Guest Reviews
- Irene (10/5): Furnished Toronto Dream Stay - Great Roku TV channels made visit especially good. Also kitchenette was handy..clean fridge, bathroom, kitchen cupboards. Stove could have been cleaner. Only giant pots for cooking..I bought cheap frying pan & baking dish..walls very sound proof!Free Wifi was a big plus too!Park & plenty of shopping nearby!
- Launcelot (10/5): moneys worth - check in after you leave a deposit credit card or cash. everything else is at your leisure, the area is safe regardless of the location, people walking around doesn't make an area unsafe. the apartment style air bnb is all that for the price , you receive a key fob , you have all amenities, including private bathroom you go around Canada most places have shared bathroom, trust me I traveled and I'm from Philadelphia and frequent Toronto , when in Toronto I book with Toronto furnished living they have multiple units all over the GTA. area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easy access to the city. Very quiet. Safe..........
- Launcelot (10/5): - Easy to check in very respectful have multiple properties very safe.
- Kayla (10/5): Pleasant Stay - Overall it was a good stay, the place is clean and quiet, comfortable and affordable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - What I liked about the property that it was a fully furnished studio by all means.
Worst things were
*NO heat
*No cleanliness
* Whole studio was as stinky as it is washed with Pet's urine
*
- Cristina (6/5): Mehh - You have to wait until somebody comes to the front desk if you’re getting there too early, I was scared in that neighborhood but nothing bad happened, as not all the rooms in that building are from the same owner or company you see weird people around. The place was not super clean.
- Jared (8/5): Toronto stay - Great location, very helpful and accommodating service.... room was decent size but a little worn out (chairs cushions stained, etc) and the hallway into the unit smelled awful due to other units elsewhere in building, but no smell in the unit itself.
- Tashi (6/5): T G - The location is great and good for people with budget travel
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Improvement in the inside look...aircondition too high to open..lamps no good
Got certain smell..it can be cleaner.....
- Launcelot (10/5): - Very easy to contact management, very polite, understanding, I had an early appointment they allowed me to put stuff in room, as I was on time for my meeting. Quiet halls, condo living feeling and safe.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was good. Very close to major public transit routes. For what I was looking for, a place to sleep, it was fine.
- UK (2/5): - It's a WORST to stay. The pictures posted ON EXPEDIA are entirely different from what the property looks like. The unit WHICH i STAYED AT had bed bugs and insects which bit me ON MY FACE when I was sleeping. I called ambulance at 4 AM and was rushed to nearby hospital. The doctor told that it was an insect/bug bite and gave me anti-histamine to reduce the pain and swelling/infection.
Guys, don't every stay at this property. ALL the units with TORONTO FURNISHED LIVING ARE IN BAD AND PATHETIC CONDITION. The staff is too bad to deal with. They won't respect you and will also give you used blankets if you ask for any extra.
- Jason (10/5): Great stay. Great management. - The management was very excellent and more than once was able to assist. I checked in late. And I needed help with the tv. They were willing and able to help very quickly. I highly recommend these guys. 100% satisfied.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A very nice and neat room, even include a kitchen and utensils, the central heating equipment works very well, probably the best choice in downtown since the price is much lower compare to others.
- Blake (10/5): - Property was great. I actually expected a lot less but it had everything and more. I really enjoyed my stay here and I:m looking into staying here again in the future
- Verified traveler (8/5): Price is reasonable for room (last min deal) - I couldn’t complain about the price, especially being a last minute deal. The room was a small jr studio if that makes sense. Room, double or queen bed, tv, shower/bathroom, fridge and hot plates. If was great for spending a quick night. It’s apartment style so no easy access like regular hotel, I was given a fob to get into the building. Comfortable and quiet stay.
- Ike (4/5): - Property is in downtown Toronto. Price is okay for the location. The heating was not working and communication was poor. Slept in my car on the first night at temperature negative 12. The room was changed to a smaller room the next day.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The apartment itself was comfortable and clean. The area/neighborhood that it’s in is quite unsafe, especially at night. I would not recommend this neighborhood if you are traveling alone or with young children.
Comfortable stay, though no toilet paper rolls, had to request them. Service was decent. Their are hidden charges, you really have to look for them on the Expedia webpage, they won’t show up unless you “dig deep.”
