Guest Reviews
- Kimberly (8/5): - Was very comfortable peaceful and relaxing š it was clean and spacious so we enjoyed our stay there
- Don (6/5): - Loud window ac. Bright outdoir lights keep the room semi lit all night as pull down blinds did not fully cover the windows.
Nice and friendly staff. Several parking spots had portable storage containers.
Slight mold in shower and dirty bathroom flooring.
- Lucas (2/5): - The room below my room was occupied by very noisy people, loud talking, loud TV, it was very unpleasant all night long. The noise comes easy through the ceiling and walls. When I called the hotel reception at 4 am I got a voicemailbox, and later no reaction back. When I entered the room in the evening, there was no warm water and the next morning it was lukewarm.
- Chee Jiang (4/5): - Everything seems newly updated but the air conditioner is so loud even when turn the fan speed into lowest. My whole sleep was interrupted by smelling smoke plus the air conditioner noise. Found the blanket has yellow stained and wetted! Did ask for blankets changed and extra bed sheets. Gladly appreciate the front deskās staff is helpful. Coffee and soda dispenser mostly out of order.
- Subramanya (2/5): - Bad
- Thomas (6/5): - For the money during peep season it was ok. Otherwise itās a low quality stay
- Kathleen (2/5): - No toilet paper...no remote control... No way id stay another day...
- Julia (4/5): - The room was very poor condition. The dust was hanging from air conditioner. The walls were dirty.
The good thing is bedding was clean.
- Suzanne (2/5): - Run down property. Room bare minimum (a trash basket and bathroom glass would have been nice). Overall = never again.
- Darren (2/5): - Horrible.
- joan (2/5): - The air conditioner was great. But the floor was dirty, tub full of dirt and scum. Water smelled weird and a friend refused to drink it so I did not either. The smoke alarm was hanging off the wall in two pieces and obviously did not work. There was no coffee/coffee maker. One bed spread had blood stains on it. I did not expect much but rooms all over town were sold out due to events and fall leaf peeping. It was a 6.0 review level on google but it should be like a 3 or 4. Camping outdoors would have been cleaner.
- Connie (2/5): - Very dirty. Shower and tub were gross. My feet got black walking barefoot on the floor. Would definitely not recommend
- Dixon (2/5): - Terrible
- Nadyuska (4/5): - Beds are very uncomfortable and Very noisy area.
The outside and inside have poor appearance, I would not recommend this hotel to no one , pay a little more and stay in a better hotel
- Bethany (2/5): - The picture that they use for this motel have to be random stock photos. The motel itself is rundown and sad. We opened the door to our room and were smacked in the face with a smokey / garbage smell. I looked at the tiny room and listened to all the noise outside and knew we wouldn't be able to relax at all. I found the Black Mountain Inn and luckily they had a room available. I'm in disbelief that Travelodge and Wyndham do not check on "their" properties. I really am going to fight for a refund.
- charles (2/5): - Not worth wasting my time on this property any further.
- Shelby (2/5): STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL YOU WAN REGRET IT - Go elsewhere. The covered bridge inn is wayyyyy better clean and the same price.
- Brandon (2/5): - Iām not the one to ever leave reviews but this one needed one. Walked in this room. Already wanted to leave. The room was hot and muggy, stains on our pillows, towels, stains on our bed. Not to mention, bugs I found on my friends neck after getting out of the shower and the bugs in the sheet. I have never stayed in a motel like this before. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, did not return for the second. After the first night, we tried getting refunded for the second night, the staff was unhelpful and cold. We walked out of that room with stuffy noses, sore throats and barely any sleep. Oh and our alarm in the morning was people yelling and cursing at each other at 7:30am. I dont recommend staying here at all. Wouldāve rathered slept in my car in hindsight.
- David (2/5): - Room was unclean and smelled strongly of urine. It was not habitable. Several people congregated outside the room next door loudly. We left after 10 minutes.
I thank Expedia for the refund, but suggest removing this motel from your listing.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Complete dump stay away u get what you pay 4 - The rooms walls and floors caked with previous spills, filthy bedding blood stained sheets upon entry, i confronted them and it was basically an o we'll, frequently in dispute with front desk, this is a homeless shelter not a hotel. They have been housing the homeless since the beginning of pandemic and the tenants stays were for 80 days in all the 80 days the rooms weren't serviced properly. Manager very disrespectful to me and my girlfriend because we were dissatisfied with there services. Final dispute was our room keys wouldnt work and the manager blammed my girlfriend? Im Very confused. I would have rather slept outside. Heed my warning travelers i have nothing to gain by rating them good or bad. Don't waste your money here.
