Guest Reviews

- Nathaniel (10/5): dope vibes great times. - The best location in all of Montreal. Free breakfast was amazing. The staff was amazing and gave amazing recommendations for food and bars. Also, the bed was really comfortable. I liked everything. It was a really chill vibe. It was just a little expensive.

- golfhound27 (10/5): Just perfect!!! - Truly enjoyed Hotel Epik Old Montreal. I had a great stay, everyone here is very welcoming and friendly. I loved the decor, old stone comfortable rooms, very clean, and quiet. Perfect location to discover Old Montreal, Arts district, China town, Casino etc.
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful will visit again! - The staff there were absolutely amazing, they gave us some useful information on places to visit and restaurants to eat. Not to mention they were very vertical friendly and nice. The room was a bit small but the stone that was inside the room made us feel like we weren’t even in a hotel. It’s like I stepped back into the 1800 it was gorgeous. The breakfast they gave us was cute and lovely a hot drink a croissant with cheese and little homemade jams. I would love to thank Nathan, Marqi and Catherine for an amazing experience.
- Samantha (7/5): Clean, bright & comfortable. Cost effective and well positioned for local attractions and eating out - The staff were courteous and helpful. The room was bright, spaceous and comfortable overall.
The shower was excellent and the room was quiet as requested. We appreciated the breakfast box in the morning. The window nearest to the bed had a wicked draft, filling the room with cold air.
More variety with the continental breakfast, i.e a box of cut fruits, and or muesli would be appreciated.
A bathroom with a bath would have been a nice touch.
- Laryssa (10/5): Great staff and great location - Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were able to check-in early and keep our bags at the reception after checking out. I'm not sure if I'm correct, but I think the name of the person that was amazing to us was Katherine. Thank you very much for your good service!!

Misschien is iets duidelijkere informatie hierover handig?
- Robbert (10/5): Nice boutique - Very central location, well equipped room and very helpful staff. Simple but nice continental breakfast. Soft mattress which wasn't good for my back.
- Nicole (9/5): - The room was wonderful and equipped with all the necessary hotels amenities. The front staff was kind and the hotel has a complimentary glass of wine as you check-in. A very nice way to start the stay. The location in old port was very close to the resto we had reservations for that evening. (especially as it was so cold lol). The breakfast basket was so cute and came with 2 of everything. I would go back next time we are looking for a getaway.
- A1505GBbrooker (10/5): Incredible rooms/AMAZING customer service - We visited Montreal for the first time and wanted to stay right in the heart of old Montreal. The location IS PERFECT. Short stroll to Bonaparte restaurant which has true French dinning. Nathaniel checked us in, helped with our bags, and made us feel so appreciated and welcome. He booked our dinning reservation FOR US. And when he found out we were celebrating an anniversary, he brought out a fabulous white wine for us. The rooms are clean, modern, but unique. We booked two and were able to stay on the same floor and spend time in both rooms. The hotel itself makes you feel like you’re staying with family in the way they brought up our coffees and breakfast.
Parking is right behind the hotel and while it’s not a hotel parking, the guys there are solid.
Thank you Hotel Epik for being so wonderful!
1000/10!!

- Akosua (9/5): Perfect little spot - It was a a clean cozy place, right in the heart of town. The staff also gave me a free upgrade even without asking. That was the cherry on top of the cake for me.
- Michel (10/5): Parfait - Accueil chaleureux, personnel compétent et professionnel, quiétude, emplacement, classe, Rien
- Jade (10/5): -
- Valerie (8/5): - The location was excellent-walkable to metro etc. Close to many great restaurants. Room did not have extra seating, a little small. Would have liked a table for eating since breakfast brought to the room.
Not many attractions or suggestions of things to do from staff. They were very friendly however.
- Anas (8/5): Delightful stay, very friendly and helpful staff...would surely visit again - The location is perfect and the place is cozy and welcoming Breakfast was served in a box...a little disappointing to be honest
- Marlene (8/5): - Receptionist was pleasant Sadly there was a lot of construction on the street directly in front of the hotel during our stay. I wish this would have been noted before we booked.

