- Dot (2/5): - When I was at a dinner meeting, a staff member from the Hotel-Motel rang me to tell me she had packed up our belongings and transferred them to room No 4, as she had double booked No 2. She explained that the rooms were identical. We couldn't find out why they didn't give the other people room No 4 as they were identical. We had to return key to room No 2 when we came back from the dinner meeting and pick the key to room No 4. I also had to remind her that we had stuff in the bathroom and in the fridge. I'm just waiting now till I can't find something. And the bed was particularly HARD and uncomfortable with both of us getting little sleep. The pillow were also very long and uncomfortable. I've never slept on anything else so bad. And another thing: There were 2 down lights lights, one each side of the bed and one low wattage lamp near the fridge - no central light in the main room, so it was very dimly lit. Added to all this, I thought the price was very expensive.

- Chris (8/5): - Liked: Situated on main street, close to bike and walking trails along Irwin River. Parking outside door. Nice meals at the pub. Disliked: cost of a bottle of SSB at the pub with dinner. Loud noise coming from exhaust fan.

The lamb racks we had for dinner at the onsite restaurant was generous, & excellent and we did not have to wait too long for our meals despite the restaurant was packed. Definitely will come back. - Julie (6/5): - I arrived at 2pm to check in having driven a fair way and tired and was told quite abruptly that they were busy and I should come back in 15 minutes. When I came back I watched them be quite friendly and informative to the people in front them just gave me my key with no info and no smile. Not sure what I did wrong. Key was very stiff and the door hard to open.

- Trudy (10/5): - Have stayed here before and preferred Our room that was set back more. This time we were adjacent to the road which didn’t feel quite so secluded and safe. Other than that great value room, lovely linen and comfortable bed. Bathroom quite dated with some mould on the ceiling. Will be a regular visitor and look forward to coming back. Pub is great and restaurant food is lovely

One of the blokes serving drinks at the bar last night wasn’t very helpful but other than that food and service at the pub was awesome. Super busy too so hats off to the team!

Didn't like the first check-in experience. Rude, inconvenient, no help. Given the wrong room. The other staff who assisted me later was fabulous and assisted with everything. I would stay here again.

I had a mouse in my room with its droppings on my bed, saw it in the restaurant as well. Towels were not replaced. Overall just a really poor experience that made me lose sleep. Won’t go back.

- Francis (6/5): Dongara Hotel Sept 2021 - Room clean and comfortable. Check in and out friendly and efficient and helpful in arranging a later checkout. Room walls paper thin and could hear next door neighbours. Bathroom very old style and shower a bit too small. Lovely scenic pictures hanging over the beds.

The bathroom, even though not new, is clean and well maintained with good shower pressure. Property has convenient parking and a swimming pool. Pub nearby for meals and drinks. For the star rating and price point it is very good value.
