- JUAN MIGUEL (9/5): Hotel Flamingos una buena experiencia - Habitaciones comodas ,empleados serviciales .
- Marcelo (10/5): -
- Kaihang (4/5): pity - old facilities.until now they don't issue invoice.
- JohnnyBeeTravels (10/5): A beautiful time capsule of a hotel - With links to the Hollywood stars of the 50’s this hotel still excludes the glamour of its prestigious past.
Yes maybe in parts it’s showing its age but this stands as one of the most comfortable hotels i’ve stayed in.
Everything you could want is here, history, comfort, the most beautiful pool and staff who are so friendly and helpful.
The views are fantastic from all over the hotel and the restaurant is a must visit.
A step back in time and one that i hope to take again as soon as possible.
- Eduardo (2/5): - Habia cucarachas, sin aire acondicionado
- wang (10/5): - Excellent view
- Tirtha (8/5): Wonderful as always! - Staying in Los Flamingos gives you a sense of the serenity and peace that hallmarks the Pacific Ocean. Very few places could beat its beauty of location and its history. The Hotel is just so well-maintained as to be affordable and offer quality vacation experience. Maybe a lift for second floor. Better bathroom amenities.
- miguel (10/5): - Nice hotel to stay and relax ❤️
- Tarasiewicz (8/5): Very good -
- Lisette (8/5): - The scenery is for sure beautiful
- Fabrizio (7/5): Built in the ‘30s, very cool in the ‘60s, survived the ‘80s, now it needs help to shine back - It’s a faded glory from Acapulco’s years of Holllywood’s fame. It should be restored and protected as a landmark. Hopefully one day it might.
- Jofrid (8/5): Charming - Fantastic place, full of history and charm. The location on the top of the cliffs is perfect for wiev direct to sunset.
- warwickshirerover (10/5): Great Time Warp Hotel . A must visit in Acapulco - Wonderful time warp hotel in the most fabulous location . The celebrated home of Jonny Weismuller and host to a plethora of Hollywood "ratpack" parties in the 50s.
A little faded glory these days but still comfortable. The ideal antidote to high rise concrete monstrosities.
Service was superb and the restaurant was lovely.
Let's hope the Los Flamingos continues forever
- 199lesterg (8/5): Unique - service can be patchy - Enjoyed our stay here. This is a unique hotel despite an air of faded glory.
The staff are really laid back so don't expect very quick or overly attentive service.
The live music at the weekends in the restaurant was great and creates a nice vibe.
The restaurant needs a bit of a makeover and refresh to make the most of its location and potential.
Days trippers can pay to use the hotel pool and this can be annoying as noisy families and groups bring their their own music and speakers ruining the peaceful vibe.
This is a residential area. There are no restaurants nearby - it is a 20 min walk down to Playa Caletilla, The nearest shop to buy drinks etc.. is a 5-10 min walk. Its about a 45min walk to La Quebrada along the coast.
- Miguel (8/5): - Good
- Stanislaw (10/5): - Since I love historical places I felt in Flamingo at home , Ocean view from e room and especially restaurants and swimming pool priceless. Service excellent, very tasty kitchen. And so quite at night ,Moon and the Ocean and the spirit of Tarzan. Me and my wife most romantic stay so far. We like to walk to the beach down the hill.
- 1aprilfool (10/5): A very good «Pozole » - Very good atmosphere, great food and service even though it was very busy with loyal local clients! Life music!
The view of the open ocean is unique and the spectacular sunset a plus!
The place has not lost its charm in all the years..... thank you!
