Guest Reviews
- Valerio (10/5): - Quarto amplo local aconchegante.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Lacking cleanliness, location great - Not the cleanest. Suppose to change towels every 3 days but they forgot. Common kitchenette to share but no basics provided. Table is stacked with objects, so don't count on using it. Messages all over walls telling you how to behave.
- Odete (4/5): - Not the cleanest. Suppose to change towels every 3 days but they forgot. Common kitchenette to share but no basics provided. Table is stacked with objects. Messages all over walls telling you how to behave.
- Fahmimun (2/5): - I cannot write review since the hotel property failed to provide me with check in instructions. They have no communication!!
- giorgim220 (2/5): everybody should know about this scammers.... - striktly do not recomended... this guys are tottal liers...
I booked a hotel room... of course I chose this room based on the location and photos...I was supposed to go now, on April 14th... I checked the conditions beforehand and however it turned out that the room has no balcony or window... also while booking the hotel I took a free taxi service, which the hotel administration denies.. .My money has already been transferred... rigt now i am waiting for beeking com customer service help... When I contacted the hotel administration they insulted me...
- giuseppe (8/5): - posizione tranquilla camera ok
- Katelyn (8/5): Dolce Vita:Great location, no-frills place to stay - Overall, it served its purpose. The lady who helped us check in was nice. However, unlike American B&Bs, they wanted an exact time for your arrival since they don’t also live in the building. Fonsj (part of the management) started texting and calling me about my arrival time a week in advance. The bathroom had some black mold and there was very little toilet paper available. The keys frequently got stuck in the door as well. The reason the rating was so high: the beds were comfortable and the room was certainly secure. The location was perfect for walking to tourist attractions. Not a typical B&B though, so if that’s what you’re looking for, I wouldn’t suggest it. If you’re looking for somewhere that you can park your car (street parking), visit a bunch of great attractions, and sleep, this place is a great fit. There is also a fridge that you can use in the common room. If you would like a fan for the summer heat, because the room is very warm, you may be able to ask for one in advance (I wish we had).
- AussieTravellers773 (2/5): Hot Hot Hot! - Wonderful location, so close to Rome attractions like the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and the Spanish Steps. Plenty of great restaurants close by. We walked to all mentioned. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working in any room within the apartment and it was incredibly hot and impossible to escape! Not much help from the building manager, so I would recommend you have it confirmed and in writing prior that the air conditioning has been repaired!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hotel very friendly people. The location is near all the attractions
- Verified traveler (6/5): - B&B carino.
- helensV8681TO (2/5): !! BUYERS BE AWARE !! - READ MY EXPERIENCE BEFORE YOU BOOK THIS PLACE!!
This place showcases certain types of rooms on their website, but when you get there, they decide to give you whatever room they wish. In our experience, the room they gave us was sub-par and was definitely not the room that we booked on their website.
The room we got was of a much lower quality - folding plastic chairs as an example. And upon arrival, we pointed out to the check-in person that this is not the room we had seen on their website or the one that we had booked and expected. Their response was that, they don't post photos of all room types on the website. The way they do business is to give you whatever room is available upon arrival. When we asked the check-in person for refund or exchange for the room we had booked, there was zero effort on their part to try to remediate the situation, and the attitude was you have to take what you get, and no refund.
We stayed there for the first night, and checked out the next day morning.
Their business practice is one of bait-and-switch, misleading, mispresentating, and unfriendly and poor guest services.
This is the one and only photo of the double-room from their website, based on which we made the booking.
And here are the photos of the rooms that they gave us upon arrival.
Lastly, their unhelpful response when handling the complaint.
We don't want anyone else to experience the mis-treatment that we had with La Dolce Vita Rome. Think twice, thrice before you book this place!
Oscura.
- angelinaa789 (10/5): Cosy hotel in the very center - This was a perfect staying in the middle of summer, the location of the hotel made it really unforgettable. You can find Piazza de Spagna in 7 minutes walking, miraculous Villa Borghese is even closer. The room itself is spacious enough, kitchenette is equipped with everything necessary for 3 people to have breakfast, supper or any other meal, bathroom is small but contains everything needed. Lucia, whose contact number you can find in the ad, is ready to help, she showed all the hospitality and helped in the process of visa application, we could always contact with her in case of necessity. We really found much more than expected.
- Steven A. (6/5): Older hotel, convenient, reasonable for the money - This older hotel is located in a convenient area near the old port and historic sites. However, it abuts on an area of the city in transition due to many immigrants from the Arabic-speaking countries. I would caution single women to be extra careful.
