Guest Reviews
- KarlP95 (8/5): Good value hotel with terrible internet - The Deluxe Pool View room is spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool area, I stayed here for a week in September 2025.
There are two large single beds joined together although they are individually made up, this is not the double bed I had expected or booked (see photo). There are no power points near the bed but there are four on the wall behind a really long desk with a stool and a large mirror behind it.
The room overall is clean and tidy. The sheets on the bed are white and crisp, the bathroom is good with decent shower pressure but lacking truly hot water, you have to let it run for a good five minutes to get anything remotely resembling hot. The shower head is mounted on the wall but cannot be moved up or down so at full strength you have to stand at the other end of the shower cubicle to get wet or reduce the pressure to a trickle. Soap is provided at the sink. Shampoo and shower soap are in wall mounted dispensers within the shower area. Towels are clean and replaced with housekeeping, some can be a bit scratchy but most are soft. Housekeeping is daily when they will make your bed (not change sheets) clean up, dust, change towels and mop the floor.
There is a TV in the room with nothing but local Indonesian channels. WiFi borders glacial to totally unusable in the room and borderline usable in the lobby and restaurant area so no streaming for me.
Location is good and is close to most of the Kuta shops, restaurants and bars. Some great warungs in the area offering really cheap and tasty food. Good laundry nearby.
Pool is nice although there are only three sun beds and little room for more due to the rooms surrounding the pool being quite close. Sun hits the pool until mid afternoon and then the pool is in shade.
You can buy a breakfast at the hotel restaurant for 50,000IDR ($5AUD). Choices are Western - eggs, toast, jam, juice, coffee or tea - there is also continental or Indonesian choices available. There are salt and pepper sachets on the table, sealed but with nothing in them - weirdest thing ever. The baked beans with the western breakfast are served cold out of the can as are the chicken sausages - weird again. Could do with an extra slice of toast for the butter and jam, you get two pieces of toast with an egg for each slice but if you have both slices with your eggs there's nothing left for the jam. Coffee is from a coffee pot and there is hot (not boiling) water for tea too.
The door to the balcony in my room needed to either be rehung or some of the wood shaved off as it does not fit and close properly, you have to shove it and in doing so it makes a really horrible grinding screeching noise as it closes, there is no delicate way of avoiding the noise. It’s no problem during the day but late at night or early mornings it would clearly be heard by other guests.
The issues I’ve highlighted could be fixed fairly easily. If they could sort the wifi out this would be a great place to base yourself if you work online, otherwise you’d need to either have an e-sim from Airalo or a local sim card to get things done - or stay elsewhere.
- John (10/5): - Staff was amazing definitely would stay again
- John (10/5): - The place is clean good staf helpful and alwas smiling. Its run down but repairs are happening. Locations is good.
- Craig (8/5): - Overall, it's a fairly nice, older property. It typically takes about 5 minutes for water to get hot in the shower. Power options are limited - none by the bed. Adding some USB outlets would be a great and inexpensive addition. There is a bit of a gap underneath the door leading to the balcony, and that definitely let's in noise from the pool/courtyard area. Also the potential for bugs as well although thankfully, I didn't experience any. Extra points for the safe, YouTube on the TV, and a terrific location near some of the best areas people would like to visit, and yet virtually no traffic noise.
- Antonius (8/5): - Goed hotel,net personeel.alleen breakfast kan beter.
- kym (8/5): Great location - Great location, staff are excellent, easy to walk everywhere. Hotel is need some tlc, its getting a little run down, but its a little gem.
- MARK (2/5): - Pretty poor management skills handling situations
- Ben (10/5): - Very housewarming feel like vibe very welcoming
- Mark (8/5): - I didn't like the loud mouth people talking poolside late at night and could do so till midnight
- John (6/5): - Property is okay for price.Like the pool area and pool surrounding cleaner.
- John (4/5): - It’s okay
- Gilbert (10/5): - An excellent location in Kuta. The beautiful Beach at just few Minutes on Foot.
- Prakash (8/5): - The room is comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. The property is affordable and walking distance to Kuta beach and a variety of restaurants
- Timothy (10/5): - All rooms are in a U shape around the pool. Close walk to beach, waterpark and shopping malls. Daily room cleaning if you want, fresh towels daily also. Nothing negative to say about this hotel, definitely staying here again.
- Robyn (8/5): - Was clean comfortable staff lovely very helpful
- paulfM6300FD (10/5): A Hidden Gem - Definitely a hidden gem. Located 10 minutes or so from the airport 250k rp in a bluebird taxi and down a little, but surprisingly busy road. 3* accommodation with a 5* welcome.
