• Gl0balTraveller45 (6/5): A mixed bowl of beans.... - We recently stayed at La Marina Inn with my family for four days in March, and it was a mixed experience. On the positive side, the hotel and our room were clean, and the housekeeping staff was very helpful. We also enjoyed the food at George's Restaurant, which was truly terrific and a highlight of our stay. However, our experience was marred by significant issues with the front office staff. They displayed a concerning lack of customer service, demanding payment upfront and increased our bill by over $300 three times, citing incorrect website information. This made us feel held hostage—pay up or risk losing our rooms. Additionally, one of my friends had to rush back to the USA two days early due to a serious medical emergency with his daughter. Despite the situation, the front office did not offer even a partial refund, which felt very unaccommodating. The manager, Ana Laura, seemed to keep her team on edge, rarely offering a smile or greeting. Despite her exceptional English skills, she often pretended not to understand when we raised concerns. The restaurant staff were also somewhat slow; it took about 30 minutes to receive a simple dish. Furthermore, small amenities such as coffee in the room were lacking, and we had to repeatedly ask for an ironing board. Overall, while La Marina Inn has potential with its clean rooms and great food, the service experience left much to be desired. It felt more like a motel with a plantation ambiance rather than a welcoming hotel
• DENNIS (8/5): - A lovely surprise to find this smaller hotel with a good restaurant. Such a pretty area. Will be back!
• Jennifer (10/5): - The staff were very informative and friendly. The rooms were immaculate and the beds and linens were very comfortable. The restaurant is clean and serves up delicious meals at a reasonable cost. The addition of live entertainment is a nice bonus and the area that the in is located in is safe and walkable.
• Daniel (6/5): - There were a few shortcomings that one would expect of a 2-3 star hotel: - No elevator. Had to carry luggage to the 3rd floor. - Little ventilation in the bathroom - Insufficient number of power outlets in the room (at least for a family of four) - The pool is small and not heated. - They charge for your full stay during check in. But the real disappointment was to return to the room at 4:30 pm after being out all day and find it halfway serviced with sheets piled up on one of the beds, cleaning supplies outside the door and none of the cleaning people anywhere nearby. When I reported this to the receptionist, she asked that I understand that they had only two cleaning people and that they needed to take their break. It took about half an hour until the cleaning people showed up again to finish what they started. We had to wait until they were done to go in to shower and change and were late for our dinner. I think it’s understandable that one shouldn’t expect all the amenities of a more expensive hotel, but having the staff go on a break halfway through cleaning a room is just classless for any hotel.

The food in the restaurant (George’s) was excellent. We didn’t need to eat anywhere else. We will definitely stay there again if we return to San Jose del Cabo!

• 766noral (4/5): Don't waste your money at La Marina. - There were many things about this hotel that appealed to us at booking. It was small, close to the harbor, etc. However, our experience was disappointing. The place lacks some basic functionalities that generally are found in 2-3 star hotels -- in-room coffee maker, full length mirror, personal care items like soap bars, etc. The bigger problem was the lack of maintenance and that management didn't take things seriously. Our room smelled like sewage which was coming from the sink, and when we complained, they just said it was an old hotel in an old part of town. We booked directly from them for 8 nights but left after 4 due to the stench. They refused to refund part of our payment, despite the odor. The best thing we can say about La Marina is that the beds were very comfortable and the cleaning was thorough.

Far enough away from the main town it was quiet on time to go to bed for the next days activities. Front desk staff was terrific and extremely helpful and George’s restaurant inside the grounds served amazing locally sourced authentic Mexican food. We were sad to leave

The rooms overlooking the pool and Georges Restaurant which is great for a drink or meal. Room 202 (right over the open air restaurant) was impeccably clean and well furnished. I would stay here again in a minute.

The swimming pool is clean and there are lounge chairs around it. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, but George’s is onsite and the food is EXCELLENT! Both the front desk staff and George’s staff are super friendly and they all speak English for those of us with minimum Spanish in our vocabulary. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will come back!