Overall comfortable stay inside the property.
- AKH (4/5): - I left 18th and will not rent that place again.
It talks for itself...
- Gary (6/5): - Convenient location. Near subway. Reasonable price
- Anthony (6/5): Stay - Lodging was fine but the neighborhood left much to be desired … felt unsafe just walking outside!
- Berto (6/5): Close to Allan Park, convenient location - Good place for an extended stay. The kitchen was clean and efficient. Some rooms are better than others. I was lucky, while my associate was not. I had opening windows, his room was smaller, dingy and no opening windows. One might wish to inspect the room before accepting it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t do it! - Shower water was not hot. No Front desk help. Extremely scary and dark garage for parking ( charges $15 per day too). Condo in an extremely ghetto area. Felt unsafe.
- CHelsea (8/5): Decent and clean; inexpensive and great location. - I picked this place because it came with a little kitchen/refrigerator area, was extremely inexpensive and in a great location since I am familiar with the Yonge Dundas Square area. It suited my needs fine. There are residents that live here, so you hear them at night or street stuff...it's not the Plaza hotel, and it's very basic and the hallways are older, need new carpet, etc. But the room itself was clean and simple. If you're looking for a place to crash that's very simple and cheap, plus in walking distance of trains and many great attractions, it's great.
- Verified traveler (2/5): 1 Star Hotel would be better - The first night, I had to clean the shower drain with a fork. The amount of hair that came out was literally enough to make me vomit. There were cockroaches, stained towels and sheets. If you are looking for a great place to stay on Halloween, this may be it. Just pack your flip flops for the floor and bring a washcloth.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good one - The room was good big bed clean and one place bed, we do not use the kitchen but we do't stay realy long. Parking underground 15 $ night is good all around toronto is approxiamtifly this price. Nothing bad to say
- Denise (2/5): Terrible - No battery in fire alarm, dirty, terrible area next to half way house/ drugs/ red light district
- Jacques (4/5): Wack!!!! - studio were too small not clean enough no Lobby except the staff were ok and no parkimg NoT Recommended .
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Inadequate facilities and health and safety issues
- Abel (6/5): - It is small and old, the location is well but it need to be renewed
- Jess (4/5): - The hotel floor smelt horrible when you hoped off the elevator. The room was a decent size with workable facilities, however it was not clean. There was dirty bandaids and used soap in the bathroom. Towels we old, thin and small. The bed was so hard and sheets were stained.
I asked for extra soaps etc and didn't get a response back from the staff until 2 days after, and they lied in their response.
This apartment is more a 1-2 star max.
- Kadie (4/5): Roaches will kill anyone's vibe - From the outside the room looked clean. The location was perfect, not far from the mall & etc. when we first got there we saw a baby roach in the bathroom, we killed it and didn't think anything of it. But as our weekend stay continued we kept seeing them, I got bit by a spider & some other weird bug in my sleep. It was not a comfortable stay, which was very unfortunate.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Good location; close to downtown - Don't expect hotel- style comforts because this apartment doesn't have them. However, if you're on a tight budget, it serves its purpose.
- Satish Kumar (10/5): Very pleasant stay - My stay was very pleasant. Hasan and Yordonas were very accomodating. The unit was clean and well furnished. The neighborhood is safe, I came back past midnight (walking) many times and did not feel unsafe. I would try to stay here again during my future trips to Toronto.
- john (10/5): vacation in toronto - friendly , helpfull, clean little studio , pretty decor close to the village easy transportaion in area
- Wayne (10/5): - Great location was near everything I needed. Manager for apartment was very helpful and ready to help me with anything I needed
- Olga (4/5): - There are additional charges $35 for arriving after 9 pm, and before 3 pm, which are not clearly stated when you book the accommodation.
The place is quiet, the location is close to the universities.
- Yaser (2/5): nice location unclean place - the location is very good Reception difficult to reach
poor clean room and kitchen utensils
- Olivia (2/5): hotels.com should not recommend this establishment - Area was terrible, it smelt of second hand smoke and the mould affected my husbands asthma. The area is filled with drug addicts. Sheets were dirty and appliances about 30 years old. I absolutely cannot believe hotel.com would allow such an establishment on their website.
