• Kyle (10/5): - Amazing hotel, restaurant and views. Every member of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. We had a sea facing room and even with the window wide open, it was a bit too warm even after having the window open for several hours and a fan to assist with the airflow.

• Synnøve (4/5): Skuffet da potensialet er stort. Med bedre vedlikehold og service vil det fort bli meget bra! - I utgangspunktet fint rom, men virker som at vedlikehold mangler. Nydelig utsikt fra rommet. Fin størrelse på rommet. Fin plassering av seng. Stort bad og dusjnisje. God eggerøre og brød til frokosten. Fint utvalg av te. Blinket i lyset på badet. Sluken i dusjen var tilnærmet tett. Ingen i resepsjonen så sent på kvelden. Hadde blitt lovet et fint rom, manglet solskjerming på dene av tre vinduer- tydelig at det tidligere har vært montert men tatt ned da festene fortsatt sto der. I nord-norge og lyst på natten var det en uheldig kombinasjon. Var også isolasjon stappet inn i ventilene over vinduene, spesielt. Tydelige tidligere vannskader på gulvet i hovedrommet. Deilig at det var rolig til frokosten, men tips til resorten er å legge lokk over pålegget slik at det slipper tørke ut i kantene.

God frokost Var veldig varmt på hotellrommet pga solen sto mot de store vinduene helt til kveld. Hjalp ikke med viften på rommet. Måtte ha åpen vindu og gangdør for gjennomlufting. Savnet kaffemaskin,da man ikke har løst å bruke vannkoker etter å ha hørt noen vasker truser i vannkokere på hotell.

Man erwartet mehr für dieses Preianiveau - + Wir bekamen die ein Upgrade + Einige Angestellte sind freundlich + Direkt am Fjord man kann die Nordlichter vom Balkon sehen - Unsere Unterkunft war bei Ankunft nicht beheizt und die Heizung hatte dazu Probleme - man schien sich für unser Problem nicht wirklich zu interessieren uns ich musste 3 mal persönlich beim Reception beschweren, bis etwas passiert ist. - Preis Leistung ist nicht ok viel zu teuer für schlechten Service - das Restaurant ist sehr ungemütlich, da es wenig Ambiente hat und steriles helles Licht. Qualität Ok Preis eher teuer

• Heinz (7/5): Aurora Borealis haben uns besucht, deshalb bleibt uns das Ressort in unvergesslicher Erinnerung! - Die Lage am Malangsfjord ist wunderschön. Das Ressort ist ruhig und schön gelegen. Die Qualität der Matratze ist eine Katastrophe. So weich, dass man fast See krank wurde. Schade!

• Jean Pierre (8/5): Es war sehr erholsam in einer traumhaften Kulisse - Die Lage war top. Mit dem Auto zu kommen ist an Vorteil. Die angegebene Tour für die Polarlichter war ein Flopp nicht weil man die nicht gesehen hat sondern für das was geboten war(Erklärung, Tipps zum Fotografieren), viel zu teuer.
• Arun India (7/5): Great view but facilities need upgrade - Location of the two bedroom apartment right on the sea with great views of sea and snow mountains. Got to see the Northern lights very nicely from the balcony in two nights. Staff was friendly too. No microwave which is clearly seen in the pictures on line. Also absence of freezer and toaster in the kitchen. The exhaust over the stove was loose and kept falling. Most annoying thing were the lights near the jacuzzi etc that were brought and lit up through it the night which is strange. Lights serve no purpose at midnight but spoil the Northern lights viewing which is one of the priority of guests coming here. Light in balcony was also on through our the night. Reception told me that it's automatically on at night and they can do nothing about it . Also frying pan missing in kitchen. On request, I was provided one. With such high cost and corporate style of management, these things are surprising. Rooms are smaller than what they look on line.
• Maria (7/5): Good value for the location and experience! - It's a good value for the experience. The space (kitchen, balcony with a view, 2 BR) on the water is pretty incredible for the price you pay. Staff wasn't particularly friendly. Activities were a little disorganized
• Thais (3/5): Malangen is a genuinely beautiful place with outstanding hospitality. But it is not a reliable activities destination. B - The resort is nice, beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere, and genuinely warm and attentive staff. If you are looking for a place to disconnect and enjoy the Arctic scenery, this is a good alternative. The complete lack of proactive communication about our main booked activity being cancelled. Our package included dog sledding, which had not been running for at least a week before our arrival. We were not informed until we were already on the transfer bus, where a staff member also told us that no dog sledding was available anywhere in Tromsø. That was not accurate. Another family at the resort found an operator in the city and completed the activity the day before we arrived. Upon arrival we were offered three alternatives: reindeer experience, Northern Lights, and the spa. Only one of those was a daytime outdoor activity related to why we were there. There was no snow activity offered as a genuine replacement. We accepted the reindeer experience because at that point we had no other option. We later found a public response from the resort to another guest describing the exact same problem: unclear communication, last-minute changes, activities not as described. That response already existed before our visit. Nothing had changed.