- David (6/5): Friendly staff. - Comfortable, safe. Basic amenities.reasonable.
- Carol (10/5): - I was only there for a few hours sleep
- David (8/5): - Room was clean, staff was very personable. AC was extremely loud and one of the chairs in the room was extremely worn out. But overall, it was comfortable and friendly.
- John (8/5): - Furniture and appliances are new and comfortable. Internet access is fast. TV screen definition is below standard. Coffee and āorange juiceā are terrible. Staff at reception are friendly and helpful. Price is attractive.
- Bryan (4/5): - The toilet paper was not even on the roll, TV didn't work, the desk/console was broken...really tough conditions
- Keith (6/5): - the room was not clean. there was never anyone around at the front desk. there was construction under way upstairs. the towels were old and small. not enough pillows.
- Denise (6/5): - Easy accessibility from main travel thoroughfares (North-South, I-91 and East-West, VT-9). Convenient proximity to gas stations, restaurants and even grocery stores as most were within a few blocks south of the property.
- Joseph (4/5): - Over flowing dumpsters.
- Michele (8/5): - Quiet, comfortable and dog friendly. Pleasant host at check in
- Eileen (4/5): - Omg. The dirtiest place I have ever stayed, upon check-in, I was greeted by a man that had a T-shirt on that said ābest farter I mean, best fatherā so that was pretty yuck,
Everything is dirty and slimy, this is not a normal and Experian shouldnāt have it on the site. Enjoy my pictures ok?!
- Juan (2/5): - Dirty lack of maintenance
- Tim (4/5): - The price definitely reflects in the property. It is close to many things and things to do but the state of the hotel could be much better well kept. I hope my tip to the cleaning person helps their motivation to give the bathroom a good clean and the walls
- Kimara (8/5): - Front desk attendant was hospitable, thank you š
- Margaret (2/5): - I didn't like anything. The room smelled awful , was dirty , tub didn't work, outside was dirty too. My socks were filthy from walking around room. I didn't feel safe the bed was hard.
- Lori (10/5): - Good
- Melissa (4/5): - Our room was half finished. Tv was not set up to use. Property staff was never around. No coffee pots in room or made in the office. Found out the town is using to place homeless people. Police and ambulance their twice in are 4 night stay.
- Stewart (4/5): - door would not shut/seal properly so room inhaled smoke from smokers outdoors; several low income hanging about;
no chair in room; no change of linens; limited hot water
- Timothy (8/5): - Reasonable accommodation.
Spartan in amenities, lack of kleenex in room for instance.
Was given a better room after the first one they gave me did not have desk nor table.
I was comfortable in the room with desk.
Had in room fridge and microwave.
Overall good stay for the price. Better location the Econo Lodge.
Maid was chatting it up outside my door at a couple minutes to 11am checkout. I did not vacate room until 11:05, so I might not be the easiest customer to work with. Made my decision not to tip her quite easy.
- Randall (2/5): - No shampo no soap, two towels one roll of toilet paper,no trash barrels walls where disgusting, the floors dirty i would never go back there and ill let everybody know , plus drug addictes asking for money or cigarettes i felt scared for my wife
- Kyle Z (2/5): - Sheets had hair on them. Towels were supposed to be white, but were brown. Holes in the wall and bathroom ceiling falling apart.
- christopher (4/5): - A few of the rooms have full time residents. It was definitely a bit odd but I guess this is a mix use hotel. It worked in a pinch but price of $200 was a bit overkill
- ROBERT (10/5): - Clean
- Adam (2/5): - This property is very unkept and not worth the price. Spiders in the bathroom, dirty floors, linens that cover you in lint, no cable tv, and very little anything. The place feels seedy. Itās a run down place but not expecting to pay $160 a night.
- Erika (4/5): See for yourself - This place is difficult to describe.
One positive: There is a very kind woman who works there.
One negative: There appeared to be a urine stain on the bathroom wall. Did someone miss the toilet altogether?
- jerry (6/5): - Old
- Kathleen (2/5): - The exterior of motel is in disrepair, peeling paint, dirty, littered with cigarette butts and debris. Our room had been updated but was dirty and smelled of cigarettes. Even though new furnishings had been installed, basics like washing doors and woodwork wasn't done. A nice, fancy mirror was hung very crookedly. There was no place to hang anything nor any place to put clothes. I think a paper towel wouldn't been more useful than the provided towels! Just an all around bad experience.
- Jacob (8/5): - Super nice people..but kinda close to a busy rd, so its a little noisy. Room was kinda dirty. Dont know if its poor housekeeping necessarily, think its just way past due for some remodeling and a paint job.