- Pammy (2/5): Unsavory, Unsafe and Inscrupulous - False presentation of the hotel. The room I rented had no Internet, bathroom towels that were in extremely poor shape. The fridge is in front of the stove. To use it would have been a challenge. The manager asked if I was going to cook. Evidently not. The door did not have a safety lock. Many room doors had dents appearing as if banging had taken place. Unsavory and unsafe. I didn't stay there. I couldn't When I returned the key the next day the manager smirked when I explained why I rather take the lost of $574 than to stay at Toronto Furnishef Living. Unscrupulous.
- frainkir (8/5): very rude and ignorant staff - Furnished hell is the worst place I have ever been, very small and extremely cold rooms, noisy bed with old mattress, if you book that place make sure that you come with your own towel and pilow seriously,
TOWELs i can't believe how dirty and old they are,
,
- Frank (4/5): VERY DORM LIKE - The location was good. No toilet paper. COCKROACHES. No closed captioning on the TV. The stove dials were painted white so you could not use the stove. Hallways are dreadful. Bad neighborhood. Bed was unstable...box spring kept falling off supports.
- Russ (2/5): dirty - A small room, small bathroom, bed is too soft, foul odor in the building, saving grace was having my own full size fridge(4 feet from the bed). It's an old apt complex, some rooms used for short term rental, no front desk. Never again!
- Jason (6/5): Hard to review cause we actually didn't stay there - Room had plumbing issues and we were upgraded to a much more expensive apartment in a nearby building free of additional charges. Neighborhood was mostly quiet and average for a large city.
- Andrew (2/5): Unsatisfactory - The first worry was the notice in the lift saying all apartments would be fumigated for bedbugs and cockroaches the next week. The next was the filthy stained carpets in the hallway and the stench.
The building is an ugly concrete block in a quiet leafy suburban street.
The apartment itself was clean and freshly decorated, though so small the double bed was pushed against the wall and you have to climb on the bed to draw the curtains. The advertised memory foam mattress does not exist - instead it's a cheap mattress with springs poking you. There is no wardrobe to hang clothing.
The worst thing about the room is that a large window pane was removed to fit a small air conditioning unit. Instead of a new pane of glass, there is a great chunk of chipboard jammed in! This DIY contraption is not sealed so the wind will whistle it's way into the room - I wouldn't want to be there in winter.
2 tiny cakes of soap and 2 shampoo sachets were insufficient for a 4 night stay.
The room faced the rear of another building whose industrial size air conditioning units generated a 24 hour roar.
Advertised as 3 star accommodation, this deserves 0 or 1 at most. It may be cheap, but the issue here is about misrepresentation - it's not 3 star!

The apartment faced the rear of a building whose air cooling machinery was the source of a constant roar day and night.
To add to the unpleasantness, neighbours partying woke me nightly in the early hours: 1:30am, 5am, 4:30am. Being an ordinary residential block, there's no front desk to deal with such situations.
After receiving an email from a company rep saying I should let them know if they can help to improve my stay, I replied that 2 tiny cakes of soap and shampoo sachets was insufficient for a 4 night stay, but didn't get a response.
Advertised as 3 star accommodation, this is a rip-off.
- Tahuana (2/5): Terrible - First night I got something very different from what I had paid for.
Next day the manager told me I could move to a different unit, but they had problems with the sink (both in kitchen and bathroom) but they would fix that day. I move in at about 9 pm and the problem wasn't fixed. The next day I had to wait for the plumber. After a day or two I started having problems with small roaches... Never again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location is good but too small for one adult & 2 children.
The bed not confortable at all.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Would spend a litte more money somewhere else - So the room is tiny, maybe okay for one person, but no place to put a bag in. I had to store some clothes on top of the refrigerator, the bag was right by the bed and could not open the refrigerator until I moved it. On the other side of the bed there was a chair that was just taking up space so the other bag was in the way by the hallway. The showed is tiny and the shower head is so high one has to stand completely against the door to get some water on the face, forget it going anywhere else on the body. Had to ask for face and hand towels which came mismatched and stained. The mattress was the cheapest I have experiences. They gave only one key for the room although there were two of us. Said that they did not have the time to get another copy although the room was booked way in advance. In face I tried to cancel the reservation within an hour of booking it but they would not allow that. I can see why, it is the only way they can force people to stay. The other guests next to use did not like their apartment either. The long term tenants that hang outside are nice and have said that they often have to help the guests because they are stranded outside. maybe for one person for a night or two it would be okay to save some money but more people or nights than that, spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere that is a little more relaxing and enjoyable.
