• Julien (5/5): - Hébergement très bien situé, en plein centre ville. L’hôte a été très réactif par message pour la récupération des clefs. Hébergement de type appartement, très basique. Il se situe sur une place assez populaire, qui reste très animée jusqu’à très tard. Il est donc impossible d’espérer du calme pour dormir. Je ne conseille pas ce logement. Les clefs ont été récupérées dans la réception qui semble aussi faire office de logement de l’hôte, le lieu présentant une condition très questionnable.

• Roxana (10/5): Wonderful stay here - I had a wonderful stay here. The location is right in the heart of the old town (which I highly recommend as an area; there isn’t much to do in the rest of the city). The rooms are old style, but they are very very clean. We had all the amenities available, including a hairdryer and air conditioning. If you have a rental car, “East Ditch Theater” is a large free parking area just a few minutes’ walk away.

• Kate (10/5): Definitely worth it. - This place is fantastic!!! The location can't be beat! It's centrally located to the city center and it's right next to the sea! The team here made our stay equally great. Thank you to Nikolas helping to make our stay that much more comfortable.

• BenV1972 (10/5): - The location is amazing, nothing like drinking coffee on the balcony overlooking the old town square each morning. Rooms are really big and lovely tall ceilings keeping it nice and cool. Nikolas is a really nice guy and around most of the time to help out should you need it. There are small supermarkets within 2 minutes and a bigger one just 5 minutes up the small hill. Plenty of restaurants and bars within a 2 minute walk which can be better than the ones on the harbour.

Très étroit, places perdues , vétuste .. ça ne faisait pas très propre et finalement pour venir régulièrement bien d autres hébergements dans Hania au même prix et pareillement situés sont beaucoup plus appréciables . La terrasse roof top est en travaux et inaccessible ce n était pas noté . Il n est pas habituel pour moi de mettre des appréciations de ce genre mais nous avons été déçues .

Parvekkeelta upea vanhan kaupungin tunnelma. Katolla oleva oleskelutila oli mahtava ja rento. Matkatavaroiden varastointi uloskirjautumisen yhteydessä auttoi paljon.

• Ilse Julia L (10/5): Magnificent - I had a wonderful stay at Nikolas Rooms and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Chania. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the Old Town, yet peaceful enough to relax and unwind. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making it a perfect base for exploring the city and nearby beaches. What truly made my stay special was the hospitality of the owner. Professional, kind, and genuinely helpful, he went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. It’s rare to find this level of care and dedication, and it made me feel truly welcome. I will definitely return to Nikolas Rooms on my next visit to Chania. If you’re looking for a place that combines great location, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality Nothing to report

• Ioannis (8/5): Great location in the heart of Chania - Great location. The owner is a very nice and helpful guy. It is next to the church. So the bells will wake you up on Sunday at 8 am whether you like it or not. It’s not the rooms’ fault.

• Leconfeld (10/5): Amazing hotel - This is a very well located hotel and the staff is amazing. Nikolas was able to also help get us a rental car to drive around on the Island. Rooms are very well equipped.

The hotel is in a great location, providing access in to the old town and the beach only 10 minutes on foot. The facilities are excellent and well maintained. From the roof garden with it's fantastic views, through to the rooms. Thank you Nikolas for an outstanding experience and we will see you next year.

• Sheridan (7/5): Ok for a night, but not for a longer stay - The location in the Old Town was great for sightseeing. Located over a popular Taverna, the noise of the music was very loud and in the morning, the gas delivery at 0630 was an annoying alarm. There was no one at the property when we arrived and we had to ask a shop owner nearby to ring Nikolas(??) whose first concern was how I was going to pay.

• Laura (1/5): Shockingly bad - The place is a hostel, dirty and unprofessionally managed by someone who doesn't speak English, is unprofessional and inappropriate. The cleaner pretends not to understand to not clean, my pillows were smelling of sweat I caught an eye infection and the bed frame was dusty and hadnt been cleaned in weeks clearly. The facilities are falling apart and the area is incredibly loud not in a lively way - rubbish trucks stopping and beeping early morning, dodgy people sitting across the door and sleeping there not sure if homeless or what. The terrace is nice but have the same view from other places in the square. I had 10 days booked on the 4th night I ran out and booked another accommodation. I have raised a complaint to booking that went unheard. I frankly cannot believe the platform allows this accommodation to be advertised but I just leave this here hope it helps other female solo travellers stay safer

• Anthony (6/5): We thought the room was overpriced. - Very central in old town The block faces due south so has hot sun blaring straight at it nearly all day. Some rooms don’t have balconies and some do but living in either is a challenge as you’d have to draw the curtains and have the a/c on. Our room at the back was cooler but then you miss the view over Pl. Athinogora at the front. The tiny bathroom had 3 separate levels of little steps.

