Guest Reviews
- Taylor (7/5): Value for money, friendly staff - Dinner from pub was excellent. Pity there is no microwave in room though. The room needs a microwave as husband has specific dietary needs that this would help with and im sure other clients would find it helpful
- Bohdana (9/5): very good value for money -
- Theo (10/5): - Great location great bistro and kids area Nothing
- Hazel (8/5): Very homely and welcoming. - Being part of the hotel was handy. The accommodation was very secure as was our car. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a little way from the town centre and having a car was essential.
- GarryT51 (9/5): - Modern rooms, very clean and well laid out. Great size ensuite and shower. Reasonable priced.
The staff couldn't be more helpful, happy, and caring.
Great, reasonably priced restaurant with good fresh food.
Musician, single guitar player singer that wasn't over the top, noisy like a lot of other Hotels. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Can be a little noisy from the road noise and patrons leaving the venue early hours of the morning. Nothing too bad as the rooms are very quiet normally for a hotel all on one level. The 4 rooms are in a gated area on one side of the hotel. We would still recommend it to friends and family.
- maria (10/5): Very good - Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very clean. The food was great great value for money. Nothing
- Michael (8/5): Awesome - Great Location Great value
- Helen (10/5): Would stay there again. - Convenient TV remote didn’t work
- Sam (6/5): - The towels/face washers and linen were clean. Bathroom was clean. No mould. It's not too far of a walk to main street. The pub is quite modern, pretty big and it has a good vibe. Staff are friendly. The air conditioner was very noisy. But it worked fine. Had to turn it off to sleep though.
- Catterson (8/5): - Breakfast was not included
- Ashliey (8/5): -
- Neil (8/5): Good cheap, clean accommodation. - Clean and well priced Bed was a bit firm and room was small
- Helen (10/5): Perfect for 3 senior ladies. - Clean, convenient for food and location good. Lockup car park at night.
- Russell (10/5): Fantastic, a hidden gem for accomodation in Orange. Four units and extremely quiet. - Everything, great central position. Limited parking outside entrance to accomodation. Plenty of parking in Hoyel carpark.
Only minor complaint is we booked out a day early, discussion of refund has to be with booking .com , not hotel.
- Johann (7/5): Stay was enjoyable no hesitation in recommending - Kitchenette good Shower rose needs attention keeps dropping during use
- Mohit (10/5): Pleasant stay. - Location and staff behaviour.
- totla (10/5): -
- Dee (10/5): -
- Jacqueline (10/5): Absolutely amazing - The staff who greeted me when I checked in were very very helpful Took me to my room and advised me where to park
The tap over the sink in my room was broken and a plumber was called and he came and fixed it for me A very nice chap
The room was very clean
Bed was comfy and plenty of pillows …a bonus
The food at the hotel was exceptional
The hotel facilities were great and the staff at the bar very friendly
Loved the fire pits in the outside area
Aesthetically pleasing was the hotel
Very very happy
Amazing place to stay and dine
Loved it and would stay again
- Rachel (9/5): Amazing food! Really nice play to stay - Perfect for a quick one night stay. Room was clean and spacious. Pillows were super comfy. Only downfall was beds were a bit too hard for personal preference. Food was absolutely amazing and would highly recommend! Beds too hard
- Leah (8/5): -
- shaun (10/5): Incredibly good valuee for money -
- Cassandra (10/5): I’d stay there again for sure - So quiet. Great value. Friendly staff, ultra helpful! Not a thing
- Quang T (10/5): Nice room, convenient location, good value for money. - Clean and comfortable room, very quiet in spite of being part of a hotel, convenient parking. Shops, bistro, fast food and Asian restaurants just a few steps away, petrol station next door. No comment.
- Rhiannon (5/5): Overall, the stay was ok. Accommodation disappointing, the tavern is fantastic. - Closeness to the pub next door and playground for the kids. The shower heat and pressure was also good. We chose to book a stay at the Ophir hotel because we’d eaten at the Ophir Tavern and loved the vibe, the amazing new kids playground, the food and cleanliness of the pub. We should not of assumed the accommodation would be on par with the tavern, and were left disappointed. The carpet is stained in various spots all over. The bathroom is due for a renovation, it’s mouldy in the silicone. The bed linen didn’t feel fresh, and the single mattresses were really old.