- senior, female (2/5): In a very uncomfortable neighborhood, poor faculti - Very scared, very uncomfortable, air condition didn't work, toilet didn't work, shower didn't work. very muggy, very little curtains to windows, had to move, couldn't take the circumstances, very scared, very hot in room, i became very nervous and full of anxiety, wanted my money back but only got 50% of remaining days left which i found other accommodation and had to pay an extra 500.00 for remaining day after paying full amount for place on Pembroke that i had to leave,, very disappointing trip and feel i deserve my money back from Toronto home furnishings as couldn't get Expedia at new place, comfort inn which was acceptable and their rates were 170.00 a night at seniors rate,, i really had a traumatic experience
- Verified traveler (8/5): Short-term furnished studio apartment - This is an efficient short-term studio unit rental in a high-rise building. It comes with basic furnishings and amenities.
It is not a full-service hotel, but more like a short-term sublease. For this purpose, I am very happy with the accommodation. The location is not too far from Dundas street car (2 min walk from nearest stop), which makes it easy to commute to anywhere in downtown or along the TTC. It is not in the fanciest part of downtown Toronto, but the Maple Leafs Gardens (now a Loblaws grocery store) is about 5 minutes walk away. It met the needs for a short term business trip on a budget.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Location, Great Manager, Great Value!! - Fantastic apt and great service from Hasan & one of his other managers. Despite other reviewers comments, I did not see a single roach nor gang member during my 6-day/5-night stay but perhaps this was because during the middle of an exceptionally freezing February?
Great location as well, just half a block from the trolley & less than 3-4 blocks from the TTC subway. FYI there is no daily room service as this is a short/long-term apartment but to me the service was phenomenal anyway because I had a very late flight both arriving in & leaving Toronto......Hasan not only checked me in very late (i.e. around midnight), IN PERSON, but also let me check out late as well.
Would definitely stay here again and I certainly recommend it to others.
- Rose (6/5): Very please with my stay - Mine main purpose for staying at Toronto Furnished Living was location and price. With an extremely tight budget the price point of Toronto Furnished Living allowed me to stretch my budget, arriving a day early and leaving the day after my course ended. The location was only a 15 minute walk to the corner of Dundas and Young, so for someone who is used to a 1 hour commute to work, a 15 min walk drinking my morning coffee was pure luxury.
The facility is self service, rooms are furnished very basic however the kitchen did contain appliances and all the dishes I needed for cooking my own meals. Staff were very welcoming and attentive (easy to contact through email/phone). The room was clean and tidy, meeting my expectations. I would certainly book again with Toronto Furnished Living.
- benji (2/5): gross, dirty and unsafe - so sad and my biggest disappointment. the place is so gross, the room, carpet and elevator smells so bad, there are powder freshener all over the place from elevator to hallways. this place is so dirty. my biggest mistake is i booked for 7days but when i saw the place and the room it was then I realized that i'm not safei so in total i only stay for less than an hour. the manager is rude, unhelpful and not professional. this is a bad experience! next time don't just really on the photos in the website. i should have read the review first and believe on it. I hope and wish that there are no more people who will experience the same! saddly i lost a lot of money, i only stayed an hour or less but Toronto Furnished Living didn't want to refund my 7days pre payment. Bad experience and stressful... I'm so disappointed and unhappy Expedia!
- Exior (6/5): Nice Stay - I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was clean and it was very quiet on the floor I was on. I was there for some construction work and was out most of the day for work. Only thing was water pressure was low but that is sometimes expected in a apartment complex. It was a good stay and I will be back.
- ayo (2/5): bad place - Hire a new manager : hire someone that has passion for the job , someone with good customer service skills.