Les activités proposées sont beaucoup trop chères pour ce que c’est avec en première position l observation des aurores boréales. Véritable arnaque.

• Sandra N. (7/5): - Amazing view, really a beautiful place. Nice food. The Jacuzzi. I was very excited to participate in their winter activities. But it was a sequence of disappointments and communication mishaps that left me questioning the professionalism and courtesy of some members of the staff. The highlight of my trip and stay at Malangen was supposed to be dogsledding. Unfortunately, I received a mail explaining that there was a fire, and the activity was cancelled to protect the dogs. I completely understood and appreciated that the dogs health came first. However, I was left uncertain about what would happen next. There were no immediate alternatives or clear information provided. At my arrival, I tried to book a snowmobile tour for the next day as a replacement. Later in the day, I was told dogsledding might actually still happen at 1:30pm. Then, at noon of the dogsledding tour day, I was informed again that it might not go ahead. Throughout this process, I waited for the hotel to call me with updates or offer a replacement like the snowmobile tour at 4pm. After the first phone call, I was told to send a text, which I did, but no one responded. I called back at 1:50pm and was told to wait. Finally, after I complained at 3:50pm, they called me at 4pm to say I could join a snowmobile tour at 4:30pm. We ended up being the only participants on the snowmobile tour. It felt like the hotel just wanted to give me something to do, rather than provide the true experience described in their program. When I pointed out that the tour was not as advertised, they offered me a discount, but the price was still far too high for what it was. The tour itself consisted mostly of driving in circles in a small area, which was very disappointing. My experience left me feeling that the hotel lacked consideration, courtesy, and professionalism towards guests. And The absence of genuine courtesy made the situation worse.

Carlos was a fantastic fun guide for our 2 excursions Holiday home was way beneath standards for the price paid. Silicone coming off. A very poor shower in the ground floor, no bins in either bathrooms, broken bathtub. Heating was unbelievable for the cold outside. A few socket heaters spread, no underfloor. We were shocked with the quality for a price of 2,200 GBP for 4 nights without breakfast

• Darian (5/5): Incredible northern lights, fantastic staff but dated, expensive and unclean apartments. - I loved the staff, they were incredibly friendly, helpful and supportive. The activities were also fantastic and really enjoyable and the main selling point was that it was great to view the northern lights The apartment was dated, not worth the price and incredibly cramped. The sheets were not clean and the overall apartment needed a massive revamp. I also didn’t like there was no free activities you had to spend a lot to enjoy everything the resort has to offer and were still charged a resort fee

• Piedade (7/5): Alles war super bis auf die Rezeptionisten. - Die Lage und den Blick auf den See war sehr schön. Außerdem war unsere „Cabin“ gut ausgestattet und die „guides“ bei den Aktivitäten waren sehr freundlich und sympatisch. Das Personal in der Rezeption war ziemlich unhöflich und nicht gerade hilfbereit. Preis/Leistung Verhältnis war auch nicht unbedingt top… zum Beispiel war die Sauna defekt, was kein Problem ist aber man hätte anbieten können den hot tub dann wenigstens zum halben Preis zu benutzen. Auch fanden wir Schade, dass wir uns extra bei Malangen Resort loyal friends regestriert haben um bonus punkte zu erhalten und damit auch Rabatt und das hat auch nicht funktioniert.

