Guest Reviews
- Ana (10/5): - Everything was great.
- Marc (8/5): - Room was clean. With two queen beds, two chairs rather than one would have been better. Chairs outside, a plus. Furniture could be updated. Overall, it was good value.
- jon (8/5): - Comvenient to downtown
- Lawton (6/5): - Cramped and furniture very worn, check in very slow, was a power outage but not an excuse.
- Marie (10/5): - Beds very comfy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and very quiet. Worked out perfectly for what we needed. Would stay again when in the area
- Norm (8/5): - Our stay was great overall
- Randall (10/5): It’s all you really need. - Clean, comfortable, quiet. All you need really. Would definitely stay again.
- LU (10/5): - Staff is very friendly. The room is very clean and the parking is very convenient.
- Susanna (8/5): - Our stay was very good. The room was clean and comfy and very quiet. The room was cleaned each day to a high standard. The beds were a little hard and the pillows wereca little uncomfortable. They could use some new pillows. Overall it was a great place to stay and very reasonable. We would stay there again.
- prithivirajpandian (8/5): - The hotel is in a prime location, easily accessible to everything around the area, which was very convenient. The property also has parking space, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout my stay.
That said, since the property is a bit older, I did notice a few insects in the room, including a spider. The price also felt slightly on the higher side considering the limited facilities available.
Despite these points, it was still a comfortable stay, and I would say it’s a good option if you’re looking for a convenient location with friendly service.
- John (10/5): - Very clean, very quaint very friendly staff would definitely return
- Margaret (8/5): - It was good value for our money. We appreciated Brooklyn’s manner and assistance.
Thank you.
- Beth (8/5): - Internet is not great . Otherwise room is good
- France (8/5): - Overall good accommodations
- ROY (8/5): - As a senior found the toilets quite low.
- PAUL (10/5): - The room was clean, quiet and staff were friendly location was good. Due to the high humidity the air conditioning smelt a little musty. But it wouldn’t prevent us from staying again.
- douglas (8/5): - Check in was great. The room was renovated and they forgot about the T.V. the leg was broken on it they had black tape on it.the bed mattress felt like you were sleeping on the box spring. Over all it was just good and i got what I paid for. The staff at the counter was great. Ty
- Liam (10/5): - 5
- Gabe (8/5): - We really liked the courtyard feature of the property. Good value for the price and the slippers were a cute and useful addition
- Craig (8/5): - Challenging to find the entry spot. Lack of tv channel choice, particularly for small children. Beds are very good. Large rooms. Good fridge.
- Shufeng (10/5): - The Motel is clean and safe. A lot of dinning options within 10 minutes walking distance. The Pho place is good if you need something Asian when you stay. It is about 10 minutes drive to Ferry dock. 2 minutes drive to Superstore if you need to bring some lunch to your hikes.
- ANN (6/5): - The property was clean but we booked it because it was listed with a resteraunt and bar onsite. The resteraunt and bar have evidently been closed for years! When we have been driving all day, we don't like to have to drive again to go out to eat.
- Parampreet (8/5): - Good location,
- Pedro (8/5): - Room was large and comfortable
- Robert Troy (8/5): - Great value for the rate. Clean, comfortable, and very spacious.
- Nicola (10/5): - Comfortable space
- Nais (10/5): Excellent place - Have stayed at Talbot Inn many times, and have never been disapointed. Excellent place to stay
- Lise (10/5): - Its a nice affordable palce quiet the staff is friendly but staff is not always at the desk so sometimes i have to wait
- Joan (10/5): - Convenient and clean.
- MICHELLE (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable. The room was spacious. I liked the inner courtyard parking right outside my room door. The front desk clerk was great.
- Kathy (8/5): - Nice quiet inn. Not particularly central or close to amenities.
- Dev (10/5): Peaceful Place - Excellent place for a peaceful sleep after a hectic day.
- Emily (6/5): - Staff not accessible in the morning, can't ger ice in the morning to get on to the road. Fridge freezing up my vegetables but not my ice packs. No freezing compartment in the fridge. Bathroom is clean, good vanity.
- Raymond (8/5): - I come and stay here every year around this time I do like the facility and it is priced right.
This year I found the beds to be so uncomfortable. It is enough to make me consider booking elsewhere for my next trip in the fall and spring.
If they were to replace the mattresses I would like to here from them. It is the only way I will continue using this facility.
Thanks
- Ashley (8/5): - It was a lovely, reasonably priced motel. The man at the counter (I assume the owner) was very welcoming and helpful. It had a large bar fridge and microwave which was useful. The room was clean and tidy. The only downside I found was that the mattress was quite hard.
I forgot how much nicer it is to stay at a motel than a hotel because it is much less tiresome to unpack the car since the parking spot is right outside the room. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and stay there again.
- Rashida (6/5): - No sleep the first night. Next day the staff was accommodating in changing rooms from the noisy construction crew that were occupying the rooms around us. Also, adding dark curtains would help keep the bright light from coming through the blinds.