The current Manager Hassan will ruin your business
Invest in this properly because it is in a very bad state
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for a short stay - Went to Toronto for a 3-day conference held in The Westin Harbour Castle, which is about 30-40 minutes walking distance from this apartment - strategic location with easy access to convenient stores, POUTINE, and other restaurants at a pretty good price. However, the Wi-Fi in the apartment was terribly bad (even though 3 networks are provided). Very unstable connection and could not even send an e-mail or a text in Whatsapp/Line/Wechat.
- Gary (8/5): nice location on side street - It's not a hotel, but an apartment house, and one could say that the room had more anemities than a hotel like stove, and large refrigerator. If your walking to see the sites, then it's about a 1/4 mile walk up to Dundas train station and all the big shopping areas. It's not a very short walk nor is it a very long walk either but have to be in shape.
I stayed in December, so I recommended to the manager that the area by my window around the air conditioner be insulated since the room it got chilly at times when below freezing outside temperature (even with the heat on). It didn't bother me very much, but for other people it would.
Other than that, I would say that I was comfortable. There's no hotel "staff" on site, so I couldn't rate it.
- Poutaine (8/5): Interesting stay - The hotel is an apartment building that rents out the empty rooms so if you don't care about hotel extras, this is a nice fit for the price. The room was set up nicely. The only main issue I had was the rather spotty wifi which kicked in and out sporadically so it wasn't good for uploading major files or using Skype. The area was located close to the bus, trolleys and an ok walk from the subway.
- francois (6/5): great location - We had a bad luck when we arrived in Toronto, and we find this place at the last minute. They were really friendly. It's not a luxurious room but everything you need is available and really clean. And most of all, really good location 15min walking of downtown.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice accommodations and flexible staff - Toronto Furnished living is not really a hotel. There is no reception desk or lobby at the front. It is an APARTMENT building. Make sure to email the staff first, so they know when you are arriving and someone will be there to check you in. Otherwise, you will be stuck with your luggage outside the building and there will be no one to help you.
The building looks kind of dingy (a lot of the apartment doors are covered in scratches), as is the surrounding neighborhood overall, but there is a nice greenhouse nearby and Pembroke street has a lot of older houses that give it a classic feel.
The room I stayed in had everything I could have asked for. It was big and comfortable. There was even a microwave and a fridge. However, the walls were very thin and it was incredibly loud when people were outside my window and I could hear everything my neighbors were doing. Also, the door banged with the wind.
The staff was very nice and flexible. When I needed a late check out, they did not have a problem with it at all.
- Mike (4/5): - Room was not clean, especially the fridge and bathroom, had to ask for washcloths, bed extremely uncomfortable and noisy, a/c only reachable by a 6-footer, only one cardtable style chair, but building was quiet and close to downtown, taxi driver told us not to walk in area after dark, rating agency who recommended it told us it was a 3-star. Will not return!!!!!!!!
- Olumide (2/5): WORST apartment/hotel I ever rent! - It's horrible, uncomfortable and I'm totally dissatisfied. Both inside and outside of this building are terribly littered. hallway stinks like gabage. cockroach and bug all over the apartment. i wouldn't recommend this for no one.
save yourself the headache and book somewhere else.
- Mike (4/5): Disappointing - Hotels.com totally misrepresented the property. We were told the room was fully furnished, it had a double "bed"not a king, ( as was promised)a folding chair and coffee table, along with stove fridge and microwave, no coffee maker. The appliances were not clean, nor was the floor or area rug. Over all not a place I would recommend or return to. Very poor job, Hotels.com!
- W (8/5): Location is good and the room is clean/comfortable - I stayed in Toronto Furnished Living for a week for a seminar in downtown Toronto. Location was good (only a few blocks from Dundas/Yonge) and the room was clean and comfortable.
