was left over food in the room refrigerator when we arrived. and it was dirty. The toilet didn’t flush properly and I had to mess with it to keep it from running all the time. Breakfast was a bare minimum, more like a low end motel. There were not enough towels for three guests.

After we checked out the woman told my daughter were getting charged extra for the extra people because we weren't to have that many in the room. Mind you it was 2 queen beds. You could hear people walking up the hall, above you and through the walls. The breakfast left alot to be desired, cereal, waffles, hostess cupcakes and twinkies, coffee and juice. It wasn't horrible but wasn't great either. We won't be staying again.

- Robert (10/5): - Nestled surprisingly close to a golf course, the Qube Hotel was a fantastic find. We chose it for its convenient location, as it was only about a 20-minute drive to Iowa State for a football game. The hotel is also just a few blocks away from several bars and restaurants, making it a great spot for an evening out. The owners were incredibly accommodating and went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. Their genuine warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip.
- Linda (6/5): - There is plenty of parking -even room for trailers, boats or golf carts. We stayed 3 days and we were one of 2 cars in the parking lot each night. It was eerily quiet with the exception of the hostess who spent her time on her phone with the video and music blaring and sitting in the lounge area. I had gone out in the morning to do some studying and reading while my husband slept and there was that going on. Our TV never worked despite the proprietors unplugging it several times in attempt to fix it. I got tired of asking about it. Our sink was clogged so made it a little hard to wash your hands or brush your teeth. Asked the proprietor to fix it while we were gone and they sent an older lady in to snake it and she quickly fixed it. It is obvious there is an extended family living on premises, however they make use of the kitchen atea and lounge area as their living room so it makes it uncomfortable to be there. Next is the breakfast area. After Two days the fruit available (2apples and 2 oranges) had been there for some time and were all wrinkly. I peeled the orange and it was all mealy - so threw it and the other one away. Same with the apples. By third day there wasn’t any fruit. The bread was expired by 3 days so didn’t try it. The other options were Twinkie's and chocolate chip cupcakes. There was the option of waffles, cereal and yogurt. Except the yogurt only carbs available and I wouldn’t know how long the cereal was there or if it was expired. Overall not good

The hand towel was wrinkled and it could handwashed and squeezed out and air dry or washed but was not use a dryer. It was wrinkle and very cheap and thin looking. Stained on hand towel. Towels were not soft, it was hard. Bold lock on the door was nit working on my arrival and I had to go to the front desk and ask them to fix it. It was fix on the next day. I am very big in customer service and their customer service was poor. I arrived and the guy was on the phone and I had to wait for him to get off the phone and check me in. He just ignored me.

- Disappointedcoach (2/5): On the CHEAP - I wouldn't recommend staying in this hotel. Here's my findings.... Kleenex on floor next to bed upon check in. Shampoo and soap are probably the lowest grade one could find. Even the liquid soap in the shower was poor quality. The towels were more like rags. Terrible. The sink drained very slowly. Noisy, all noises in the hall can be heard clearly in the room. Breakfast provided, eh, not really. I'm not fussy, but this wasn't good. Check in was good, quick, friendly. Overall hotel was clean-ish. Could have been better.

- gloria jean (6/5): - Room was very clean. Front desk never had anyone present. Always had to call someone. Front desk worker seemed to be sleeping in the lobby area when we arrived. The continental breakfast was horrible. Some food was outdated and fruit old and getting dried up or rotten. Had to ask for coffee to be made for breakfast. The bathtub shower barely drained. It is in a quiet location adjacent to a golf course with lovely views. Just needs some staff education/inservicing.

- Daniel (6/5): - A discount simple stay. Very clean. As an elderly person that has difficulty with stairs I was told at check in that they could not give me a first floor room. The room we got was the farthest from front door. No elevator, parking is not close to the door due to landscaping. Found it very difficult to load and unloading. Breakfast is packaged Hoe Hoes, Breakfast is very limited. The place gives you the creeps as security cameras all over with signs of video and audio monitoring taking place. Not sure if room was being monitored or not but we were cautious. Towels were limited, two per room and very thin. Refrigerator made noise and kept us awake at night. Neighbor room had tv going all night, very loud but no staff is available.

- Amy (4/5): - This was our 3rd and most likely final stay at the Qube. It was loud but more importantly how we were treated but the staff was horrible. We lad always booked because of the size and location and had some friends come in where we ordered pizza and shared with the staff. The day we checked out we ask for 1 additional hoir and we cleaned our room . I was then scolded but the staff for cleaning my room and putting pizza boxes in the empty trash cans. I was also charged $25 doe an hour over. I feed your staff and clean my room to be scolded and then charged, not staying there again unless I want to pay extra and get scolded

It had been 90+ degrees that day and our room was a sauna and took forever to cool down. Falling asleep was a bit tough, but only because of temperature. The bed was comfy.

PROS: convenient location - 4-minute drive to my son and daughter-in-law's; staff was friendly and helpful - our room door wouldn't latch and lock, the owner/manager came and fixed it right away; quiet area; room darkening shades. CONS: the fan in the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned; the comforters had yellow stains on them in several places...GROSS!; the heater/AC vent looked like it had black mold in it.

Two adults in room but only two bath towels and one wash clothe and one hand towel in room. Also, hubby and I both slept in king bed but he came home with hives/bug bites but I did not. He DOES NOT have delicate skin. Also, the young girl at the front desk was not skilled at check in and could not speak clearly while we handled the billing at check in. Also, housekeeping was knocking on the door at 8 am on Sunday morning looking to clean the room. He was pleasant but that’s a little early to be asking. See above.

- Stephen (4/5): Sufficient - The hotel is definitely on the budget friendly side. Don’t expect much in comfort or amenities. The do keep it clean but it is showing wear. Water is not hot or cold but gets the job done. Not sure why they charge you a deposit one day ahead.
- Jasmine (1/5): Too expsenive for what it’s worth. You’ll smell like toilet and moth balls by the time you leave. - Room was very dark. Only had 3 small yellow lamps. The carpet was stained along with the bed linens. The room was filled with bugs that I had to Lysol on a daily basis during my stay. The bathroom had no ventilation so the room smelled like wet wall/toilet during my entire stay and my towels would NOT dry. The entire building outside of my toilet smelling room smelled like moth balls. I opted out of their “house keeping services” which I don’t think they ever provided anyone since the room was dirty upon arrival and no one picked up the garbage I left outside of the room. The walls are so thin I heard everyone’s conversations and televisions. The surrounding location of the hotel is nice. I believe I paid way too much for what my stay was worth here. I would rather pay to stay at the marriot and travel a farther distance next time instead staying at this dump. Not worth your money.
