- Daniela (6/5): - Seriously old and rundown but you get what you pay for. Showers were mouldy, floors creaked with every step, air-conditioning didn't work, breakfast didn't exist as others had eaten everything, no Wi-Fi code provided (unsure if it's even an option), only free to air tv no option to stream from own device and no ability to lock bedroom windows. The location was amazing though. Close to everything, linen and towels provided and was doable for a few nights if you're just passing through. Just don't count on breaky, bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper and wear thongs in the shower and it's fine.

- Janet (8/5): - Location of the hotel is excellent for exploring central Sydney and Darling Harbour. Perfect for walking around Vivid. I knew it had a communal kitchen but didn’t realise we were sharing bathrooms as well. However all facilities were kept very clean and the hotel was generous with its supply of soaps and towels and breakfast food, milk, tea etc. Our room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. Negatives were the very steep stairs to get to the accommodation and also the loud thumping music coming from the bar below which went into the early hours!!

- Rhonda (6/5): - Tv didnt work... i thought id booked a private bathroom but it was shared and they were always occupied... one man had a 45 min shower thos morning whilst there were 4 to 5 people waiting. Was told we could leave our bags on sunday but no one was onsight till midday and we had to walk our luggage to establishment to leave our bags. For the price it was good and i would enjoyed it but i had 2 other guests that are princesses lol. No bread in kitchen and and very limited milk .. not enough for cereal.

Bathrooms cleaned multiple times a day. I’d recommend if you’re on a budget. Really can not complain with the price. Pub is nice too - good steak

- Bruce (8/5): - If you want a fully stocked mini bar and a mint on your pillow, this is not the hotel for you. If you just want a bed and not to spend a fortune in the middle of Sydney, this is a good hotel to pick.
- Steve (8/5): - It’s pub style accomodation, don’t expect the Ritz! For the price (a third of what you pay in a hotel chain) the accomodation was clean, staff friendly/helpful and the location was central to everything. There were two individual lockable bathrooms (with large shower/toilet) per six rooms per floor. We never really had to wait and could always pop down a level if needed. A kitchen had cereal/milk for guests and facilities to cook dinner, handy for families. There were lots of stairs and no lift - maybe leave the 25kg suitcase at home. You will need to wear earplugs to sleep (ask at the bar if you forgot them). If you sit by the window with a cuppa on a Friday/Sat night you’ll watch a parade of people going to dress up parties (what is it with that Sydney?). There’s two convenience stores across the road open pretty much all the time. Our family room had a fan and heater but no AC. The bar fridge was cold and there were tea/coffee making facilities. We had fresh towels daily. The pub downstairs had some good specials but there are plenty of places within walking distance.

TV only able to be watched from top bunk and then at an angle! Hotel on busy city intersection - very noisy. Extremely crowded bar to negotiate to find manager and 'book in' - no separate office. Great steaks and comfy bed.

Bathroom-toilet&showers very clean. So much charm, cheapest you’ll get for the best service and rooms. Didn’t even have breakfast which is included and still super happy with our stay. Will be back

The street noise is terrible ALL night- there is a bus that goes by every 5 min right outside- and there is no AC so if it is hot you have a choice of a really noisy hot room with the window open or an opressively stuffy and only barely quieter room. I got maybe an hour of sleep for the night. The TV only has one channel that will tune in so hopefully you like Channel 7!

- COLIN (10/5): Short solo stay. - Short personal trip, busy in the day, coming back only to sleep. This hotel served my purpose fully! I arrived late and the kind and thoughtful owner rang to ask and then texted me instructions on how to get the key, where was breakfast and the room number. Clean bathrooms, breakfast room stocked - will never go hungry. Clean sheets, comfortable bed. Thin pillows but it was fine for me. Fresh towels daily! Little or no noise. Great location. Minutes walk to Wynyard Station. Lots of cafes around York Street and a 7-11 at the street corner. Great spot. Will stay again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - On the good side, we had a fab time for a week at the Wynyard. There were very few other guests for most of our time, so everything was clean and quiet. Staff were great, the kitchen was well stocked and the bathrooms were clean. The only bad part was for two nights the hotel filled up, and then of course all those people brought their noise and their mess in the bathrooms. The floorboards are super squeaky throughout the hotel, and the walls are thin, so with so many people there it was difficult to sleep continuously due to the noise

- Peter (8/5): Clean room & a warm welcome - Friendly welcome, clean room - quite basic accommodation but happy with the value considering the price paid. You check in at the pub front bar (downstairs). We had a corner room; note that there is moderate noise from traffic and people out on the street. If you want a sleep-in, consider bringing an eye mask as curtains don't black out daylight fully. Friendly bar staff and atmosphere.

- Hylton (4/5): - So, first of all, i wasn't aware there were lots of stairs (with no elevator) and with myself and an 11 yr old carrying two large suitcases up and down is not practical. - The room was dusty with a fridge one three legs, the portable clothes hanging frame was partially broken and should be put in the trash and was full of dust. - The bathroom could be a lot cleaner if they used exit mold etc, the shower/bath did NOT drain well so lots of scum in there, again could be cleaner. - The inconvenience of not having access to someone like a receptionist proved to be difficult at times especially when we were wanting to ask if we could leave our suitcases while we went to eat given check out was 10am but the cleaner told us the bar wouldn't be open until 12? - I don't mind that it's an old style hotel but it could be looked after and it shouldn't be a surprise when you arrive, otherwise, i suggest updating details on the site so that your guest know what to expect. Location was fnatatisc.

