- Valerie (1/5): Unacceptable hotel that could not provide the most basic of accommodations. - Clean The hotel had no room keys, none. Never have had this happen. Had to have a hotel staff escort to our room every time we left. Not only did the room require a room but so did the elevator. Absolutely unacceptable. Do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- P8050XAsandrat (6/5): Beds uncomfortable - This Hyatt place is in a good location, close proximity to university of Indiana. The room was clean. The bed was uncomfortable and the mattress at end of life with deep grooves. The pillows were lumpy, hard and balled up- not fluffy. The beds suggested Hyatt was trying to replicate a dorm experience for parents visiting their children in school. The hotel was quiet.

- Z4254AKbrittanys (8/5): Great Weekend Stay! - This was the perfect hotel for a quick weekend trip to Bloomington to visit with friends. Hotel is in an excellent location! Easy to walk to shops, restaurants, and campus. The rooms were very spacious and clean! Beds were comfortable too! Enjoyed the free breakfast in the morning as well! Would stay here again!
- Michael (7/5): All in all it was fine. - Staff was great. Location was perfect. Provide free deck parking....$16 seems a bit of a rip off. Provide a bar tender. Whats the use in having a bar without someone in attendance.
- colson1920 (8/5): Great hotel but be informed there is no microwave in room - This is a very nice hotel, with helpful staff and a decent breakfast. However, please be warned, there is no microwave in the room. There is one available on the floor by the elevator but this is so inconvenient to heat up take out food. I just don't get it. Virtually every hotel I have stayed in has a microwave.
- michellebC1049RF (10/5): Outstanding! - Outstanding breakfast buffet, beautiful and comfortable hotel, great beds. So convenient to IU. Definitely would stay again!

- JCC51 (1/5): - Wrong room (paid for one with 2 queen beds and we got one that was only one bed).
Poor water pressure in the bathroom.
Parking garage didn’t work (it kept trapping us and others in the parking garage).
Flashing ceiling strobe light all night kept us up.
- Helen (4/5): We were charged $550 a night and it definitely was t worth the money. The only good thing about this hotel was the locat - The location The staff failed to tell us at check in that the housekeeper only cleans every 3rd day and bring that we only stayed 3 nights we wouldn’t get out room cleaned. I called the front desk to let them know that we are out of towels and tissues and he was extremely rude with an attitude and told me that I would need to come down to the lobby to pick up towels.
The breakfast wasn’t great. Food was cold. No pastries. Coffee wasn’t hot. Coffee cups and lids needed to be refilled. The AC didn’t work well. In the middle of the night we all woke up sweating. There was something very wrong with the AC unit
- Sunshine16219475273 (4/5): Would not recommend - Nice people, hotel needs way more attention. As it goes, looks to be a no frills, college town hotel and that’s fine. But bare and exposed box springs with the tabs falling off and filthy shower grout and splatters of who knows what on room divider? Not okay.
- Danielle (9/5): Convenient, clean and comfortable. Would recommend. - Great location. Updated gym. Easy check in. I understand the hotel is in the heart of Blooming but it’s Bloomington not NYC or Chicago. I daily parking fee is high for a limited size garage approximately 50% of which isn’t covered. As you may have guessed it rained during our stay so we walked in the rain to get to our car.
- Kenneth (1/5): Horrible - The room size and hot water. Most amenities were unavailable, it was not that clean, the staff at night were rude, it was not comfortable, the breakfast made 2 people sick, there was a continual flash of light at night in the room that was very bright, the wifi was slower than it should have been, and there were drunks all over the place.
- 239rajab (4/5): Not great !!! - I had a very disappointing experience during my recent stay at this Hyatt property. While the room itself was clean and spacious, the overall service and facilities fell well below expectations—especially for a hotel of this caliber and price point.
Key issues:
The bedside lamp was broken, which made one of the bedside power outlets unusable.
The TV was not working properly and was flickering.
The swimming pool was not available for use.
Housekeeping was provided only after two days, which meant we had to reuse the same towels for two days.
I reported these issues on Day 1 and specifically requested that management reach out to me, but no one ever contacted me.
If I had known about these problems prior to booking, I would not have paid this rate. I’ve stayed at multiple Hyatt hotels in Ohio, Seattle, and Portland and have never had such issues—this was the first time I experienced such poor service at a Hyatt.