- Charbel (10/5): -
- Dominic (10/5): -
- Sana (10/5): A good romantic night, but would recommend triple glass windows and an improved breakfast. - We liked the genuineness, the authenticity and the humbleness of this hotel. The breakfast was lacking (fresh fruit juice, eggs, fresh cheese, fresh croissant, good coffee..)
- Pettigrew (9/5): -
- Vivian (9/5): Wonderful! A lovely location and nice people - Beautiful, friendly, spacious bathroom No mini fridge
- Cynthia (10/5): -
- Annie (10/5): - Accueil personnalisé et chaleureux. Architecture ancienne avec les commodités modernes.
- Manrique (10/5): Nice place and great location. - No elevator for baggage
- Christopher (9/5): Fantastic Location. Comfortable and stylish rooms and communal areas. Friendly and helpful staff. - Fantastic Location. Comfortable and stylish rooms and communal areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing!

- giannanh (9/5): - Staff was very friendly and the room was lovely and cozy. There is no elevator in the hotel, which could be a problem for wheelchair users.
- Nitin (8/5): -
- Malcolm (8/5): - Staff and location - great room Boxed breakfast - bit limited to a criossant and a piece of cheese.
- Jeffrey (10/5): A very nice hotel. Comfortable, warm, and inviting. Fantastic staff that made our stay memorable - Catherine was amazing and very helpful. The continental breakfast was very nice and left outside your room. The hotel was extremely quiet and the bed was very comfortable. There was no elevator but that did not really impact our stay. The staff was very accommodating and offered to assist on multiple occasions.
- Dr. Klaus (9/5): -
- Merveille (7/5): - Great location The breakfast wasn't good
- Agustini (9/5): -
- Amy (4/5): - We did not stay here because there was road construction right in front of the hotel that went on noisily all day, Plus, as a result of the construction, the sidewalk in front of the hotel was unsafe and difficult to navigate. The room we were given was large and comfortable but had insufficient lighting and was very dark. We were able to move to sister property of the EPIK -- Hotel UVille -- a couple of blocks away and really liked that hotel. It was quiet, had a great staff, a comfortable well-lit room, and an excellent location.
- Dodwell (10/5): -
- Lucy (1/5): - Location and esthetic There was major construction in front of the hotel and a gas pipe was broken just minutes after we checked in and we were evacuated. The hotel should be transparent about work being done in and around the hotel before booking. I’ve stayed there before and loved it. Had I known that the entire street in front of the hotel was completely dug up I would have chosen to stay at another hotel.
- Nicolas (9/5): -
- Alison (8/5): -
- Mary Grace (9/5): - I love the staff especially Catherine and the man who was at the front desk when we moved out. Catherine goes above and beyond her job descritiption. The place is so homey. I slept comfortably & peacefully in the hotel.
The place is near restaurants, botiques, the ferris wheel, Chinatown, Notre Dame and many more.
- Giselle (6/5): -
- Christine (8/5): Hotel Epik, Montreal 😊 - Good location in the old town. Plenty of restaurants and close to the St Lawrence river. Lovely continental breakfast included. Staff were great, especially Catherine 😊 It was a shame the hotel restaurant wasn't open and the hotel bar was spasmodic in its opening. Roadworks outside were annoying but that was no fault of the hotel itself. There are a lot of very steep steps in the annex and no lift, so be prepared.
- Richard (10/5): Great stay - Great little hotel bang in the middle of were you want to be. Staff were friendly and helpful. having access near by gym was a real bonus. All in all a great stay in Montreal.
- Enrique (9/5): - Location All good.
- John (10/5): Wonderful stay, in a great location and in an excellent hotel. - Location and the helpfulness of all the staff especially Catherine at reception who helped plan our itinerary. The hotel is in a historic building in the old town as such it had no lift and steep stairs, so not ideal for anyone with mobility issues.
- Jacqueline (9/5): This is a lovely boutique hotel and staff are most welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable. - It was difficult to find and access the hotel due to construction on the street. We called and Fatima gave us directions to the parking lot behind the hotel and said she would meet us in the lot and take us to the back entrance of the hotel. She was most gracious. Breakfast every day was nice - I loved the freshly made hot chocolate. The croissant and small jar of jam was deliciouis. Vegan options for breakfast were limited. I saw that other guests had yogurt as well as a croissant - there are vegan yogurts too!
- Shi Yi (8/5): - Clean room
- Rhonda (7/5): Good location but problem with access to rooms - The room was very clean, and the location was wonderful. Within easy walking distance of several excellent restaurants. The breakfast had lots of options. It took two elevators to get to our room, one of which was a self-serve, where you had to press the button and hold it down for which floor you wanted. The room had a number of angled ceilings that were very low. We slept with our heads at the foot of the bed to make sure we didn't hit our head when waking.
- Stefania (8/5): -
- Jonathan (9/5): Perfect - Location and style N/a
- Liliane (8/5): -
- Jitka (10/5): -
- Thomas (6/5): - Tolle Lage Enges Zimmer