- Sharon (4/5): Run and donāt look back - The women at the front desk was friendly made us feel better about the run down building. Once in our room we were sorry we booked it. The room was dirty and dated. Dead spider in his web on the smoke alarm. Almost anything you touched was sticky. Best was I did a courtesy flush and it didnāt go down. The guy at the front desk plundered it for a long time getting dirty toilet water all over the bathroom floor then said we are good. Nope toilet only swirled it around. In the morning the same guy told us a lady with two kids was in the room the day before us and he thinks she flushed a diaper. Really how about giving us another room or a discount. Also paper thin walls we heard every step of the people above us all night. Trust me I will not be back. No photo to show as we didnāt take any to embarrassed to let friends know we stayed there
- Alan (8/5): - The room was clean. It's worth the price.
- Scott (8/5): - It was fine
- David (2/5): - Not a nice place at all. Water was grey, sheets were stained.... Run away
- mary (8/5): - better than other motels i've stayed at in brattleboro
- Michael (8/5): - Convenient location, reasonable rates.
- Scott (10/5): - Great value for the dollar.
- Tony (10/5): - Could have used a desk but room was great for the price
- Leonid (6/5): - Looks like renovations, so new firm mattress, which is the main reason I was there (1 night). New tub, new shower fixture, great. Room clean. Big mirror at sink had an inoperable light (dark). Door to bath too large for opening, so the carpenter failed. No door handle on door, just hole (can't close door that exceeds opening size anyway. That was comical. likely to be fixed, but it was not a big issue for me and I did not complain. Location is convenient to Interstate highway and plenty pf places to eat.
- Nino (8/5): - clean
- Sharon (10/5): - The property is clean and well maintained
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good value for a 1 night stay, but not luxurious - Garrett was wonderful at the front desk . He was able to accommodate a room on the first floor which was important for my family. He was respectful and professional and went the extra mile to provide a late check out of 2 hours so I could get additional rest after a long trip. The room was clean and the counter tops and floors looked new, however there was no closet or hook to hang coats or blazers. I'm glad there was a microwave, refrigerator and desk with a chair. The bedding looked nice but the pillows were thin and the beds were old and springy, not as comfortable as I had hoped. Still the value was reasonable for 1 night. Thr hot water in the shower was excellent, parts of the bathroom walls could use repair. I suggest the motel ower upgrade the matteresses, provide more pillows that are new, also put closets or at least coat hooks in the rooms, and provide some kind of breakfast with gluten free options. The room value was good but there was no breakfast available at all. Also there should not be a 15$ fee for service dogs- they are medically nessecary. Thank you
- Jacob (4/5): - The heater/air conditioners in the rooms were astonishingly noisy, sounding like a jet plane was taking off in the room, making it very difficult to sleep. Additionally, sound insulation between rooms and floors was almost nonexistent. As we tried to sleep it seemed like flamenco dancers were performing in the room above us.
Amenities were also poor, There was no soap provided, and the TV worked very poorly, making it unwatchable.
All we wanted from the motel was a chance to catch a few hours of sleep before continuing on or travels, but that proved to be difficult.
I want to add that the young woman in the office was friendly, helpful and apologetic about the noise.
I would encourage management/owners to consider major rehab and updating,
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Average hotel stay, decent room.
- Thomas (8/5): - It was a quiet nice place.
- BRENDAN (10/5): - Convenient and affordable
- Stephen (10/5): - All around nic place. Would stay there again
- Dayle (2/5): - The parking lot was piled high with junk, old furniture and mattresses. The room was awful, bed cover had hole the size of a dime, air conditioner was held in place with duct tape, there was a space under the door to outside at least an inch. Nasty cig butts outside our door. Felt very unsafe there.
- Susan (4/5): - Property is being redone. Multiple mattresses, toilets, doors and trash all around building. Our room did not have a working phone, no towels bars or anywhere to hang anything. Owners to complete the job before they open their doors for business.
- Charles (4/5): - The people upstairs stomped around until after midnight and people were talking and smoking outside my window until after midnight. Couldnāt sleep. No toilet paper in room and ice machine was broken. Manager did go out and get me some ice from the store however. Overall, you get what you pay for
- George (4/5): - Dirty
- Kimberly (4/5): - There were holes in the walls, the extra lock on the door was broken, they had a hose for the plumbing for the sink, the shower was dirty and it was noisy. Didn't turn on the air conditioner because it was too dirty and it looked like it was just blow dirt all over the room. The outside had boxes and mattresses all over the property.
