- Catherine (8/5): - Great location. Spacious. Sunny.
- Charlie (10/5): Highly recommended!. - Friendly and respectful staff. Room was Clean and Tidy, Very close to the city and shopping centre. Love the fact that there is a kitchen to prepare and cook. There was nothing that I didn't like.
- Shelley (8/5): -
- Khaled (8/5): -
- Mary Ann (10/5): -
- sarah (3/5): -
- Chew (6/5): Feedback on stay at city towers - Very clean, microwave n cutlery provided
Appreciate the upgrade but ground floor would have been better
Generally prompt replies from you 1. Should set up communication via WhatsApp, easier for us
2. Nobody was at the reception throughout our stay
3. Only 1 teaspoon provided
4. Should provide 2 tea or coffee sachet for 2 pax per day
5. No tissue provided
6. No soap dish - I DIY my own
7. No dish detergent and sponge
8. No hand soap for kitchen
9. Use liquid dispenser, refill, less wastage
10. Towel bar so far from shower
11. Kitchen blinds doesn't cover window fully, can see through from outside, no privacy
12. No Netflix or HBO, free movies
- Tearne (8/5): I was up for surgery my stay met all expectations and I would definitely stay again . - Please clean the couch in 202
- Bartosz (8/5): Certainly worth of booking -
- Skelley (9/5): Superb - close to town, comfy as and everything I needed
- Jim (7/5): Quite a pleasant stay overall in a quiet, clean ,warm room , with good WiFi - A large ground room , acceptably clean and well maintained It was almost impossible to find someone ( ANYONE ! ) in Reception , which area seemed totally untenanted throughout the day
- Erik (8/5): Very good - Always a great stay. This is my 3rd stay here. Amazing location walking distance to Newmarket and the domain. Check-in and check out are simple and efficient. Parking is great and free with stay very handy in auckland. Didn't have any tea bags and liked the previous room layout I had before but otherwise small gripes, but overall, I'm very happy to stay here when I'm up in auckland
- Chaya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matilda (8/5): Very good -
- Gillian (8/5): Great stay was exactly what I needed at the time - Lovely wee apartment had everything you needed. Close to the local bus stops or just a 40min walk to the centre. Quiet at night. It needs sound proofing hear the neighbours from all sides, the washing machines could do with a clean where the detergent goes.
- Margaret (8/5): Very well equipped apartment in a good location - The apartment was spacious and had everything I needed including a generous supply of tea, coffee etc. There was access to a laundry. There was a very helpful information booklet with useful advice about food shops (NB Woolworth’s supermarket in Westfield has now reopened and the station is a bit further away than 4 minutes) The reception was never staffed whilst I was there. In particular this made arranging to leave bags somewhere after the 10.00am checkout a bit stressful as it took a while to get a reply to my emails. There needs to be a clearer mechanism for contacting the owners.
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Anthony (2/5): Very poor - What I like most is the convenient location. Too old everything
The carpet was not clean, the dining table was not clean and was old, which really affected the mood of dining.
- Sheryl (9/5): Super comfortable, convenient units with everything you need! - Super clean unit with private courtyard, comfortable bed, very well equipped - walking distance to coffee shops, supermarkets and shopping in Westfield, also just 10minutes walk to Domain Lodge and Auckland Hospital. (I was supporting a patient). Dual cycle AC unit to stay warm or cool if needed, and lovely opening windows/sliding door for fresh air. Super value. A bit of noise and water flowing down outside from upstairs units - maybe undergoing renovation - until quite late at night but it was not hugely disturbing for me, as I was up late in any case.
- Laurence (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (8/5): Comfortable and spacious - The flat was quite big, lots of equipment in the kitchen, very practical. The location is good, you still need to take the bus most of the time, but it doesn't take too long. When talking with staff via messages, it was always fast and they were always eager to help. No one was there when I got the keys. Which is not an issue since you can just call them. But the fact that the keys were in the unlocked flat made me a bit uncomfortable. As a female solo traveler, it did not make me feel very safe. Anyone could have got in by the time I got there. Especially as my flat was on the ground floor, right next to the car park.