Now George has gone, and my Larry too... For us, that place in Mexico was special, and will always have a special place in our hearts. Two months ago, I traveled to that very special place, but this time without Larry, who was my Husband, and a Dear Friend of Our George. Well... The Marina Inn, will always have a special place in our Hearts, Specially in Larry's Heart and his beloved Friend. Well... anyways... sorry since Im an elderly Lady that is not an expert in the internet fields. :) This time, I flew again, and visited the Marina Inn. Just wanted to remember all those nice memories we had in that nice place, and, everything was doing fine until the waiter told me that: if I write a positive review in TripAdvisor, he would give me a free "George's Margarita" for free... hmmmm... I thought... Really? Apparently the Manager... her name is Ana Laura Mesa, has told her staff, to tell the costumers this... I mean... Come on. All those years in that special place, and then this... anyway.... Just Saying. Larry and George, both are not longer with Us. but... where is trust? -

Beautiful gardening too. It’s smaller and more comfortable in feeling than some of the grandiose hotels, which are not my style. I highly recommend this place. If we could have asked for one thing it didn’t have , it would have been a small fridge. But they do have ice.

Nice pool area. Excellent dinning at George’s restaurant. If you are fishing the La Playita fishing fleet is 50 yards down the road making for easy mornings getting on the water. Would stay here again for sure.

The rooms are spacious and so comfortable and stylish. The on site restaurant is excellent. We had breakfast as well as dinner and loved it.

We also got some free drink tickets at check in which was a really nice touch. We stopped here one night after a week at a resort and I have to say I preferred our one night here! Will definitely return if we are in the Cabo area again.

The rooms were absolutely SPOTLESS, some of the best room servicing I have ever experienced. Maybe most importantly, the A/C in our room was plenty strong. Additionally, the restaurant was delicious. Everything we had from there was great. The office staff, restaurant staff, and housekeeping staff were all so friendly and helpful. Ubers into downtown San José del Cabo were very cheap and easy to call, and the ride into town is only about 10 minutes. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The hotel is across the street from the beach in La Playita with a great restaurant, a swimming pool, well appointed rooms and excellent service . Our clients booked the hotel for their wedding room block and they took over the hotel for their guests . The entire weekend was smooth and they were made to feel Welcomed and important . The staff and management went above and beyond and our clients were over the moon . I highly recommend this hotel for groups and anyone wanting a great stay at a fabulous price . • Susan (10/5): - We went to Cabo to celebrate my sons 14th birthday and he wanted to stay close to the marina. I let him choose the hotel. I messaged them to let them know it was a birthday celebration and they were amazing. When we arrived the staff had giant balloons that said “happy birthday” and even waited past their shift to sing to my son when we entered the room. They had a huge plate of chocolate covered strawberries for him. His favorite! They upgraded us to a beautiful room with a sitting area and kitchenette. Every attention to detail was great. The entire staff was polite and personable and treated my son like Royalty. The food at “George’s restaurant “ was great. Some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had! There was live music a few nights and that provided a lovely atmosphere. The hotel is walking distance to the a Beach club, which has a lovely swimmable warm beach with no waves, and we enjoyed being able to be in the ocean. The views of the sunset from the 3rd floor were priceless and by the end of the week we felt like family. I’ve been to Cabo maybe 30 times or more in the past few decades and this was by far my favorite boutique hotel! I honestly can’t say enough about this little gem in the marina. My son was so happy and his birthday was truly one he will never forget! Thank you to the staff - you were all amazing! I highly recommend this hotel and would go back next week if I could! The light through the obscure glazed door did not disturb me and the night time noise was acceptable for Christmas week. Food was excellent in the restaurant and the menu was worthy of exploration. • P3771KJbrandonc (2/5): NO COMPASSION, GREEDY HOTEL. - When we showed up to La Marina Inn we were informed that a category 3 hurricane was heading right towards Cabo. We booked months ago for 6 nights but only stayed 1 night due to the severity of the storm that was approaching. My wife and I felt very uncomfortable to stay at La Marina Inn let alone Cabo so we checked out early and left Mexico. This hotel showed NO COMPASSION for us and did not refund us a penny! $1200 means alot more to a low income family than it does to a popular boutique hotel at a tourist destination. DO NOT STAY HERE!! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE THEIR PROPERTY DUE TO A NATURAL DISASTER, WHICH NOONE CAN CONTROL OR PREDICT, UNBELIEVEABLE!!
• ALFREDO (10/5): - El hotel es bonito y las habitaciones cómodas, agradables y muy limpias. Si se alquila un coche el centro de San José del Cabo queda muy cerca.

