His guided tour of the surrounding area, individualized for my tastes, added to the wonderful experience. Back at the hotel the staff was ever accommodating and genuinely friendly I highly recommend Rom Po for a memorable stay in Chiang Mai.
- NAOKO (8/5): 雰囲気と場所は良い。スタッフも良い。が、古い水回りは残念…。 - とにかく、場所がわかりやすく、色々と動きやすい。両替所が近くて便利。 お部屋は清潔で雰囲気も良い。入り口は大きい南京錠だが、これもしっかりしているので、問題なし。ただ、蚊はいるので、スプレーは必須。あと、水回りが古いのが気になる人は、ダメかなと。湯沸し器タイプシャワーで、どこをひねっても、最後まで少しぬるめのお湯しか出ませんでした。わたしが、わからなかっただけかもですが。 もう１つ、１番私が気になったのは、部屋に充満する匂いです。下水の匂いがします。そこが、残念でした。一階だけなのか、そこはわかりませんが。スタッフの人は、感じがいいですよ！

- Verified traveler (8/5): - We booked 3 rooms over the New Year period. It’s a simple hotel offering clean rooms with good bed linen. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the old city and we enjoyed the new year celebrations. The staff were helpful and we enjoyed the breakfast which is provided for an additional charge. The rooms have a wooden front so sounds from the street can easily be heard. I was awoken each morning by cockerels from Wat opposite.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Good value, if not for the rooster/washroom smell - Service was great. The front desk staff was very accommodating. The hotel even gave us a cake for my daughter's birthday! So sweet of them. For a budget hotel, I would say that the room was acceptable although the actual room was more run-down than those found on their website. The location was good. It's about a 7 walk to Tha Phae Gate or the Night Market. Made-to-order breakfast was sufficient. There are two major issues though. 1) The hotel is next to a temple which has roosters crowing at 5am for about half and hour everyday. You WILL hear it. 2) The washroom has a bad smell which is more pungent when you turn the water on.

- Yuen (10/5): Pleasant stay with recommended hotel staff - Stayed here for 3 nights in early of August. Early check in is not allow as the room is not ready. Situated just next to a temple. Walking distance to the night bazaar and local market. Breakfast menu is fixed everyday. The staff was very helpful when we asked for details for the local and patiently introduce the local tours to us and even offered us a breakfast box when got to know that we are going for local trip early in the morning. In addition, one of the staff even offered us the umbrellas when raining without we even ask for it. The room was clean and the water bottles is replenished everyday. The room look vintage and classic with wood flooring. The room surroundings is very quiet with a chair outside of the room. The only downside is the room soundproof is not very good as i can hear some noises from the next door. Other than this, everything about this hotel is good and recommended.

- Kenny (4/5): 位置在塔佩路3巷，環境寧靜，步行往舊城塔佩門，或往夜間市場都方便，酒店職員亦有禮貌。 - 我原本訂了兩個房間共4晚，晚上到埗後check in，酒店職員告訴我祗訂了1個房間，我於是出示文件，該職員看過後，再翻查記錄才說他們出錯，但表示祗剩1個房間，期後帶我們兩人到另一間殘舊酒店住了一晚，第二日才返回酒店住宿，懷疑酒店over booking。另房間有蚊，每日黃昏返回酒店都要拍蚊，相信是職員執拾房間時，打開房門讓蚊進入房間內。二樓房間浴室水力不足，地下房間無此問題。但酒店CP值，還算很高。對要求高的人不建議租住。
- sl (6/5): Nice hotel away from main road - Nice teak hotel within soi away from main road. Convenient location few mins walk to night market,ta pae gate, warorot market. Friendly staff. Cons are hot water very low pressure . Non sound proof walls can hear next door neighbours talking which can be irritating if noisy neighbours are louder than the TV.

- Salim (8/5): Chilled out stay at ChiangMai - The hotel was a beautiful wooden boutique hotel. The location was excellent as well. Unfortunately it was scorching hot and the aircon did not function fully well. Overall satisfied and good value for money.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Avis mitigé - Très bien situé, à cinq minutes à pieds de la Tha Phae Gate. Chambre : Très sombre, et le sol en béton ciré. De manière générale, propre (surement rénové récemment). Mais en ce qui me concerne la salle de bain c'est rédhibitoire ; douche spartiate et surtout une odeur d'égout insupportable malgré la ventillation allumée h24... Niveau acceuil : Receptionniste très sympatique, qui n'hésite pas à aiguiller (beaucoup trop souvent ?) concernant les visites et coin sympa. MAIS... bien entendu uniquement car celà lui rapporte de l'argent. En effet, il touche une commission sur toutes les activités proposées (hors de prix et non négociables) et force également un peu la main. Bien entendu toutes les excursions ne se valent pas (concernant leur interêt). Dernière chose qui m'a fortement déplu : la veille du départ, on demande au réceptionniste de nous appeler un taxi pour l'aéroport. Pas de soucis il nous dis que la limousine de l'aéroport c'est 280 bahts (alors qu'on avait payé 160 bahts le meme type de taxi quatre jours plus tôt). Ce à quoi il répond qu'il y a des frais pour venir nous chercher... Soit... Finalement le lendemain le taxi "officiel" de l'aéroport est en fait un pote à lui dans une voiture tout ce qu'il y a de plus normale et sans taxi-meter... Bref c'est un arnaqueur et n'hésitez pas à aller ailleurs et faire jouer la concurrence pour les excursions. Seul avantage de cet hotel : proximité du centre historique et pas cher...