The soundproofing is really bad. When I entered the flat on the first day, I thought all the windows were open, but it turns out that it's just not good soundproofing. You get used to it, but it can be a bit annoying.
I had ants in my kitchen from day one. They never really went away. Maybe that's because I was on the ground floor. It wasn't a big problem, but it was still a bit annoying.
I still give it a good rating, because overall it's a good place to stay, but there are just a few small issues that are worth mentioning.
- Trevor (7/5): OK but never going back. - Very clean, well-presented and tidy. Great location, very close to Newmarket. Easy free parking. The shower - constantly swapped from freezing cold to boiling hot. You could not take a proper shower.
- Peterson (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (9/5): Very adequate - Big bed. Large room. Mural. Big wardrobes. Good parking. View ftom balcony. Kitchen needed an oven dish dangerous shower entry.
- Sarah (7/5): Accommodation met expectations for price paid plus easy check in/out without ever meeting an employe - Our apartment was huge, we booked a 2 bedroom and there was a nice courtyard just for us with a good size lounge. Newmarket is a great location handy to malls, buses and trains Stove was old and didn't work well, kitchen utensils need updating
- Sameer (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): A spacious and comfortable retro apartment. - We really enjoyed our stay; at first the apartment seemed a bit dated but by the time we left we affectionately called it "retro". Yes, it's a bit old fashioned, but it's in a great location on several bus routes and close to Grafton station. It's very spacious with a sofa and a small dining table and there is a well equipped kitchen with a cooker so we ate in more often than we had expected to. There's a washing machine and a clothes line, there's a big car park and the flat had its own small garden. The wifi was really good. There's air-con if it's too hot and extra blankets if it's too cold and the bed is really comfortable. Communications with the manager before and during the rental were always answered promptly and helpfully. It was good value compared to many others, so we were really pleased with the choice.
- Astrid (10/5): location was key - location, location, location ❤️❤️❤️ close to bus and trains 🚆 👌 😀 the size of the apartment. would stay there again. bathroom was functional, but dated. the thing I would critique on.
- Allen (9/5): Great value. A hidden gem - The room was spacious, quiet, close to Newmarket, the Domain and CBD. It provided everything that a more expensive place would offer. It was extremely good value Couldn't fault it.
- Thomas (9/5): Quiet, relaxing. If your staying longer than 2 nights and plan o doing some cooking it's best to do - Location is spot on. Central with public transport within than 5 mins walk, both buses and train. The apartment was just right for our needs and better than expected. Balcony was a nice touch
- Sophie (9/5): Superb -
- D (10/5): Exceptional -
- Inia (8/5): Very good -
- Caroline (8/5): Quiet, spacious haven - Very spacious studio room, great location on the outskirts of Newmarket, so delightfully quiet and peaceful n/a
- Laetitia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashlee (8/5): Very good -
- Hanah (8/5): A nice (but older) complex, and catered well for my needs. I will definitely stay again. - It was a really spacious room with a private courtyard to enjoy the sunshine outdoors and the staff were very accommodating. It was close to public transport for going into Auckland CBD. The windows didn't open or shut easily so the staff had to come to shut the main windows at night.
- Robertson (5/5): Passable -
- Annette (8/5): Good location, reasonably priced accommodation - Location & price. Good having kitchen with toaster & microwave. Bit dated. Shower small & with shower curtain I managed to flood the floor. I didn't like how you had to step up into it. Pressure was good though. Had to buy coffee as only 2x sachets supplied & not replenished. No milk supplied.
- Morgan (10/5): Exceptional - We liked the self check in. Great communication via app or contact details. Enjoyed our stay and will book again.
- Terry (7/5): Good value for money. - Good value for money. Central for train & bus travel. Reasonable easy walking to restaurants, shops. Able to park car and not use it for 3 days. Unit was a little dated, but OK. Next door unit was quite noisy in the evenings.
Notes that tell you where to go and what to do, needs updating as some of the places to go to are not there anymore.
- Tangi (4/5): 1 issue I can't shake - the whole place I couldn't smoke outside my room at night , too dark to walk to road alone..
