Guest Reviews
- Christy. (10/5): - One of the best stays out there, I would recommend it to anyone, 100% worth every penny. Thank you.
- Melanie (2/5): - As soon as we checked in to our room we checked right back out.. the room was unfit to stay in .. the bathroom was a disaster, their was dirt all over the floors, the wall paper was coming off the walls.. their was people partying in the hall way kids running up and down the hallways.. when we went to check out we asked how to go about getting a refund.. the lady on the counter said that they don’t deal with refunds. So she gave us a business card to her manager we have tryed every form to get a hold of him with no response. Very poor customer service
- Kimani (10/5): - Great place
- Jakob (10/5): - Great stay for what it is. The residence was clean and staff were very helpful.
- Brandon (10/5): - The rooms are nicely set up so uou ha e your owen
- Reynald (5/5): - Good location close to highway and plazas Room to cold, could not adjust AC temperature
Room 101 too far from main entrance
- Jim (10/5): Georgian College dorms. - Two people in a two bedroom unit. Comfortable beds, good shower. Big fridge and a microwave. No utensils.
Good a/c. Easy access off the highway. Go to Building with Blue roof.
- Lori (8/5): - Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, it was perfect for our needs and very afforable.
Would stay here again for sure.
- Kevin (6/5): - Basic accommodation
- Claire (2/5): Won’t ever come back here - Close to my travel route. Staff Not clean , hair in my bed ( i asked and received clean sheets and pillow cases ) . Hairs in shower. 🤮. Blind fell off during the nite
- Leah (6/5): - It was okay. Not the cleanest or most updated.
- Jami (4/5): - - Initial room had not been cleaned, they did change us to a different room
- The place is old and dingy. Would not stay again
- Lianne (8/5): - Great price for what you get.
- Richard (10/5): - Love the price
- Lisa (8/5): Nice dorm - Very nice residence. This is not a hotel so expectations need to be realistic. Clean, comfortable and very good location
- Brent (10/5): - Nice place, good price.
- Amir (10/5): - great price and service, definitely recommended.
- Debbie (8/5): Quiet for sleeping, great access to Highway - The bed was hard and not particularly comfortable. Wallpaper was damaged in places and needed regluing.
- Viernes (1/5): - The place smelled like poop and when I entered my room, it wasn’t even cleaned! I didn’t end up staying there because of what I smelled and saw. I asked for a refund but the manager didn’t even processed it and just waited for the booked dates to be over. Very disappointing! Don’t recommend!!
- Nichole (4/5): - Wasn’t a good experience!
- Jolene (6/5): - The location is good, the rooms are clean… but very much a dorm room. TV in the room but no cable,
- Fernando (8/5): - Good location, beds confort also good
- Marilyn (8/5): - Very clean 2 bedroom large price was great Bed was a little too hard, no coffee maker
- Sukhmanpreet (10/5): - Very coorporative
- kirupalini (10/5): - It’s nice room and better separating room for couples with children. Comfortable room and ares
- Alana (8/5): - Not far from restaurants or groceries
- Guest (8/5): It served our purpose and the price was perfect for the length of time we would be in the room. - There was no breakfast offered. no choice of beds. We were a couple and had two separate rooms with twin beds.
- Mohammad (8/5): - Good price, ac was running perfect. One bed sheet could be spreaded under comforter.
One hot water kettle could be given for making tea or coffee in the room.
- HARJINDER (10/5): - Getting way more what I spent on this to stay . VERY VERY happy customer
- Nikita (10/5): - Great for the price, will come again in the future.
- Teresa (6/5): - We like the 2 rooms at this property, and that’s why we stay regularly. The room we had this time had 2 very worn out mattresses that caved in the centre making sleep rough. After night 1, I asked if we could somehow have that fixed, and was told a simple “no”. There were a few large groups of people who had unsupervised kids that were very loud and playing in the elevator area which echoed Dow the hall. Reception did not answer the phone to address the issue. We had sleeping children and found this very annoying. We will likely stay elsewhere next visit to Barrie.
- Humayoun (8/5): - For the cost, the basics were good. I would appreciate if the beds were more clean with a clean blanket (without holes), clean sheets and pillow covers. I like the front dress communication and service. Pls make sure if you add a tv to make it work. A lot of families come there with kids who like to watch tv at night. Overall good. 😊
- Tracey (10/5): - The residence and conference centre was a great place for us to spend the night in Barrie. One note, there is no TV available in the rooms (there is a TV, but no cable). There is a kitchenette with fridge and microwave, but no plates or cutlery. Great front desk staff. Great value!
- Joanne (8/5): - This is a dorm on campus grounds. We had to call reception to locate the property. The rooms were typical dorm rooms eith privstr bath. The beds were small for 2 ppl but doable for 1 night. Rooms are old but clean.