Room was basic, but clean and comfy.
Breakfast also basic, choices were rice, noodles or American. Incredibly tasty though.
Swimming pool, clean and clear and nice and refreshing after a day of walking around.
Location is perfect, just 10 minutes to walk to the beach and past the stalls and to all the restaurants and eateries.
Good value, really nice, would definitely stay here again.
- Mark (4/5): - Did have English tv channels only Balinese pretty bad
- Joyce (8/5): - Although we hadn't visited for 4 years, the staff remembered us and came out to greet us.
Tip: Having a late check out costs more than staying an extra night, if you book it in advance over the web.
- Hans (8/5): - The rooms are in a side street, so its away from loud traffic which is not easy in Bali. Also a lot of food options, laundry and massage withing a few metres.
In the upper rooms you share a door and a terrace with other room. So if you're unlucky like me and they smoke in their room it comes to your room as well.
Also if your neigboors decide to chat on the terrace you share it can be a bit noisy.
- 112abhinavt (10/5): Good - Nice hotel in prime location but Inside very peaceful with good swimming pool and staff is very cooperative and help full they always welcome with smile and hotel room are very comfortable and this all come in very affordable price for vegetarian people resturant is near by to this location
- ZACHARY (10/5): - GREAT LOCATION
- MARTIN (8/5): - Neat and tidy
- Bradley (8/5): A Month in Kuta. - I spent a month at the Hotel which included the Christmas New years period. The Hotel is dated as are a lot of the older style Hotels. The room was large enough for two people, cleaned daily with fresh towels also. Staff did a great job keeping the room clean The pool is clean and a good size. Restaraunts and bars are within walking distance and so is Kuta beach. It is what it is, a cheap no frills Hotel. Yes i will stay there again.
- Ranjith_Raghavan (2/5): Stayed there for 3 nights and had booked 4 rooms - We were a group of 10 people who had booked 4 rooms between 28th December to 31st December 202. The receptionist was very rude, unfriendly and showed us attitude. When asked about breakfast, she mentioned a hotel name and said all indians eat there and simply asked us to go there. The rooms were very very basic, bathroom had no tap, broken and had only a hand shower, the plug points were broken, they did not even have a kettle. In one room, the bathroom door was jammed, after complaining they rectified it, in another room the aircon was not working, when asked for an alternative room, they said they did not have one. If you are looking for little privacy, do not pick this hotel since the bathroom doesn't have a lock and some of the rooms have shared balcony. Be prepared for a stranger peeping through the balcony door when you are inside your room anytime. The reviews might be paid, because I felt the opposite after going there directly. Location is the only advantage since it is closer to the beach and city area, but they don't respect customers. Pls don't book this hotel. There are lots of hotels near by in the same area with better cost and better service.. I was not able to give zero rating, so gave 1... Pathetic hotel and pathetic receptionist.
- bonyp470 (4/5): budget hotel in Kuta area - I stayed here 4 nights in march 2020. price is really low and good. location is also good, near to beach and main happening area. friendly staff and this hotel is good choice for solo travellers :)
breakfast is poor, could be better. they have only bread and butter as breakfast.
room size is big and neat for the price.
- Nissnolly (2/5): Very unpleasant hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE - The most dreadful experience of my life. Stayed here recently and have PTSD. Dirty, rundown, dangerous place. God knows how this hotel (hole) has positive reviews?? I don’t trust them.. not safe for children, prostitution rife. Pathetic breakfast, dirty, mouldy rooms. Great sheets and towels.. i could go on but still having nightmares. Absolute disgusting place, spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere. A police cell would be more comfortable and smell a lot more pleasant.
- anncJ6150RF (2/5): Welcome to HELL. AVOID - Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Flora Hotel in Kuta and my family and I are traumatised.
Although the price wasn't the most expensive we really didn't expect what we had to endure!
It is nothing more than a run down shack.
It is in such a great need of repair and should not be advertised as a family hotel.
The tiles in and around the pool are a death trap, broken, cracked and dangerously slippy.
Huge grids with exposed wires next to the only 3 sunbeds in the place.
It was over run with cockroaches and very unhygienic.
There were prostitutes frequenting rooms and being paraded past us at night time.
There were no English speaking staff so we found it difficult to complain.
The shower cubicles were disgusting and filthy, the mirrors were cracked and the towels were threadbare.
There was a long serving guest here who was allowed to play loud music, smoke and drink in the pool long after 10pm, with no consideration for the other guests, threats of violence were made from her to the other guests and the police had to be called, there was no authorisation from the Manager it appeared like she was also frightened from this crazy "guest".
