Guest Reviews
- Megan (10/5): - The hosts were so lovely and accommodating! Our first time in France and while we only stayed at the hotel two nights, it was perfect for a short stay, we felt safe, and really liked how close it was to lots of restaurants, shopping and the Seine. We would definitely stay here again!
- Prarthana (8/5): - Stay was comfortable. Room size was small.
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Hotel was in a great location, all the staff and the owner were incredibly helpful and welcoming.
- Karen (10/5): - Our room was perfect. Beds very comfortable. Plenty of shops and AC.
- Jose (8/5): - Lovely hotel. Not fancy but clean, comfortable, and a perfect location. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and
- eliana (4/5): - The room super small, only one little bottle of shampoo and 1 shower gel for 2 people, we asked for the iron and you need to returned right away just in case someone else needs it
The AC is a joke , they can control it from the lobby and if you leave it on they turn it off and you are not able to controled from your room anymore..
- Helen (10/5): - Our hotel is clean, comfortable, great location, and the staff especially Zied is most attentive and helpful with any and all questions or concerns!
- Ed (10/5): - The hotel was very comfortable, and staff were very friendly. The location was brilliant, right in the middle of the LGBT quarter and short walk from the Seine.
- Mustafizur (8/5): - The lack of shower curtain turns the bathroom into a wet room which is annoying for the next person. There are lakeshores of convenient charging sockets.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
- Lynn (10/5): - Such a nice little hotel in a great area! The room is very basic (like a lot of France), but comfortable. Super area to stay. Close to main tourist attractions and great neighborhood for shopping and cafe’s. The staff was SO helpful!!
- Kely (10/5): - Great staff. Very boutique hotel. Felt like and old school bed and breakfast )we didn’t do breakfast because there was so much in the neighborhood).
Liver the whole experience.
- Rosemary (10/5): - The hotel was in a great location and the staff were so friendly. I would highly recommend this location. Great value review.
- Charlotte (10/5): - Great location, comfy beds, good air con! Everyone we met on reception was so lovely
- Phillip (10/5): - Very lovely hotel in the heart of the Marais
- Saifullah (8/5): - Was okay
- Carolina (6/5): - out dated, the shower was a mess, not cleaned enough
- Nini johanna (10/5): - I lost my phone and the staff were so so so helpful in translating so I could get it back. Amazing service and location
- Daniel (10/5): - One night stay, great service from staff, room was clean and comfortable. Location was convientent, close to good restaurants and bars.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Friendly staff in prime location in the Marais. Surrounded by several wonderful cafes and shops. Just a short walk to metro station made it easy to get all around Paris.
- Jacquie (6/5): Basic and too much money for what we got. - Very poor room, basic - very small and airless. No view - top floor. Bathroom was terrible -tiles waiting to be grouted in. No shower curtain. Black mould in corner of bath area. Toilet paper holder broken. Towels OK but one day we didn't have any and I had to get dressed again and go down in lift as they had not told us how to ring reception. Tried to move rooms but they said not possible. Response to our complaint was that 'Hotels.com make more money than us' and we were shown the evidence. The hotel was attractive but reception was small and crowded with bikes and delivery of new table. The good thing about the hotel was convenience for the Marais area and some recommendations to local places to eat.
- Robin (10/5): - The customer service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in the in center of the city.
- David (10/5): L - Small hotel, perfect for a short stay in Paris. Catering - only breakfast but the local area has a surfeit of restaurants
- Samuel (10/5): - Excellent location.
- Norma (10/5): - location is great and the service, room and staff outstanding. loved staying here. thank you!
- Olga (6/5): - The Hotel has no refregerator in the room. They took away food that we bought with out our permition. Not greate place to stay.
- Robert (10/5): - Very polite and competent staff. Decent sized room for the price and comfortable and clean. Great air conditioning!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfy and Convenient! - Small space, but comfortable and conveniently located! Would recommend for a single traveler or couple. Best for a short stay!
- Luiza (8/5): - I liked the fact that it is a small hotel well located in Marais.
- Susan (8/5): - A clean, comfortable room in an ideal location for us! Very quiet too, considering it was in Le Marais! Friendly, helpful staff; we’ll definitely be returning!
- Laura (10/5): - I liked the staff, the beds, the breakfast, the elevator. Everything was clean and appealing. I had a nice street view and a shower curtain. Other rooms did not offer a shower curtain.
- Ellen (10/5): - Love the location, staff very helpful, will return!