The shower is super powerful., will take off a layer of skin kind of powerful. They would benefit with new shower heads. Wastes too much water. Fine for 1 nights stay. benefit property
- Frog (8/5): Nice quiet place to rest - For a last minute place to crash it was more than we expected. Had the 2 bedroom dorm was nice having our own bathroom. Full size refrigerator with freezer.. close to a big shopping ctr.tv with no air channels but if you have an hdmi cable you could hook up your computer or tablet.bed was not to bad..my back didn't hurt in the morning. The security was great and all were very friendly
- Shelley (6/5): - It was a good place to lay our tired heads. No bells and whistles, just the basics. Nice to have a fridge, sink, bed and air conditioning.
- D Mark (8/5): Wonderfully Affordable for Family - Great value; dormitory accommodation, affordable, very few amenities, unexpected options like a pool table and barbecues. NOT a hotel - no pool, no ice machines. Beds and pillows are made for durability, not comfort - but adequate. Exceptionally affordable for an inexpensive stay. Full kitchen but only a microwave and no dishes or utensils; wonderful for having takeout meals at the table & chairs. Two bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchenette for half the price of an inexpensive hotel. Close to the beach on Kempenfelt Bay, so great for a family beach weekend.
- James (10/5): - All Great
- Kevin (8/5): - Staff very accompdating
- Tyler (6/5): - My room got double booked, which caused some confusion when I walked into my room with someone already in it lol. Other than that it was as it should be
- Yvonne (8/5): Very good -
- Ali (10/5): - Very accessible, great prices for what is offered. Fun game rooms on the levels.
- Nathalie (10/5): - Was very convenient for us, will definitely be staying again next time we come down.
- Jodi (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (2/5): - We waited for someone to show up at the reception dates for 30 minutes. Then entered our room, put the suitcase down and saw a huge insect run accross the room. Returned to the reception desk, asked for a refund and told that he wasn’t there
So very disappointed
- Laura (10/5): Great place to stay for a quick overnight - This is the 2nd time I stayed at the Residence and it was very comfortable, clean, spacious & safe both times.
Keep in mind it is a student residence and you will see some wear from previous tenants but overall it is very well kept.
- Johanne (8/5): - It definitely needs upgrading. I understand that it is a student residence but wallpaper peeling, cupboards chipped and looks like water damage. Vertical blinds kept falling off track and a lot of calcium build up around taps. Also mattress was uncomfortable felt well used. I was on 8th floor. Staff friendly and I was able to have use of a hair dryer.
- Marilyn (2/5): NOT A HOTEL!! - We left shortly after arriving - it was NOT a hotel and was smelly - damage to walls - no TV service - I talked to a rep that evening and was led to believe I would get my Visa credited - was told today - not so. We should receive at least a credit for another hotel stay wit hotels.com for future travel. The place is a student residence with students in and out - would not recommend
- Anes (10/5): - Reception was great
Big thanks to Tavish for his help
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abdullah (8/5): - amazing.affordable
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable - Mattresses very uncomfortable
- Thera (2/5): - The room was in very poor condition. Wall paper coming off the walls in many places or completely missing. I have never stayed in such a rough place and expected more from Expedia. The price was low but when you consider where you are staying it was high. Beds were really hard.
- Jenifer (2/5): Yikes. - Worst hotel I've ever seen. It's disgusting, junkies in the lobby, wallpaper peeling, and you can hear everything through the walls - like people crying and arguing. Everything stinks like feet and food. It is literally a nightmare, you could film a scary movie here. The fact that they're charging even this much is a scam, I did not stay here - I checked in and walked right back out. I want my money back.
- Keri-Ann (8/5): - Great for a one night stay!
Would have been nice to have something to watch but otherwise good!
- judy (10/5): - Price was right and will stay at more now that i know
- Ayodeji (2/5): - Had a terrible experience, and the manager (Richard), did not help matters. I will never lodge or recommend to anyone, especially, my colleagues. We travel a lot!
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, nice staff
- Paubertin (9/5): Superb - Nice and welcoming people.
Made it easy for me and my children to stay at the hotel N/A
- Darlene (8/5): - The beds were kinda hard
- Scott (6/5): Motel 6 would be 5 stars compared to this place - Wasn’t much , basic place to sleep student dorm with very basic room, no bells or whistles Offers a fridge and stove, no utensils- not even a coffee maker. TVs didn’t work very over priced for a basic low quality room
Walls and room in need of update -
- joanne (8/5): - Decided last minute to book this hotel. The price was right.
- ken (10/5): - The room was very clean. Bed was comfortable and very quiet place. The only downfall was no tv and we were traveling with kids.
- Terry (6/5): Pleasant - The location is good The mattreses seemed to be very hard & no cable tv anymore
- Christine (8/5): - 2 minute walk to hospital across parking lots.