- alpha03 (10/5): Love this place ! - Hotel Los Flamingos is a hidden gem. I have been staying there for 30 years. I have become friends with many of the staff over the years. This hotel was owned by Johnny Weismueller and John Wayne. It was left to trusted employee Adolfo Santiago after their passing. Many Hollywood parties were hosted there back in the 50's and 60's. If only the walls could talk. If your looking for a 5 star resort this place is not for you. If you like 5 star service this is the place. Everyone is treated like a star ! The restaurant is very good and affordable ! Finally , they have the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. See you later this year my friends. 👍😉
- GordonW318 (8/5): Seen Better Days but Interesting - This unique 1930's hotel was once owned by Johnny Weissmuller of Tarzan film fame. It is perfectly situated on one of the highest cliffs in Acapulco giving breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and La Roqueta Island. Hotel Los Flamingos can be visited after seeing the divers as it is not far away from the cruise terminal.
- royv647 (10/5): Old but still a fantastic place - When we visited the Flamingos we had no idea of it’s history .
To find out it was once owned by the Duke ( John Wayne ) and Johnny Weissmuller Of Tarzan game made the visit all the more special, just imagine the fun those guys and their Hollywood buddies would have had here.
The scenery overlooking the ocean is magnificent, the hotel is built right on the cliff edge.
Great pool and entertainment area and the rooms are spread over the hillside.
Of course old now but still a great place to stay for the history and spectacular location.
There is also a hall of fame , see some of the Hollywood set who stayed here in its Heyday.
- roberto (2/5): lastima !!!
- holidayseeker (6/5): Historical - Visited here as part of a cruise tour. Historic old hotel from the 50's that was once owned by John Wayne and the Tarzan actor Johnny Weismueller. It is rather run down now but the photos of the Hollywood stars who frequented the hotel are very interesting.Great views .
- 62SusanM62 (8/5): Nostalgic Beauty - This hotel/restaurant is a faded star from the glamour days of Hollywood. She hasn't kept up appearances but is still worth a visit. We loved the sense of history when Cary Grant, John Wayne and other big names from the 40's hung out there. You can ask to sit at Johnny Weismueller's table and sip a sunset cocktail over a panoramic view. We can't vouch for any of the rooms but the pool is a decent size and the food in the restaurant is both decent and extremely reasonable.
- Pekka (10/5): - Paratiisi! Todella osaava henkilökunta.
Ruoka oli hyvää, vaihtoehtoja myös kasvissyöjille/vegaaneille.
- JordanS8 (8/5): A historical site - Shopworn with lots of character, this playground of the ‘30s Stars was very interesting. They keep a small museum in front honoring Johnny Weissmuller,John Wayne and others who frequented this place in its heyday. The best part is the magnificent view. Well worth seeing.
- TedN767 (8/5): Take a walk on the wild side . - I still like this hotel but it’s not for the faint hearted, it’s just worn out , it’s passed its use by date and a smarter guy would not be here, but I like the drive in the worn out vw beetle up the hill at $1, I like the modelo negra beer over looking the worlds prettiest coast and cliffs, I like the staff who have been here 40 plus years, but even though room 17 is very sad decor wise the view is inspirational.
So a blast of nostalgia, a dream of amazing times gone past this hotel is indeed a worn out Grand Hotel and I for one still enjoy it.
- M974RJjans (10/5): An afternoon to remember!! Go on Thursday for Pazole!! - More than just a Hotel and Restaurant, it's a Landmark that helps you see Acapulco through the eyes of many great movie stars and famous people!! The view from where it is in the cliffs is breathtaking and by all means one of the MOST beautiful sunsets. Enjoy margaritas by the pitcher!!
- AnnieMG (8/5): Well worth a visit - We visited Los Flamingos hotel as part of a tour of Acapulco. We were impressed with the historical background of the hotel, it’s stunning views, and the ‘tarzan’ suite - Casa Tarzan where Johnny Weissmuller stayed.
What an incredible location for a hotel.
- truck2chief (8/5): We got everything we came for! - Having visited Los Flamingos many times over the years we knew amenity wise what to expect. Hotel wise in the traditional section of Acapulco it is tops.
From our balcony room #31 the John Wayne suite you have a perfect unobstructed view of the Pacific. A special thanks to RFNJ and Drayton for setting up and confirming all. My friends loved it.
