- Angie Mui Gek (6/5): - Property is a nice place. The service was very slow and bad. Checked in and was told there is a power failure, power will be up in 20mins and after an hour, power is not up yet. Checked in the room for stay with my sister, was only given one bath towel in the room. There is no amenity (shower gel n shampoo) TOP up on day 2. When we went to the pool and the beach, ask for pool/beach towel and was told they have run out of beach towel, ask for bathe towel instead and never arrive. Wifi was very weak despite there is the wifi box just outsides the room.
- James (8/5): - I had a great time. Most of the people there were very friendly. The food was good. The ocean was amazing to see. At night the ocean was crushing down so hard sometimes hard to sleep. But overall the resort and the site were good

- Haggdahl (6/5): Pay for a 4-star hotel and get a 3-star experience - This is definately not a luxury hotel so it would be unfair to compare it to that standard, but they do almost charge luxury rates, so I would expect the standard to be higher.
Let's start with the good things. Location location location. It can't get any better. It is brilliant if you can cope with the sound from the waves all night.
The things that can be improved: Condition of the rooms. They need a total make over. The TV barely showed to or three local channels but the reception was horrible. The buffé, although not bad, was definitely not one of the better I have had in Sri Lanka. The front desk was very helpful, and the rest of the staff were friendly albeit sometimes the service was very slow. WIFI coverage was both questionable as well as slow.
In Summary: Pay for a 4-star hotel and get a 3-star experience. The location though is to die for.

I've been to Sri Lanka before. The country is wonderful and its people are the best. This is in no way meant to reflect on Sri Lanka. I've really enjoyed my experiences here and I can't wait to go back.
The Long Beach Resort is one of 3 or 4 Koggala properties run by the same management. I've now stayed at 2 of these properties and they are both decidedly substandard. Each of these is a star less than listing. The rooms and their facilities are quite old, often grimy or dingy. There are few sad toiletries. Housekeeping is abysmal to the point where even after specifying requirements, sheets will not be cleaned, glasses replaced or water provided etc. If you need to work while traveling like I do, you're out of luck with their wifi, which has little bandwidth. Food is only available at this one hotel for any time between 9:30PM and 7:30AM. So if you are checking in late, or up and about otherwise, you may well be stuck without decent food or much water. What really threw me over the edge was the fact that a waiter and his manager had a tantrum about refilling our water bottles at this "resort." We wanted not to waste plastic or money. There are no water filters and one may not ask to be refilled, it seems.
We felt completely hustled. You will get much better quality for your money elsewhere.
- Christine (6/5): Great beach - Hotel service was not good but location is perfect, right on the beach. Hotel looks quite tired, probably in need of some renovations soon. Breakfast was not really good either.
- Chen (6/5): - The hotel has a great location but its facilities and services ruined it. The beach is amazingly beautiful, so you would have expected the hotel to at least be able to help arrange all types of activities for the beach and nearby locations, eg, whale watching etc. Of course they don't offer. Their restaurant also closes at a very early hour, so gives you very limited choices in the neighborhood.

- Vivek (10/5): Nice stay at long Beach hotel - Hotel is awesome and fit to budget. Although food not so good but I am not complaining about it. Location, staff, life guards are too good and caring.

There is a high desorganization in the reception, but at least they try to do your stay confortable.
Suggested to disconnect in a long resort, but the prices are not according to the facilities. European prices for Lankan services. The beer costs 500 SLR, almost the double than in the rest of the island.
The breakfast is perfect.
- Marlene (10/5): Great looking Hopeless service - The hotel is located on a great beach, the hotel itself is very well maintained and all facilities were great BUT the service had to have been the worst I have ever experienced. It took us over 1 hour to get our meal. We sat in the restaurant for 15 minutes we had to ask for menus, then when we ordered we had to repeat ourselves over the next 45 minutes of what we actually ordered. The service was absolutely hopeless. As we had no where to go late the next night we tried again this time 35 minutes to get a drink. We gave them our laundry in the morning and when we returned to our room at 11 pm that night no laundry returned. I called them they said it takes 2 days -in all the hotels around the world it get them back that night. They returned them to me the next morning at 6 am as I was leaving in the bag dirty -had not even taken them out of the bag! Hopeless hopeless service is all I can say dont bother even though it is a nice looking hotel on a good beach.
- Maurice (8/5): Lovely stay at the Long Beach! - We had a lovely stay in room 201 on the ground floor. The food was lovely with enough of a variety. No issues and would definately stay here again. The beach is safe for swimming if you know how the sea behaves.