- VAN (6/5): Female solo travel - Hotel was quaint and had some charm but bldg was very old. As other reviewers said, the bathroom smells like a sewer. Was ok at first but after the 2nd day it really starts to bother you. Front desk help limited to just telling you directions and how to get your own transportation. Overall hotel is fine for 2 days max and if you don't need a lot of amenities.

- Verified traveler (6/5): 鍵が南京錠で・・・。 - ターペー通りからも近くナイトバザールやターペー門まで徒歩圏内です。 部屋は２Ｆでしたが、扉の施錠が南京錠だったので使いにくかったです。 またタイのゲストハウスにありがちな部屋の窓が基本的に廊下側の作りなので、人通りを考えるとカーテンは開けるのを躊躇せざるえません。 部屋自体は可も無く不可も無くという感じです。 個人的には普通のホテルの部屋が良いかな。

- Verified traveler (6/5): Quick Stay - We arrived in Chiang Mai a day early and Rom Po had an vacancy. The room was sufficient for our stay. We had a few mosquitos hanging out with us in our room. Restaurant for breakfast was good and easy.

- Verified traveler (10/5): soundproofing need to improve......... - near Tae Phae Gate/Warorot Market/Night Baraar, it's good place to stay. the hotel is 2 floor wood-constructed, the soundproofing is so weak, I can hear the TV sound next to me, and also hear the moan at the midnight (lol).... if you don't mind to be heard by people next to you, this is recommend hotel you can choose. (PS. the water pressure at the shower is also weak....it takes me more time to shower.)
- Karen Ka Wing (8/5): Cheap Stay! - I have stayed 3 nights there, i like hotel is close to night market by walk even close to Pha Thae gate so no need to take taxi or sth, i even walked to riverside restaurants then back, only 1 thing that i may concern is Mosquito, quite lots in hotel area even few in room, if u are easy attract to mosquito, i would like to suggest buy "Citronella Spray" which is i bought in pharmacy (near pha thae gate), works very well and cheap, costs me no mosquito bite in whole trip. Overall i suggest to stay there, staffs all very nice, always hv big smile on their face.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 목조건물 특유의 편안함이 돋보이는 호텔 - 정말 아름답고 태국스러운^^ 호텔이었습니다. 타패게이트와 매우 가까워서 걸어서 구시가를 둘러볼 수 있고, 전형적인 호텔이 아닌 목조건물 특유의 편안함이 좋았습니다. 방이 넓은 편은 아니라서 두 사람의 트렁크를 펼쳐놓기엔 빠듯했지만 깨끗하고 관리가 잘 되어 있습니다. 욕실 벽이 유리로 되어 있고 커튼을 쳐야 하는데 커튼이 얇은 면이라서 다 비친다는 점과 수압이 약해 샤워하기 좀 불편했다는 점을 빼면 위치나 객실 상태, 직원의 서비스 등 나무랄 데가 없었습니다.
- Marty (8/5): Quiet and friendly hotel - The hotel is situated about 100 metres into a quiet soi (side street) opposite a temple. The rooms are compact, constructed of dark wood and concrete, making them functional rather than comfortable. There is, however, a reasonably sized, comfortable, cool, shaded dining area where you can sit, eat, drink, chat etc. Unusually, we ate in the hotel fairly often, with the food being good, and covering both thai and western dishes. The chef even made us a thai dish that was not on the menu.
- Peggy (10/5): Great hotel close to city center - This hotel is a steal! The rooms are very nice, with nice bathrooms, a tv, and large bed. The bed is a bit hard, but that's everywhere in Asia. The comforter and pillows were very comfy. The bathroom had a waterfall shower which was really nice. Oh! And air conditioning - key. The hotel was located within a 10 minute walk to the city center - night market, restaurants, shops, etc. It was a great location that was close enough to stuff, but also in a quieter area. Felt safe too. We never made it to the hotel cafe, but it looked really nice with outdoor seating. The hotel staff will also arrange tours for you if you'd like.

Not very attentive at breakfast, Sat waiting for 20 mins but when we got up to notify them we were there it was fast. great location. room very small. found contact lense left in "washed" cup. otherwise clean seeming room. Good room decoration, again, small.

- Catherine (4/5): - Although I booked to stay at Rompo more than a month in advance and placed my request for a double bed and higher floor. I was disappointed that upon check in, I was told my husband and I had a twin bed room and we had a corner ground floor room which is just next to the stairway up & entrance to the hotel. The staff was polite and apologise that they were running full house. It was useless to urge that we had placed our booking more than a month ago and that this was unacceptable, as I am aware language would be a problem. I was disappointed with the size of the room (>30 sqm). The saving grace is that Rompo has moved its front desk to the other end of the hotel which made the location where our room is quieter. Fortunately we were staying just for a night before moving to another hotel. May be that's the reason why we were in low priority for choice of room. I don't feel safe as the door locks are flimsy and there is no security especially when our room is on the ground floor close to the exit/entrance of the hotel.
