• Simone (10/5): - Awesome guest service. Very generous, kind and friendly reception managers. We had a chance for late check out and communication for check in with a door code was easy and fast. Refill of toilett paper, soap, towels, kitchen things etc was done without asking. Details well arranged and all you need, in the center, at the beach… what do you want more?! 🤗
• Jennifer (10/5): - Clean, but dated. Staff totally friendly! My unit didn’t have the best view, but I got a reasonable price. Here for Ironman and it’s very convenient. I’d stay here again if I ever came back!

Here are the pros and cons: Pros Location-right on the beach and easy walk to shops and restaurants Staff- front desk staff was extremely friendly Beach accessories- free use of beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, and coolers Cons Dirty-hair in the shower, wad of hair just outside the door(even after cleaning crew had been by), floor not swept (hair and sand stuck to our bare feet), floor not mopped (our bare feet turned black on the bottom so we wore shoes inside). Internet never worked- we let them Know but it was never addressed during our stay Tv worked the first night but not again. We let them know but it was not addressed. No soap in the shower. They did bring some the next day after we let them know. Dryer lint filter was probably never emptied. We cleaned it out as well as picked out most of the dryer lint heading into to vent tube. Serious fire hazard. Personally, I think they need to fire their cleaning company and find one that can pay attention to details. Would I stay there again? No I don’t think so.

• Samantha Nicole (10/5): - This property was amazing, especially for the price. It had a pool, hot tub, bbq area, AC, ocean view and everything we could want. Friendly staff and nearby there are lots of dining options and stores to buy food to prepare in the kitchen if desired. The condo was pretty clean except the sofa bed, when we pulled it out I had to sweep dirt or food off the bed before putting the bedding on for our son to sleep on it. Then had to sweep the ground under because of this. Otherwise everything else was nice and comfortable.
• Melissa Janelle (10/5): - Excellent and cozy Kona condo! We got to check in 4 hours early and they have everything you could need to play at the beach like boogie boards, coolers, chairs, snorkles ect. We would certainly come back and sat here again.
• Bernadette Francis (8/5): - They condo we had was nice. It was mostly quiet with an older crowd. The condo we were in was C3 which had a view of the pool and you could see the ocean, but unless you want to see people from your condo and they you I would suggest a higher floor. Otherwise the condom itself was accomadated with pots,pans,towels.etc. Close to the little town with several restaurants & souvenir shops. We would go back again but with a higher view of the ocean. Thanks!!

Bathroom had shampoo & conditioner, extra towels + blow dryer. Overall this was a great place to stay especially for the price.

• Larry (8/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly, the condo was roomy and cozy. The only reason I didn’t leave 5 stars is because the pool was having maintenance done 4 out of the 6 days we were there and we weren’t made aware prior. Also, the extra linens for the pull out bed were soiled. But having a washer and dryer in the condo it was an easy fix.
• ERIN MONTES (10/5): - My husband and I enjoyed the secure building, ample parking, the pool, and the beach next door with shops and restaurants just down the street. Leilani the property manager was attentive and friendly.

• Shannon M (10/5): - The room felt newly refreshed. There was easy access by a short staircase from the parking lot to the room. The bed and couch were a bit too hard for my taste, but that’s a personal preference. It was great having a washer/dryer in the unit and also to get a room clean halfway through which I was not expecting.
• Jennifer Marie (4/5): - I had reservations for an ocean view and ended up with and ocean view of the pool. The sliding door to the pool did not have a lock to it so maintenance placed a longer stick to block it from opening, making it unsafe. The bedroom had a safe to the room but maintenance could not fix it, so we had to keep our personal belongings with us at all times. The one thing I found very uncomfortable through out my stay was I was getting mosquitoes bites all over my legs. Then on the 4th day of our stay of my husband and I a notice was given 3 days before my vacation ended that a notice of pest control treatment would be done the last day of my vacation. Overall this establishment somewhat provided the needs of my husband & I were looking for which was the kitchen and air condition but overall I wouldn’t stay here again.
• Christine (8/5): - The room was clean and well stocked with kitchen accessories, bath and pool towels. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was a good stay with shopping and grocery near by.
• Sehid (2/5): - I booked this room for 9 days, when we showed up there is makeup on all of the pillows, when I took off the pillow cases they were brown and yellow. The place is very old, furniture is terrible such as the sofa having a horrendous smell. As well, the first night check is the speed bar we spent it was almost unbearable to how many mosquitoes and some flys there were. Another great thing about this place is that they don’t communicate that you need to WRITE your OWN parking pass instead of them doing it for you they leave 50 cutouts in your room to do it yourself. Last thing I needed was my rental getting towed out of this junky place for something they should do.

