- Gerd (9/5): Ein schönes Hotel, in dem man sich wirklich wohl fühlt. - Es war auf unserer Rundreise durch Vietnam mit Abstand das schönste Hotel. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Beim nächsten Besuch werden wir es gerne wieder buchen. Die Rooftop Bar ist sehr schön, nur die Öffnungszeiten sind ziemlich beschränkt.

La chambre est très confortable, de bonne taille et lumineuse. La salle de bain est bien équipée. Le personnel est très sympathique et toujours disponible. Le petit déjeuner est excellent et offre un bon choix pour la clientèle européenne. Le restaurant est également excellent. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter. Le laundry service est très bien, mais un peu cher.

The hotel has a charming, classic atmosphere that feels very different from modern chain hotels. What impressed me the most was the receptionist, Bao Ngoc. She was incredibly helpful, always smiling, and went above and beyond to assist me whenever I had questions. Her professionalism made my stay much more comfortable.

It is a property with a robust and charming history in a part of the city that invites you to stroll the neighborhood. Despite being a busy early afternoon the staff handled each one of with a personal touch. Nam particularly made an impression on me with a smile, politeness and touch of efficiency that rose above the rest. He and his team particularly made our experience at the hotel stand out amongst many. He remembered us when we returned to the hotel for a final stay. Once again he walked me to the cab waved goodbye making me feel that I was leaving a very familiar place. Congratulations Nam and his peers a job well done! Adieu…

The hotel's hygiene is very good, the service is also excellent, and the space in the room is also very good. Although there are not so many kinds of breakfast, it is expensive and delicious. The rooms were spacious and well furnished with a bedroom tv and a separate room for lounging with a tv. The breakfast was filled with a variety of food, breads, cereals and fruits. You can also have eggs, pancakes, and waffles specially ordered. The sky bar was a nice setting to relax and enjoy a cocktail of your choice. There were many brands available.

- Graham_Thomson (10/5): Perfect oasis to start our tour of Vietnam. - Our first hotel in our 3 week tour of Vietnam and it certainly set the standard for the trip. Jetlagged, tired and grubby we arrived to staff who were just perfect and made us comfortable after a long day travelling, The scent of lemongrass in reception was perfect and we were served a welcome tea as we signed in. The room was bright and clean with a large bed (I am 6' 3" / 1.90m). We stayed for 3 nights and the staff continued to be excellent with great restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was delicious with a wide range of choices both European and Vietnamese. The fresh fruit was outstanding. I wouldn't look at another hotel if I ever stayed in Hanoi again.

The staff are really kind and helpful and the breakfast is good. It’s also in a quieter part of town but still walkable to the old quarter. The bathroom did start to smell a bit of drains by the morning which is probably more a reflection of the old plumbing as the bathroom itself was very very clean. The sauna facilities were also closed up and unavailable for use which was a bit of a shame as it is advertised as one of the facilities on booking.com

The property was renovated just a few years ago; the rooms are modern and updated while retaining their old-world charm. Highlights: Fresh fruit everyday in the room; super friendly staff (shout out to Pham Hoang Nam and Do Duc Dung, but really, everyone was lovely!); clean and comfy rooms; location -- walking distance to the Opera House and Hoan Kiem lake, but in a quieter part of town (lots of embassies in the area) with many cafes and restaurants; hotel restaurant feels like an institution P.S. I didn't get to use the facilities on the top floor (gym, sauna, etc.), so I can't give thorough reviews on these Things to consider for improvement: 1. Ergonomic pillow options would be very much appreciated! 2. Cappuccino was a bit too milky (Americano was decent, though) 3. Strawberry or apricot jam at breakfast? Or honey! ^ As you can see, these request are super small / specific -- overall, it's really quite good!

The hotel is a peaceful oasis with a beautiful, calming atmosphere and stunningly decorated rooms. Its location is a major plus. We loved that it's just a short, leisurely walk to the heart of the Old Quarter, offering the perfect balance of quiet tranquility and easy access to the city's lively streets. Another bonus was the Circle K convenience store just a 3-minute walk away, making it easy to get snacks and drinks whenever we needed. The breakfast experience at Cay Cau Restaurant was incredible. We were so excited each morning to sample the different local Hanoian dishes, including the most delicious phos. It's clear why this restaurant is well-regarded by locals—the food is genuinely top-notch. The staff's hospitality was second to none. The reception team provided excellent, professional service with a warmth that made us feel right at home. A huge thank you to Joyce and Dung, who were exceptionally helpful and a pleasure to interact with. De Syloia Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience that truly enhanced our Hanoi vacation. We left feeling relaxed and are already looking forward to our next visit. Just a little suggestion to include a variety of local coffees for breakfast such as drip coffee, coconut coffee and salt coffee - this is to provide a snippet of the Hanoi Coffee Experience :)

The facilities were decent, good room. However, I expected to see a rooftop pool, but it turn out to be a small bath only lol. But overall, the experience was amazing.