The staff was very nice, spoke adequate English, and the room was comfortable (with a 4-post bed!). A modern elevator and upgraded bathroom utilities and air conditioning were helpful. The breakfast was excellent. I WOULD stay here again.
- LenaGK (10/5): Hidden Gem - If you look for the hotel sign on the door you can easily miss it. Just don't miss the stay at this hotel.
It's a four room B&B in a building in Barberini Square in the heart of Rome. Rooms are good size and comfortable with modern bathrooms. You get breakfast vouchers to the cafe across the piazza. You can have your delicious breakfast and feel one of the locals who stop for their coffee on the way to work.
The hotel is walking distance or close to many important tourist attractions with the subway station just steps away. Hop-on/off buses also stop there.
There are dozens of great small restaurants around the piazza. We tried several and loved each of them.
You have to alert the hotel about your arrival time so that they come to meet you and settle you in your room. The staff is present in the morning and during checkout time. All front desk girls were real pleasure to deal with, very helpful and sweet.
The front of the building was under reconstruction during our stay and the hotel offered us the discounted room rate (without us even asking). Very nice of them.
- jamie992 (2/5): If i could sum up my experience in 1 word: Terrible! - If you want to be staying in a dead end room, no heating/no hot water, a bed that's clearly been damaged and tried to been repaired, get charged for checking in after 6PM ( no where is it written extra charges will be charged) rude owner, someone who threatens to throw you out if you don't pay the extra charge, dirty, full of rust everywhere, this is the place to be! If someone offered me this place for free, i would turn it down. Pay the extra 20-30euros/GBP and stay somewhere decent!
- Jochen (2/5): Staff is hostile - Was in touch with the host about check -in time. They were 45 minutes late and then took another 45 minutes to find our booking, the guy showing us our rooms was very rude and didn't speak English. The rooms were not too bad though the bathrooms were in bad shape and the common area was dirty and moldy. Complaining about the slow check -in, we got into an argument with the host who became increasingly hostile, so, trying avoid a physical fight, we left and stayed at a hotel, we did not get a refund. Not fun
- Tzavellas (2/5): Horrible experience - Nothing to like really, staff was there only for 10 minutes for check in and half the time he was speaking to someone on the phone while I was trying to get some information from the half English half Italian conversation. Room was nothing like the pictures they uploaded, the room was so small that we had to go over the bed to reach our luggage which were one in top of the other. For breakfast they forgot us the first day and we had to call a couple of times and wait in that little jail house room until late, and the second day it was half the amount, just one croissant 3 marmalades and a couple of biscuits for 2 persons. Not what you expect for 90 euro per day. Bathroom window was broken and had no ventilation, room's window had no access to sunlight so again jail time every time we entered our room. No no no... do not choose it even if it is for free
- Brian (6/5): Accommodation adequate - Good situation. Shower poorly designed and hard to clean properly. Bed cover needs replacing. Pretty grubby.
Otherwise good sized room which became our base over 6 days.
Breakfasts were basic. Packeted food and same each day. Ended up buying fresh produce from shop right next door rather than eat breakfast provided. Still a good experience though.
- Andrew (6/5): Nice location, cleanliness was problematic - This B&B was both beautiful and in an excellent location - both close to main tourist attractions as well as being comfortably away from the crowds. The staff were very nice and helpful but their poor english made communication complicated - in particular when the air conditioning leaked water over the floor and we needed towels to replace the ones we used to clean up the water. The room its self was pretty and a nice size with beautiful windows, but the washroom, although modern looking, had some mold in the shower as well as the ceiling above. Overall a nice place to stay while in rome, but the upkeep is not up to par with the price paid.
Riassumendo in poché frasi:
Check out à ....10h du matin !!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good room close to Villa Borghese - Nice room with air conditioning and ensuit bathroom. We arrived early but they let us in as the room was ready. Attentive personal.
- Trvlr 300 (6/5): Misled - no parking, extra 20 €/day - Selected this hotel from the search results of those that included free parking. Arrived to find there is no parking - free or otherwise. I was told to double park (illegally) until later in the evening when space would be available in a local garage for 20 €/day. Street parking, which was not available, was not free and there were time restrictions that would not work for anyone hoping to actually leave the car at the hotel to go visit Rome. Do not choose this hotel if you will be arriving with a vehicle.
The room was adequate and the A/C worked but the staff would turn off the A/C when they cleaned the room. Breakfast was coordinated for 9 am but they showed up with a tray at 8:30 am after they heard us awake (awake but not dressed and not ready for breakfast). Elevator was a plus, even if it was an antique. It was small but functional and beat carrying heavy suitcases up three flights of stairs.
Local bus routes are nearby making it easy to reach key points using public transportation but research or guidance is needed to understand the system and which bus/subway train to take.