• Kimberly (8/5): - Really loved the location and especially the pool that overlooked the ocean. It was nice that it was never busy with loud kids/people and was pretty mellow. The room we stayed in, however, was a bit run down and kind of smelled like it was cleaned with a dirty sponge and the floor looked like it was never washed, based on my socks turning black after walking around on it. Also wasn’t a fan of the centipede’s crawling on my bed and floor. I wouldn’t recommend staying on the ground level. On the positive, all of the staff was amazing and attentive. Great customer service and welcoming. (Even after my complaints 😬) I’d consider staying here again in the future.

• Carrie (10/5): - The pool was so nice and relaxing. Both ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Great that we had washer and dryer as well as toiletries in the bathroom. Dishwasher soap and all the other kitchen ware was super too. I will be telling people who travel to Kona, to stay at Kona Reef.
• Mila (10/5): - We got a room facing the ocean and it was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. We enjoyed watching the sunset from our balcony while the surfers were right outside on the waves.
• Philip (8/5): - The location was great and had a very nice pool/hot tub for evening relaxation. We used the grills several times and they were always very clean. The kitchen was reasonably stocked with pots/pans/utensils. The kitchen faucet was not in the best shape, but not a big deal at all. Overall, we really enjoyed it there. If we needed something, Leilani was quick to respond and very helpful!

• Julie (8/5): - Property was fine. Pool was great. Our fan didn’t work and we were told it would be fixed the 1st day and it never was. The WiFi and cable continuously went off and on. The view was awesome at sunset and the permanent residents were very nice. Overall it was a good stay.

We have an evening flight and they were very accommodating about doing a late checkout. Condo could use a little updating but then again, we were looking at budget & not top of the line accomodations. Will definitely consider coming to this resort again if we ever return to Hawaii.

• Jared (10/5): - The pool and hot tub are perfect when the beach doesn’t work out. However there is a little beach located right next to the property that doesn’t seem too busy most of the time. The only thing is that there isn’t a whole lot of necessity items in the unit itself. There is no seasoning or PAM or condiments or ziploc bags and very little cooking utensils and pots/pans. But the overall cleanliness and comfort was fantastic! It was a little tight for 4 people (2 adults and 2 teens) but not bad if you aren’t planning on staying inside a lot during your trip. Overall this is a fantastic place to stay!
• Sheri Lynn (10/5): - Close to beach, shops and restaurants. However, depending what room you get the WiFi or cell phone does not work (SOS) well in some parts of the room. But… it’s ok who wants to be disturbed while in Hawaii!

• Sonja (2/5): - We booked an ocean view room. We even called to confirm.Imagine the disappointment when our room was in the back corner of the property and our view was a rock wall. We had no windows. A slider went out to the patio which house a huge ac unit. It was noisy and hot.Curtains were hanging off rods which were broken. We could not utilize the sofa sleeper because there was no privacy. Also safety was a concern due to unhoused sleeping in the adjacent lot. All I wanted was to sit on my deck have my morning coffee and watch the sunrise, a cocktail in the evening to watch the sun set. The unit was filled with mismatched furniture and the TV didn't work. All in all a very disappointing stay.
• Tamara (2/5): - B1 - This room was absolutely FILTHY!! There was dirt on the curtains, half of the hooks were missing and the curtains drooped. There was greasy dirt on the fan blades. All the walls were wavy with water damaged, and the fridge was gross. There were bugs crawling out of the ceiling in the bathroom shower. Because we checked in very late, there were no other options to move to that night, we barley slept (with the lights on) for the fear of bugs crawling out of the wood work. We will never recommend this location to stay at.

• Debora S (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at Kona Reef. We lucked out and had a third floor unit with an amazing view (there are a few units without a good view) that made it for us. Quiet, clean, and the staff was very friendly and responsive.

No coffee service at front desk, that was disappointing, small pot in room that wasn’t kept stocked, no creamer either. Had to go to a restaurant out front for breakfast and it was very expensive.
• James (8/5): Great but…. - The unit we stayed in was owned by the leasing company. It’s pretty basic but functional. Our only complaints are: 1. The floor was not clean. I took my shoes off when we first checked in and within 2 minutes my feet were black on the bottom. I suspect it had not been mopped in a long time. 2. The WiFi while present and free had a max download speed of 5mps. Slower than dial up I think. Essentially the WiFi was useless and the front desk didn’t do anything about it. I missed three days of work as a result. Other than this, the property was great considering the price I paid.