- Osman (8/5): - We love the area very convenient xxx
- Horatio (2/5): - First we got to the hotel and had the most unusual rules, how we weren’t allowed to eat or drink in the room we paid for, they will
Literally asked you what’s in your bag so we had to sleep thirsty. Secondly, they asked for the keys every time u step out the front door. The older lady/ owner went in the room to check behind us when we went out. Very creepy the pressing iron we asked for was gone alone with the board. They complained about towels being used n why they were dirty n why we had them on the floor. Felt uncomfortable/ unsafe staying here. They were friendly but definitely had a motive. Ps.. place was clean but u can see it definitely run down.
- Consejo (10/5): - Quiet and practical location for anyone learning Paris for the first time or frequent visitor. There is always a front desk staff person manning the desk. Also very kind in holding our luggage until time for our departure. Thank you!
- Tom (10/5): - Great location - close to cafes, in a high energy, active part of Paris, ten minute walk to the Seine, ten minute walk to Notre Dame. Located on a quiet street so very little noise at night. Very courteous, helpful staff. Marie, the manager of the hotel, was great and helped us with some dinner reservations. I stayed in two different rooms and both were clean and comfortable. The fourth floor has a balcony you can walk out onto.
- Amanda (8/5): - Very small, typical Parisian hotel. Staff was excellent, helpful and accommodating. Room and beds were clean. Bathroom was older and needed some updating (mould on caulking, cutout hole on ceiling that hadn’t been repaired). Temperature not controllable in room. No coffee option in room/lobby.
- Peter (10/5): - A charming little hotel in the heart of the Marais. Tiny room but great bathroom with a wonderful shower. The housekeeping staff was super. Spotless every day with fresh towels. Concierge at the front door 24/7. Reasonably priced. Perfect location and perfect hotel. I’ll stay there again next trip to Paris.
- Bradley (6/5): - This place has a great location and the staff is very friendly, but the place needs some sprucing up. My room had a make-shift tile covering for the toilet tank with a wooden stick to push where the lever should have been to flush. There were exposed wires in two places hanging out of the wall, and no outlet near the bed for recharging the phone while using it.
- Tom (10/5): - Great staff. Very accommodating. Housekeeping gets an A . Very helpful with reservation requests for restaurants. Hotel is very quiet, especially considering the location
- Philippa (8/5): - This is a quirky and rather quaint little hotel. The staff are kind and attentive. It isn’t flash and doesn’t have all the latest conveniences but that’s compensated by the fantastic location. We walked everywhere! The beds were comfortable and it was blissfully quiet so we slept really well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful hotel. - The staff are very kind at this quaint hotel in the heart of everything. The rooms are very clean, uncluttered, and the bed and bedding is wonderful. It is very eco-friendly and safe, including using your hotel key to turn on the lights and staff managing the key for you on your way in and out of the hotel. The doors are heavy so you will hear people come and go but otherwise it was quiet and and easy walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the Siene, shops are all right there and so is many options for dining. I very much enjoyed my stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location.
- Annie (10/5): - My friend and I loved this hotel, we plan on returning as soon as possible. The staff were extremely kind, and exceptionally helpful, arranging taxis and restaurant reservations, each restaurant superb. Helped us with navigating the city, all our needs met above and beyond. A special thank you to Michele for being so wonderful to us!
- Carol (6/5): - Excellent area.
No hot water until 9:00 a.m.
Only 2 outlets which were inconvenient to the head of the bed.
- carl (6/5): Not enuf - Way too simple, at least $100 overpriced. Electrical charger in bathroom not eorking.
- Timothy (10/5): - Very friendly staff, excellent location
- Ivan (10/5): - Perfect location.
Truly authentic Paris experience!
- Yanette (8/5): - Excellent Housekeeping - Very Clean, although there were no shower curtain or English TV Channels for viewing
- Justin (8/5): - My stay was great, the hotel is located perfectly in the beautiful marais with lots of shops, cafe and restaurant very close by. My only complaint would be of the bathroom and the bed. The bathroom is very cleaned however the shower is very small and very limiting space wise, plus a lot of water would spread across the bathroom with no plateform or designed area to limit the spread. The bed was great however it is very short. Me and my girlfriend had a lot of space in turns of how large the bed is but it isn’t very deep with both our feet sticking out or it. Other than these tiny inconveniences my stay was flawless and would definitely recommend to anyone.
- Hoangkhiem (8/5): - Great location
- Kate M (8/5): - Very sweet, small but sweet and a great view. The staff from the front desk to the people who brought us our breakfast every morning were delightful and so kind. Love this little gem. Kate
- Donna (2/5): - easy to fall off with unsafe steps in the hallway and waiting room in hotel
- Cliff (10/5): - No complaints, safe, quite, and easy access Louvre, Notre-Dame, shopping, dining, and Hotel de Ville Metro station.
