Guest Reviews
- Kam Hung (8/5):
- Hiu Fung (8/5): -
- Cheuk Lun Alan (10/5):
- Wai Sheung (6/5): -
- Pao (4/5): Rooms are not well maintained. Very dirty carpet. - The rooms are terrible, everywhere are covered with dust, except beds. TV not working, shower not working properly, some electric sockets have no power, carpets are very very dirty and terrible, you dare not to walk with bare foot. Some rooms are under renovation.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointment stay - No water for toilet flushing; mouldy toilet bowl; leaking toilet; Cracked basins; TV not working for several days. False fire alarms for evacuations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location is a bit far from the central district but there are easy transportation to MTR and buses to various places. It is close to Aberdeen where there are lots of restaurants and fast food. The place is quite and safe and the room is spacious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very safe and quite. Easy to take bus to go anywhere. Walking distance to Aberdeen where there are a lot of eateries. The room is big and staff are friendly.
- Anne (6/5): Average hotel - We asked for non-smoking room and the 10/F was full of smoke which we end up moving to the 12/F, which is no better. The electrical room right next to us was dripping water and our air condition was making funny noise throughout the night which was annoying.
Given the situation in Hong Kong, everywhere have a price decrease but not this one, doesn’t know why
- ALB (4/5): - Shuttle bus from hotel to MTR station is the best way to get around. However the toilet is hard to flush. We have to tried a few times to get the water. We stayed for 16 days but the floor in the room never vaccum.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The Room and furniture filled with dust. And trash found underneath the bed.
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Wing Kong (8/5):
- Verified traveler (4/5): - As Jesus said “Forgive them, for they know not what they do “ Kettle in the room but not a sausage to put in it. Beds hard enough to bruise you. Breakfast is 1 slice of bread, I glass of water, I cup of coffee and not a minute before 7.30. It’s dire. It is actually worth it for the unique experience. Did I mention the wonderful view of the biggest graveyard you’ve ever laid eyes on, not in the distance, you’re actually on it
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Bad experience - Both hotel hotlines picked up only 1 of my 20 calls. There was a shuttle bus incident that was extremely inconvenient and very badly handled. Room had dirty walls and a broken TV. The toilet sink was mouldy. There were dust balls on the floorboard.
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Renovated - I stayed there whilst the facility was under renovation, which had already reached the room I used.
- Verified traveler (2/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent stay but dirty in some areas. - Ceilings were mouldy. Bedsheets had black prints on them and weren't completely dry. Air conditioning was noisy. Bathroom ventilation cover on ceiling was very dusty. Room floors were dusty.
- KWAI MING (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Rooms are large and clean. Buses are very close to hotel. Location is not the best but is close to the water.
- Stephen (2/5): Disappointment - I stayed for 6 nights. Room service was minimal, never changed bed linens or even tidy up the bed, never changed or washed the cups, I doubted they ever cleaned the bath room or vacuum the floor. They only replaced bath towels daily and that was all. The breakfast was surviving diet : cup of tea/coffee, 2 pieces of bread,an apple & orange juice. The hotel shuttle only offer limited service. The only positive part is the room is quite big and lots of storage lockers & efficient wi-fi. Certainly will not be the first for me to consider next time .
- Ilan i (8/5): - I didn’t showed up at the right day I didn’t mistake when I book the hotel but they were very friendly with me
- Verified traveler (4/5): You get what you pay for - Very dated, beds very hard, furniture stained ,lamp shade broken , curtains dirty, just need attention to detail, and a good old clean, and an up to date tv would help.
- T L (6/5): - Hotel room is spacious. Nevertheless, hotel rooms need basic renovation. Front Desk service is very good. Room cleanliness needs improvement.
- Alexander (10/5): Spacious room with view - Easy access to airport (bus A10) and other parts of town (direct buses to Causeway Bay, Central, Kowloon, ...). The hotel is not new, but the rooms are spacious, rather comfortable, and have good city views. There's a cafe at the lobby level where breakfast and mainly Western-style meals are provided. It's a little my room on the top floor smelled somewhat musty and the window could not be opened to allow air flow, but overall I was very happy with the stay.
- Edna (4/5): Feeling Uncomfortable - The room is too old and bathroom has stains.
The mini ref is so dirty. Window view is disappointing due to near the cemetery.
The hotel lobby seems like an office.
Hotel staff are too accommodating.
This is my second time in HK and I can really compare it with the previous hotel I used to check in.
- Cathy (10/5): - good convenient location close to my relative who is in Aberdeen area
- kyle (10/5): Best hotel, best staff for best price - If you can find availability at this hotel, book it! You won’t find anything better for the price it offers.