On the plus side, beds were comfortable, plenty of shampoo and sleepers provided along with coffee maker, fridge and microwave.
- Mary Anne (6/5): - The air conditioning was not working well, the phone system was not working at all. Reception lady was very great though...
- Luciana (8/5): - The room was very clean and quiet.
- Nesa (8/5): - Spacious affordable and quiet the only thing I would say was maybe take out the old couch and put a newer one in or just leave the couch out
- Verified traveler (4/5): Noises - The stay would have been very good except for the noise. Not sure what it was, but the clanging continued throughout the night and morning giving very little sleep
- Vanessa (10/5): - Good stay
- April (10/5): over night stay - My stay was amazing and I will recommend it to my friends.
Thank you!
- Amine (10/5): - Nice and clean
Good price
- Lhaze (10/5): - Nice place, staff were nice.
- Lisa (6/5): - The room was very clean and cozy. The bathroom was also very clean. Minor issues with the water tap and shower feature in that you had to pull really hard to get the shower part to come on. Maintenance should really turn the water heater down several degrees, as I burned my hand when turning on the shower at 1st, as well as the tap in the sink, which was not marked with hot vs cold.
The biggest problem was the heater/ air conditioning unit under the window which was very loud when the compressor came on. Everything rattled. Turning it down was not an option as the thermostat was finicky and in need of batteries. Turning the unit off just changed it to hot. Very hot. It got up to 86 degrees. So it was a toss up between cool and super noisy, or quiet and uncomfortably hot. Maintenance needs to pay attention when inspecting rooms, as I'm sure I'm not the only one with these complaints. Other than that, the staff was friendly and the property was tidy.
- Teresa (4/5): - The water varied in the bathroom sink. I wasn't able to use the bathroom sink on Monday. No matter what I did, it was scalding hot. The heating and cooling was extremely poor. It was uncomfortably warm. When I lifted the grate to adjust it, there were 2 options, low and high. It was hot in the low setting. The ice machine was in the check-in office. You can't get ice when the door is constantly locked. I wasn't about to call maintenance to unlock the door just so I could get ice.
- Royann (8/5): - Nice
- Kerriann (8/5): - The property was very clean the checkin was easy. The bed was also comfortable. Sam at the front was very friendly so was Marilyn at the time of check out. It’s a small community so don’t expect the ritz. The accommodations were quite acceptable in my opinion. Lots of restaurants close by if you want authentic Mexican you will find that down there as well as Lebanese and lots more.
- Brent (2/5): - Rude checkin
- Nesa (10/5): - Brooklyn, who works there great help I had to speak to her a few times before and she was great room was big clean. We were only there for a night, but we’re definitely gonna come back and request the same room.
- Gabriela (6/5): - .
- James (10/5): CLEAN - Clean, comfortable, huge room, and friendly service.
- Joydeep (6/5): - The room was nice, but the bathroom was filthy and so were the towels
- Stu (10/5): - Friendly and quick at check in. Room were spacious and nice and clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Thanks again - Thanks again for the stay.
- Jenni (10/5): - Extremely clean room, spacious and safe feeling. Very affordable for what it is, would definitely stay again - super comfy bed!
- RUBELAIN (10/5): - Neat and tidy
- chris (8/5): - The bathtub did not have a plug so we phoned down to the desk to ask for one and were informed that it was hotels policy to not have plugs because baths were unsafe and people might hurt themselves. The staff member we spoke to was in no way helpful and offered no apologizes. The back of the bathroom door which opened up beside the toilet was not cleaned thoroughly and was covered in what appeared to be splatters of liquid. Lastly we were on 2nd floor and had to go down a set of exterior stairs that were not salted, sanded and were smooth ceramic tile. very hazardous. The room was very clean spacious and all appliances worked well. Beds were comfortable and the hotel was very quiet.
- Dale (8/5): Desk Location - Overall it was good. The only "issue" was the placement of the desk. It was stuck in a corner of the room - no light and could not watch TV while at the desck
- Catherine (10/5): - N/A
- Verified traveler (10/5): Short Perfect stay - Great value for the money and the shower pressure of the water was excellent
- Joshua (10/5): - Clean, quiet, cute building. Great value.
- Victor (8/5): - Good overall
- Ralph (8/5): - Quiet and clean.
Staff is pleasant.
Wifi was good.
No complaints - very good value and close to everything.
- Emily (6/5): - The hotel is cute, love the tile and the rooms are adequate. Though, I did have a broken deadbolt in my room on the first floor. Staff was very friendly/helpful and switched me rooms. I did find it strange that there was no night staff. I have never stayed in a hotel like that so unsure if that is a normal procedure for smaller places. I also found it strange that the balcony was a shared balcony between all the upper floors. I was not warned about that, after having the broken deadbolt in the previous room I felt very anxious about the second door into my room. Though having a view was nice, i would have happily stayed on the bottom floor. I would recommend just informing people about it first as I guess it is a fire exit but it was not what I had signed up for. The bed was very firm not my style. Location could not be beat for me. However, i might think twice about staying because I really didn't like the bed.
