• Lisa (7/5): Relaxed and pleasant budget accomodation in the outer regions of Sri Lanka. - It was a relaxed atmosphere. Access to beach. Nice pool although chlorine was strong. Nice food. Brilliant sunsets. It was dated and with a little bit more effort it could be really special. A little more attention to detail on presentation. Communication was minimal. We had to ask everything, no information was given to us.

• melanie (8/5): Excellent - We have very much enjoyed ending our month in Sri Lanka at The Amagi Beach Hotel. It is in a very quiet neighbourhood, which is exactly what we wanted. The beach, pool, staff and food (prepared by Ruwun) have all been excellent and we haven’t wanted for anything. There was a slight problem with our booking which was address by the management and overcome quickly and agreeably. I would like to especially thank Malani and Thushan for looking after us. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend to friends and family. Nothing

• Joyal (1/5): Extremely Disappointing Stay - Avoid This Hotel! - I appreciate the security person. I recently stayed at this hotel and my experience was extremely disappointing. Despite the receptionist being okay and the security being good, everything else was far below acceptable standards.Firstly, the room was just normal, nothing special, and certainly not worth the rate they charged. The hotel service was terrible; no one even helped carry our bags. The room cleanliness was absolutely zero, with old, unclean water bottles provided.The service in the restaurant was appalling. There was a lady serving food whose cleanliness was non-existent and who lacked basic manners. In the morning, we left glasses and plates out and when we asked her to clear them, she rudely replied that she was busy. With low occupancy, such behavior is inexcusable. Furthermore, the prices were outrageous, charging ₹750 for a papaya!The overall service was abysmal. In the morning, the water flow was so slow it was difficult to take a bath, and the flusher was broken, making the bathroom situation terrible.This hotel is a complete disappointment, and I would never recommend it to anyone. Save your money and stay elsewhere!

• Ravindu (1/5): Worst hotel I ever had visited - Location is good. Some staff work hardly. Worst hotel I ever visited. I visited this hotel with my wife and daughter on 23rd May. I think there are another approximately 10 families and one foreigner stays in ths hotel at this moment. We had not electricity facility since 2.00Pm to 5.00Pm on 23rd. Now time is 7.30am on 24th May and I wrote this review when I stay in the hotel. Serious issue was we have no any water supply since 6.00pm on last day and all the guests are really struggling with their needs. At this moment electricity supply also not provided. (Dud to bad weather conditions, electricity power interrupted in this area. But they not using their generators also). So my advice is please think twice before you select this hotel. Really poor management.

• Branislav (10/5): excellent you must try it - location was as i thought it will be but the friendliness of people amazed me it was above my every expectations i recommended this place to everyone i would like them to offer local food at their menu, maybe it's just me but international menu i can have anywhere in the world and when i am at some exotic places i like to try local things

• Dilanga (7/5): Good - Location is great. Room is bit old but clean. Food ordered for dinner is very tasty. Can order your dinks as they have a bar. I made the booking through a last minute promotion for a lesser price. I felt like that the offered promotion is a mistake from the hotel because of that they did not pay more attention to me. (Since I am paying 50%). Portion of the breakfast is very less. Just 2 slice of bread, few fruits, omelet, 2 small sousages and a small cup of fruit drink. I am not sure whether this is the same for others...

• Gregory (6/5): Great that it was close to the beach - Arrived and the room was not presentable. The light switches were filthy. the bed frame was falling apart. Management quickly cleaned another room for me.

• Mikheil (2/5): Needs improvement - The hotel claims 3 stars but it’s not even close to 1 star hotel. Luckily checked in around 8pm and was extremely happy to check out first thing in the morning. Rooms – in a very poor condition and bathrooms are even worse (asked to change the room upon the check in since there was no TV in the first one). Towels where stained and there were ants in the bed. Lock on the bathroom door wasn’t working. Pool – looks nice on the web-site but water was murky and seemed that no one even cared about quality of water. Beach – one can’t really call it a beach. It’s tiny and not suitable for swimming. Travelled with the own car and drove 20 minutes towards Chilaw in order to find a suitable beach for swimming. Dining – No comments.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Pretty little hotel with some flaws - I stayed for two nights at this very pretty hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, but a few little things let down the overall experience a bit - the room wasn't as clean as it could have been, and although I wasn't really interested in watching TV, when I did flick on the tiny TV the one time I realised that the remote didn't work, and there was only really one channel that wasn't distorted. The internet works - at the lobby, and not in rooms. The food was good and the portions immense!