- K M A (8/5): The room size is quite good in HK - A bit old condition
- Avel (10/5): Nice Hotel.. close to transportation, restaurants - Staffs are cordial and knowledgeable, no problem. Excellent service. We even got a single bed room as requested. Thanks to everyone..
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room is large and functional. Will sure stay again.
- Anne (8/5): Convenient location - Great location with lots of public transportation going all directions. Staff was amazing and helpful. The building was kind of old and they just started renovating their rooms. Highly recommended their restaurant for breakfast and lunch, reasonable price and good coffee.
Their rooms are very spacious but very dark, they could have replace their light bulbs to make it brighter. The only set back was the cleanliness, they are not dirty but did not do a good job, I don't think they vacuum the floor daily. We drank tea out of their cups and it's been left unwashed for several days, when I bumped into the lady and ask, she said she wears a rubber glove for the cleaning and the gloves are dirty, which means there's no intention of cleaning the cups without the gloves, surprise......overall it's still a good experience with this hotel.
- Ronald (10/5): Best stay ever... - The stay with Caritas was amazing.. That's why I keep on coming back to this property..Place was clean..the Front desk staff were Excellent;-);-);-)..location was nice very near to places you would need during your stay ..
- gnuysc (4/5): Hotel housekeeping is lousy - The reception is not at the front and have to look for the concierge on the first floor. The moment we stepped into the room were shocked that it looked as if it has never been cleaned - dusty furniture, dirty floor and hairs still visible in the bathtub and bathroom floor.........
- Verified traveler (8/5): - While the facility is older, it was clean and pleasant. I felt safe in the neighborhood, and after a day or so of wandering the streets, even welcome. Bus stops for greater Hong Kong are directly outside the door.
- Phyllis (8/5): Spacious room and convenient - Spacious room in Hong Kong standard, convenient transport, Bus no. A10 from airport to the hotel, lots of food and shopping in local area, walk to Aberdeen for 5 mins
- C and G Chan (8/5): We stayed here for 16 nights with mixed reviews. - There were few items in our room such as water leakage, drawer misfit, insufficient hot water, and curtain drops found in the first day or our stay. They were resolved promptly by maintenance person so that we did not have to change room. In addition, friendly staffs provided timely assistance during our stay. Shuttle services were great. There were two false fire alarms during our stay and they were unacceptable and disturbing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Facilities are dated - Friendly staff but facilities are dated. The shower temperature is inconsistent, the water sometimes turn completely cold.
- queenie (8/5): A10 from airport direct to hotel. - Hotel provides shuttle bus to HK central. Easy traveling around the island n Kowloon. Nice place to stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I stayed at this hotel for a week and a half and all in all, it was okay. The rooms were very spacious and beds were pretty comfortable. I had to change rooms (4 times to be exact) in the middle of my stay because the toilet started leaking and noticed they did not have a standard in cleaning rooms or replenishing supplies. Furthermore, most of the floors smelled like cigarettes. Not my best experience, but it wasn’t horrible.
- Mark (8/5): Rooms you can actually move in. - Great size rooms for Hong Kong, beds quite hard and a little uncomfortable. Good transport links to HK and Kowloon and airport, free shuttle bus service to HK central
- Wing Ming (10/5): - 14 nights staying in a twin bed room with sea view. Hotel is inside a residential area with easy traffic
- Thomas (6/5): Close to bus stop - Overall ok except entrance is a three step up into lobby, there’s no ram for luggage push up, handicapped is not suggested.furniture need upgrades
- Victor (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff!, Spacious roomm, Reasonable price, safe neighbourhood!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cleanliness needs attention. Hairs on the flour and some mold in bathroon
- richard (8/5): - reasonably priced with good size rooms and easy traffic
- Francis (8/5): wheel-chair room serves it5s purposes. - Good location for traveling by bus. For the price of HK$2 a senior person can go all directions in Hong Kong Convenient to Bank, Super market, MacDonald and Chinese Dim Sum Restaurant. Air quality is cleaner than Causeway Bay and city center.
- Mum (8/5): good
- spacious room, close to bus stop but not close to MRT, convenient location. Bedding and pillow are hard, not easy to sleep the first night, but later is OK. eateries around.
- Myo (8/5): - It is reasonable
But the cleaning could be improved
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel to stay with a big room and clean. - Transportation is available to choose for anywhere. Bus A10 which is the direct way and cheaper to choose to the airport.
- Ralph (4/5): Too far away from the city centre - Leaking on the vent,it take half an hour to get the cool air from the air condition.
The hotel charge 3 dollar for any local call. But the bell men was very nice and helpful.
- Hung (2/5): terrible cleaning room service, old facility - Untidy and unclean, the facility is very old and weary.
