• CatAK (7/5): Good stay for the area - Friendly staff, nice restaurant, good location for most of the sights in the area. Very comfortable beds. Unfortunately, they don't have enough rooms with a true seating area so we settled for a triple room that at least gave us a third bed for spreading out our travel gear. There is an odd floor level change down from the bedroom into the bathroom that is about 3cm high -- a perfect tripping hazard. Even once aware of it, we stumbled over it several times. The shower is tiny with a curtain on one side that wraps around you as you try to wash. These are not service issues, they are design issues.

• E8255ILemmas (8/5): Location, location, location - Best thing about this hotel are the views. Large bedroom windows give a panorama of the fjord. But views of mountain aren't bad really if at the back of the hotel. Otherwise a step down from the Fosshotel we stayed in at Hellnar. Food wasn't as good, service a bit poorer. One breakfast we didn't see any staff despite several of basic breakfast items running out. Rooms are bigger but not as well laid out and the shower is so small you get wrapped in the shower curtain! But these are small things really. Location wins and would recommend. Saw the most stunning sunset!

The bedroom was very small (nowhere to put your suitcase) and the bathroom had nowhere such as a shelf to put anything. The shower which could easily have had a proper surround had a horrible curtain.

Breakfast was available and needed to be purchased, but we were still able to get complimentary coffee and tea in the morning. Our room needed a longer shower curtain to stop the water from running all over the bathroom. A very simple fix, but we needed to keep sopping the water up with towels.

I didn't pay for the breakfast because it was ridiculously expensive for what is offered, so don't know if it is good. Overall, a nice hotel in a lovely town.

• EmeraldDiva (8/5): Convenient and comfortable - We stayed 2 nights in the Junior Suite which had a cute little sitting room and we enjoyed the extra space. The room was good, very comfortable and clean. The only issue was water escaping all over the bathroom after a shower. The staff were friendly and helpful, parking was easy. The breakfast buffet was not huge, but had some good healthy choices and lovely fresh bread each morning. It is a friendly, comfy place to stay.
• Lori (10/5): Fantastic hotel, my shower gripe is (mostly) inconsequential. - Great location, superb staff. The front desk hostess went out of her way to help us with dinner reservations, advice on goi g to see the puffins, and even found a space heater for us to use when our radiator didn’t work. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. One point off for the shower. It is tiny, with a wand that you could not adjust above chest height, a rain shower fixture, and a tiny, tiny stall with a curtain. If you don’t want to get your hair wet, you either huddle in the corner, use the wand and try not to spray the whole bathroom (admittedly a USA newbie with these) or get close to the curtain which then plasters against your wet skin. Boo to whoever designed this shower!

It would wrap itself around you while you were trying to shower. Even the staff at the front desk said it was an issue. Tried to get a 2nd floor room as our room was right in front of the parking lot. We were told there was no availability but when looking on line late into the evening there were still rooms to let.

The dinner was way overpriced for a small portion of mediocre quality. Go for dinner to another place in town (there is a good one).

• fmb2409 (4/5): A disaster! - Tiny rooms - o.k at least with a great view BUT dirty in all areas - not only the bathroom full of hairs but also the whole room and dustballs. Dinner really desastrous - bad service, not one good dish and expensive (for example: The green salad - some leaves of green salad and ruccola, 8 slices of cucumber and 3 halfenend mini-tomatoes at a price of 20 €!!!!).

You can prepare a cup of coffee or tea in the room, which is a nice addition. Enough storing space as well! The bathroom is large, with enough light. Plenty of towels, and best measurements of the towels 👌 We stayed at Fosshotel 3 years ago and mentioned some things to maybe be altered. The main thing is that the shower curtain is really a frustrating thing, It makes the shower so small 🙁 Also you really have to watch your steps, going into the bathroom. There is a little edge which you can easily hurt yourself. Especially during night time when not fully awake 🫣

• elizabethfE25FG (10/5): Fosshotel Westfjords is in the small fishing village of Patrr,eksfjörður - Fosshotel Westfjords is in the small fishing village of Patrr,eksfjörður which acts as a gateway to some of Iceland’s greatest attractions. Bird-watching (including puffins, northern gannets, guillemots and razorbills), hiking, or photography are just some of the excellent pastimes that the Westfjords set a stunning backdrop for in the area. There is no shortage of breathtaking landscapes in the Icelandic Westfjords. The winding roads to the area, as well as, in the are a bit challenging at times especially with bad weather. Our plan was to stay there 3 nights but due to snow , sleet and hail we did stay a 4th night. I must say that they had an excellent team managing the hotel and better than I have ever met in my travels. The staff that greeted you at the front desk were Annie and Dora. I also want to share that Sam, and Hubert provided excellent customer service as well. They were professional and provided us with great tips for our daily travels They were kind , funny and full of great ideas for us as we spent time in the Westfjords. I want to thank them all for making our vacation special at the Foss Hotel.