Sono tante le attività organizzate dalla struttura. Ci tengo a sottolineare la gentilezza delle ragazze della reception e il personale del ristorante. Secondo me il materasso un po' troppo morbido

• Rena (10/5): Thanks to make our special experience! - フィヨルドに面したアパートメントに泊まりました。部屋は暖かく、景色はとても綺麗で最高でした。スーパーに行くのに、スーパーの方が200NOKで送迎をしてくださりました。とてもいい思い出になりました。犬ぞり体験とジャグジーを体験しました。犬ぞり体験は特に全員の方に体験していただきたいです。とても楽しかったです。オーロラもとても綺麗に見えました。運もあるかと思いますが、コテージ予約と比較すると、総じて色々なものが揃って、レセプションやジムもあるホテルの方が便利なのかなと思いました。受付の方もとても親切でした。とてもいい思い出ができました。 空港からの送迎時間が短く、飛行機が1日に一便しかないので行きはシャトルバスが使えず、タクシーを予約しました。。。とても高いので気をつけてください。シャトルバスも高いです。レンタカーをお勧めします。タクシーの場合は予約して向かわれるといいです！

It is very remote with few options for walking/activities beyond those offered by the hotel. The gym equipment is very old and in need of updating. Although staff were all friendly, no one that we spoke to had much local knowledge which was disappointing!

La possibilité de faire des activités depuis l'hôtel (car sans voiture il n'y a pas grand chose à faire l'hiver) Le sauna et le jacuzzi n'étaient pas fonctionnels. Nous n'avons pas été prévenu alors que cela faisait déjà plusieurs jours qu'ils ne marchaient pas. C'était l'une des raisons pour lesquelles nous avions réservé. Le sauna et le jacuzzi ayant la vue sur le fjord et les montagnes. Buffet petit déjeuner classique sans plus Il y a un billard et des fléchettes à disposition cependant l'équipement n'est pas entretenu, c'est vraiment dommage

• Petra (7/5): Location and room beautiful - the rest didn't meet our expectations - The location of the Hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious and nicely furnished - very cozy. We stayed over New Year. Hotel was full. Check-in was delayed by 1-2 hours and rooms not ready at the check-in time. When we arrived we were informed that the Sauna was broken and the dog-sledging cancelled due to too much snow - which left us with not much activities in the end. Breakfast in the morning felt like rush hour at Zurich Main Train Station. New-Year's dinner was expensive, food partially cold and it lasted for more than 3 hours.

Il faut pour le SPA réserver une heure à l’avance et payer 190 NOK par personne. Le petit déjeuner est très succinct Le dîner a l’hotel :Menu avec très peu de choix. Déçu par le rapport qualité prix.

Logística para chegar até o hotel, os horários do transfer são limitados, dificultando quem tem voo agendado em Tromso e valores altos.

• Gerald (9/5): Alles bestens, sehr zu empfehlen - Sehr schöne Anlage, wir waren im Haupthaus (Hotel) untergebracht. Zimmer schön gross, Aussicht hervorragend. Frühstück gut. Abendessen war auch sehr gut. Der einzige Minuspunkt ist, dass die Beleuchtung der am Wasser leigenden Saunaanlage die ganze Nacht leuchtet, was einerseits im Zimmer ein bisschen stört, aber vor allem beim Fotografieren der Nordlichter von der Anlage aus sehr störend ist. Für schöne Fotos muss man daher die Anlage verlassen, da die Lichtverschmutzung sehr gross ist.

• Stephen (5/5): Disappointing - Stunning position WARNING! Our Transfer from Tromso, booked with Malangan Resort, was supposed to pick us up from the Amalie Hotel. It seemingly left from BEHIND the Hotel without any such information being available so costing us about £250 for a 90 minute taxi ride. Despite producing a receipt for the taxi the manager has not had the grace to contact us with an apology (or refund!) A WEEK after the incident. The receptionist admitted that this was happening on a regular basis but nothing was being changed in the literature. I'm writing this to save YOU lots of money, BE CAREFUL. This is how they treat paying customers on their 2nd visit.

