Guest Reviews
- Bill (1/5): The property should be condemned. - Nothing. No staff were there to check us in; buzzer at desk didn't work; phone calls didn't go thru; attendent finally came about 45 minutes later (6 pm). Room was despicable -- didn't take our clothes off; use the shower, etc. it was so dirty. Window did not lock (first floor room). Someone set off the smoke alarm at 5:30 am.
The only reason we stayed was that no other accommodations were available because of a state pool tournament at the convention center taking every room for miles. Parking lot pot-holed. No toilet paper. Everything as noted above.

- Andron (1/5): Never Again!!! - Bathroom was not clean at all. Dirty ring around the bath mat. Used soap on the sink, shower curtain needs replaced to but I guess this is one of those you get what you pay for… Bed is uncomfortable, pillows too and just small. And the smell of wet dog. And this after I switch rooms cause the first one was the same and the heat didn’t work. The random furniture and cars on flat tires should’ve been my first clue lol
- Zachary (3/5): Unpleasant experience, will not be returning. - There is not much I could say I liked about my stay, unfortunately. The room was not very clean at all, I found bugs in the bed, and the room is clearly not very well taken care of. It was clear any repairs, maintenance, and cleanup were done very poorly. It was also clear that these things were not done to improve guest experience, but instead done as cheaply as possible. I’m sorry to say the room was dirty and not well put together. I found things like hair, bugs, and random debris through the entire room.
- Diann (5/5): Went for family reunion. - Very near Cracker Barrel. Friendly staff. Great AC. Only one chair in the room. No small table. Paint on the door peeling.
- Earl (2/5): Only stay here if your other option is sleeping in your car. - The gentleman who checked me in was very professional The room was very dirty and the mattress was broken with a large sag in the middle. The bathroom was all very worn out or broken. If I had any other choice I would have left.

- Carmen (5/5): - It was quite The smell
- Yalanda (10/5): - Very friendly staff and welcoming
- Richard (6/5): Will probably not stay there again. - Close to restaurant, not much else. Somewhat dirty (floors, carpet pieces).
- Danielle (1/5): - Nothing. Was awful. Everything. I can't believe they actually rent that room out to people
- Brian (8/5): - I had to ask to change rooms to get good internet. They did so. My first room had not good internet. The other one did :)
- aprileO6928WR (2/5): Stay Away from the Rodeway!!!! - This has been the worst experience of my life. Nevermind the fact that I’m in between apartments and kind of stuck. This was the cheapest (and I don’t mean least expensive), I mean the cheapest place to stay I’ve ever been. I’ve requested something clean my room multiple times but they never came. I cleaned the pigpen myself. It was disgusting. They changed my bed twice in the 4 weeks I’ve stayed. I finally asked for bedding myself to change. They are the rudest, most inconsiderate people you can meet. All I know is I look weekly for another place that doesn’t cost as much. If you’re going to stay in a hotel in Canton on a budget, go to the Red Roof Inn. You’ll be treated much better than the trash at the Rodeway
- Lola (2/5): - Terrible
- vaughn (3/5): - nothing how dirty it was
- Cherlyn (2/5): Disgusting property - I would never recommend this place. It was dirty and trash everywhere. Had transient people living there. Broken down cars all over property. Rooms had bed bugs. DO not stay there!
- Melissa (4/5): Booking pictures msleading - The room was in very poor condition. Bathroom was somewhat clean but sheets were clean. The floor needed cleaned and furniture wiped down. Gap under the door so a lot of noise and cool air seeped out. People living there and partying outside rooms so very loud.
- James (6/5): -
- McGhee Sr (1/5): - The property is not in a bad area! Everything is bad. The lady at the front desk was rude and they and they modify availability by how much money it looks like you mak. I got sick the first 3 days because it smells like like dogs and dog fart rat droppings and cat pee!! They are money hungry thieves! Water pressure bad, clogged toilet, and rat dropping.
- Kathleen (2/5): - I hated everything about it & want my money back!!! Was dirty, unsafe, lied on the website & used other pictures of other Rodeway Inn's to get people to book a room there. nothing what the website showed. yellow stains on towels provided, pubic hair in the dirty bedding. grease/ food all in the room & phone. 1 working outlet. AC did not work. bathroom was dirty & disgusting, mold in the toilet. vent in bathroom filled with dirt & grime that when vent turned on it sprayed out dirt particles that was in the vent. window curtain was cut up ***I have pictures*** noted also that in December of 2024 a police officer & another person died from gun shots there. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone & it should be taken off the internet or Expedia site. Total scam & takes your money. I NEVER did stay there & opted to stay in a different hotel to sleep with clean bedding, no bed bugs or pubes in the bed. Even the owner of this place told me its not a normal motel like all the others DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE EVEN FOR MY DOG!!! TOTAL SCAM!!!