Ratings:
Room (Cleanliness): 10/10
Room (Spaciousness): 10/10
Hotel Staff: 3/10
Food: 4/10
Room Utilities (TV, Bedside Lamp): 2/10
Swimming Pool: Not usable
Clean rooms alone do not justify paying extra for “comfort” when basic amenities, maintenance, and responsiveness are lacking. This experience does not meet the standard I expect from Hyatt.
- EDWARD (8/5): - Staff, location charging an additional fee to park. High prices are bad enough but then fees, fees, fees, add insult to injury
- Susan (8/5): It was great if you don't mind the no privacy part in your room. - The Breakfast was fantastic. Lots to choose from. Very good. The location is great. Right in the middle of everything. The frosted bathroom door has no sound barrier whatsoever. The clear shower doors don't allow for anyone else to come in the bathroom while showering. Also the lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom. Between that and the doors, there's no privacy AT ALL. It's embarrassing even though I'm rooming with my family.
- Scott (7/5): - Location The blinds didn’t work
- Guide611456 (10/5): Great for Globalists - Staff is amazing and friendly! Great Globalist recognition (breakfast, valet parking). The club could be improved, the coffee smelled like the dairy wasn't clean, and black coffee tasted burnt. Overall, great stay. Fun atmosphere for the Final Four!
- susann (10/5): Exceptional service! Sarah at the front desk and the GM Jeremy ! Both need a raise!! - Everything was excellent!!
- María Dolores (10/5): -
- Daniel (9/5): Excellent property with excellent value - Staff was outstanding. Gym facilities great.
No ayudan, no resuelven y no tienen educación.
- Penny (8/5): Great room in prime location. - Every staff member we encountered was great. Front desk answered all my questions. The location is prime. Around food places and close to campus. Love the room layout with couch. Refills at breakfast could have been better. We did go at the later end items were gone.
- Ingrid (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and organized. There was a large event locally and the hotel was completely booked, but the staff managed everything efficiently and with a smile!
- whovilledc7 (2/5): Understaffed tired hotel - awful. Understaffed - clogged drains in room - parking lot full - poor food service in the morning. all that for surged pricing at $500/night
- Paul (9/5): Fine place to stay - Comfortable, location, clean, breakfast Entrance to parking garage
- Brian (8/5): - Room was nice. Spacious. Clean. Beds were good. Pillows were mid. Location is awesome. Breakfast included is a plus. It was decent. Pillows. A bit pricey for what you get.
- Kyleigh (1/5): - Staff called the police after they charged my card for a room I didn’t stay in
- Rusty (10/5): -
- Fernanda (8/5): -
- Patrik (6/5): - fire alarm blinking whole night + i get room near exhaust from garage so there was noise the whole night. I had to wear noise canceling headphones.
- Kristin (10/5): -
- cassiehS4717DM (10/5): Fantastic Hotel - Clean hotel in a great location. Hotel has great amenities. Rooms are spacious and accommodating. Walkable to restaurants and local attractions.
- Danielle (2/5): A severely understaffed hotel charging luxury rates but unable to deliver basic service. - This property is incredibly understaffed. I had to wait 15–20 minutes just to get a coffee because the one person working at the reception desk was also responsible for checking guests in, making coffee, and bartending.
Each time she began making the drink, another guest would arrive to check in, forcing her to stop and return to the front desk. This cycle repeated multiple times, and by the time she finally finished my drink, it was the wrong order, likely because she was juggling so many roles at once.
Several other guests were also waiting for coffee and drinks, and some eventually gave up and left due to the wait.
This level of staffing is simply unacceptable for a hotel charging premium rates. I was very disappointed with my stay. When paying over $800 per night, I expect a level of service and accommodations that match that price point, and unfortunately this hotel fell far short.
The hotel appeared to be severely understaffed, and it was nearly impossible to get assistance with basic issues. The HVAC system in my room was extremely loud, so loud that I couldn’t even hear the TV. I tried turning it off using the thermostat, but it continued running and never shut down.
I attempted to call the front desk using the phone in the room, but the phone didn’t work. I then had to walk down from the 7th floor to the front desk to speak with someone in person. The staff member there told me he was the only person working and that he did not know how to fix the HVAC system.
At $830 per night, guests should be able to expect functional room equipment, adequate staffing, and responsive guest services. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet the standards one would reasonably expect at this price.