• Gonzalo (9/5): Amplio y cómodo para estadías largas. - La ubicación, esta frente al fiordo, nos quedamos 3 noches luego del 25 de diciembre, y en la última logramos ver la aurora boreal, El personal muy atento, no le pregunte em nlmbre pero hay un español muy buena onda y su esposa jna ucraniana, los dos trabajan en el resort, casi todos hablan español, el resort esta como a 1:20 de tromso y tiene amplio estacionamiento. El camino tromso-malangen esta en muy buenas condiciones y suelen pasar las maquinas q quiran nieve y hasta personal caminando verificando que nadie se haya quedado botado. Pero si te agarra una ventisca el camino dura hasta 2 horas. En áreas comunes tiene muelles, sala de juegos, bar. Hacia la montaña tiene albergue de renos husky y edificación típica sami, nosotros también habíamos hecho eso en rocaniemi así que no lo tomamos, pero estuvimos atentos porque siempre avisaban si por el nivel de la nieve se iba a llevar a cabo el trineo de perros. Nos quedamos en un departamento de 2 habitaciones, la sala comedor kitchenet bien equipada, horneamos pizza y usamos la vajilla la refri enfría Existe una bodega coop a 10 minutos al sur donde puedes comprar lo necesario para sobrevivir. En la entrada del departamento hay un ventilador caliente con mangueras para calentar el interior de los zapatos, muy bueno. La habitación también tenía terraza, palas de nieve, El último dia salíamos antes del desayuno y nos hicieron unas lancheros para llevar. Consejo, Si no logran ver auroras boreales a simple vista, usen una buena cámara de celular o fotos y estos aparatos tienen mejor lente y lograrán verlas. Los termostatos están un poco mal, tienes que poner a mas de 30° para poder sentir calor, la terma es individual por cada departamento y con el frío del agua, el agua caliente a lo mucho te dura 20 minutos. Algunas placas eléctricas de iluminación no funcionan bien. Me quedé 3 noches y no suelen limpiar ni arreglarte el cuarto, se que lo limpian a partir del 4 si tienes estadías mas largas,
• Nikki (6/5): - S I am writing to formally express my disappointment with our recent stay at Malangen Resort, which fell significantly short of our expectations, particularly given the high cost of the holiday. Unfortunately, due to insufficient snow conditions, many of the activities we had booked in advance were cancelled, including snowmobiling and husky sledding. This left us with very little to do during what was meant to be a full and engaging winter experience. The Reindeer Feeding activity was particularly disappointing. While we were charged 1,690 NOK per person, the experience felt extremely poor value for money. We were informed that this activity usually caters for 10–12 people; however, due to other cancellations, approximately 40 people were placed into one group. The activity felt badly organised, overcrowded, and completely overpriced for what was offered. The Arctic Spa was another major letdown. During our stay, the sauna was broken and the jacuzzi was only lukewarm. We attempted to use the spa on two separate occasions, but both times the facilities were not functioning properly. This was extremely frustrating, as the spa was a key factor in choosing the resort. Regarding the accommodation, while the cabins were clean, they were very basic and poorly maintained. Several lights were not working, and overall it was clear that routine checks were not being carried out. Given the premium price charged, I would expect all facilities and services to be fully operational. With so many activities cancelled, we asked staff for alternative suggestions, such as winter walks, to help pass the time. The only recommendation provided was the walk to Camp Nikka, which quickly became repetitive and did not offer the winter experience we had hoped for. Overall, this was an expensive week in which the only activity we managed to do was the reindeer feeding, which itself was disappointing. The trip did not deliver the winter delight or quality experi

• Emma (6/5): Mixed feelings - poor customer service in a beautiful location - The location is stunning! Food and restaurant staff was excellent. Snow shoeing activity was excellent with fabulous guides and beautiful location. Apartment itself was lovely, clean and good size. Kitchen worked well (staff quick to fix broken oven). Would recommend the apartments and bringing your own food. Would keep low expectations about the reception staff. Can't fault the restaurant staff. Customer service/front desk staff were bad. Poor/no communication skills when activities cancelled for bad weather. Obviously no controlling the weather but no alternatives considered. Told us we were not able to get wifi despite it being advertised, took 48hrs of arguing to get sorted. Don't bother with northern lights activity. If they are active you can see from accommodation. Guides didn't provide a briefing or any information about northern lights at all. Reindeer are gorgeous but bad crowd management meant people chased them. Not enough information about Sami culture, very token. Not quite clear how they have gotten a 4 star hotel rating.

• Nadia (8/5): - Great location and views by the fjord Loved the shuttle bus from Tromso - made it easy to reach Booked 2 bedroom apartment - was cozy and had large balcony which was perfect We booked room only by mistake and paid for breakfast at the resort and it was very expensive for the selection (AED 280 NOK pp). I d recommend to either book with breakfast or bring something for yourself