• Carmen (2/5): - Awful place to stay, the door to the washer and dryer fell off and hit my fiancé’s shoulder and head. The floors had white dirt or powder of some sort, the kitchen cabinets had no knobs. The internet did not work, the fridge was leaning to one side and the couch smelled of urine. When I asked to changed rooms, the owner never called back and the front desk couldn’t reach them. We had to check out the next morning because the conditions were terrible. They never refunded us our money back. It’s a terrible place, their photos are completely deceitful. Never stay here!
• Nina (8/5): - The location was excellent, being conveniently close to shops and restaurants. The room was pleasant, although new linens and a curtain would be a nice improvement. Overall, it was a lovely complex.
• Priya (6/5): - The property was located close to shops and easily accessible by uber and Lyft There was no one in the office when we reached the property. We tried calling and no one sneered the phone. A cleaner lady came out and helped us by finding the housekeeping lady who finally let us into the condo. Apparently the receptionist was sick so the place was unattended The condo was average for the cost we paid. We cdnt geg to work the hot water first but the chap came n fixed it.

• Rajeshwar (8/5): - Loved our stay here at kona reef! I was on floor 1 and could see ocean. My only reason for 4 rating is because I was right next to pool as well, felt not so much privacy but other than that this is a great facility.

Location was great and close to everything. The parking garage was a big plus and made coming in and out very easy. Beautiful view and grounds around the property. I would like to know how to request an oven view in the future.

Otherwise the kitchen was nice, there was plenty of space, I loved having the balcony to relax on, and the washer and dryer were a huge bonus.
• Melissa (6/5): - This property was overall okay but disappointed with being put in a corner drab spot near the beach with homeless people walking by. The room was very clean but did not have any traditional condo offerings such as a beach towel or chairs. Also disappointed that they stuffed a few coffee filters in an old used zip lock. Curtains were stained and looked dingy.I Had to pay an addition fee that was not mentioned in my booking apon arrival and if I had know that I would of booked somewhere else. Staff in the office were very nice.
• JANAE (8/5): Good enough stay - The resort and rooms are just as pictured but are a little dated.Our unit was on the side of the public beach and on the bottom floor so it wasnt comfortable sitting on the patio. We only had a couple of other issues. The air conditioner leaked and there was a leak on the patio that made a standing pool of water, so we were unable to enjoy the patio because of that and the people right outside the patio door. Any rooms up higher or on the other side or in the middle would be great.

• Anthony (2/5): - Beware of unit B1. Severe water damage in the unit. I honestly can't believe they would rent a unit in this horrible of condition. The paint on the walls were sagging from the water damage. There was a hole in the wall in the closet and the whole unit smelled strongly of mildew. Went to the office to ask for a new unit but was told there were no other units available. Oh and there was also cracks in the tile in the bathtub and a sugar ant infestation. By far the worst room i have ever stayed in it truly feels like a health hazard to be in this unit. I would not stay in this unit if it were offered for free. I really can't believe i had to pay for this nightmare

• Ronald (8/5): - I vacationed with my 3 adult children and this 1 bed condo with pull out sofa was more than enough room for us. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and public beach from the balcony and it was an easy walk to the local shops. Free outdoor or garage parking included was a big plus. Check in was a bit stressful since I forgot to email in advance as instructed but we arrived before the office closed and got the directions for entry to the unit and the pool key so it all worked out!

The pool was nice - access to beach. Pool key didn't work on all gates - the parking levels are nice and all the people at the property we talked to were nice and helpful from double checking our reservation to checking out. 9/10 would stay there again

• michael (10/5): - We enjoyed a 9 night stay at the Kona Reef Resort and had the best stay! The property is beautiful and very clean! The rooms were very updated, spacious, and clean. The property is very well maintained and has an awesome pool, hot tub, and grill area with 4 gas grills to use all overlooking the ocean a d plenty of onsite parking. The units have all the necessary amenities for any length of stay including a full kitchen, washer and dryer, maid service with fresh towels and toiletries thoughout our stay and a beautiful Lani to sit on overlooking the ocean. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. You cant beat the view and all of this while being within walking distance of dozens of many great shops and restaurants.
• Emma R (8/5): - Pool area and grill were a nice touch also right on the ocean! Communication wasn’t the best texted the phone number provided and got no reply. A little outdated but it’s pretty good for what you get!
• Samantha (8/5): - I would give a full 5 stars however, I was told if I needed anything to just text the number back that gave the room code. When I did no one answered. Then I went to the office and stood outside for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come back. The location was great though and overall enjoyed my stay.
• Rowena (4/5): Comfortable - E3 is a nice unit, next to the pool. The tv needs updating. You are expected to remove your own trash and the early 10am check out is strictly enforced. Be aware that the unit is minimally stocked: no condiments.

• Grace Sookyung (10/5): - My family and I really enjoyed the stay at Kona Reef. The room we stayed had everything we needed including the best ocean view ever! When you go out to the balcoy, the ocean is right in front of you. The place is walkable distance from the main shopping/dining area. The staff was kind and accommodating. We had a full kitchen, washer and dryer in the room. They had plenty of parking, too. I definitely would come back and stay at Kona Reef again.