- Charlotte (9/5): Great location & room - The location was great walking distance to the takeaway places, room was spacious and the beds were comfy No microwave and the car got covered in grass clipping from the mower being used neer the car
- Donna (10/5): - Room was spacious and very clean
Staff (Jen) were extremely helpful, friendly and helpful.
Will deffinatly be staying there again if needed in the future.
Highly recommended

- Samuel (9/5): - Great sized room. Had the right amenities and plenty of towels
- Brigitte (9/5): - The staff went above and beyond for us
- George (9/5): -
- Ian (6/5): Comfortable but poorly maintained - Spacious and clean Damaged exhaust fan in the bathroom. It was partially hanging out of the ceiling. Informed staff who said it has been like this for a while but will get the electrician to look at it
- Anthony (8/5): -
- Theo (9/5): - Value for money great bistro and kids area Nothing all good
- Nick (9/5): Great - Room quality
- Ashleigh (10/5): Exceeded expectations and made it very easy with children. - Beds were comfortable, the fenced in area around the accommodation made it great with kids. The hotels facilities for dinner and playground for kids was exceptional. N/a

- Earl (9/5): Old resident - Great Position
- Catherine (10/5): Easy and convenient for dinner too. - Easy access we could have dinner on site too.
Comfortable beds.
- Marilyn (10/5): Great location for a short stay in Orange - Everything you needed Nothing really
- Naomi (10/5): -
- Christopher (6/5): My day was good. It’s a shame I got charged twice and had to make phone calls to fix it up. - The shift needs to think more when you’re serving a chicken and bacon and mushroom pasta you need to have bacon at least in it not ham and the ham was cold and the chicken was a bit suss overall more gluten-free options You could have more gluten-free options
- JOHN (8/5): -
- Ann (7/5): -
- Meg (8/5): Overall good - Positives
+ easy check in
+ tasty affordable food
+ locked car park and hotel area
+ not loud from the pub
+ dark in the morning Negatives
- weird layout of kitchen
- some road noise
- no microwave
- Jai (10/5): - Location
- Makita (10/5): Great stay - Clean, affordable and ground level. I stayed with a 2yr old and it was roomy enough and the gated grass area was good for them to have a run around.
Loved the ability to access the playground and restaurant on-site as well. The space in the kitchentte area. A bit tight but manageable.
- Rony (9/5): Nice accomodation with limited budget - Nice location with other food restaurants N/a
- Ann (9/5): Excellent will be back for sure 😊 - Value for money, comfortable, the pub had great food.
- Deepthi (8/5): -
- Elaine (5/5): Their core business is not hotel accommodation, keep that in mind then all is okay. - Close to a few fast food joints if these are on your menu.
- Harry Cho (6/5): -
- Karlee (1/5): - The owners are rude n heartless Service
- michele (10/5): Orange is the rural version of Hunter Valley - Great price, lovely comfortable room.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Loved the wildlife around. Great prices at the bistro and drinks Only that there were no kitchen appliances
- Lisa (8/5): -
- Parth Narayanbhai (10/5): excellent - peace clean
- Quan (8/5): -
- So Hen (8/5): -
- Sylvia (8/5): Have stayed before; will stay again. - I brought my own breakfast which I made early in the mini kitchen of my room. I am unaware of any breakfast facilities nearby other than Maccas. It suits my needs, is close to a friend's place, and at a good price. What's not to like? Not excellent but certainly very good.
- Neeraj (1/5): very bad and completely ruined our stay - was a great location. There were guest who played music outside in the common area till 2am, requested them twice to stop but meet with no response. Both our kids could not sleep the whole night.
- george (10/5): Great overnight weekend uber comfy stay - Room was a surprise..its behind the hotel but its not joined so no noise etc..security gates to enter motel area. Car is parked in secured car park next to the hotel. Slept like happy babies. It's best to have overnight bag rather than 20 bags as car not out the front but no car noise either at 6am. perfect for a 1 or 2n stay.