- Ruffy (8/5): - It was a nice stay with these hotel. Convenient and in the center of everything in Le Marais
- Ann (10/5): - Would stay there again
- Michael (10/5): Perfectly located, friendly hotel. - This is a delightful boutique hotel just a few minutes' walk from Notre Dame and surrounding sites. There are plenty of local cafes and restaurants on the surrounding blocks. The room is tight, but honestly, you're there to see the city, not camp out at the hotel. The front desk staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. This was our second stay and would definitely use them again.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Our room size was small because that’s what we booked but it is very clean and the linens smells good and clean. We love that it is walkable to shopping and restaurants.
- Gabriela (10/5): - Excellent location, friendly staff.
- Peter (10/5): - Quaint old style Hôtel where the staff especially Salin when out of his way to make my stay extraordinary. Great room with comfortable bed.
- Bill (10/5): - Rooms were comfortable. Bathtubs are a great amenity and rare these days! Bathroom & room were perfect.
- Abhijit (10/5): - Excellent in every way - a charming hotel.
- Matt (8/5): - Amazing staff, incredibly friendly and the bed was wildly comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel for a great price! - Room was clean, staff was friendly, the view was great! Easily accessible for a couple nights stays in the city. A small elevator to easily get your luggage up to your room.
Caution when using AC as it left a dusty residue on my bed after the first time it was turned on.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A Parisian Gem - This hotel is a gem. Although it was quite old but they maintained it very well. Balcony is always a plus for me. Commendable staff. Thank you.
- George (10/5): - Stayed here for 4 night, we were quite pleased with the stay, ambiance, food, rooms are pretty great!
- Sharon (4/5): - No tea coffee maker in room no mini bar or fridge. All drinks banned from being brought in yet there wasn't even a bottle of mineral water in the room. Mold in shower toiletries mean-one small soap one tiny shampoo. Nothing else. No shower cap. One socket miles away from bed so not possible to charge phone by bed
- Lesley (6/5): Great location, old basic hotel - Old hotel in the Marais, very basic needs are met, the room is very small as is the bathroom. Funnily enough there is plenty of storage space. The owners are very friendly and helpful, but I’m afraid the services offered are absolutely minimal. One tiny bar of soap in the room , shampoo was never replaced ……a safe and a good hairdryer but that’s about it ……towels small …… bedding good, beds comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. Once our windows were closed, no street noise. I wanted to go downstairs to a coffee shop and bring coffee and croissant into my room, but the lady downstairs told me no coffee in the room. And there is no coffee machine in the room either. On a side Street off a busy area, bordering the gay communities. The restaurants and bars close by. Great location for access to the Marais, and took us 11 minutes to walk to Pont Neuf walk across the bridge and you’re in the Latin quarter, and Rue Saint Germain.
The front desk sent us to two good restaurants in the Marais area, the one we loved best was Les Philosophers.
I would say it is a great price for the Marais If you are going to be happy with a small room good beds and good front desk staff.
- Ruth E. (10/5): - A beautifully preserved boutique hotel, wonderful personalized service. LevMarais is such an interesting area, so well-located you can walk or metro to everything in Paris easily.
- Theresa (10/5): - Cute little hotel in the heart of Paris. Definitely would stay there again
- Thomas (8/5): - We needed a single night between Orly and CDG. This hotel was right off the RER B at Les Halles, and provided us with easy access lodging and many dining options for a final night in Paris.
- Yvette (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Great location!! Authentic French decor.
- Melissa B (10/5): - Just returned from Paris for a three night stay and found the hotel very clean and the staff extremely welcoming. Easy to get to the metro or bus and I felt very safe walking about.
- sarah (10/5): - This hotel is lovely, no frills. But what made our stay exceptional was the amazing and kind staff. Delicious breakfasts too! And to top it all off, I forgot my AirPods in the room when we left and when I emailed the hotel, they wrote back immediately and mailed them to me!
- David (8/5): Great location and good value - The best part about this hotel is the location - right in the heart of the Marais (the 4th) and pretty close to a Metro stop (Hotel de Ville). The little room just off the lobby has some charming character and the elevator/stairs are behind a secret panel, so that's kind of fun. Overall, it's a 3-star French hotel, so expect it to be pretty basic, but so is the price, so I think it's good value for the money, particularly for such a good location. I didn't get a street-front room, but instead mine opened onto a light well, which made it plenty bright enough during the day regardless. The bed was comfortable. The tub/shower had no protection (such as a shower curtain, as you would find in North America, or even one of those mini-glass partitions you find in the UK) so water pretty much goes everywhere when you shower - and it's not a wet room with a drain in the floor, so I was glad I had a second, dry towel for my next night so I could use the first one for mopping up the water. I didn't hear any noise from any of the other suites, so that's a big plus, as that can sometimes be a problem in these older properties. I'd stay here again.
- William (10/5): - The staff was so kind and helpful!!