Please DO NOT BRING CHILDREN HERE!
I have never visited such a dirty unhygienic "hotel" before like this and I certainly will not be returning to put myself and my family in danger again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great property for the price, definitely spend the extra to get the superior room on the ground floor by the pool.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is good but appearance is but funny rooms ar good and clean
- Verified traveler (8/5): - good location, great staff, breakfast only ok overall good value for the dollar
- CHONG (8/5): Good - Overall is good. But the entrance area a bit difficult to find
- Maria (10/5): Happy holiday - Very nice place good location friendly service
- kym (10/5): Great little hotel - Close to walking distance to the beach and shopping centre. Rooms down stairs have pool just outside your door. Pool clean. Friendly staff.
- IRENE (8/5): Hotel Flora - The hotel is fairly basic and on a side street but room is kept clean and they provide you with supplies. Cheap hotel but basic but in the heart of Kuta opposite bars etc. staff are friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a well priced, friendly, clean Balinese style hotel.
- 400kevinb (8/5): Another great stay - well not long back in the UK following another 15night stay at the Flora. We find this place such a wonderful little hotel, with friendly staff and at a great price. Its not a 4or5* but it is so much more with such friendly staff. We have stayed here for the past 5/6 years, and have already booked a 3wk stay in Aug/Sept 2020.
Thanks again.
Improvements made this year included removal of a palm tree which gives more sun lounging areas, more replanting of its may flowers and a new fence to its bar area.
The only downside was the air-con in our room which was a little noisy and not controllable with the remote but it did not spoil any aspect of our stay.
we use the hotel for its driver services and always get fantastic service. Highly recommended.
- 310charmaines (2/5): Worst hotel ever - We checked out immediately. The most basic, old, worn out hotel imaginable. I’ve been to Bali about 30 times and I’m comfortable with cheap hotels but this was asking too much. The basic reception is a hint of what was to come. Walking down a thin corridor with dirty walls, our room was tiny. The floors need replacing, the furniture cracked and broken. No tea/coffee, no hotel safe at all-even in reception. No room fridge. My kids and I were heartbroken and now seeking a refund. We immediately checked out and into a different hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE. The pool is dirty and the swim up bar is empty. Biggest disappointment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great central location and everything is within a 10 minute walk. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Pool is great.
- Joy (8/5): - The flora is central to the things that we want. We have stayed here may times. Book a deluxe room as the standard rooms are quite small.
- fabrizi0xj0b (8/5): Very good - Not far from the cool area in the city center, not far from the beach; I mean where you can surf since the sea is not good for beach life
Hotel is clean, staff kind. Rooms are ok, with balcony or direct to the swimming pool.
Breakfast ok
- Gilbert (10/5): Worth the money - The place is amazing. Situated in the middle of everything but yet far enough from all the noises
- Wins_Salvador (10/5): A gem in the city. Friendly staff. Great location. - A gem in the city. Friendly staff. Great location. Very near the famous Kuta beach known for surfing and basically a lovely beach. Proximity to a lot of restaurants of all types of cuisine. Will definitely choose this hotel again if I get a chance to go back to Bali.
- martinsT9373UW (8/5): Lovely little hotel - It's close to everything but away from the crazy busy main road. Staff are all super friendly, with a special mention for Sophie on the front desk who was fantastic, always smiling and extremely helpful. Room cleaned and bed made up, also fresh towels every day, (the sheets are not changed every day) linen and sheets are not pristine white but are clean. Room facilities were good, everything you need for your stay, and very good A/C which was not noisy at all. Not much room around the pool and only three sunbeds, but you are only a 5 minute walk from the beach. Breakfast was okay, eggs anyway you wanted with toast, pancake with fruit or an Indonesian style breakfast (all cooked to order). We only paid £22 a night for a deluxe room, but got a lot for our money and would highly recommend this hotel.

- Anthony (8/5): - Room smelled a musty on arrival, nice room next to pool
- Verified traveler (8/5): - One of the better budget rooms I have stayed in. Nice staff and in a quiet area close to central Kuta.
- stephen (10/5): Holiday 2019 - Great hotel good location great pool very friendly staff
- Fadebaker4196 (6/5): Value for money - The Flora is a little tired in the rooms and could do with a bit of a make over, but generally it is a great go to hotel for the price. Some aircons are not as cool as others, so make sure you ask to test it before committing to a room, but otherwise a nice place to stay. Convenient and quiet ~
- Dabckk9 (2/5): Cancelled my booking and ignored my emails.Do not book here. - After booking very expensive flights to Bali I booked directly on their website. I received my booking confirmation!
