Guest Reviews
- Atkins (5/5): -
- Goulding (6/5): good apart from shower - Comfy bed polite staff, nice breakfast shower head wouldn't stay in position so if you didnt hold it it would soak the floor, so could not have shower.
Room225
And been trying to contact hotel for days to get invoice and phone always goes to answerphone and the never ring back.
- Shirley (7/5): Rock hard pillows. - Excellent location; lovely building. Rock hard pillows. We complained on our first morning to the reception staff but no action was taken.
- Maria (10/5): - Had a lovely room excellent evening meal and breakfast
- Linda (7/5): Beautiful building - Beautiful hotel, the rooms are very dated and in need of refurbishment, staff are lovely. Breakfast fantastic 😋 Dated rooms
- David (9/5): - Location. Big suite. Good breakfast. Staff was fine but not as friendly as one would hope for. Restaurant Staff especially not very attentive. We ordered a chocolate dessert and they brought panacotta. When we brought it up, they didn't offer an apology or to correct it.
- Tracey (8/5): Excellent location and atmosphere - Hotel location, size, grandeur. Big bed, lots of space in the room, the cooked breakfast was amazing. Lovely staff. No blinds or other window coverings on the huge bathroom window. Glass was patterned, but not effective when the light is on. A group of men stood outside a bar opposite were whistling and shouting and it ended up I had to shower in the dark.
- Kevin (8/5): - Ideal for town and gardens. Free parking for blue badge holders. Breakfast and dinner great. Hot water pipe runs through the room which can't be turned off, which would probably cause room to be rather warm in a heatwave although windows can be opened and there is a hot cold fan provided.
- Stephen (8/5): A great looking hotel which will give you a good nights sleep and a great breakfast to start your da - Firstly great buffet breakfast with everything you would want, just really good quality food and choice.
The crown is a majest victorian hotel, which has been well maintained. We booked a small comfort room which had everything for our one night stay, including tea/ coffee etc
The bed was indeed comfortable and gave us a good nights sleep. Bearing in mind we had booked a comfort. room, the double bed was side on against a wall because the fixed wall mounted head board and.side table didn't allow the bed to be centered.
Being on the third floor the shower was ok but not overly powerful.

- Steve (8/5): -
- Jacqueline (9/5): - Ideal location, few minutes walk to bars, restaurants, very central. Spacious restaurant and lounge area. Clean, comfy room. Friendly staff. Busy breakfast restaurant, didn't like sight of uncleared tables at times, people waiting for set tables, had to ask for juice to be replenished.
- Richard (4/5): Noisy at night. - The staff were very helpful The noise! Wedding disco that was loud and ran after 11pm. We had to phone reception twice asking for noise to be reduced.
The floorboards above us were very noisy and it woke us up at 1.30pm it felt like a heard of elephants were above us and woke us up.
- Angela (10/5): - Room was big, clean and very comfortable. The hotel is close to all amenities in Harrogate.
- Jenny (7/5): fine but tired and expensive for what it was - nice old building tired and not very clean in the room
- Don (7/5): Centre of Harrogate, great location ! Whilst the hotel is a period hotel and feel the in-room facilities can be updated - Location Dated, tired, in room facilities basic

- Janette (7/5): - Lovely breakfast. Restaurant staff were exceptional. Booked a cosy double but realised it was just too "cosy" for two people. Asked for a room change, but got quite a bit of push-back about it. The room change did happen, but the process was difficult.

- Karen (9/5): - Locality
- Lyn (9/5): Perfect location in the heart of Harrogate with helpful staff. - Perfection location for a person with limited mobility to see the best of Harrogate. Parking very convenient and well managed but a bit expensive.
- Jay (5/5): This was my most disappointing stay at your hotel. - Reception helpful. Breakfast poor as neither hot plates or food. Why have you stopped serving black pudding. Television in room hopeless
as no channel information. I have just seen your last question I do not have a camera.
- Christine (6/5): Not happy with stay this time - Was unable to get disabled parking and room was accessed by stairs and I have mobility issues which weren’t considered when I rang the hotel or when I checked in
- Jacqui (8/5): -
- Martin Mabbott (10/5): - Great hotel £15 for parking
- Ray (10/5): This is our go to hotel when we stay in Harrogate. Easy location to drive to, car parking available on-site. Just love t - Beautiful hotel in a great location. Just a minor observation, it would have been good to be able to store water in a mini fridge.
- Victoria (3/5): Definitely not worth the money. - Bed was comfortable. Poor pillows
Plus in wrong place for hair drying and phones.
Noise from other room was awful. You can hear light switches, toilets and floor boards.
Quilt quality poor.
Hotel very tired.
- Lowes (8/5): -
- Steve (10/5): Relaxed, Comfortable and well looked after by the staff. - on our initial arrival we were welcomed by Josh who was very helpful and accommodating (nothing was too much trouble) Our room was well equipped and nice and quiet as we requested. Breakfast was very good and set us up for a days walking and exploring. Found that we had to let the hot tap run for about 10 minutes to get any hot water, when it did arrive it was piping hot.
- Andrew (8/5): Great location, nice staff. - Lovely building and great location. Bedroom decor a bit bland, mattress sagged into the middle a bit.
- Lowes (8/5): Nice place in Central Harrogate - Great Breakfast a few more stairs on floors not acccesible via the elevator

The staff were excellent and very welcoming
Food was excellent
- James (8/5): - Lovely location The rooms and the upstairs are looking tired 😫
- Ann (8/5): - Well when arrived our room allocation had steps to it when I had messaged and said my husband had a mobility scooter and could do steps so then we had to wait while another room was prepared wasn’t ideal for my husband to wait
- Roger (7/5): Enjoyable. - No fried eggs on the breakfast buffet display - we had to ask for one and wait for it to be cooked. The toilet seat had to be physically held up to remain open while having a pee! The floor boards were noisy and creaky.
- Hilary (9/5): -
- Liam (10/5): -
- andy (9/5): -
- Karen (8/5): -
- Howells (5/5): Poor stay at The Crown - The location, right in the middle of Harrogate Town, perfect for shopping. The room, the bed was right up a wall, meaning I had to shuffle out in the night as I have arthritis in my knee, so made it difficult.
The window was filthy.
The room was very small for the money paid. Only 2 packs of very small broken biscuits with the small selection of coffee, tea. No hot chocolate.
The breakfast, this was very disappointing, the bacon and sausage looked uncooked, I took one look, put my plate down and went to the pastries. Which the Pain au Chocolate looked over cooked, but did taste ok. But I'd paid for breakfast in my room choice!! The toast machine either made it pale or extra burnt if going through twice.
Not a high quality hotel, more like a budget hotel.
My Daughter paid less at a hotel close by and her room and food were so much better.
Rooms, dining room needs updating, could be so much better.
- Walker (10/5): -
- diane (9/5): - Excellent location. Breakfast very good choice and quality. Staff very friendly but especially Antony from the bar. Made us so welcome with our little dog and was so friendly Had to run Shower for a while before it got hot. Room.s are a bit tired but didnt affect our stay. Would definitely come again
- Joanna (8/5): Location was so good our room was so lovely - We had a suite it was very good & so clean The breakfast room was complete carnage no staff to tell us where to sit or what we was doing or what they was doing & there was no food at all at 9.30 no cups for teas & coffee
- Jarl (7/5): Sentralt i Harrogate - Beliggenheten Noe slitt
- Malachy (1/5): -
- Sean (10/5): Great location old classic hotel with plenty of mileage left in her … - It’s very old but well maintained