The hotel didn’t provide any heating when we checked in. By 4 am, it was so cold that we woke up and couldn’t go back to sleep. I felt wind was blowing on my face. I found a gap in the middle of the slider window, no wonder it was so cold and noisy. I got stuffy nose and my son got fever. Next morning I talked to the manager, he put a towel in the middle of the window (see attached photo), and brought us a heater, but never apologized. We survived the two days, but we will never stay there again.
- Mark (6/5): Clean and Inexpensive Hotel close to the action - Having never set foot inside this hotel I didn't fully know what to expect. Upon entering the establishment I was greeted after some patrons had been served. I was then shown to my room which is exactly what it says.A room with a double bed,a small table,chair and a TV. All you are getting is a room! Bathroom facilities are communal and probably due for refurbishment. This did not concern me,however as I did not use them. The laundry facilities on the top floor however which again I did not use were also in a somewhat rundown state. The kitchen is small and basic and breakfast was included in the price of the room so I grabbed a bite before I checked out. They have breads,butter and some spreads along with cereals. You can also make a hot cuppa or have one of the juices they keep in the kitchen fridge. Overall I would say the whole experience at this hotel is quite satisfactory when you consider the price and location.
- Tim (8/5): - Not the flashiest place if you are looking for a bed for the night. The shared kitchen facilities available were great, the rooms had plenty of extra blankets if needed and shower condiments. Staff were great! Location very handy. I will be staying there again. Cheers to the staff!
- Gabriella (10/5): - As far as budget hotels go this place was great. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are simple but clean. Its no luxury experience but we were in Sydney to see the sights. Location is excellent. Highly recommend. Did get a bit cold over night - could have done with an extra blanket.
- Bron (8/5): - It was in a great location. Although a simple pub room, it was very clean and Ben who met us was very helpful. Great price for an overnight stay in Sydney on a Sat night. This would not suit everyone, but we found it perfectly adequate. I loved having the choice of a simple breakfast included in the cost. The street was pretty noisy on the Sat night, but I just used earphones and music, nd I was fine. I would definitely stay again .

- Lachlan (8/5): Wynyard -Central Sydney - The hotel is a bit tired and could do with a spruce up but for me the bed was comfortable, clean towels complete with shampoo and soap, staff friendly and the position is extremely convenient (especially to Wynyard Station.) The bathrooms and toilets could certainly benefit from some work, but I'm not complaining.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Budget option. Central location. - The Wynyard Hotel was perfect for our purposes. A group of friends were up in Sydney for a day at the races. It was a budget option in a central location with a bar downstairs. Very friendly staff and easy check in process.

- Estelita (6/5): - The hotel is in the middle of the city. Walking distance to everything. But, it's loud at night with all the traffic and people outside the street. The place is a little run down but for the price you pay, it's not bad. It has a shared bathroom and kitchen in each floor.
- Elina (8/5): - Very clean, no little animals or anything.. A little bit musty air but you get the windows open. LOVE the location and for our short stay the location was everything. VERY nice staff!! Cheap stay. Breakfast and WiFi. All in all excellent compared to the price.

(2/5): Not a hotel more like backpackers accommodation. - On arriving at the premises, my husband and I expected to go into a hotel reception area, what we found was the manager greeting us in the public bar of a pub. We were in the building no more than 20 minutes, after we had carried our suitcases to the second floor with holes in the stair carpet and then having the opportunity of viewing a room. We decided not to stay after viewing the room and the facilities. We expected a hotel room with standard hotel facilities, not a room with a double and single bed pushed in to the corners of the room and a fridge placed at the bottom of the single bed with a T.V. hung on a wall, my husband and I were shocked. The manager informed us that we would have to use shared showers, toilets and a kitchen with other people, we would not expect this standard in a hotel. The door lock to the room was flimsy and seemed to us unsafe .The windows on the outside were dirty, the accommodation is above a pub. It is advertised as a hotel. We feel Hotel is a miss-representation of this establishment and is wrong. We have experienced better facilities in a B and B.

- lou (8/5): Read carefully. Check in is thru the bar downstair - There’s no elevator and it is a shared bathroom. But it’s good for the price. Sydney is an expensive city. Very good location, near darling harbor and convenience stores.
- Richard (8/5): Good value for money - This long-standing hotel is in a central CBD location close to all transport cafes and city attractions. Given its age there is no lift access. The room is basic (double bed, T.V, bar refrigerator, ceiling fan). Shared (non-gender) shower, including bath, and tiolet facilities are provided in addition to a good sized shared kitchen which is very well stocked with a wide variety of breakfast cerials, bread, milk, tea, coffee etc.. etc..

- t (6/5): Good location - If i was a pack packer i would have been happy. Breakfast included ceral toast juice tea coffee just what you need to start the day. Our room wa s very basic clean and comfy bed but our tv didnt work and walking down all those flights of stairs with my 10 y o grandson st 830 to a full bar was not a good idea. The shower wss very mouldy a ran continually and we could hear it from our room. Male staff were very welcoming and friendly when we arrived. It was a great location and quite cheap to stay there.
- Jason (4/5): Terrible hotel close to Wynyard Station - The pros: 1. It's close to Wynyard Station 2. The room is relatively clean The cons: 1. Loud music until 1/2am every night so no sleep until the bar is closed if you're sensitive. 2. No elevator and no staff to help so expect to carry your luggage yourself. 3. Drunk people from the bar knocking on your door at night. 4. Terrible sound insulation, expect to hear loud talking/tv/sex from the next room.

- sam (6/5): Clean but noisy - The cleaniness was a nice surprise but I got a room on level one. The pub downstairs is open until late and the music can be heard loud and clear. In my booking I requested a quiet room. Think the person allocating the rooms went overboard and allocated the loudest room.