• Heather (8/5): Very good - Great location in terms of exploring chania and close to the bus station. Comfy beds. We checked in late and staff were on hand over the phone to assist. Whilst location good for exploring it was very loud!! Right on a busy street which had loud music and general noise until about midnight so was difficult to sleep. Couldn’t seem to get hot water either (although not major issue in summer)

• Dorothy (1/5): Terrible - Location was excellent No better than a hostel even though I have never stayed in one owner was terrible tried to tell us we would have to get alternative accommodation all through WhatsApp as he had to have operation and his mother in hospital sent pictures of mother to my daughters phone not appropriate my daughter contacted booking.com he then said we could stay seen him every day after no operation on him absolutely ruined our stay we were there to attend wedding and had nothing but stress and tears over place
• Zoë (1/5): Bad - The location was excellent. Terrible experience with the host informing us that he could not fulfill our full length of booking and that the hotel was closing for a period of time. After a lot of back and forth, including involving booking.com, we got this resolved and were eventually "allowed" to stay. Highly unprofessional communications made us very uncomfortable and made our holiday incredibly stressful. Had there been other properties available last minute, we would have left immediately.

• Dana (6/5): - Right in the middle of old town and all the amenities. Without a phone it was hard to track down the front desk as they were out and about often. We were always able to get into our room and it felt safe. Rooftop terrace gave nice view of the surrounding areas.

• Loukas (7/5): Good location. Spacious room and value for money for April time. - Location was great and room was spacious. Nicolas was available when needed. He even let us keep the room for an extra half day as it was empty. Wifi wasn't working for the whole time and couldn't get it fixed due to weekend. Also the base of the toilet was missing and had to be fixed on the day we arrived but was eventually accommodated.
• Diana (10/5): - Quaint, clean, and right in the middle of everything. Had everything and I needed and lots of homey touches. I especially loved the PILES of available blankets and the beautiful balcony overlooking the church square, where a local guitarist liked to sit and play. The host was very helpful with a map and recommendations. I'd stay there again.
• David (5/5): Great place, great location, terrible host. - The location is prime to visit and stay downtown Chania - lots of great shopping and resturants around. The host was EXTREMELY difficult to communicate with for payment. We literally attempted to pay every day we were there only to be turned away. The older gentleman that was at the reception did not know how to operates the credit card machine so we could pay. The host waited until the last second for us to pay for our stay and forced us to get out of bed (earliy flight) to come downstairs to pay.

Fell in love with the bathroom tiles, everything was beautiful and ac was amazing, chilled the room in minutes! Fridge was just the right size and cooled drinks supricingly fast! Will definetly visit again! the view from roof top terrace was also amazing everything was amazing

Nikolas is really helpful with everything, never felt uncomfortably myself during our stay. Breakfast , coffee and restaurant opportunities are about 1 min from hotel. -

• Simon (7/5): Mixed feelings - The location in the middle of the City. Smooth check in and out without problems. Was clean when we first got in. Quiet enough to sleep. Great roof terrace Very small Balcony. Bathroom looked completely diffrent in the pictures. It was very small and way less modern than on the pictures. There was just enough place to sit on the toilet. The floor wasn't cleaned during our stay. The toilet was not in good shape. Shower also very small. Not great vor big persons. A little bit expensive for what you get.

Nicolas is very gentle, he is helpfull, he gave us some advices, he also proposed us a bigger room as we had too much luggage with us, and at the end of our visit he gave us a gift souvenir.. thank you very much.. keep on .. I recommand Nicolas Rooms .. Nothing
• Emma (10/5): Exceptional - We were in Crete for 10 days from the 15th june. The location was perfect. We were in the heart of Chania old town overlooking a beautiful square. The room was spacious with a hot shower and a comfortable double bed. Nikolas couldn't do enough for us and everything he recommended to do, we did and wasn't disappointed. We will be back for sure. • Kateryna (8/5): Very good - Very central Nice and helpful owner Balcony was also pleasant to have I have no comments regarding the room, small but cosy place, everything was good. However, I’d like to add few words regarding the area. Location is very central - it’s the plus and the minus. I’m early sleeper (need to sleep before 11) but everything was so noisy - restaurants, people, kids shouting... Only after 1am street became quieter. But in case you sleep late and enjoy the night, you’ll for sure like the area.

• Day (10/5): Nikolas is VERY KIND. - Nikolas is exceptional! We arrived after midnight and he was here to greet us. We then extended our stay for 3 nights no problem! He provided us with exception recommendations for food where locals eat! The accommodations are very simple, which you can assume from the very affordable price. The location is worth significantly more than what the room rate is!

Super-kind host, very helpful, we arrived early, he met us to store our luggage and introduce what places are good to visit. Room was comfy, with generous supply of coffee, tea, even some sweet stuff for breakfast. Beautiful rooftop terrace. Can only recommend it. A bit loud in the night due to live performances just few meters away, but also great enetertainment and it would usually stop by 00-1 am.