- rovys2026 (2/5): They cancel you on the date of arrival on the most busy weekend - This is the worst experience I have arriving at any hotel. I booked this hotel with a premium credit card Sapphire reserve 5 months in advance with a decent rate at one of the busiest weekend at Bloomington - mom's weekend at IU. This is a non-refundable booking with everything already paid for. Due to work schedule, I did not arrive at the hotel until about 11pm. To my surprise, the hotel told me that they have no available room for me and asked me to sort it out with my booking agency (aka credit card) for refund or replacement hotel somewhere else. Really? You cancel on a paid booking on date of arrival? I asked for the manager on duty and the story gets worse. The manager (she) told me overbooking is common and last minute cancel or room not available happens all the time. SAY WHAT? I asked her room not available common for what reason? Her answer was it can be many reasons including overbooking, something major broke inside a room etc. I asked her what's the reason for our last minute cancellation. She said she could not disclose it and started to be rude. She told me that I was simply waste time talking to her and should move on to find hotel options with my credit card company. Even if this not their mistake (but I am sure it is), she shows no sympathy and never really apologize. On top of it, She said you did not book with them directly so its not their responsibility to contact the customer. She claimed they have notified my booking agency that same day so its not their problem anymore. Really? The same day? And its now not your problem?
I called Sapphire reserve and of course, they said they have no knowledge of it. They offered to help me find another replacement hotel but given that's the busiest weekend and 11:30pm at night, there is nothing but a motel 8 or holiday Inn express that is 30min drive away. While I was on the call, I went to google and tried to look for hotel and it showed Hyatt have 1 room available at rate close to $1000 a night which is way more than what I have paid. So was it really they made a mistake on their booking? some room become unavailable due to unforeseen situation? or they let someone took my room since I didn't show up until after 11pm since room rate was $1000 by then? You can be the judge. Regardless, I completely lose respect to this hotel and in some way to Hyatt hotel management. Whether they overbook, made a mistake or really something unforeseen happened, own up to it instead of basically telling the customer to leave. This reservation was paid in full. It should be honored. I plan to file a complain with Hyatt and gladly share my experience with others.
- Johnson (10/5): A nice place to stay right in downtown Bloomington with a nice breakfast for a good price. - This was a wonderful property, the room was very nice, breakfast was wonderful, and the location and price were in line with what we needed for this stay. If I had to pick something to note, the parking structure was VERY tight. The entrance was a bit of an adventure as a VERY steep uphill curve. It also was very small with limited spots for parking. But that said we got in and out just fine and found a parking spot.
- Pamela (8/5): - Great location to visit our student at IU! The staff was super friendly, and the room was nice and clean. The sink in the bathroom was slow draining. I would have also liked an extra blanket available in the room
- Nick (9/5): - It was a great stay in a fun part of town. The pillows. I need better pillows.
- Rusty (10/5): -
- Stacey (8/5): Great! - Convenient location very clean and great staff Water pressure in shower
- Cassandra (9/5): -
- Gary (9/5): -
- Griffin (5/5): big hassle trying to get refunded for extra charges - continent location we were charged 3 times, the last time being 2 months after our stay
- Sanjay (8/5): -
- Allysson (10/5): Greatfully great!!! - Everything was just great! Too cold, air cond. Wouldnt warm up enough.
- Safari44601179641 (10/5): Just what we expected, everything great. - a great location and friendly staff. breakfast was good and the people were kind. we used the spacious lounge to meet people and it was nice.
- Billie (9/5): -
- Susana (8/5): Excellent stay. Great location. Kind staff. - Shane, the concierge staff member “, was extremely sweet and informative. All the front staff was actually. Good hiring! One 5 lb Weight was missing otherwise gym very nice
- Bnizzle76 (10/5): Fabulous Hyatt Place - This Hyatt Place has been recently renovated, and was just lovely. Room 618 was very quiet and spotless. I liked that the parking garage was attached directly to the hotel by an elevator. The location was ideal- 10mins walk to Campus and the Sample Gates. Nick’s, FARM, and Janko’s Little Zagreb are 5-10mins walk. We were here for IU basketball, and will definitely be back.
- Broshears (1/5): Overcharged - Location to downtown I was double charged for my room and was told that it was my fault for using Booking.com. No one on site could help resolve the issue and no one has responded to me via the email that I was given.
- R1979BYbobb (8/5): Pleasantly Surprised - For such a reasonable price I didn't expect the quality of the experience. It started with the fruit infused water at the front desk and just continued to pleasantly surprise me.
- 745kirstenl (10/5): Easy reliable hotel - Great location, clean, good workout facility, great value for the date. Nice staff and eager to help. Totally walkable to most everything.
