Staff are very friendly, helpful and generally seem happy to work here. Bar and pool area a great place to relax and enjoy. Food options at buffets are diverse and good quality. Dessert bar is huge. Would definitely stay again

All 3 of us have said it is the best massages we have ever had. Highly recommend taking time out for yourself and visiting these 3 exceptional staff members

• 620archieh (10/5): Ravidu is the best! - A truly special hotel with the kindest staff. One especially sweet waiter called Ravidu taught me and my group some Sri Lanka phrases. The hotel has a brilliant atmosphere with a lovely pool and restaurant; with it being in close proximity to the Yala national park, allowing for easy access to safaris and wildlife hunts. If you are in Yala, Chaarya resort is a must stay!

We arrived on evening, spent the morning in the hotel by the pool and were the only users (hotel provided towels). Outside bar open until midnight and AC in the room was v necessary and brilliant. Food included local and European dishes and we all good as we ate both. Been to a few places in SL and around the world and would return. A little spot of paradise and ideally located close to Yala National Park

• chethak2017 (2/5): Never upgrade to Chaarya Lake if you make a reservation to Chaarya Resort & Spa - I was a frequent guest to Chaarya Resort and Spa (3 times before) whenever I visit Katharagama. This time they called and said they would like to upgrade us to Chaarya Lake. It was actually a downgrade and a disappointment. Service was bad, food was below par, and the room was surprisingly very small with insects. I have been returning to same place frequently due to their impressive service but utterly disappointed this time and not so sure will return again

• wendyhO9056ZC (8/5): Split level rooms, asking for an Accident? - We stayed here for 2 nights on a Riviera Tour, the rooms are located in small blocks & are split level so you really do need to be careful & our ground floor room we did feel a bit overlooked so the curtains had to stay closed all of the time as we were near the bar which I would say was quite noisy as was the restaurant which is to small, not a lot of space. The pool area is also very small & we found that due to the grass being watered around the sun loungers it was very muddy. You will find lots of groups having wedding photo's taken in the grounds.

Slack hotel - Not everything goes to plan on a vacation but great hotels sort matters out to guests satisfaction whilst poor ones don’t, and Chaarya clearly falls into the latter category They lost an expensive set of riding gear in their washing service which severely impacted the remainder of our cycling trip After many excuses they offered an insulting compensation which was rejected and they then stuck their head in the sand Notwithstanding spending 3 nights here our room wasn’t serviced and I could go on….. Until guests stop going here sack hotels like Chaarya will treat guests with disrespect so if you want a. Stress free holiday don’t stay there There are lots of wonderful hotels in SL, just not Chaarya

• Write2Eye4Travel (10/5): Simply superb - One of our favourite hotels whilst in Sri Lanka, due to its atmosphere, staff, great food and comfort. Great comfortable rooms and beds with lovely lay-out and facilities including a huge bathroom with bath and shower + fluffy towels. The rooms are in blocks, ours accessible by stairs only. (on check-out, some people may need the hotel's staff to assist with carrying their cases down). The pool was lovely albeit on the smaller side. The food was of excellent quality, and a lovely atmosphere within the dining room. The separate open bar also a lovely retreat. The staff were incredible here, friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble.

From the very begining of the stay they have allocated us a very clean & comfortable triple room inclusive of all basic facilities. During the meal times also they greeted & privided us a friendly service even prior to our requests.We had delicious meals througout our stay in the hotel. Both internal & external enviornments & facilities were at high standard level. All the staff are very commited to their works assigned to them and the security guard also well understood about the parking arrangements and security to our vehicles. I recommend this hotel should be reached to next star level as soon as possible.
• 940wendej (10/5): Wonderful place to relax - I can't say enough good things about the service at this hotel- every member of the staff makes you feel welcome and they're only too happy to try and accommodate any needs. The hotel Manager Mr Norman De Jonk was especially kind and helpful. On our 2nd day he personally negotiated with our Tuk- Tuk driver to make sure our excursion to the local temple would be easy for us. When I had a crucial 2 hour work session to run online, he went out of his way to make sure I had the best Internet connection possible. We had a lovely stay and the 2 safaris we went on were memorable!

The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The buffet offered a good variety, and the food was delicious. Our foremost purpose when checking into any hotel is to make sure our baby can eat properly. Sometimes it’s difficult as she doesn’t eat at regular times, so we often have to make special arrangements. But here, Mr. Lakmal from the Food & Beverage section was extremely kind — he arranged food for us to take to the room, which made us very happy and comfortable. He really took care of us during meal times. Also, the General Manager was very friendly and personally came to ask for our feedback. Even though it’s a busy five-star hotel, every member of the staff was polite, smiling, and greeted us warmly whenever they saw us. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and we’re truly happy to recommend Chaarya Resort and Spa to anyone visiting Tissamaharama. 🌿✨

I had a wonderful Swedish massage and milk scrub with Asiri. He was a very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend him and would love to visit again.

The hotel was perfect with a refreshing clean pool, spacious rooms, great food and the most helpful staff. All staff were friendly but especially Magic Ben who cooked Mongolian rice at dinner, then omelette at breakfast. He had great banter, magic tricks and made our experience even better. Shout out to Magic Ben!

• Amit (4/5): Een OK verblijf maar niet voor herhaling vatbaar - Personeel was aardig en behulpzaam. Helaas vanwege de insecten in de kamer hebben we eerder moeten uitchecken. Ik vond het heel vervelend dat er overal insecten waren. Ik snap dat het een resort is, maar ook in de kamer waren deze er in overvloed. Het personeel heeft wel geholpen met het plaatsen van baddoeken bij de deur, maar dit mocht niet baten.

Unico lato negativo: dopo la prima doccia abbiamo dovuto attendere circa 15 minuti prima che tornasse l'acqua calda.

The room was very spacious, even with an extra bed and our multiple luggage and aesthetically decorated. Loved their overall arrangements, facilities, and ambiance. Food quality is also very good. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Great place to stay in Yala.

Room was good apart from step that ran through bedroom and bathroom which you would forget about and trip over in the dark. It was nice that it had a bath but unfortunately there were ants around the taps so gave it a miss. Pool looked fine but wasn't struck on music being played there constantly. Very good gym with wide range of equipment Great to have a pool table, shame about only 1 cue. Bar looked nice Restaurant was small and had limited selection of foods but was ok Staff were super friendly and helpful