- James (10/5): - Gorgeous property and love my visits.
- Gustavo (8/5): -
- Ben (10/5): - Lovely, clean room and friendly staff. Great area if you are visiting Montreal. Could not recommend more!
- Murphy (10/5): - Excellent service and great location
- Carolyn (8/5): - Beautiful old architecture in the room. Spacious bathroom. 10/10 location. Coffees and light breakfast to the room was a nice perk. I didn’t like that housekeeping was only available if you vacated before 11 am. As a result we didn’t have the room made up at all over the three nights we were there. The on-site restaurant has weird hours and seemed empty.
- Pamela225 (10/5): Second stay as good as the first - We stayed at Hotel Epik in the very same room we had on a trip to Montreal two years ago. While the furniture was more tired and worn this time around, the bed was just as comfy as our first trip. Staff could not be more pleasant. Location in Old Montreal is ideal. Even with the road torn up and in the midst of construction, we slept well (helped by a fan we brought with us, in case there had been noise from the street). Do yourself a favor and have a meal at the Wolf & Workman a few doors down.
- Leslie (9/5): Superb -
- Alexander EP (8/5): - Very pleasant
- Navjot (2/5): - Didnt look like in the picture
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (10/5): Perfect trip to Montreal, because of our stay in this hotel . - Loved the personell , every staff person , all shifts were helpful giving answers to our specific questions. Full restaurant , onsite, would have been nice option .
- Lance (8/5): For the price, this hotel is not competitive any longer compared to other hotels in the area! - Very nice location. Very attentive staff.
Great shower and comfy bed .
Very quiet. The main inconvenience is not the properties fault - as there is construction going on outside by the city, which they say will end 2026!
But the staff was wonderful in helping us get from the parking lot to our hotel.
The ‘free’ breakfast was not appropriate for such a supposedly good hotel. For instance: bad Coffee,
and the list goes on, let’s just say, etc.
Of course the room could use an update as well bathroom fixtures, etc.
- Paul (8/5): - Heavy construction is ongoing immediately in front of the hotel and the entire block which creates tremendous congestion around the hotel.
- Christian (10/5): - This was a beautiful hotel and perfect for a great get away. The staff was amazing and the room was beautiful and clean, perfect location as well.
- Weller (2/5): The hotel service was terrible and the road construction and access in outside was not acceptable. - The room was on the ground floor right beside the entrance. I felt the location of the room was an intrusion of my privacy. The there a back patio however the door to it was locked. and the worst was that I checked in and provided a security through my VISA and showed the attendant through my VISA account that the payment had been secured already I was refused entrance to my room for 15 to 20 minutes she did not recognize my proof. This has been the worst experience in any hotel service ever and that at $355 for a simple room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Kim (9/5): Quaint boutique hotel in Old Montreal - Well situated to be able to walk to shops, restaurants, the waterfront, events Right now there is construction happening right in front of the hotel and for blocks on both sides. The maze to get to the hotel is unfortunate. We found that exiting the hotel from the back door made it easier to set off for the day or order an uber ride. Due to this construction the hotel’s little restaurant/ bar is temporarily closed.
Breakfast was served in a box with a fresh croissant, apple, cheese and a fruit bar or seed mix. Fresh coffee, tea was available. Some protein such as yogurt or boiled eggs would have been preferable to the orange juice bottle. The staff were very helpful with advice, serving breakfast and carrying bags.
- Brett (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Surrounded by roadworks. Very noisy. No bar or restaurant. No elevator.
Left after one night. Moved to another hotel
- Suzanne (10/5): Lovely boutique hotel in good old town location - Lovely well designed room, given upgrade as hotel not full The breakfast was very basic, probably not worth the bother, would rather have the room a bit cheaper