Four weeks later, they out of nowhere cancel my reservation. They ask me to book again. I go to their website and the price of the room is triple! Absolutely ridiculous.
So now that I have already booked my flights and trips and rentals for my duration in Bali I find out last minute that I have no where to stay. When I inquired about it, no response from the hotel - absolute radio silence.
Guys do not book here, you will NOT be guaranteed a place. They have no honor.
- YusriB (8/5): Fullfilling - Room was good, conveniently located based on my needs, friendly staff, helpful, basic breakfast but fulfilling, a little bit aged place but still fill your basic needs considering the price range, walking distance to good eating place - Nasi Bebek Bu Rima, Nikmat Nasi Jawa, Ayam Plengkong,
- farah (8/5): - nice hotel..staff also nice and good..very recommended
- Sharonjm (2/5): Appalling in more ways than one! - Appalling service, terrible, dirty accommodations, unclean and itchy bedding. No air conditioning, rude staff, horrible breakfast.
Nothing like statements in Booking.com.
Wanted payment upfront.
Be sure to check your room BEFORE paying. Very unclean.
- Samantha (8/5): - Friendly and accommodating staff, easy and accessible location, clean and comfortable rooms, and a nice pool.
- littleiggy (6/5): Needs work - The staff are lovely and are pleasant. The hotel needs work especially near the pool area. Some of the rooms suffer damp and requires attention, I put this down to poor ventilation. I stayed in the suite room, the room was clean and tidy. There was a safety security box for our use. The breakfast is basic but Ok. This hotel is well placed for local shops/bars and massage parlour's etc. This hotel is value for money but basic. Would I stay there again, No,, I would pay a bit more money and stay in the same area but on the beach road.
- Md (8/5): Comfortable room - Very quite at nite. Breakfast not much choice but still ok
- jordykinny (10/5): Good. - Good hotel. Clean rooms. Comes with free breakfast, and pool. Friendly staff, very helpful. Good restaurant across the road ( the bail office) and a laundry place across the road too. Good size rooms with balcony. Has good air-conditioning. Rooms are cleaned daily. Beds are made daily with clean new cheats and blankets. Rooms get free water bottles daily. Good food at breakfast.
Good sized pool. Hotel in the Bali style, yet nice and clean. Pretty good price. Markets close by. About 500 hundred metres or so.
Comes with FREE WIFI, Which is ok. Not the fastest WiFi, but good enough.
Rooms are pretty sound proof. You can't hear the traffic.
I recommend the Bali office for meals like lunch and dinner. Pretty good prices for good serves. Friendly staff there too.
You can buy lunch and dinner at the hotel. But it is NOT free.
But overall, I give it five stars for being a good hotel and in a good location, with good breakfast, good food around and good staff.
Smoking is a problem of you are a family because people sometimes smoke at breakfast and at the pool.
- Sam (10/5): - Good location as price I paid. Good customer service even if they lost my reservation. I went there a day later but reception gave me me a day extra free. Expedia has no effective customer Care tools on the website. Thank you
- ashishbH7475KE (10/5): The Flora Kuta bali - This is a very good hotel at a very reasonable price. The location is bit inner but market is close by only. Not much facilities but if you are going to spend max time outside roaming, this is very good option at very good price.rooms are clean and staff is very cooperative.Pool is nice.
- PH1979 (6/5): Just ok - First of all, there are electric blackouts and generator, or generator that would provide electricity to rooms. Foul smell in toilet, cockroaches in the room. Walls are like paper and misbehaving youngsters invade the pool area and drink until late night.
Only few tv channels available, internet is lousy and breakfast of egg and few bread slices are not what I expected. But the price is cheap, so is everything else also.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice clean and quiet hotel
- Clean and quiet hotel, close to everything in Kuta. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Hermawan Diah (8/5): Good location with reasonable price - Good location
- michael (8/5): Good service. Good setup. A bit tired. - Nice environment. A bit tired but overall great value. Good location. Would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Would never recommend this place to anyone
I’ve been to Bali many times it’s probably the worst place I’ve stayed
- H.B (6/5): Good location - Good location near every things beach, restaurant Legian road
Some reception staff not helpful and breakfast
Not good
H
- Verified traveler (8/5): comfort room with perfect shower - enjoy esp the hot shower with high pressure! comfortable bed. the spring roll sold in mamaku right opposite the hotel was sooo delicious!
- Joy (8/5): Central hotel starting to get a bit rundown. - We have stayed here before and will stay here again. We were travelling with friends and family this time. We were disappointed to find that, despite contacting the hotel by e-mail with our arrival details, the air-conditioning and refrigerators were not turned on when we arrived. (Very important as one relative carries insulin!)