I had a particularly great experience with the staff at this hotel. I forgot something in my room and the staff went above and beyond to help get it back to me. The Westfjords are gorgeous and if I come back I would happily stay here again.

Situated in a small town, there are not many choices for accommodations or food, and after looking around, I believe this is the nicest in the area. Our room was well appointed and clean, and the restaurant had great food. A great choice if you are traveling through the West Fjords.

• SueBirk (8/5): A terrific stay in the Westfjords - My husband and I traveled the Ring road, but we wanted to see the Westfjords, too, so took a detour. We are so glad that we did! And this hotel really was a perfect place to go at the end of the day. Our windows faced the fjord and you just cannot beat this view. The room was comfortable and roomy. Our bed was comfortable and the shower nice and hot! We had the breakfast, which was good, but nothing too splashy. I was hoping for porridge, but settled for cold muesli. I think it is geared for the Icelandic palate rather than mine, so that is fair. We didn't eat here for dinner, but tried a local restaurant (the only one in town, I think) that I can also recommend: Stúkuhúsið. It's a small place with fresh soups, main dishes, and baked goods. Probably the best meal we had in Iceland. For some warm comfort and a nice rest, I recommend this Fosshotel.
• Kimberly (6/5): Comfortable enough, but low value for the money. - The breakfast was very good and had nice options. The toilet in our room was not secured well to the wall and I was concerned how much it moved when sat on. I didn’t like that there was no hand soap so you had to wash your hands with overly fragrant body wash or shampoo. The dinner was very expensive and not very good for the price (other Foss hotels had gourmet quality meals at better prices).
• wtkorn (10/5): Fantastic on the Fjord - In a country where the best hotels are barebones compared to US and European standards, this one stands out. It's not a five star hotel by normal standards but it is modern, clean, and comfortable. My room had a firm mattress, comfy comforters and good pillows, nice furnishings, and a gorgeous view of the fjord. The restaurant dinner was excellent. We had an included breakfast which was tasty though not creative or varied. I would stay here again any time.

The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good. The breakfast is not included, but was well worth it. The local swimming pool and gym was a nice thing to do since it was raining.

The best part of our stay was the Northern Lights! They were visible from a nice dark viewing hill behind the hotel.

• reedmangreg (10/5): Fosshotel in Westfjords - We stayed here 1 night while moving through the Westfjords - we headed west/south "out of" Westfjords so the location was perfect to sleep over night as then it allows you plenty of time the next day to drive through the regional attractions (Latrabjarg, Raudisandur Beach, Gardar BA 64) before heading back on the road to continue the journey eastwards/south to get back on the Ring Road/Road 1. The hotel is I believe 40 rooms but it feels much smaller, more intimate that it 40 rooms sound like - we had previously stayed at Fosshotel Husavik which felt much much bigger than Westfjords, so we felt much more cozy here in a smaller "version" :) The hotel is literally on the waterfront so you have really nice views of the cliffs/water/sunset - had we had more energy I would love to wander along the shoreline in the evening and check out more of the area, but we didnt as our batteries were super low drained towards the end of this trip - the peaceful quality sleep in the room thus came very handy - both Fosshotel in Husavik and here in Westfjords were no noise and great sleep - very much appreciated! Food at breakfast was tasty and enough savory and sweet options for everyone, an espresso machine came handy as well :) There are restaurants and bakery in walking distance, and an N1 gas station to refuel before heading out on the road - a very convenient location on the road while exploring Westfjords.
• Leslie (10/5): This was a wonderful hotel that sits on the waterfront. I would not hesitate to stay again. Amazing! - The room was welcoming and large and very quiet. The beds were very comfortable. We ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. The breakfast buffet had ample choices and were delicious. The dinner was exceptional. Both meals were very affordable. Everything was very pleasing.
• Cindy (10/5): Excellent place to stay. Clean room and great breakfast. - The room was really clean and the shower was roomy. Bed was so comfortable. Had a fridge which is a nice bonus on a road trip with perishable items. The breakfast buffet in the morning was great....it had all the things. The staff at the front desk were sincerely friendly and helpful. I made a reservation at the restaurant for Aug 28 but was told on arrival it was closed. I thought it would be courteous to let me know since there was only one other restaurant open in town that day. (On the other hand, we discovered Stúkuhúsið cafe, which is much more than a cafe and full of charming old character....had the best oven-baked pistachio crusted cod dinner with a nice glass of white wine there.)