- Joshua (2/5): - The whole room was not cleaned. Sticky, dirty floors. Toilet did not work. I doubt the sheets were clean. Smell was horrible. Dried dog poop in the carpet. No blanket. I have bug bites all over my body. Shower was disgusting. Someone needs to report this place.
- Antonia (1/5): Bad -
- Hunter (2/5): - This place was a mess. It is cheaper for a reason. Upon arrival to the room, my wife and I had to clean the entire room ourselves due to dirt and dust all over the entire room. There was hair all over the shower. The shower head was broken and didn’t work properly. All of the mirrors in the room were filthy and the microwave and refrigerator looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. This place is a motel so the door leads outside. The problem with our room was you could see through the cracks of the door to the outside. I pushed the extra recliner chair against the door for safety due to “strange” people hanging out in the parking lot at night time. To make matters worse, we were told check-out was at 11 AM. The morning we left, the front desk staff was pounding on our door at 9 AM to go check out. I would give this place zero stars if I could but you get what you pay for literally lol
- Adam (2/5): Don’t do it - The doors don’t even lock or have a safety figure that isn’t broken. There is no comforters just stained sheets. The pillows look flat and pillow cases stained and gross. The bathroom was dirty and toilet was gross. The bathroom door didn’t shut. Was told at check in make sure when taking a shower to shut the bathroom door or the fire alarm would go off. Homeless guys standing out the check in asking for money or a room.
The biggest issue is we found two bed bugs on the wall side of the bed.
- Coralyn (1/5): Bad - Buds
- Sanchez-hernandez (1/5): The worst facility ever, I lost money after deciding to move to a different facility on day one. - The location was ok. Rooms in general were nasty; a lot of loud noise coming from all directions; linen was dirty and smelly; marijuana smell was very strong; animal's excrement on the floor. In general it feel like staying in the projects.
- Katherine (4/5): - While the front desk assistant was amazing and understanding, the room was not good. Felt very uneasy and heat outside was high and room was very warm and uncomfortable.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (5/5): Passable -
- Proctor (7/5): Good -
- Blanton (1/5): They worst placed I’ve ever stayed - Nothing Dirty toilet seat literally dead skin cells covering it. Dirty wash clothe in the tube. Broken dresser, stands, and bed board. No screen in window to air it out due to smelling like cigarette smoke after going in 3 rooms to find one that didn’t smell of cigarettes. We literally stayed long enough to sleep a couple hours to go home. The worst place for 100+ dollars I’ve ever stayed in. We stayed in places that coast 70.00 that was better then this place.
- Stacy (1/5): I was very disappointed I had no Blakey’sto cover up with, the dresser drawer was broke off and hanging like if we had k - It looked so bad they had underwear lying around outside just very dirty!! The picture didn’t match the room the dresser drawers were broken and juts off and hanging they had no blankets they had only sheets to cover up with! And also the front desk lady was weird telling my husband when he takes a shower to make sure you shut the door!!
- Chyvaun (2/5): - Staff stalks women. Asked not to be disturbed but received several knocks on the door a day at all different hours asking if we wanted housekeeping. Felt very unsafe. Housekeeping male sat in an empty construction room across the lane from us, in the shadows of the corner looking out the window and watched everything we did when outside and when we were coming and going. "Guests" are living there smoking drugs, cigarettes and cooking on hotplates. Fire alarm system going off constantly. Police knocking on doors and patrolling the lots frequently. No refund when requested. Rude male owner who ran front desk. Horrible and hostile customer service from him. Save your money and spend it elsewhere! Trash all over yard and highway traffic sounds 24/7. Ants crawling all over bathroom floor at night. Both of us had a very hard time breathing after using heating/cooling system and it reaked of burning hair when starting up. Even allergy meds didn't help.
- Sergio (8/5): Very good - Not working tv
- Brandy (2/5): - He told me it's non-smoking as soon as I hit the room I could smell cigarettes the refrigerator buzzes louder than the TV is there's hairs and the bathtub there's pee all over the back of the toilet as if this room's never been cleaned there's a junkie blanket that's not even a warm comforter the heater doesn't work right blowing out cold air this place is a dump and it's very unsafe the cops are here all the time for drug busts prostitution rings some guy murdered somebody and they had the whole area shut down just a month ago
- Joseph (1/5): Bad - It was a place to sleep after a long drive in a blizzard It’s clearly a no tell motel but stains on the chair no blanket other than a jail style blanket. No toilet paper no soap. Had to stand outside in the cold to check in. Would not recommend!
