Alison (6/5): - In need of upgrading, very dated hotel. We had a room overlooking the car park which was noisy as the trips leave from there so lots of noise very early in the morning. The room was ok but again dated and the lady on reception wasn't very pleasant. If you don't book direct with the hotel they charge you £10 a night for parking which is a bit offensive when you've paid nearly £800 for the stay. I certainly would not choose this hotel again.

Lovely choice at breakfast, food topped up even until breakfast finishing time. 24 hour sandwiches available, very useful. Lovely terrace to sit out on, but a pity it shut at 6pm. The terrace had only been open for 3 months, so this could change. Nice pool and gardens, and you could hire pool towels. Would I stay here again, most definitely.

Andrew william (6/5): - There was no lift to the family room 87a . This made things awkward with kids and push chairs and everything that goes with a young family . They dont have air con , although it wasnt the end of the world i was surprised especially for people who stay in july and august . Not having air con was not the end of the world as stated but not having a fridge in the room is totally unacceptable especially with babes under two who still rely on milk . The whole place is dated , it does have a great position for the beach , breakfast was good but nothing fancy , afternoon food times a joke , you never know when there serving or if its just sandwiches, no shower room to depart , theres no way this is kid or family friendly with young children , stairs at thr front , stairs at the rear , taxis will only drop at the rear because of parking out front , so thats at least 15-20 steps up stairs , Overall 4 out of 10 , should not be marketed as family or young children compatible , very disappointed and feel mislead by expedia .

The process seemed to be carried out properly, bearing in mind it was pitch dark and a lot of people were sleepy and a disoriented. I would certainly recommend this Hotel to others.

The food was first class and not overpriced. The sea views are amazing and ever changing. I would definitely stay at Ommeroo again.
Michael (10/5): Lovely hotel - This hotel was perfect for a week's holiday. It is situated on the outskirts of St Helier with beautiful views overlooking the sea and promenade from where you could walk along or even into St Helier. The hotel was clean with good service and friendly staff. Breakfast was good with the usual choices of cooked food along with juices, cereals, fruit and toast. We ate in the hotel on our first evening and the meal was excellent. My steak was one of the best steaks I have eaten and was cooked perfectly to my request. There is a car park at the rear of the hotel although we did not have a car. We used the excellent bus service to get around the island and the bus stop to go east to Gorey or to the bus station was only a short distance from the hotel.

The breakfasts were amazing and so much choice from fruit, cereal, croissant, marmalade on toast and of course the cooked English breakfast. The view from our balcony over the sea, was beautiful. I cannot recommend it strongly enough and will definitely be going back again.

The manager came & chatted about our stay which was a lovey touch. My only quarm was the lack of toiletries. There was shower gel & soap but no shower cap, shampoo, conditioner. Probably just me but when you haven't brought any with you because you assume theyll have them, its annoying!Lesson learnt!

Jonathan (10/5): - What a lovely hotel. Situated opposite the very clean beach and the lido. The No. 1 bus stops right outside and we made use of the great local bus service all week. It was only a 10 minute walk into St. Helier bus station and town centre if walking. The food in the restaurant was lovely, and there were several other great restaurants close by too. All the staff without exception were so friendly and helpful, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Ommaroo hotel for your visit to St. Helier.

We ate there for the 3 nights that we stayed as we didn't want to chance going elsewhere when it was so good there. Breakfast was also good, cooked breakfast and/or continental, buffet style so help yourself to what you want. Disturbed sleep due to mattress being a little lumpy.

The hotel has been sympathetically updated inside with modern facilities and was very clean and the rooms were spacious. We loved our stay. The continental breakfast was varied and very well presented, we had an evening meal at the hotel which was excellent. The staff were friendly but not intrusive and provided a brilliant service. We will definitely be going back to the hotel and highly recommend it as an excellent place to stay.

The only thing that would have made this hotel even more perfect would have been the use of Jersey dairy butter and yoghurt at breakfast but great value and a wonderful experience, thank you!

Catherine (8/5): - It is situated just outside St Helier which is a 15 minute stroll or a 5 minute bus ride on a very regular bus service. Staff in the hotel were extremely helpful. Continental breakfast turned out to be a hot/cold buffet breakfast which was delicious. Hotel facilities were really good. We had our Sunday evening meal in the restaurant (roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with trimmings) which was gorgeous; the gravy was so meaty and tasty. Rooms were serviced each day and housekeeping staff were very accommodating. Our experience was very positive and I look forward to returning.