- Dana Lynne (10/5): Budget friendly - We were attending a graduation held at the college and being able to stay on campus was convenient and much more budget friendly than a hotel room
Our room was clean and comfortable, had 2 bedrooms a bathroom with shower and kitchenette with
Full sized refrigerator and microwave, convenient for longer stays but are not equipped with utensils or dishes, so remember to bring your own, and a hot plate for cooking meals. There is a tv in the rooms but service not provided, with the free Wi-Fi you could probably hook up a fire tv or dvd
- Christine (8/5): - very close to RVH to visit
- Kevin (8/5): - Basic accommodation
- bernardon287 (6/5): Budget Experience - No enough towels, people driking beer and pot in front to the building entrance . Housekeepers talking too loud on the corridors at 9 am ,dirty bed sheets, good location for overnight sleep ,spacious rooms but poor preventive maintenance, no enough accesible parking for ♿️ guests. In my experince other colleges offered better room quality
- Victoria (2/5): - Not good. The toilet wasn’t flushing - went to service desk, they wanted to come service it - we had less than one hour to get ready for a wedding, it seemed to be a problem to request a change of room
- harland (8/5): - I was on the first floor room 103,the hallways are long and front exit is far off.The activities room had a nice 70" screen, but the BBQ outside had not been cleaned,so didn't use it.Also no tool to clean.Airconditioning in the room worked but was unable yo adjust.just a bit too vool to sleep at night.
- Chenguang (8/5): Very good -
- Kassandera (1/5): Bad -
- MURALEESWARAN (10/5): - very good service.
- Carole (8/5): Excellent for the price. - If you prefer a very firm mattress you will have an mzing sleep. It was very clean and felt very safe. The rooms do need a refresh and smart TVs. Faucets are 30+ years old, bathroom for sure is very old.
I will stay again 100% because of the safety and price.
- Kirk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (10/5): - The best security anywhere! We also love have a full size refrigerator with a freezer.
- Joanne (10/5): - Only thing I would say to be aware of is there isn’t any TV
But overall stay was fantastic and would stay here again
- Virginia (10/5): - The staff were outstanding!
- Susan (2/5): - The room was absolutely filthy. Disgusting. I paid for the room but did not stay.
- Aman (6/5): - Average budget accommodation. These are basically student dorm suites rented during Summer. Check in is super slow, one person only and it was a line up of more than 10 guests. Suites are two simple small bedrooms, a kitchenette and small dinning table with two chairs and a standard bathroom. They provide lenins, towels and soup. Excellent for out of town budget stays.
- albert (10/5): - Good
- Kelly (4/5): Tried to be frugal - Easy check in. Helpful and friendly. Decent price buuuut being 45 I should have realized it’s basically a dorm. Bed was super thin, no boxspring. No smoking on any of the properties but allowed in your car. Make that make sense. Anyways to top it off there was a fire alarm drill @ zero dark stupid, (dramatic it was 7:30ish) then it went off again which was a mistake. Would not recommend to anyone that enjoys comfort.
- Diana (2/5): - Horrible experience with disgusting bed. Never again!
- Tracy (4/5): - Should be specified that this is a college dorm room and not a hotel
- Ian (4/5): - Heat didn’t work. Wall paper falling off walls. Tv didn’t work. I’m disappointed
- Debbie (6/5): - I was disappointed in the room...was expecting more of a hotel room. This place offered no COFFEE maker..a kitchen that had no amenities what so ever a kitchenette with absolutely nothing...the beds were comfortable and the shower worked well. The toilet seat looked soiled and stained..sure it was clean but didnt look it
- Anonymous (1/5): Didn't stay refund please - Nothing The room was appalling, horrid even i have pics and a video I would like to submit for review and also would like full refund as I left without staying the night as was not sanitary or safe to sleep in.
- Mykhailo (6/5): - Too busy front desk all the time, bit older then other options, but good for anyone who looking for room just for one night for lower price
- Paulette (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (10/5): - The room was very comfortable.the students that stayed on site were very respectful and quiet.
- Jerry (6/5): - Very basic, no tv, no amenities, just a basic place to sleep, did have wifi but unsecured. For the very few dollar's i save it would have been better to stay at an actual hotel. Not recommended. This is basically a college dorm.
- Rachel (8/5): - Easy to find from the 400.
Front staff helpfull.
Kitchen did not have any dishes, coffeemaker or kettle, it would have been nice to know ahead of time.
bathroom sink did not drain and there were no maintenance staff on hand for the weekend to repair.
- Jerry (6/5): - Basic ĺodging, no tv
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Excellent customer service
- Kevin (8/5): - It’s a basic room. Perfect if all you want is a place to sleep and shower. Very affordable option.
- Sweta (10/5): - So, I am not a student and I loved the entire experience starting from the checki-in till stay. Must recommended property for students.
- Gregory (8/5): Good clean spot. Great for the hospital next door. - This is a great place to stay, specifically if you are requiring an overnight stay because you or a family member have to use the hospital (literally a parking lot away). It worked great for me to have my son there early for his operation, and could head back to do some work while still being so close during his procedure.
- Gabe (1/5): Trash - Nothing Gave me a parking ticket while I was checkin in, was in there for 3 minutes and got a 45 dollar ticket, didn’t even stay the night checked out at 9pm
- Mike (8/5): - Basic, and shower head missing. Buy good value for money.