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- John (8/5): Very good - Convenient location. Spacious room
- Jennifer (7/5): Good -
- Matthew_nz (8/5): Handy for a week - It was in a good location, close to everything I needed, the room is big and clean and the bed is big and comfortable. The Wifi worked well. Easy parking. Good communication The soundproofing between rooms is okay but not perfect. The lights hang so low from the ceiling that I hit my head on them repeatedly. Not a lot of cutlery
- Alba (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (8/5): Very good - Great location and very accommodating staff!
- Megan (8/5): Excellent stay mainly because of the location. - Great location for us, close to Auckland Hospital walking distance to Newmarket food and shopping. Nothing.
- Bruce (7/5): Good - Very central, quiet clean and roomy Nothing. Never met the staff but spoke to by phone and instructions were clear so
- Sandra (9/5): Superb -
- David (5/5): Passable - Didn't see any staff while there. The location was good and within walking distance for Auckland City Hospital, our main reason for choosing this hotel. The apartment was comfortable, bed was OK but the pillows were rather inadequate. very flat, need replacing. Kitchen was adequately equipped for light meals. The apartment is a little tired and in need of some TLC. The patio area was rather untidy and in need of attention around the planter area. If tidied up it would be a nice place to sit out. The step up into the shower was not good, easy to trip if not careful and the bathroom fan was dirty
- Yu-ting (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (9/5): Easy access and good set up for our needs. Would stay again - Spacious convenience Noisy group at 4am
- Johnz (9/5): Superb - Excellent location: handy walking distance to hospital, Auckland Domain and to Broadway. Numerous cafes/ restaurants nearby. Plentiful on site parking. Room is somewhat dated, but clean and well-equipped for short-term stays. The office was locked/ unmanned when I arrived. No notice advising of contact details. An employee arrived after abt 5 minutes.
- Robin (10/5): Great value and location - Tidy, good value and great location
- Kelsie (8/5): Very good - I had a room on the ground floor, it was basic but perfectly adequate. The room was quiet and parking was really convenient. I was staying for a hospital appointment and the accommodation was great for this - easy walking distance to the hospital and a kitchen to make breakfast and a packed lunch.
- Ssingh77 (5/5): Passable - Had requested for a ground floor room and it was considered. Really nice of the owners. Felt bit old with rusts. The bathroom in our room was inconvenient, almost slipped twice as the access was through a step which got wet and slippery.
- Steve (9/5): Superb -
- Steven (7/5): Good -
- David (6/5): Happy enough but probably wouldn’t stay here again - Spacious
Good size and comfortable bed
Location
Lovely New York Central Park mural on bedroom wall Poor privacy due to inadequately small kitchen window blind
Minimal tea/coffee facilities
No cushions for sofa
Toilet pan loose and insufficient toilet rolls
Initial problem with entrance door lock (fixed promptly)
Only 3 pillows for double bed
Minimal staff availability on site (for only half hour each morning?)
- Shelley (7/5): Very good for the price paid & located close to hospital which was reason for stay. - Location central to shops & hospital great walking distance Hot water was not working in our room. Rang reception nx day & onsite staff sorted out for us.
- Carolyn (8/5): The room was clean and had everything I needed and having parking was great. Will definitely be back again! - The location was great and it was spacious and had everything I needed.
- Wilson (9/5): A little sad leaving, can't wait to return next time. - location, privacy, clean & well equipped with what you require.
- Darlene (4/5): You need liquid milk, and more tea and coffee. But the room was clean and bed comfortable - Location great.
Bed was comfy,
Shower was nice and hot. There wasn't any liquid milk, it was tiny packets of powdered milk.
There was only 2 tea bags and 2 hot chocolates. No coffee.
That was annoying.
I also had to ring reception, as there was a constant banging sound coming from upstairs.
It turned out to be a person playing the drums, which did stop upon me complaining.