- Family (9/5): - Parking garage connected to hotel. Having to pay for parking. Should be included with the room. No microwave in the room.
- james (8/5): -
- Lauri (10/5): - Proximity to campus...easily walkable to campus, shopping on Kirkwood Entrance in to parking garage is kinda scary. Close to walls
- Stephen (10/5): Over all my stay was comfortable/ Parking garage was very nice and convenient- - The bed was comfortable Young teens loud making noise in hallway- No microwave in the room
- Ludovic (9/5): Lovely time there, would recommend for any stay in Bloomington - The room was extremely comfortable and clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful I think the breakfast offering was lackluster, or maybe it’s just my experience from my breakfast buffet in European hotels, where the choice was so diverse
Not here, unfortunately
- Elena (8/5): - Location, room. Breakfast time on Sundays is until 10:00 am, but the buffet was not fully replenished at 9:30 am. The hot breakfast food was good, though. Thank you!
- Robert (8/5): - Great location, clean, comfortable room. The price was outrageous. Granted, it was Homecoming weekend, but the price was obscene.
- Lisa (9/5): -
- Emilija (10/5): Close to Indiana University, had a nice breakfast. Staff that communicates well. - All well. Nothing that I can think of.
- Xuan (9/5): -
- darcie (3/5): Expensive for what you got. Called about block rooms being - Coffee Fridge did not work…took a day to come and look at. Had to pay $16 dollars a day to park at hotel.
- Carlos (9/5): Great, the place is comfy but the place could be more clean - The place looked great, loved the lights and the roo. Personal was amazing and very polite. There were some stains in the bathub, not really visible but made the use of the bathroom a bit unconfortable. Also the pillows were not very confy and I had no many options (e.g. soft, middle. Hard, very hard). Most of them were soft cushions.
- Kathryn (9/5): -
- Noel (6/5): - Bed not comfortable. We had a light blinking in our room all night.
- Becirovic (6/5): -
- ginger (8/5): -
- Megan (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): -
- Arlene (5/5): I slept ! - Close to work No restaurant open. Had to pay for parking which had free parking on the site? No bottles of water and when I asked for water they wanted to charge me! I paid 170$
- Chi Fang (8/5): -
- Joe (8/5): -
- Jeff (8/5): -
- Lena (8/5): - Convience of being close to everything you need Parking garage is horrible. Little to no room. Plan to park on street if you have a large SUV or truck.
- Charles (6/5): Clean room but no bath towels. TV and land line phone. did not work properly. Very sparse cold breakfast on Christmas D - Centrally located downtown.
- Wanderer54497623883 (10/5): Hyatt Place Bloomington IN - The place to stay - Welcoming hotel that is exceptionally clean, staff is fantastic, room was perfect (love the pillows), and location. Saw couples and families all having a great time during my time there.
- Allison (9/5): In the heart of it all, comfy rooms, friendly staff! - Beautiful views of the city, right downtown and a very comfortable room!
- Kellie (8/5): Enjoyed our stay - The rooms were spacious and comfortable and great location. Would really have liked a makeup mirror in the bathroom. The vanity was large and you really couldn't see in the mirror up close The bar area was barely open
- jimulaszek (10/5): Hyatt for the win! - Beautiful place, beautiful location. Nice and clean.
Water pressure could've been much better. Otherwise very positive experience.
- Stephanie (10/5): -
- Zlatina (10/5): -
- Mobile14062973862 (8/5): Typical Standards of Hyatt Place Brand-but very good customer service! - Customer Service: Excellent
Hotel: Older, but updated...
Would be nice to at least have an on-site "snack-coffee" bar that is similar to a 24/7 Business Meeting...would greatly improve business traffic ease!
- Susan (10/5): Great location to campus, restaurants and shops.Friendly service, clean, and comfortable - Reasonable rate included breakfast and parking. The little sitting areas in the lobby are perfect and the room was beyond clean. Breakfast from 7-10 am yet at 9:15 no more eggs or bacon was served.
- Guest (3/5): - Location Room wasn’t ready for an hour after check in time, staff was ignorant to guests.
- Noman Syed (10/5): - Good location Good breakfast
- Timothy (10/5): -
- Getaway31402469046 (4/5): Excellent - The stay was enjoyable and met our expectations fully. Parking garage was tight but not unmanageable. Overall, a good experience.
- Karyle (8/5): -
- Alling (9/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): WORTH EVERY PENNY - clean, polite staff and great location