- Isabella (10/5): Cozy, comfortable, lovely staff - Beautiful, comfortable room with a nice view! I stayed here for 5 nights towards the end of a long 3 week trip in Vietnam and it was the perfect place to rest while still getting a chance to join tours and go sightseeing. Location was a little out of the way for tour pickup but I had no issues with asking them to make an exception because the hotel was still so close to the city center. And since it was out of the way, it was nice and quiet in the evenings. I also appreciated that the hotel overall was actually fairly small, and the building has some old charm to it. But aside from the room being a little sanctuary to recoup before continuing to travel for another 3 weeks, the shining star of my stay was the lovely staff! They are so kind, and made an effort to recognize and get to know their guests. They were very helpful about making calls when I ran into miscellaneous issues - my Grab driver not ending my ride before driving away, my hotel in Sapa not responding about transportation from the train station. They also let me store my main luggage with them for a few days while I took a quick trip to Sapa before returning to stay with them for one last night. Nothing :)

We arrived earlier than check in time and they stored our luggage so that we could go explore the lovely French quarter neighborhood (highly recommend Luk Lak restaurant for lunch). Our room was really nice, spacious and clean. The seating area with floor to ceiling windows brightened up the room and also made it feel bigger. The bed was one the most comfortable from our two weeks in Vietnam. Loved the deep bathtub and fresh smelling toiletries, the fluffy bathrobes were a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent, many choices of local and western food. Fresh fruit, pastries and cooked to order eggs were appreciated. The best hotel out of our two time stay in Hanoi, highly recommend it for the great service and wonderful property.

Our rooms were lovely, the staff were terrific - super helpful and friendly - and we really enjoyed the location...lots of great food and coffee options nearby and attractions like Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter were walkable (and the walks were half the fun!).

Even though a four star hotel, this property has rooms with character, excellent breakfast and amazing staff. Size of the room and bathroom amenities are just amazing Everything about this place is very good. Strongly recommended if you don’t need all the other amenities of five star hotels. The location is also very convenient as most of the sites to visit are 2-3 dollar taxi ride away.

After a 20 hr flight from Canada we arrived to a spacious, quiet suite with a very comfortable bed and ‘the best’ pillows! We found most, if not all, sights we wanted to see were in walking distance or a trip on the Hop On/Off bus took us there. As the street traffic (for walking in the evening) can be a bit overwhelming (but safe) we dined exclusively at the restaurant that adjoined the hotel. The buffet breakfast was also served here. All food offerings were very good and table service was top-notch. We highly recommend staying at DeSyloia when you visit Hanoi

- Nina (9/5): Best hotel with an aesthetic ambiance and wonderful staff - We initially planned to stay for just two nights, but after seeing our room, we immediately decided to extend our stay for another night. The hotel is stunning, with a beautiful French aesthetic and colonial design. The staff is incredible and very attentive. One young man (unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name) was especially helpful - he assisted with reception and luggage and went out of his way to ensure we stayed in the same room, even though the hotel was fully booked. The breakfast is varied and delicious, and the location is perfect - peaceful yet right in the heart of the city, away from the noise. We also loved the complimentary herbal bath, as well as the steam and sauna rooms. The hotel features a lovely sky bar with a complimentary drink, and fresh fruit was delivered to our room every day! 💛 - The only minor downside - the handheld showerhead was a bit short, and although the overhead shower worked, the water pressure was a little weak - it’s the one thing that could be improved. Spoiler: After our trip to Sapa, we returned to this hotel for another night.
- Yupango01 (10/5): Great stays at De Syloia Hotel Hanoi - De Syloia Hotel is an excellent choice to stay while youre visiting Vietnam. It is beautiful and has the modern Vietnamese ethnic decoration which is great and beautiful and i like it so much. It is placed in the central of Hanoi, it has large road, and good access to everywhere in Hanoi. You do need to worry if you are using big vechicle.. The breakfast is absolutely stunning and so delicious. I like their homemade pinnaple jam, and their orange juice is just the best I ever had. You can also ask for Pho and other Vietnamese dishes that tasted so good and yummy, fresh and refreshing. The room also very clean and have a very good international standard... The staffs very friendly, the recepcionist Duc Anh can understand me so well... I am so glad and satisfied with this hotel and their services.

I would definitely stay again at this property on my next visit. We were not informed that the aircon was not working and upon inquiring as to why , we were told that t during the winter only the heater works and if necessary we can use the room fan . Unfortunately, upon using the fan it was very noisy and it was only circulating the hot air inside.

- smallsye (10/5): De Syloia Hotel - We found this hotel and we very happy, as the hotel is beautiful. We were welcomed by Luna, who is a very beautiful and kind spirit woman. (Who is very stylish as well). We saw her every day and she helped learn about the hotels acommadations. There is a spa/sauna/bar upstairs, my favorite would be the traditional music offered everynight in restaurant. This hotel is very nice, the rooms are spectacular, and bathroom large and good for getting ready. The room is spacious and has good closet storage to keep your room from getting too messy. The hotel is veryy decorated, I took a lot of pictures of just the art displayed throughout. The location is close to the Old Quarter, but also far enough away from the loud noise. Inside is decorated with new and cozy furnishing and fresh flowers. The guests are higher end, and you can see that as the restaurant fills every evening with a classy well dressed crowd. Overall the staff in general beautiful people, the men and women. But most of all very kind and professional. If you are looking to come to Hanoi, Vietnam consider staying here. I will stay here again on my next visit.