- Eric (8/5): - Key card did not work so I was outside in freezing cold 5-7 minutes and had to return to office to get new key. Hot water in shower was awesome as was heater. Several recent shootings and bullet dents on a room in the 200 section are concerning. Staff was very nice.
- Samantha (6/5): - The location was nice lots of restaurants and shopping near by. The hotel is falling apart and to many hookers and drug dealers.
- Cathy (8/5): Will stay here again - It is located in a busy area. There are many options for food and fuel.
- Gina (6/5): - Bolted lock didn’t work. Being female and alone, I didn’t feel safe. TV remote control didn’t work. Had to plug/unplug television
- Sharon (1/5): Bad felt very unsafe. - No breakfast The locks on the door were broken. The room had a bad smell. Portions of the room were missing.
- Patrick (4/5): Disappointing -
- Donald (4/5): - Internet down at check in. Had to pay cash.
No daily linen service.
No phone in room.
I traveled alone. My wife wouldn’t have stayed there.
Good news—there were no bedbugs to be seen.
- Timothy (3/5): Won't do this again! - The tv worked! Hot water! about it! Bedding was stained, mattress was terrible, they sprayed for bugs but didn't clean afterwards so everything smelled like spray! spray didn't work...left the cockroaches I killed for them to find! And the bug bite on my face indicates they weren't the only ones I shared the room with! Just not a great experience! Woke at 4:45 in the morning to find a guy washing my tire with urine, (if you know what I mean) on Saturday the 5th of Oct. So yeah, quite the fun weekend! NOT!
- Timothy (5/5): Passable -
- 856colleenc (2/5): awful place - Never again, this is the dirtiest place I've ever stayed if it wasn't 9:30PM we would have left. The walls looked like grease was dripping down, the shower had clumps of hair in it, the floors are worn out. The photos are very old as the room looks nothing like it. Oh and when we got up in the morning two cop cars in the parking lot. Literally brushed our teeth and we were gone.... horrible place
- George (2/5): The hotel was the worst part of the weekend - Location Wasn’t very clean or updated
- Samantha (10/5): - It was great place the people around you are nice and so is the staff
- Samantha (10/5): - The staff is friendly and helpful.
- Samantha (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful
- Timothy (8/5): - The room doesn't give it to me I had a weak spot in the floor where I almost fell into it. The air conditioner leaked inside of the room which kept the floor wet.
- Samuel (2/5): - Due to area storms, all other hotels were sold out. This was, perhaps, the worst hotel I’ve ever seen. The door security lock was broken on my door and let me tell you, you’re going to want one. The bed was completely sunken in, in the middle. The towels hardly cover a persons leg. This is all around just a terrible place to stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We are a couple of cockroaches, hair on the towels other than that it was a normal hotel
- Mohamed (5/5): Passable -
- Karlee (6/5): Pleasant -
- Christopher (2/5): Avoid this place like the plague - This place is an absolute joke. I had booked three rooms for two nights. When we arrived the a/c had been turned off and it felt like 85 degrees, took 3-4 hours to get the room cool. The rooms were dingy, filthy and sparse. In one of the rooms two outlet covers were missing with the wires exposed. The telephone in the room was so filthy, I didn't want to look at it, let alone use it.The mini fridge made noise all night. Had to ask for towels since there was only one for a room two people were using, The towels were the thinnest I have ever experienced, I actually had to use paper towels to dry my hair.No one came in to clean the rooms, so we had dirty towels on the floor and no fresh linens. The floors were so dirty the bottom of our socks were black from the filth. It was obvious the floors have not been washed in weeks, This place is an absolute dump. Avoid it like the plague !!!!
i
- Rita (4/5): - First, the pictures used for the site are either ancient or from another location. The door in our room had a safety chain removed at some time, but the holes remained with light shining through. The room smells musty and the flooring definitely needs attention.
- Eugene (6/5): - The bathroom had ants. The refrigerator had a bottle of beer and someones half empty bottle of mountain dew in it when we arrived
- Lori (2/5): - The front desk was really quick at checking in..There was one towel, one bar soap, one shampoo in our room. The toilet didnot flush. The room smelled like urine and must
The sink was dirty. Paid 178 for one night
No breakfast at all
- mario (2/5): Don't stay there - The place was dirty had to ask 4 times for towels that should of been in a rag bag air conditioner had no cover on the coils was mess we booked it for three night left after one
- Vincent (2/5): - I’ll start this review acknowledging that the gentleman working there was nice. The Rodeway Inn is dirty (we had to switch rooms bc the first had not been cleaned in some time). There was a dead bug in the bathroom, the floor was filthy, and nothing was wiped off. After asking to be moved, the second room was not much better. I had to ask for the vacuum to be run, there was no chair, the floor was still dirty, and the fridge/freezer had not been cleaned for a long time, as there was black mold in the freezer. I checked out a day early and they will issue no refund. Absolutely terrible! Sleep in your car before staying here!