- Pendragond (9/5): Comfortable, close to the city, value for money. - The room had a fully functioning kitchen with stove, cook top and dishwasher. The room was close to public transport and had a car park. A selection of toiletries (sample size) were left in the room as well as tea & coffee, and a pair of slippers each. The bed was comfy, and my husband LOVED the shower. The building looked old on the outside, but inside was modern. We don't use WiFi much, but had to for check-in as we were flying home at the end of our stay. It kept dropping out and ended up taking around 15+ attempts to check-in as every time it dropped out I had to start again. The blinds were ill-fitting and looked as though they were bought cheaply as 'near enough is good enough' - there was a large gap on the side in both the bathroom and kitchen windows. If you don't like a hot shower it was hard to get the temperature right. As there was only enough cutlery for 2, only 1 frying pan & pot, & no baking/roasting trays it seemed a waste to have a dishwasher and an oven.
- Ross (6/5): Not too bad for the price - Good parking, close to shops and pretty quiet , comfortable bed It’s old and needs updating has a few rough edges they only supply initial tea coffee etc so it’s not really serviced and the office is always closed BUT it’s what you pay for and I was happy The grouting on the floor leaked but they gave you a old towel to mop up lol
- Brenda (9/5): Superb - Excellent value , clean and close to everything Hot water took a long time to come through for shower and water pressure not great
- Camila (8/5): GOOD - Location.
- Tracy (5/5): Overall, enjoyed our stay while here. - Location was excellent.
We needed to be close to hospital and have access to food supplies The overwhelming smell of bleach in the bathroom and the water that pools on the floor by shower ... you cannot walk in there in socks.
- Wayne (8/5): Very good -
- Laine (6/5): Based on the reviews I read before booking, I expected more. - The bed was comfortable. The location was great. Easy parking. Room was big. Netflix was working. Wifi worked fine. The room set up was family friendly and my kids were comfortable I booked 2 rooms for my stay. One room had a damp smell. The other room had a very tired bathroom. They left a note in the bathroom asking me to mop the floor with a towel because the grout was lose and water was seaping around. Both rooms had a tired kitchen. My kids hopped out the car and found little 'baggies' in the car park close to the reception.
- Belinda (8/5): Very good - Crystal clean
- Carrie-ann (7/5): Good - Great size space for a family plenty of room. How noisey other people upstairs were.... sound proofing needed.
- Laura (8/5): OK for a short stay. Pics on booking.com not representative of true state outside - It was very clean Outside really needs a refurb, it looks super run down
- Hugh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (7/5): Good - More spacious than expected. Apartment had a new bathroom unit, with clean shower, toilet & vanity. Apartment also came with many additional things we had forgotten e.g dental kits & shaving sets. WiFi was intermittent and worked around half the time. Smart TV, without internet, was not very smart!
- Neil (10/5): A good find in Auckland - Excellent value for money. The host was very helpful and welcoming. The hotel maybe dated, but super clean and tidy.
Location was great, so close to the Newmarket shops and eateries. It was all good, no complaints
- Karell (9/5): Superb -
- Melanie (8/5): Safe, comfortable, relaxing - Easy instructions to access unit, went straight to room & unit key there for us
Carpark on site, no extra charge
Felt safe, security patrols also
Very comfy lounge
Huge bed
Soft carpet
Balcony
Nice leafy outlook
Washing machine IN unit
Foldable clothes rack for drying clothes, very handy
Ironing board & iron
Close to Auckland Domain
Close to Newmarket shopping area & mall Need to be a bit careful of step up into shower & step down with wet feet
- Tahlia (8/5): Very good - I liked that it was renovated, and lovely customer service. Also location was great.
- Erik (10/5): Exceptional - The room was much larger than other rooms in the area at similar price points.
- Ryan (8/5): Very good -
- Carolyn (8/5): Apartment - Comfortable bed
Kitchen
Location No complaints
- Charlotte (8/5): Very good -
- Melanie (6/5): Good location, clean but needs a massive facelift. - location good. Quiet. Clean. Bed and pillow actually comfortable. Looks a little dodgy as outside of property especially the balcony, and the stairwell needs a massive clean. Very old and outdated, worn, mis-matching furniture. Mirror in lounge to high and could only see too if my head, needs to be turned vertical!! Minimal accessories.
- Robert (7/5): it was adequate - balcony kitchen not very well equipped