- Cassandra (8/5): - Was not all bad but they are remodeling when I stayed and there was trash everywhere. Inside the room the bathroom didn't have a lock on the door which I did not like. The mirror had a wire hanging from it. The shower head wasn't completely attached. Like i said, remodeling so understanding that I completely get some things but everything sbould be complete in a room before they put customers in it. I would stay here again once all the work is done.
- Sheila (8/5): - OK for a one night stay. Not overly impressed. No breakfast offered.
- Thomas (2/5): - Room had holes in wall. Outside was filled with old mattress and furnishings. Apparently renovated but outside was a mess and inside not better. We were on lower floor you could hear people walking til 2:00 am. Heater fan was super loud. Crawled on bed to adjust and with in 30 minutes itās was loud again. Terrible would not stay ever again at a Travelodge
- Dorothy (8/5): - Just stayed the night, left early in the morning. Room seemed newly renovated. Laminate wood floors, bathroom new. Large mini-fridge with freezer that we didnāt use. Microwave. Got 2 double beds, fit exactly in the space and felt super tight. The towel had a stain, asked for more towels. Found a strand of hair under the cover. Noisy road traffic. Overall was okay, nothing special and not terrible for a quick stay.
- Brenda (2/5): - Tables in the walk way to the room, boxes of construction materials and debris, room seemed unfinished with no place to hang up or store clothing, couldn't get the television to work without linking my entertainment accounts to it....
- Carl (4/5): - No hooks in the room to hang clothes. Very hard mattress.
The exterior was a mess, but that was, understandably, due to renovations. It will surely be better after the completion of the upgrades
- Kristine (10/5): - Room appeared freshly painted. Clean and comfortable. Staff nice and check in was easy. Quiet except for a drunk at 1 am and that wasnāt the hotels fault. Hoping to be back that way soon and will stay there again.
- Richard (8/5): - Handicap bathroom was very accesable and well desig
ed
- Shoniston (2/5): - Gross property unfriendly and not helpful at all. Druggies weāre seen there earlier in the day.
- Frank (8/5): - The property needs a larger sign on the road side, dark blue small letters; I have seen larger post stamps. Travelled 5 miles past before I convinced my self that the motel was behind me. Other than that and the fact that no one was on the front desk at check out; it was a pleasant stay.
- Thomas (4/5): - Room not clean, bathroom door falling off, no trash can
- Sarah (2/5): Absolutely awful - Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. If you are traveling, donāt stay here.
1. Almost all the guests at this hotel were not on vacation, they were living there on a permanent basis. It was more like a transitional housing place and not a hotel.
2. The room was awful. There were stains all over the bedding.
3. There were people awake and in the parking lot all hours of the day and night. And I witnessed drug deals and people consuming drugs in the parking lot.
I was afraid to stay there and it was absolutely awful the entire time.
Please stay anywhere else in town.
- Thomas (4/5): - Our room windows were wide open when we arrived, it was cold in the room, the room smelled like smokers were still smoking in the room. The room was so small the double beds were set against the wall so one person had to climb over another to get in the bed. There was no closet rod or hooks in the room or bathroom. No breakfast of any sort offered.
- Verified traveler (6/5): They're trying.... - They're trying to improve. It seems like theyve done a lot of removation recently, but the bathroom was dirty and there want any toilet paper or soap. I literally had to use the washcloth to clean up after using the bathroom. The air conditioner was also quite loud. However, the new bed and mirror are a nice touch. Theyre making major improvements, but forgot about the little tuings.
- Adam (8/5): - They are in process of a remodel of property nice room everything is new
- Bonnie (4/5): - All I did was sleep here and shower in the morning; fine for that. The whole place is being renovated; I understand. The parking lot is full of mattresses and parts for reno, but the parking spaces for the rooms are accessible. I was told I had a new room - all finished - but it was not. There was no light over the sink and mirror, only what glowed around the corner from the shower. There are no chairs, table, or rack to set things on; only horizontal surfaces are floor, dresser and counter. Towels clean but thin and stained (well-used). Much of room hardware was covered with paint and spackle that needed cleaning, and lots of caulking still needed to be done. There was only a sheet and blanket on the bed, no comforter/ quilt. But the bed appeared clean, the amenities were helpful and clean (frig, microwave, coffee maker), and the A/C kept the room cool. I got in at 11pm and left at 8 a.m. had a good sleep and shower, the price was right, and I had some coffee in the morning. I only say "dirty" because the room details and spot cleaning are not finished yet. But for my needs it was clean and satisfactory; just want others to know what to expect. Lady I saw at the desk when I checked in was very sweet. There was no one there in the morning, even tho I rang and waited. No breakfast of any kind but more coffee in the lobby. No decaf or tea. It's way north of town a bit; I needed to call someone to get me there. Small road sign, on left/west side of road coming north from Bboro.