- Renaldo (1/5): Complete garbage - Nothing Everything
- Adonis (2/5): - Please do yourself and your family and avoid this place like you would the plague:
The bad:
Extremely DIRTY. The floors, the bathrooms, the mattresses. Even my toddler refused to use the bathrooms here.
Customer service is non existent
Saw a couple doing meth in front of the lobby
The good: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
Not even the price justifies the quality of this place. Left my stay early. Could not have my family spend another minute in this place. Booked another place and don’t regret it. Please please AVOID
- mario (2/5): - WE do a lot of traveling and the worst place we ever stayed
Didn't know what they were doing at the desk. Room was dirty air conditioned was un safe had to ask for towels 5 times. I have towels at home I use for rags that were better. Paid for y\three nights stayed one. Would never recommend anyone to stay there.
- Courtney (2/5): - The room was dirty, old spring mattress hard bed and someone tried to break into my room. I told the staff when I left after a 13 hr night shift and had to drive 3 hrs home after that and they did not seem concerned.
- Bill (2/5): - No towels. Filthy dirty walls, linen, floors. Disgusting
- RICHARD (4/5): - Musty
- Joshua (4/5): - The floor was filthy. The toilet overflowed. The front door had been kicked in and was bent. But the Cracker Barrel was next door.
- Edgein (4/5): It was dirty but I was happy to have somewhere to stay. - They actually reserved a room for us when we booked a room, unlike the Red Roof Inn of Akron. It was dirty.
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant - It was cheap and located near restaurants and shopping areas.
Also close to the freeway. The room, although clean, was pretty dark. The room needed an updating and a fresh paint job. The floor was very cheaply done too.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Room not cleaned before given to us. - There were spiderwebs everywhere and the sheets had to be changes after arrived because they still had somoneleses hair all over them.
- Margaret (2/5): - Cockroach room smelled like smoke even though it was a smoke-free room air conditioner when running smelled like mold broken door
- Samantha (10/5): - It was good no complaints really.
- Tonya (9/5): Superb - Privacy and size of room. Nice stay away from home for a few days. Mattress on bed is a little uncomfortable. Kind of sunk in when I got into bed.
- Shantel (4/5): - The property was horrible
It need the health department
Roaches etc. just plain dirty there!!!!!
Never again
- Zach (1/5): Room was run down and nasty - Both Everything
- Theresa (1/5): Bad - Woke up with pumps on me very red and all I could do is scratch ask for towels never got them and the toilet was nasty wasn’t clean that chair was dirty was scared to sit on it
- Steven (2/5): - My bedsheets were dirty with black stains. The shower curtain had some sort of black stain along the length of the curtain. There was a broken computer monitor left behind from the previous person who stayed in the room. Upon entering the room there was soda cardboard box trash above where you’d hang your jacket near the sink. All sorts of debris on the carpet. The facility and room was just overall dirty.
- Trish (1/5): Never again - Nothing! Except the location was close to the things I needed it to be It was dirty it smelled terrible..bathroom was terrible..beds were uncomfortable no blankets no towels
- Samantha (10/5): - It was a great stay.
- Samantha (10/5): - I really don't have anything bad to say about this Hotel. Except the female that works in the office you might want to watch her. She will try to over charge you but only when you pay cash. The owner and the rest of the people here are awesome.
- Nai Lyi (2/5): - A lot of bad bugs in the room I didn’t stay after I check out 2 hours and left
- Jeremy (10/5): - Great deal thanks
- Vishal (1/5): Bad -
- Ohad (2/5): - There’s no AC even .. don’t go there
- Lorenzo (8/5): Very good -
- Meech (2/5): - Smells horrible and dirty
- James (2/5): - It was three times the narmal rate just became of the eclipse. There was holes in the walls everything was dirty. The bathroom ceiling even had black mold
- F2336ZYnathanm (2/5): Should be condemned - $150 per night, this hotel is an absolute dump. The shower didn’t work, so they called the maintenance man who worked on it for two hours, but he did get it working. Also the bathroom floor seeps
water. The city of N Canton should have it condemned.
Because of the seeping wet floor in the bathroom and very low toilet I defecated diarrhea all over the place, how embarrassing. I am sad for housekeeping, but I’m not leaving my customary tip either.
Came before the solar eclipse which does explain $150 charge per night. But is scalping something that is acceptable
these days?