- Sharon (8/5): - Helpful and friendly staff. Quiet and clean. Room was bright and sunny, reasonably spacious with a balcony. Great position in the heart of the Marais. Has an elevator. On the downside, my room didn’t have coffee/tea making facilities.
- Robert (10/5): - I we a great stay at this hotel in the center of Paris! The staff was very nice and accommodating.
- Gregory (10/5): - The staff in the lobby are exceptionally nice and polite. However there could be more mirrors and better lighting in the room and bathroom
- Helen (6/5): - Location was good for access to subway and for airport subway to Charles de Gualle. Staff was very helpful for giving directions and restaurant recommendations
- Rebecca (6/5): - The hotel itself was fine. Clean rooms with private baths and beds. Nothing bad, nothing fabulous. If you're just looking for a place to lay your head, this is all you need. Very basic accommodations but a lovely staff.
- MARY (10/5): - Staff was amazing, friendly, helpful and so efficient. Loved the minimalist room, it was spotless, loved the atmosphere outside room, and lobby!! conveniently located, we ate, walked everywhere, and had a great time. we felt safe, and comfortable. I would book here again
- Richard (8/5): - Helpful staff and great location near vintage fashion and patisserie
- Michael (8/5): Lovely, charming boutique hotel - What a fantastic location and a reasonable price! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, though a bit tight space-wise as one would expect in a boutique hotel in the heart of Paris. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and clean. The hotel itself is a beautiful little gem within walking distance of all the major attractions in central Paris. We would definitely stay here again!
- JAYANTH (10/5): - Loved the location, easy access to dining and transportation and most tourist spots. Reasonably priced and clean and very friendly front desk staff. It is clean and well maintained, but it is a slightly older building. They make you drop your keys off at the front desk every time you leave the hotel which was weird, but good value for money.
- Wu (8/5): - Good:staff and service made you feel at home.very convenient location ,room service was great.
Not so satisfied:Room is very small,Facilities in room were poor .
- Bill (8/5): - Very clean and a good location
- Glenn (10/5): - the staff are fantastic
- Marie-Anne (8/5): - Very nice old hotel. Helpful staff at reception.
- Emma (6/5): - Unfortunately there was no shower curtain, so we had to squat inside the bathtub to use the shower, which was uncomfortable and not safe. We also didn’t understand why no kettle was provided nor why no hot drinks were allowed. We could also see that our room was being used to store several office files, which posed a potential fire safety risk. Also, one of the members of staff opened our door twice without knocking beforehand.
- Jessica (10/5): - Amazing location in a neighborhood that is both quiet yet full of great restaurants and lively nightlife. It’s charming and exactly what you need if you’re going to be out in the city all day, but no frills or amenities other then a simple clean room/bathroom and a few toiletries. They do keep your key each time you leave, but we enjoyed checking in with the staff and it adds an extra layer of safety.
- Carl (10/5): Perfect location for trip to Marais and Paris. - We had a problem with a light in our bathroom. The hotel worked on the problem immediately and repaired it. Great location in the Marais but very close to the Seine and Left Bank. Would also like to say the staff was great, from the owner on down to the very pleasant maids.
- Catherine (4/5): - Over priced and very shabby.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Will not come back - The room was pretty outdated and tiny, and had no noise isolation from the corridor.
When you leave the hotel you must give the doorman your room key which is bizarre, and to get it back you only say your room number. No ID required. So basically anyone can come in and say "room X" and get your key.
Also to get in and out of the hotel you need the doorman to unlock the front door for you. So we were stuck inside while our taxi was waiting outside while the doorman disappeared for a few minutes.
WiFi is unstable (when it exists).
Only 2 electricity sockets in the room, both next to the floor (and none close to the beds).
We asked for additional soap, and were refused "because this is only a 3 star hotel so you can only get 1 soap".
- Jon (10/5): - Gréât location near the rue Rivoli
- Don (10/5): Amazing Location - The location of the hotel is perfect for everything we wanted to do and see. The hotel is cute and just what I would expect in Paris. The room needed a little work and I know they are in the process of some updates. Rooms were getting new mattresses while we were there. Room service was surprising, being from the US, hotels are not offering room service yet. The staff were great, very patient with us and the fact we do not speak French was never an issue.
- Mellanie (10/5): - Great location
Clean
Small rooms
Great staff
Air conditioning!
- Manuel (8/5): - First time in Paris. Location is very good. Room was smaller than I expected. No early checkin. Staff very nice and helpful. Recommended.
- Steven (8/5): Paris from the Hotel de Vieux Marais - Our stay was good, friendly and helpful staff.
- GUOXI (10/5): Friendly and Amazing! - The location, the service, and the staff all amazing! I would definitely recommend this hotel to all me friends who plan to visit Paris.
- shirley (8/5): - Location was good, good food around