- Mazin (10/5): - Awesome 👏
- manish (2/5): - It was so stinky , i left the place after an hour
- Royann (8/5): - Convenient
- Kenneth (8/5): - Clean and pleasant, had everything I needed. Only issue was the wifi kept dropping out.
- Nais (10/5): - Overall ok, but A/C or heating unit extremely noisy overnight, so kept waking us up
- Gillian (6/5): - The property has been renovated but it is still low budget with a high cost. The room was well kept but the sink did not drain properly, toilet was loose and shower tap did not work properly.
- Jennifer (10/5): Comfortable and safe - I had a onnderful experience staying at the Talbot Trail. For starters the young woman at the front desk was extremely helpful and recommended the most wonderful restaurants; two of which i tried and both were fantastic! She was able to accomodate my last minute request to stay a second night and was there to assist promptly when i had an issue with one of my door cards. The courtyard felt safe and i was able to enjoy sitting out on the provided chairs and enjoy one of the last warm evenings of the year.
- Marie (6/5): - Room was good for the price.
Phone light was flashing when we checked in and there was no dial tone so could not stop it. Pulled out the plug and plugged it back in when we checked out. Light started flashing.
- Robert (10/5): - We had a wonderful time, the property was very busy, nearly full, and had made us really excited by offering an amazing upgrade on our arrival.
I’ve noticed some reviewers have dissed the hotel due to the parking, high valet fees, etc.
All I can say is I was not forced to pay a bellman, they told me exactly how to find a luggage cart when I asked, and directed me to low cost off site parking (half price - $35) that was served by a hotel shuttle that ran every 5 minutes!
I will certainly plan to return!!
- kristy (4/5): - Weird set up. We were only offered 1 key card to a locked hallway where our room was. There is no staff onsite at night or in the mornings. Staff had to come to our room to get TV to work. I could not get any hot water out of taps to start with. They need to post some directions on how to operate tub taps. Stairs to upper hallway very steep and shallow. Long term guests here and there. No access to ice machine when staff leaves.
- Dan (8/5): - Good location and good price
- orlando (8/5): - Clean, very large room, good bed mattress
- Virginia (10/5): - The room was large and very clean. Convenient parking right infront of our door! And the staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Will definitely return
- Jennifer (10/5): - We always stay here when visiting my family. Clean rooms, excellent shower, comfortable beds and a good tv, all at an excellent no-hassle price.
- RON (10/5): - Very affordable.
- cary del (10/5): - Big rooms
- Mahendra (8/5): - Good clean property.
- shuming (2/5): - lots of flies.
- Henriette (10/5): - I traveled to Leamington for a funeral and stayed 1 night here. The room was clean and comfortable. I arrived later evening and check-in process was smoothly handled. The front desk clerk was very accommodating. My room was clean and spacious. Highly recommended. Will absolutely stay at this hotel again.
- Daniel (10/5): - The room was very big and spacious.
- Raymond (10/5): - I have used the Talbot Trails Inn three times prior and have always enjoyed how clean and quiet the rooms are.
- Ching-Ying (10/5): - The staff is friendly and responsible. I am happy to stay 1 night here.
- Beryl (8/5): - The Talbot Trail Inn and Suites was quite satisfactory for our needs. Could park right outside room which was on first floor as I have to use a cane to walk, it was nice not to have to do stairs. Didn't like the fact that they felt they needed to post rules against taking towels, etc but if that had been happening, fair play, I guess!
- Lisa (8/5): - The thermostat was a bit finicky in our room, but other than that, I was super impressed with the room for the money. I would stay there again.
- JoAnn (8/5): - Front desk staff was extrenely helpful. Delightful experience
- Howard (10/5): Great stay - Great stay here and very pet friendly.
Welcomed very warmly and friendly.
- daphne (10/5): - Good service
- Tara (6/5): Won't stay again - Receptionist did not explain why a deposit was required when not paying by credit card. Room decor is ok but the bed is a slab of concrete - horribly uncomfortable. Scalding hot water out of the cold tap. Too noisy.
- Rebecca (10/5): A great budget friendly stay - Very clean with basic amenities. The staff were friendly, and check-in and check-out were easy. Would definitely stay here again and happily recommend to other travelers. Within walking distance of great restaurants.
- Amanda (8/5): - Rates were excellent and check in process was very easy. Our room had a slight ammonia smell to it but we got used to it. Room was clean, bed was decently comfy. All around a good value for a low rate. Would stay here again.
- Teresa (10/5): - Very affordable.
- Linda (8/5): - No problems
- David (10/5): - Cool upstairs and downstairs rooms, unique building.
- Akshay (10/5): - Nice, clean, budget friendly. Property is showing its age on its walls. But nothing that impacts one’s stay.