- Colleen (2/5): - The hotel should not have been open to the public. It was under renovation and the condition of the property and rooms were not safe. The employees did not want to hear about issues. Also, a note should have been written to alert people that the hotel was helping the homeless in their facility.
- Andrew (2/5): - There was trash all around the property (20-30 mattresses), exposed wires in the room, and a bunch of people just kind of hanging around the doors of units. For our family we didnāt feel comfortable and did not stay in the room . We bought a different hotel room in the area. We submitted a chat to Orbitz on the night of. Weād like to get a refund from Orbitz for this stay as it was not as advertised and not fit for our stay.
- Monique (2/5): Run Away as Fast as You Can! Do not book here!!!! - Avoid this place like the plague. Not at all like the photos on hotels.com! Was filthy, dangerous, tacked on unadvertised fees~we looked at the room and turned around as fast as possible and left {they still charged us for 2 of the 6 nights even though we did not stay). Very sketchy business and absolutely DO NOT BOOK especially if you are traveling with pets or children
- kyle (6/5): - About what youd expect from a "2-star" motel. Generally quiet place to sleep and get a shower on a long weekend trip. Would stay again. Would have been nice if the vending machines worked. Stairs to the 2nd floor felt a little worse for ware, but it looks like the place is slowly being renovated.
- MICHAEL (2/5): - This place is an absolute mess. We have never seen this kind of property with the Wyndham name on it. It should be shut down to accomplish refurbishment. The room we were given had construction materials and tools in the parking and walkway that we had to climb over to even get to the room. The room had construction dust and smelled bad enough that we went and got Lysol spray to clean the air. When we complained (and others complained about their rooms as well) we were told that the room was finished and had been cleaned. We were pretty sure if any cleaning was done it was by a construction worker with a shovel. Awful, Awful,,,,,,,,,
- Erik (10/5): - Newly renovated.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was horrible. The exterior was filthy. The state places their homeless population there and I felt incredibly unsafe. I ended up not staying and eating the cost of the hotel because I felt so unsafe and grossed out
- April (8/5): - I want to start off by saying the staff was very nice and accomodating, considering it was extremely late when I arrived to the property. Upon arrival to this location, I was informed there was a charge for my toy poodle to stay. I was not expecting this charge, as Expedia had indicated there were no charges for dogs. While the charge was only $15, it was still a little upseting as this was part of the reason I had booked this location.
Once checked in, I proceeded to enter the room, which had a strong smell of perhaps mildew?! This was fixed by cutting on the air-conditioning and leaving it on. The room seemed to have clearly been updated, was clean enough for an overnight stay, and the bed was comfy. Location was close to the main highway and seemed save enough.
Unfortunately, the outside of the building was very depressing. Fresh paint is definitely needed and I was little worried about the stability of the second floor balcony. Not sure if I would book again with any Travelodge by Wyndham!
- Donn (4/5): - The only good thing about the room, was that the bath and vanity space was clean with modern fixtures, Bed was horrible. TV only had streaming, and spent most of time trying to figure out how to use it.
- LORIANN (8/5): Convenient Budget Hotel - Budget hotel convenient to everything in Brattleboro. Being renovated, and new rooms are great.
- Jenna (4/5): - They allow dogs in the room and itās impossible to get away from all the pet hair ingrained in the carpet. And this is one of the few hotels Iāve seen in years where the maids leave an envelope for guests to tip them. I hated seeing one of my āneighborsā leave their room door open while they were fixing their car and 2 huge dogs run in and out and all in and on the bed, and then attempt to lay down in my bed while dog hair is being collected on all of my clothing. Not many options in this small town. Just to get through the night, I ended up buying a blanket and pillow from Family Dollar, and wrapping myself up in it to sleep.
- chuankai (2/5): - worst hotel room ever
- Peter (4/5): - dirty room and hall.
management calling my room to complain about noise and not coming down to see it was not us.
just not a good experience and I have stayed there in the past and it was fair
- richard (2/5): - Toilet cleaning tool laying in doorway, dirty underwear found in bathtub, missing light bulbs in 2 of the 3 available lamps, one filthy towel in fresh towel rack, dirty water floor of tub, substandard TV. Staff was however extremely friendly and courteous and appeared to be as accommodating as possible, just overwhelmed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - Listing stated "pets stay free" but I was charged $15 for dog. Reserved room with 2 beds but was given room with 1 bed. Fitted bottom sheet was too small for bed...constantly popped off the mattress corners while trying to sleep.