- Palminder (6/5): mediocre place - This place is cheap and close to yonge and dundas-good location.you pay for what you get, dont expect many amenities. we did not spend lot of time in room.this place is simple and plain -dont have high expectations and you will be ok
- MKG (4/5): Sure it is not a hotel but accommodation - I can say its good to stay ; if you are two people to stay, in a business trip, have a car, minimum five days staying. Bring your own towel. A large city down town's mixed neighbourhood, Cosmopolitan area .Close to shopping street and easy to find food places. I tried loblaw which provide superstore merchandise within various cooked food By reasonable price. Checking was midnight even a gentleman meet me by smiling face which was nice. If you scare bugs ! You might feel you are in an adventure :)
- Unknown (6/5): Close to downtown - Had a painful experience prior to my flight to Toronto. Received an email 03:00 London time to tell me that the booking I made in this hotel many weeks before has been cancelled. I was shifted to another hotel nearly an hour North of Toronto. It took 3 hours of international phone calls to finally sort it out. The manager finally got my room back
Don't recommend this hotel if you're with family as the room is too small for people to move around
- Dan (6/5): Does the Job. Don't have high expectations. - This review is an unbiased, factual desc. of my stay; not complaint or compliment*** This is NOT a traditional hotel but an apartment-hotel. I stayed in a bachelor apartment: 1 tubshower 1 dbl bed TV wifi kitchenette fridge stove oven microwave. Pics show a dbl sofa but we didn’t have one. Suite had AC, but not strong enough. ARRIVAL: No early check-in. Contact manager about check-in time and phone manager when you arrive as the lobby phone doesn't reach the mngmnt office when you dial the number.Need laundry/dryer service? Request a wash-card from the manager. This is an APARTMENT-style rental, you won’t have room service like a hotel. You'll have to wash your own towels if you want clean towels each day. Bring a hand towel for the sink. Check your toilet paper stock and pick up extra supplies from the Loblaws on Church St.. 2 people were staying in my suite and while we managed, it was a little cramped sleeping on a dbl bed so ensure you have ample room. 3 WiFi networks but all were unreliable. Management were very friendly. Area isn’t too bad. Only one gang-like incident. Close to major transit lines. Overall did the job. If you want HOTEL service, GET A HOTEL.
- George (6/5): - Hotel is very close to downtown and reasonable. It is an apartment rental so might not appeal to a family.
For a single as I am, it was ok.
- A. Helfrich (2/5): Good location; poor room conditions. - Property did not match listed description. Rooms did not have a dishwasher, some rooms did not have a full sized refrigerator, and some did not have air conditioning units installed. Rooms had visible dirt on the floor and carpet. Box springs were utilized for the beds (not proper mattresses). Multiple outlets were taped over with duct tape and there were random holes in the walls. Blinds were missing on some of the windows and most significantly cockroaches were present. The site had 3 different wireless networks; 2 were password protected that worked intermittently, the 3rd was not password protected and seemed to work the best of all 3.
- A. Helfrich (2/5): Buyer Beware...Cockroaches - Be aware that the property may not match listed description. The rooms did not have a dishwasher, some did not have a full sized refrigerator, and some did not have air conditioning units installed. The rooms had visible dirt on the floor and carpet.
- Hunter (2/5): Poor hotel staff - The hotel was cheap and cheerful.
There were no staff on duty throughout the stay. When trying to make contact with staff via mobile or internet and sends text messages with no reply. Emails to staff as they were never on duty at reception were sent emails with over 24 hours to get a response.
Hotel is in the middle of a rough neighbourhood so not child friendly.
Hotel room was not cleaned as there was a empty beer bottle under bed that remained under the bed throughout the 6 night stay. Bathroom mats were unkempt and bed linen stank of smoke upon our arrival.
- A. Helfrich (2/5): Buyer Beware...cockroaches. - I booked this apartment because it had a kitchen with a full sized refrigerator in the description listing and the location met our needs. I have experience with two of the apartments that they have on site (will call room #1 and room #2). #1 was a studio apartment with a mini fridge, which did not meet the description listing. #2 was the apartment which met the description listing (but did not have a dishwasher which had been listed); we were moved to #2 after vocalizing our dissatisfaction with #1 not meeting description listing. Both rooms had visible dirt on floor and carpet, both beds in each apartment were box springs (not mattresses), both had outlet holes taped over with duct tape and holes in the wall. #1 had missing blinds and the window A/C unit was not installed (they did retrieve a fan to use). #2 had cockroaches. The site had 3 different wireless networks; 2 are password protected that worked intermittently, the 3rd was not password protected and seemed to work the best of all 3.