Sophie (receptionist) arranged a few surprises for my mother-in-law who was celebrating her 90th birthday.
- Chris (6/5): central to Kuta -
pleasant hotel close to shops and good value Warungs. A buffet breakfast is needed and an exhaust fan in bathroom would be an improvement, minor things but a 3 star should have.
- Subhranil (10/5): Nice hotel and excellent staff - Very nice hotel with excellent staff support. Food was very good and affordable. Hotel is close to kuta shopping street and beach.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good locations near the kuta Centre, beach,10 minutes to legion bars and lifeneight
But no refrigerator in the room
- Tiba (8/5): Good hotel!! - I had a wonderful experience staying at The Flora Hotel. Simple and Comfortable. Worth the price.
- ray (8/5): - central to all things, very friendly ,we always enjoy our stay at this very affordable hotel
- Lida (10/5): - Close to yoga barn and monkey forest. Staff is helpful and friend, great price would stay here again.
- Bela Roman (8/5): Good cheap hotel for a relaxing holiday in Kuta - Cheap hotel close to all facilities and relaxing as still out of the bustle
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Rotten bread is served in our American Breakfast. Although they changed a new one for us after we made a complaint, I still find it ridiculous as it is not only 1 bread but 3. While we paid more for extra person, the extra bed is not ready and it is said that it is due to us not mentioning in special request. Extra towel and slippers were not prepared after room service.
- Rey (6/5): 3rd time staying at the Flora Kuta - The hotel room and bathroom is comfortable and is cleaned daily. This was our third time to stay in this hotel. The swimming pool is always inviting. Hotel staff are nice and accommodating and provided us with early check-in. The breakfast however isn't buffet anymore which is a little bit disappointing. Overall the stay was very nice, close walking distance to Kuta beach which was good.
- onkar (10/5): Worth Staying at good price ..!! - Its good to stay at the best cost!!
Hotel staff is very helpful and wise ...
specially manager Mr. Abdul he is really kind and helpful.
will again love to stay here...
kuta beach is very near ...
it has good swimming pool .
Happy to Stay!!
- Sam (10/5): Hidden Gem - Awesome stay. Super clean, great staff, affordable, pool was always clean and accessible, ac worked well. In a great area close walk to the beach with wonderful shopping and other activities. Lots of cheap restaurants surrounding. Hotel arranged for transport for cheap to the airport. No complaints A hidden gem and the best bang for your buck that I found after travelling Bali for 3 weeks.
- caro (6/5): Nice hotel directly in the city. - Hotel is nice to go out in the night. It's directly in the city and not far away from the clubs and bars.
- carl (6/5): No problems - Hotel had all I needed breakfast was below par but no big deal would stay again
- Len (6/5): Nearly a lovely place to stay. - the flora is an older hotel in need of some tlc. While I was there there was no hot water and the shower head in my room was faulty. Also I would have liked tea/coffee making facilities. Pool is great and staff are friendly but housekeeping is a bit hit and miss. And finally breakfast is just ok. Pity is it would take very little effort to really make this a lovely little hotel to stay at.
- Len (6/5): Nearly there - Stayed at the Flora for 1 week solo holiday. I found the staff to be quite pleasant and had no problems in this area at all. The rest of the experience however could be improved. Hotel is old and it shows. Although this didnt bother me in itself the shower head was faulty and I had no hot water my entire stay. Also I really would have appreciated coffee/tea making facilities in room but there is none. Breakfast is adequate and fills but nothing special, to be fair this Hotel isnt and doesnt pretend to be more than it is. Pool looked excellent and was clean. Overall a reasonable experience and would consider staying again IF Coffee/Tea facilities were provided and housekeeping improved a little. Overall, could easily be better than it currently is. I should say I brought none of my concerns to the attention of the staff, I feel that these things need to be addressed before guests arrive.
- philip (8/5): tranquil and comfortable hotel - very nice place, I stayed an extra week. Close to the nightlife but tucked away in a cool sidestreet, this hotel has pleasant rooms situated around a central pool, very tranquil setting. wifi works in room, powerful hot shower, friendly helpful staff, could do with a little more variation at breakfast, but hey ho. Good air con, would stay again, no bother.
- Lynn (8/5): - Simple and comfortable. Friendly staff.
- Shay (8/5): - Facilities: Everyday, Typical; Value: Great deal, Bargain; Service: Professional, Respectful, Friendly; Cleanliness: Pleasant;
Very friendly quests! And Wuyung kitchen across the road has the best juices for 7,000rp (70c aud)