- Phyllis (8/5): Easy access by airport bus and spacious room - The hotel is a bit old but the room is big and spacious in HK standard. Location is convenient and local. Airport bus A10 take you to the hotel with only one minute walk, easy access to Aberdeen.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good overall. Must note it's in the south and 45 min away from north Hong Kong and Kowloon where the action is. It is much more local in the south.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfort accommodation - The property provides comfortable, quiet, safe, affordable accommodation is a convenient location. Breakfast choices were excellent and reception staff were caring, professional and easy to deal with. In addition, security personnel provided whatever assistance was requested.
- K M A (8/5): Convenient for public transport, good shuttle - Staff good service
- Verified traveler (4/5): You get what you pay for - Our rooms were pretty dirty, especially the carpet. You can tell that they don't vacuum let alone shampoo it. I didn't smell it, but my husband said there was an ammonia odor by the window bench.
The towels and sheets were also dirty from rust stains, most likely from the washer or dryer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good choice moderately priced hotel. - Good hotel for a short term stay in Hong Kong. Everything was good except for not having a microwave in the room or anywhere in the hotel. Staff was ok without much knowledge of English. Clean and simple rooms. Might stay here again.
- Robert Frederick Jr (8/5): Convenience and Hospitality - The place has easy access to most parts of Hong Kong, the free shuttle to the city was a plus factor, friendly and helpful staff are always there to assist and guide the guests.
- Jason (6/5): Affordable hotel - Affordable hotel
Size of room for Hong Kong was good
TV and TV options subpar
Internet fast 20-30 MBPS
Staff friendly
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I have nothing to complain this kind of price range
- chay hiang (6/5): Budget room - Very run down. Need refurbishing.
- Jason (2/5): 'Hotel' is in the middle of nowhere - First, it took about 1 1/2 hours to reach this 'hotel' by the confusing Hong Kong bus system. That was a rude awakening in itself. Second, there is a lot of 'false advertising' given for this 'hotel'. This place is more of an apartment building with some of the units converted to 'hotel rooms'. The description reads, "Make yourself at home in one of the 119 air-conditioned rooms featuring minibars." No minibars. A tiny fride, a couple of cups and a water boiler (with no coffee or tea provided). The description then reads, "Make use of convenient amenities, which include complimentary wireless Internet access and tour/ticket assistance. Guests can catch a ride to nearby destinations on the complimentary area shuttle." I say "Good Luck getting any assistance from this 'hotel' staff, unless you're fluent in Chinese." There is absolutely NOTHING nearby this place; a 'complementary shuttle' (which I didn't see) to 'nearby destinations' would be useless.
The description then reads, "Enjoy a meal at a restaurant, or stay in and take advantage of the hotel's room service (during limited hours)." There are a couple of restaurants outside, along the streets; but, unless you can read Chinese, good luck with that. And, as far as their (the 'hotel's') room service (as per the description) there is none. All that they have is a small cafeteria beside the lobby, that serves breakfast and lunch. No description of what is served nor hours of service given. Do NOT book this!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - nice experience generally except the technical staff is not friendly to the guest
- Verified traveler (2/5): Good view of the hotel! - The pillows are too hard. I couldn't sleep that night until 6am due to the bed and the pillows!!!! Also you can enjoy the view of grave right next to you.
- Aga G. (2/5): Awful - I booked this hotel as there was little choice within my price limit and because it had good reviews and offered free wifi. First of all, the location is ok if you want to stay near Aberdeen area. Bus from city centre stops very close to the hotel, so does the bus going to Stanley. Thats where the pluses end. The actual hotel was horrible. At first, we thought it was ok, receptionist was pleasant, the room seemed big and nice for the money,HOWEVER we quickly realized that the price is low for a reason(and it's not even that cheap).
-the toilet wouldn't flush until we complained and were given special instructions on how to do it!
-the pipe in the bathroom was leaking so water all over the bathroom
-the fridge wasn't working and it was disgusting, never been cleaned!
-the floor had not seen a brush in ages! Not to mention a mop..there was dirt and crumbs all over so we didn't dare take oue shoes off
-the towels and pillows had someone's hair on them!!I can only presume they hadn't been changed..
-there were holes in the sheets and stains on the bedding in general so we slept in our clothes
-bed very hard and uncomfortable, couldn't sleep
-even though we were on 13th floor, the walls and windows are paper-thin and we could hear every bus going passed, every noise. Can't imagine what it would be like if this hotel was located in a busier area!
-a lot of noise from the corridor and neighbours(could hear their phone ringing in the middle of the night)
-No WIFI signal whatsoever!
-Phone in the room not working
When we complained we heard:' what would you want me to do about it?! !!!!Well if this is the attitude of the staff, no wonder the place looks so awful. Stay away!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great service for the price but rooms are dusty - Staffs are polite and helpful. Rooms quite spacious but bathroom is very tiny. The thing that bordered me most is cleanliness. Carpeted floor full of dust.