I have to say the beds were better then we expected and the wife loved the pillows so a good night sleep was had. The Airconditioner was just right. Despite having it off during dinner we left the patio doors open to allow a breeze into the room in hopes of hearing the ocean all night. After dinner it was far too stifling not to use the air so we clicked it on and within minutes it was at a reasonable temperature.
This was a 1 night stay only so well worth the visit very peaceful and you will not find a better view anyway.
- AgnieszkaK296 (8/5): Part of Old Acapulco tour - Los Flamingo Hotel was a part of the Old Acapulco tour offered by Acapulco For All - and Sebastian Hernandez. Time got frozen in that place - looks exactly the same like in the photos from the 50s and 60s. It was nice to see the pictures of the Hollywood stars (John Wayne and many more) at the lobby and believe it or not, the hotel’s owner - whom we recognized from the pictures - is sill hanging around the lobby smoking cigar and sipping brandy. That was cool. The view from the hotel is spectacular- if you can, have a lunch there and enjoy the moment.
- 273jarik (8/5): Awesome place to eat for a view and ambiance - We had lunch here after visiting the divers. The ambiance of the restaurant is great, with a fantastic view of the ocean. We asked for a quick meal, so get got us some chicken tacos that were OK, but not spectacular. But on the other hand, we asked them to get get something quick to us, and they did. The claim they invented the Coco Loco drink, so we tried that. And it was really fun. It is an alcoholic drink in a big coconut. While there you can visit Tarzan's house, unless someone it renting it, then you just need to enjoy the view.
- wearytravelerMN (8/5): Old, historic hotel - Los Flamingos has a past connected to the "Hollywood Gang" of John Wayne, Jonny Weismuller, Fred MacMurray and others. It is an acquired taste, with its temperamental showers and cranky awnings. But you won't find a more gorgeous, peaceful setting on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. Whales playing below you, pelicans soaring with the breeze, sunny every day, warm, and romantic sunsets. Friendly staff, good food, and extremely reasonable. I've been going for almost 40 years, and am in love with the place. It's small, but perfect for a single traveler because the other guests are a friendly bunch and the staff works to make you comfortable.
- AllieJosie1 (10/5): Loved this Hotel - When you are in Acapulco stop in to this hotel for a Coco Loco! It was like taking a step back in time in a good way. Customer service was great. Want to come back to stay. The views are amazing. Check out the Tarzan Suite.
- Oscar (6/5): Bueno, Bonito, Barato.
- Smart (8/5): One of a kind place with killer views - We loved Los Flamingos. The views were amazing. The pool was outstanding. The feeling of the place was really unique. Yes, it is old but still classy.
- Graham (6/5): Great view & character, but sorely needing repair - Set on cliffs on the Acapulco peninsula with great ocean views. An authentic part of Hollywood history - but it's living too much on that history and is sorely in need of repair. Tired decor, cracked bathroom fittings with persistent bad smell and seldom hot water, flimsy room doors don't feel secure.
- Ashley (8/5): Historic, friendly, a little bit faded - Like a formerly healthy and attractive person who's getting on in years, the passing decades have worn away at the Hollywood glamor Los Flamingos could once claim. This is Old Acapulco. Everything's a little bit dated, in some cases (like sliding glass doors and bathroom faucets in the rooms) barely functional. Still, it's a beautiful place, lushly landscaped, where the staff tries hard to make you feel at home. We loved hanging out in the restaurant and bar, open to the sea breezes, where you seem to have slipped back into the 1940s when Johnny Weissmueller and the Duke were holding court. Incredible views -- the view from our room was one giant Pacific panorama -- but nothing to do in the down-and-out neighborhood, so you will have to taxi down the hill to town or to the crowded city beaches. Only a few minutes by cab to La Quebrada.
- Tim and caz (6/5): Great views. - Great stay. Fantastic views. Rooms could do with a bit of a makeover for the amount you pay. But you are paying for the view really. Clean. Helpful staff. Good location.