- Donna (10/5): -
- Justa (9/5): -
- Helen (10/5): Excellent. I will certainly stay there again. - Location was perfect for why I chose to stay there.
Staff were very attentive in relation to booking in. I was actually taken to my room.
I was rung during my stay and checked on in relation to a power outage due to a damaging storm that left the Ophir without power for several hours.
Meals at the restaurant were delicious.
- Neil (10/5): -
- Teagan (8/5): -
- Maxine (7/5): -
- Marianna (10/5): Clean welcoming and respectful staff - Very clean and close to local shops and restaurants Friendly staff always make me feel like I’m home all questions asked are answered very quickly

- christine (9/5): Clean, comfortable, friendly and value for money. - The room was clean and comfortable. We had dinner at the restaurant and our meals were delicious and very generous. The complimentary toiletries were not great. I feel they could be upgraded a a very small cost. Suggestion would be maybe install the bulk pump for shampoo conditioner and liquid soap.
- Colin (9/5): A great place to stay that was easy to get to and from from most of Orange - Easy to deal with, great size room which was surprisingly quiet being on a relatively busy corner. Easy access with lots of parking. The Hotel food was excellent. The only negative thing was the lack of a microwave. We were there for 4 nights and would have appreciated the microwave to perpare lunches for being out and about during the day
- Greg (8/5): Clean, comfortable and perfect for a short stay in Orange. - The staff were very accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, shower was great and everything worked as it should. Nothing to my recollection.
- Hudson (8/5): - Lots of room. Secure parking. Very quiet, comfy bed and adequate kitchen facilities. Dripping tap in shower and insufficient water for people to shower.
- Brian (6/5): - Awesome attached to hotel Forgot to make up our room
- Kim (10/5): Will stay there again if I have to stay in Orange overnight - Nice clean property
Friendly staff
- Melissa (10/5): Affordable, central and clean - Love this place. Affordable, central and clean
- Dena (10/5): - Convenient location
- kylie (9/5): Great for the perfect overnight pit stop. - The family rooms were away from the hustle and bustle of the pub - did not hear any pub noise
- Ka Hang (7/5): -
- Chelsea (10/5): -
- Laura (7/5): - Food was lovely, nice bar area. Good place to stop for a night.
- Jamieson (10/5): - Everything and everyone, the staff were so welcoming and friendly, would not hesitate to stay there again Nothing, everything was awesome
- Annette (10/5): Weekend away for a reuniom - The Ophir hotel was a very comfortable hotel Suze of the room
- Shirley (10/5): great -
- Warren (8/5): More good value in Orange . - Modern and well appointed . Minimal noise . Clean rooms . Friendly and helpful staff. Secure parking . Difficult to find the accommodations, it’s hidden away on the corner of the hotel on a cross street . Smokers outside room , smoke wafts in .
- Nadine (9/5): -
- James (8/5): -
- Simone (1/5): - Apparently even though when I booked months ago and there was still two rooms left I received a phone call from one of the staff to say that I had been double books somehow and that I had no booking and I said I don't know how when I had booked there was still two rooms left after the one that I booked and they said yes sorry it's a glitch so every now I booked well before other people my booking was cancelled and I didn't get to stay As above with no offer of compensation just a basic apology saying they didn't know what happened and sorry but too bad
- Mohamed (8/5): Overall , very good place to stay. - The room was very neat and tidy. Enough space for family of 4. You could keep a small microwave. This will help sometimes to warm up food. Also. The single bed metres wasn’t that much comfortable comparing with double bed metres.
- Andrew (10/5): - Quiet and convenient location
Plenty of parking
Comfy spacious rooms
Food and amenities nearby
- vikram (7/5): -

- Debra (8/5): - Set apart from the pub.
Handy location.
Small amount of accommodation.
Spacious room for a motel A bit hard to locate reception -inside the pub. I ended up walking through cigarette smoke spaces, the gaming room and noisy pub before I found the small reception area.
- mandeep singh (10/5): - clean rooms