• Ian (10/5): - Small friendly hotel, restaurant, food and staff were friendly and excellent really enjoyed the pool thanks so much guys
• Kathy (8/5): - La Marina has really upped their guest experience since the former owner passed (RIP George!). Staff was kind, attentive, and very nice.
• 140sunnyj (10/5): The staff is so welcoming and the hotel is clean and charming. It’s the only place we have been to in the last few years - It is a well kept secret! The service and Margaritas are the best in all of Cabo and we have been to Cabo more than 30 times and at the most popular locations in many price ranges. Mediel took such good care of us and Charlie is an amazing mixologist! . It is perfectly situated for fishing and the grounds are exceptionally clean and charming.
• Mercedes (8/5): Cute hotel - Flew into Cabo and stayed for a night here before we headed to La Paz. Hotel was cute, very small though. We were on the second floor & had to lug our two huge suitcases up the stairs with no help from front desk/bell hop, so that sucked. There is no elevator. The pool is nice and we had it all to ourselves for the night. Room was comfy, roomy and clean. We had breakfast at the restaurant on site George’s before we headed to La Paz- food was delicious & reasonably priced.
• Kevin (4/5): - Charged a higher rate for the room provided, had to point out their own published rates to receive correct room.
• Carrie (8/5): - Quaint boutique motel. Absolutely a must to do the beach club, amazing private beach.
• Noelle (6/5): - I expected something much nicer for the price.
• Glenn (10/5): - Beautiful! Rural, native people., away from hustle & bustle of the tourist corridor.
• Karina (8/5): - Property was clean and good. The problem was the pressure in the shower, it was extremly hard to the point it hurt your skin. I feel that they also need to divide the pool area and the restaurant a bit maybe some type of gazebo.
• Debra (10/5): - Very nice quaint hotel near fishing. The staff was wonderful. The place was very well maintained and clean! We enjoyed it immensely.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - This place is way over selling itself. It’s a motel, nothing more nothing less. A view would compensate but not even that . At $100 it would be reasonable value, but at some of the prices they are asking it’s a complete.rip off. To advertise themselves as an “upscale boutique” destination, in the CABO Living magazine, is embarrassing. (What was stated on the menu as roasted potatoes with breakfast, came out as a microwaved triangle of potato from the freezer at the grocery store)
• Amy (10/5): - Very clean, cute, delicious restaurant. Not much in walking distance but loved staying here.
• Sherri (10/5): - The staff is awesome. They helped me find spa services and book a last minute excursion. They even decorated my room for me! It was so sweet. The proximity and discount with the hotel next door makes for a great quiet place to stay.
• Brad (4/5): - No coffee in room and unfriendly front desk- they have a big AMEX sticker on their door but then told me I couldnt pay with AMEX- the extra person charge for our son and daughter made this one of the most overpriced hotels I've ever stayed in.
• Rosoleen (10/5): - Was very confortable and quiet. Lovely staff.
• Carol (4/5): - Our room had a mildewy smell that they tried to cover with disinfectant. We wanted to leave the first night, they told us it was nonrefundable. I never book non refundable. There are no hairdryers, fridges, coffee in room. The restaurant is pretty good and they had great live music Sunday morning. Staff are very nice and hardworking. Its in a very out of the way place and the cabbies fleece you on the way back from town. Beds are good but very high for short people!

• Shou (8/5): - Walking distance to beach, small but nice restaurants, beautiful cove with docks, quiet environments. Staffs knew little about the history of the village, such as the light house (closed now) 0.5 miles up on thehill, a 19th century church over looking the town, docks, w mountains at distance.

• Paul (6/5): - El check in y check out fue complicado porque no hay personas 24 horas. Llegamos pasando las 10 y la recepción estaba cerrando. Nos fuimos antes de las 8 y no había nadie en recepción
• Deborah (6/5): - Thought we were getting a pooside room. Our room opened to the restaurant and next to the office/ hotel entrance whille it looked like there were poolside rooms a available. It was a bummer.