- Andrew (8/5): Nice choice - It's a good hotel but the only bad thing is the graveyard in the neighborhood
- Alan K. (10/5): 2 day stay - Had a room with 2 twin beds, lots of room to put my bags. Hardwood floors there were free toothbrushes, I stayed in another hotel which I could barely store my luggage, this place was a dream for me in Hong Kong. The window had a space to sit so you could look out the window.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room is big. Ok for this price.
- George (6/5): Inexpensive and roomy - You can't find any other hotels in Hong Kong with that kind of space at this price. Furniture is decent and the carpet is old. They never vacuum the carpet during my stay. The bathroom is clean though. I would stay again next time if price remain the same.
- Said (10/5): A good - A really nice hotel good bus connection to most places also free shuttle bus service to airport express trains
- Stephen (4/5): Run down hotel and poor service - On the whole the hotel is pretty run down and needs a modern up-grade, the carpet is old and smelly and I stayed there for 6 nights and I don't think it has been vacuumed once. The furnitures are old and tardy and the wall paint is quite old too and the walls have no decorations and makes the room lifeless. It has no tea bag or coffee supply and they often forgotten to replace toilet rolls. The lights are too dim for reading and cannot be adjusted. All in all, I won't stay in this hotel again !
- noga (6/5): quite, small room, not close to the center - we stayed just one night. if we had to stay more nights we would look for a closer hotel to the center. it is a simple small hotel, small room, quit far from the center, staff spoke english.
- Zhu (6/5): Big room big room big room - The receiptionist girl gave me a cold face when I arrived at night. She seemed did not like to spare an extra minute with a mainland traveller looking guy like me. But the next day another girl warmly helped me to get a taxi at rush hour by standing in the cold wind for at least 20 minutes. This hotel is good for traveller with low budget and being sicking of regular HK hotel room sizes.
- Leo (6/5): OK for just staying a night - The room overall is clean, except the bathroom. The bathroom is ok to use but it's not really nice.
Staffs at the frontdesk are not very friendly. Room is big enough though.
- Ashis Kumar (6/5): Room with a view of Hong Kong - comfortable location. the staff was really helpful. the breakfast was good.
- Michelle8 (8/5): Great find for Hong Kong! - The room was really big which isn't the usual for Hong Kong. The staff were friendly enough. It was really easy to get here from the airport on the bus. All of the stops are in English and the hotel is just a 3 minute walk from the bus stop. Our booking said that breakfast was included but they didn't want to give us breakfast for free. We showed them the booking that said "Free breakfast included" and finally they gave in. The wifi worked well and the room was fairly clean. The bed was rock hard but overall it is a really good find for HongKong. Central is just a short bus ride.
- bbq (4/5): Not worth the money. - The room smelled like mold. The internet didn't work. The toilet didn't work properly. The window couldn't be opened.
I have stayed in 5 dollar a night hotels that were better.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice, and close the harbour - Very easy to find, provided you have business card and generally very pleasing place to stay.
Ideal for a week
- mmmc (8/5): clean room - Around 30 minutes' bus ride from Central. Small neighbourhood with few eateries, and a supermarket nearby. A cemetery at the left side of the building, but if you ask for a room with street view, you won't see it. Hair dryer must be borrowed from the counter. Shower is fixed on the wall, not detachable.
- hiroaki (8/5): comfortable. It is located in - comfortable. It is located in a downtown area so you can have a relaxed stay. I had a things to do in Central area and it is 15 minutes by bus. it was not bad. it is close to Stanley area. It is a good advantage.
- Anonymous (8/5): Nice hotel but location is far - Nice hotel but location is far from the city area. The hotel management may need to do something how to minimize the noise (furniture dragging, door slamming and etc..).
- Anonymous (8/5): Extremely good value for money - Extremely good value for money even though location a little bit remote. However they have shuttle bus to Central HK which is very convenient.
- shanshank (8/5): The price of hotel was really - The price of hotel was really superb. But the location is not so good as there is NO market area or central part of city near to this place. The local transport is not available after late night. Even, Breakfast is not really good. But good for sole traveler or for long stay. Best of luck !
- Anonymous (10/5): very nice hotel, very clean and - very nice hotel, very clean and the price is very accomodating ,, only the location and hardship in transportation especially at nite
- Eszter (10/5): Correct service for correct price. - Correct service for correct price. Location is not central, but the centre of HKG island is easily accessible by bus in 15 min. Helpful staff, clean rooms. I can recommend it for anyone wishing to stay in HKG for a couple of days.
- Man (10/5): Cheap and Clean ! Easy access - Cheap and Clean ! Easy access for food even mid of the night !
- Anonymous (8/5): it is really far from town center - it is really far from town center ...,but value for money!
