- Jill (10/5): A clean, friendly and comfortable place to stay - We booked here last minute, as our flights home were cancelled due to the war in the Middle East, and we ended up with another week in NZ before our new flights. The studio we had, number 4, had a balcony overlooking the bay. The studio was large, clean and well equipped. The furniture was a bit old fashioned, but in great repair. The bed was very comfortable, there was a good little kitchen, and the shower was great- the strongest water pressure during our stay in Nz. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The beach opposite the motel was lovely- long, sandy and never busy. It was about five minutes walk into town, and I think a better location than being in the busy centre. There is a step up into the shower cubicle, which didn’t bother us, but might be hard if someone had poor mobility.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. This is an older style setup but had everything we needed. The position opposite the beach was perfect and an easy walk into the town centre and pier.

We actually couldn't make it for the first night because of a change in plans so we tried to contact the hotel but couldn't get through. When we arrived the next day, we did not get any funny looks or stares. We just got the same nice, courteous service we would expect. Plus, the location cannot be beat. Right on the beach. You can literally see the ocean from here! And feel that nice sea breeze wafting through the room at all hours of the day. Absolutely phenomenal!

We stayed early April and very peaceful and quiet at night. Lovely to lay in bed and hear waves lapping the shore. Laundry was modern I used dryer which was good value $6. Takeaway Shop just around corner. Just walk across the road to safe beach. Would love to stay there again. Some tours picked us up from our front door.