Rigtig god og nem check in+check ud.
- Youjin (8/5): - It's nice . Near the borghese park but far from subway station.
- Marcelo (8/5): Great deal, but no parking! - The location of the place is great. A 15 minutes walk the the nearest metro station and to the train terminal. The place is clean, spacious and quiet. The problem is the check-in. There is no one at the place, when you ring, since it is a B&B. You have to call the owner at her cell (luckily, I had a cell). If you have a car, do not stay here. There is no parking. Parking is on the street, which is impossible to find and it is not free (only from 11pm to 8am, if you can find a spot). During the day is is 4 euro for 8 hours, again, if you can find a spot. Also, if you do find a spot, chances are someone has double parked you and you cannot get out until you find out who it belongs to (good luck with that). If you do not have a car, it is a great deal!
- 977mikee (8/5): I wish I could give a 3.5 - The location of this hotel is great, which is why I chose it. It is right next to (like 100 feet away) from the limited Rome metro, which includes the Termini station. Located near the hotel are many restaurants and a couple great attractions like the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Also a AS Roma store for soccer fans needing tickets.
What I liked: Extremely clean - probably the cleanest hotel I have ever seen at any price. Bed was acceptably comfortable. Elevator and AC. Super friendly staff. Good price. Decent breakfast at cafe across the piazza.
What I didn't like: Staff was rarely there, including my scheduled arrival which left me standing outside confused for 25 minutes. Walls are paper thin - heard noise from surrounding rooms all the time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A very nice B&B - This B&B was perfect for an inexpensive stay in Rome. Close to major sites, about 15 walk to Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Its about a half hour walk from the Colosseum but there is a bus stop that takes you right to that area easily. I would definitely stay here again. A great cafe on the corner too for a cappuccino and croissant :)
- Pieter (8/5): Leuk gelegen, relatief rustige buurt van Rome. - Goede communicatie met eigenaresse. Nette kamers.
- Mates123 (10/5): Lovely place and reasonable prices - Clean rooms and friendly and helpful staff who gave us some brilliant tips for local restaurant. Great location to Spanish steps, Vila Borghese and Temine Station. Breakfast was OK (prepacked croissant), but not a problem as too many lovely places to eat around.
- Charles (10/5): B&B La Dolce Vita - Pro: This is B&B but nice and clean. It had a nice delicious breakfast every morning at 8 AM. The owner, the young lady was very pleasant, spoke English and was very helpful. The room was clean.
Con: It's not a Hotel but a B&B and sometimes at night we heard kids crying because there were families with little kids living in the building. Couple night we heard people coming into the B&B probably drunk and making a lot of noise. A little far from the City. We walked a lot.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good, but room for improvements - Some of the furniture and especially the bathtub need replacement, they were old and uncomfortable to use. For instance there was an electric plug on the wall inside the bathtub, which seemed dangerous, although we used it for four days and we were fine.
Service was very good. We were given a map with useful tips to explore the city. Breakfast was fine, and served in the room at an agreed time. Wi-Fi was not very fast but did the work. The area was fine too, around 10 to 15 minutes from the city centre and the train station, and it seemed safe.
- victorj573 (10/5): Room and stay of good quality - My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights in this b&b and we were really pleased. The owner was nice and very helpful, she gave us some really good advices on where to go, where to eat, she answered all of our questions. The breakfast was good and a perfect start for a whole day of walking around. Near the subway and the train station.
Thank you,
Victor e Valentina
- Frederico (10/5): Excelente!!!!! A arrumação do quarto é impecável!
- mariamO7970QH (8/5): Very very good! - The accommodation was great, feeling like you are at home. Clean, very good breakfast and strong wifi. Closed to many restaurants, coffee shops, Barberini metro station villa Borghese and via Venetto. Lucia was so helpful and kind, thanks to her help we visit places we didn't even know! We spend three great days in Rome. Thank you.
- 2gabrielal (10/5): Amazing! - Great location, near the Termine station and great service with clean and beautiful rooms! I felt like I was at home! Has a breakfast that meets the combined and the owner treats their guests very well, I went with six friends and this was the opinion of everyone! Recommend to all who are visiting Rome!
- Thusy Mohan (10/5): Close to all must-see sights - When we arrived, it was in an apartment building. Elevator is kind of outdated and creepy, but that is irrelevant. Once we arrived, the lady immediately gave us a map and explained all the must-see places that were within walking distance and answered all our questions amazingly. (MUST TRY HER FAVOURITE GELATO PLACE - near hotel (5 min walk) --- to die for). Room is much better than the pictures showed but there was a spider near the single bed. Overall, one of my best stays.