Keith John (8/5): - My family and I had two family rooms - one was bigger than the other, but both good rooms. The rooms were immaculately clean and the bathrooms were nice. We really liked the convenience of the bus stops outside, and the location on the beach with the lovely lido too - fantastic spot. And the staff we met were truly lovely, friendly people (the blonde woman who worked at breakfast and at the bar was fab!). Breakfast was excellent with plenty of hot and cold options. My family also got good use of the small heated pool. Beds were comfy too. The one thing that upset me was on our last full day. We went out in the morning and came back to our rooms around 3pm. The door to my room was kept ajar slightly by a cleaning cloth wedging it open - I assume that a cleaner meant to come back to finish the room. However, they didn't, and basically left my room unlocked and open for god knows how long. Nothing was taken, but it really was upsetting and worrying - a careless thing for a cleaner to do. The front desk staff could only say sorry and said they would tell the head of housekeeping. It dented the impression of what was otherwise a perfect stay, and I have to believe it was a one-off situation.
Tracey (10/5): - We were very happy with this choice of hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful, it was clean, there was a good breakfast selection and whilst there was a good choice of food on the menu the bistro menu had about 8 main choices and kids 5-6 choices, the main dining area had 3 starter, main & dessert choices but only ate there once as the choices weren't always our liking. The pool was small and water chilly, although it suggested a heated pool. It was opposite a nice clean and lifeguarded beach / natural lido. Overall a great holiday and would choose to stay there again.

MORRIS (8/5): Old Jersey Charm - We had an overall good experience. The dining staff are superior. The front staff is usually available and always accomodating. The hotel appears to have been recently renovated, and we had a ground floor room facing the back. All of this was fine, however, there is not air conditioning and not a good way to ventilate the room. The hotel is well located for beach access with a few restaurant and shop options.

Good dinner but have to book as it gets busy. Very friendly and very helpful staff. Staff Joanna was great with tourist advices and booked me various tours. Town centre and Liberation Square within 10 to 15 mins walk or can a bus. The bus stop is just outside the hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I will definitely will go back when I visit Jersey next.
Stephen (10/5): - I worked there as a porter when I was young in 1974. It was very old fashioned then ,a bit like Fawlty Towers on a larger scale. Now it’s relaxed ,comfortable and welcoming . The new generation are friendly but professional. I would love to visit again.
Sean (10/5): Break by the Beach - A travelling hockey team with 9 rooms booked some twin rooms and some single occupancy rooms. Slight confusion at first but all sorted without any disruption to ourselves & most of all with a smile laughter. The rooms were fairly basic but very clean and maintained to a very good condition. The breakfast was good quality produce, clean and well presented. The location for our team was perfect. An early swim in the lido & a coffee on the beach with only a short stroll into town for the entertainment. Every member of staff was polite , happy & helpful to all of our requirements….saying that , so were all of us..respectful , grateful for the service. Thank you to all at Ommaroo Hotel

Jose Manuel (8/5): - We had a great stay and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The bed wasn't as comfortable as we expected but other than that everything else was great and we would certainly return again.
Andrew (8/5): - The hotel is in a very good location, in walking distance of St. Helier centre or a very short bus ride, with several nice restaurants close by. It’s very clean, staff are friendly. But the bar is unattractive and the menu quite limited. My classic single room was very small and rear facing. All told, good value and I can recommend the Ommaroo., however.
David (8/5): - All the staff were superb very friendly and attentive. We were in room 92, on the top of 3 floors. There was a lift but only used for goods and luggage, so if you have a mobility issue request a ground floor. Our room was located at the back of the hotel and away from the main road so it was quiet, apart from Friday nights when there was a party at a local house, thankfully this didn’t go on all night. The room was nice and clean, the bathroom was small with a shower and toilet in the room, the wash basin was on a vanity unit in the main bedroom area. There is plenty of storage space. The included breakfast is a buffet type, with a good choice and quality. The hotel is located on the promenade, which you can walk around to get to the town centre takes about 20 mins. I would I stay here again when in Jersey. Most restaurants have staff shortages so I advise you book well in advance.
erica (6/5): Not recommended - Overpriced - The room was super small, no air-conditioning, windows locked. Breakfast is poor, worst coffee I have ever tried and not bread?! The personnel were not friendly at all.

Louise (10/5): Great hotel, great stay - Great hotel and great service. Staff are very friendly, breakfast was lovely, choice of hot and cold buffet, tea, coffee, juices etc... Room was modern and clean. Hotel pool was clean, lido opposite was brilliant for a dip. Lots of pubs and restaurants close by. Shops, bars and restaurants in St. Helier are only a 10 minute walk away. Bus stop close by. We really enjoyed our stay. Free use of carpark a plus too.
shaun (10/5): Fabulous views. - Lovely hotel with spectacular views. A little dated in places but our room was clean, bright and sunny and had all the amenities we needed for a 5 night stay. Breakfast was excellent, buffet style and the lovely staff brought coffee, tea, toast and pastries to our table every morning. We sat overlooking the beach and it was a wonderful start to our day. We were fortunate to have amazing weather when we visited Jersey so the hotel pool was a welcome treat, it was a shame there weren’t enough sun beds as so many guests wanted to enjoy the pool area. It may be worth investing in some more! Our only negative was that the lift wasn’t working during our stay which made it difficult for some of our party who aren’t in the best of health but the reception staff tried their very best by changing our room to a lower floor and carrying our suitcases to our room - thank you. All the staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful - Nikki on reception was fab finding bus timetables, calling taxis for us and just lots of general information. Tracey was great at breakfast and always had a big smile! I would recommend this lovely hotel and hope to return when we next visit Jersey.
