• Emanuela (9/5): Ottimo per staccare dalla routine - Hotel un po' datato nell' arredamento ma pulitissimo dotato di tutti i confort, bagno e camera spaziosi, letto enorme ed un bel balcone con vista mare e prima piscina molto apprezzato.C era poi una seconda e grande piscina a sbalzo sull' oceano spettacolare poco sotto l hotel.Ottima la colazione dove a mio parere offriva molto sia dolce che salato.Posizione leggermente decentrata dalla città di Funchal ma comunque solo 15 - 20 a piedi con una piacevole passeggiata sul mare o a lato di uno splendido parco.L isola verdeggiante e vivace è veramente andata oltre le mie aspettative. Dell' hotel praticamente nulla.E l isola è consigliatissima

• Marita (7/5): Wir hatten einen angenehmen Aufenthalt und waren zum Blumenfest angereist. Sehr zu empfehlen :) - Frühstück war sehr gut, Personal im Frühstücksraum, an der Rezeption und auch der Zimmerservice sehr zuvorkommend. Besonders gut hat uns die Lage, gefallen sehr zentral zum Hafen und zur Altstadt. Sehr hellhörig, Nachts laute heimkehrende Gäste.

Tendo por base as fotos disponíveis no booking, reservámos um quarto, para três noites, no Hotel Quinta da Penha de França, sito em Rua Imperatriz D. Amelia , 85, Sé, 9000-018 Funchal, Portugal. Uma vez aí chegados, felizmente na companhia de amigos Madeirenses, disseram-nos que o nosso quarto não era ali, mas sim no dado da piscina. Perguntámos o que era o lado da piscina e onde. Fomos então encaminhados para outro hotel, o Penha de França Mar, numa outra morada.... Aí chegados, continuámos a afirmar que o quarto que reservámos não era ali, mas sem efeito... Deram-nos o quarto n.º 106, no piso 0, sem qualquer tipo de vista, com um muro na varanda que dava para uma piscina... O quarto era grande, mas jamais um quarto de hotel de 4 estrelas! Casa de banho antiga, ainda com banheira e com umum autoclismo que numa primeira fase parecia não funcionar e quando reclamámos foi-nos dito que tinhamos que carregar três vezes para funcionar e assim foi... Quarto sem qualquer decoração, móveis velhos, roupeiro a precisar urgentemente de reparação/substituição, sofás com nódoas, uma trave para trancar a porta de acesso à varanda... No último dia até chovia na sala do pequeno almoço! Reclamámos verbalmente e disseram-nos que o superior hierárquico só estaria na segunda feira, mas nunca ninguém nos contactou! Obviamente que nos sentimos enganados!

• Adrian (6/5): Für eine Nacht in Ordnung. - Die Lage war top (in ca 10 Minuten), Pool am Meer, sehr freundliches Personal. Kostenloser Parkplatz. Einrichtung im Zimmer sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Kleiner Fernseher, alte Möbel. Wasserdruck in der Dusche sehr schlecht. Betten und Kissen für unseren Geschmack nur „okay“. Für den Preis würden wir hier nicht nochmals übernachten.
• Tamara (6/5): Good hotel, great location, minor improvements needed! - Great view from the junior suite, looking at the ocean and pool, including a very nice large balcony. The hotel is at a good location, next to the pier so a quick stroll down the promenade to the center of Funchal. The breakfast was good, with an omelette station and a big ham to cut. Many cheeses and fresh fruits as well. The room was clean! The restaurant had weird hours, on Friday night a DJ was playing super loudly until 11pm (this is right below the suite so super loud), and yet on Sundays they don't do dinner service at all and instead have a half menu of burgers and sandwiches. The pool could have been a bit warmer but made it work. The coffee wasn't the best at breakfast. The furniture and overall hotel seemed a bit dated and overall in need of upgrade. Not to be more modern, just less worn. There is a second entrance and reception to the junior suite which can be confusing, think they should have explained that in the booking so we can order a cab to the right location.

• Lavinia (10/5): A good choice for value and location. - As I had informed the hotel, my flight arrived hours before check-in time and I did not expect my room to be ready, but they had prepared my room even at that early morning time! The staff was very helpful and polite. The room was large, comfortable, and everything worked perfectly. Walking was easy from the hotel, around the harbor, the old town, a nice park, and all of downtown were readily accessible on foot. The breakfast buffet was good. I can't think of anything I didn't like.

You can hear all the other guests doors slam and footsteps. - Lina was really helpful and went out of her way to move us to a different room after we had originally been put in an awful dark room right next to the noisy road. Hotel is dated but fine and in a good location. If you're a deep sleeper you might have a lovely experience there. Breakfast: not amazing quality but they give you lots of options. There is no soundproofing so from your room you can hear doors slamming and footsteps in the hallways and stairs throughout the night. I didn't sleep at ALL in the whole three nights we were there and that was even after moving rooms. Lina was really lovely, however the man that checked us in didn't smile once and wasn't very helpful or friendly. Booking.Com charged us extra for a parking spot. There is a car park but no secure parking spot so Booking.Com should not be charing extra for this when the same service is offered to all guests.

• LF (9/5): Très agréable séjour malgré le froid du mois de mai. Personnel au Top - Chambre grande confortable. Petit déjeuner commun à ce genre d'établissement. Ni plus ni moins Personnel parlant français et tres agréable. En plus près de nombreux restaurants (y compris 2 à l'établissement) Acces direct à la marina et à la route de la plage. Grande Piscine (mais il faisait 15° ! alors, on l'a vu de loin !!! 2 choses et qui peuvent être embêtante : grande salle de bain, mais juxtaposée au WC .... SANS séparation fermée, alors qu'ils pourraient mettre un rideau pliant ou une porte battante ou une autre. Toujours dans la salle de bain : pas de fermeture à clé. Le 2eme point assez mesquin : je suis resté ( nuit à 162 € la nuit) et il a fallu que je mette "1 euro" pour peser ma valise ! Autre petit détail, l'ascenseur. A la monté, reste au 3eme étage. A pied pour aller au 4eme (pas gênant, sauf pour des personnes ayant du mal à monter à pied) Style un peu vieillot mais ça a son charme... Sinon RAS

Les jardins et le bâtiment historique qui donnent l'impression d'être à la campagne. Une certaine tranquilité. Chambres très inégales. Sur 3 nuits différentes, une super, une moyenne, une pas terrible du tout. Organisation à revoir pour les petits déjeuners à emporter.

• Christine (10/5): - Le site de cet hôtel est incroyable avec un jardin en pleine ville. Nous avons occupé une chambre originale qui donne directement dans les espaces verts. Le petit déjeuner buffet est très complet et nous avons pu nous installer sur une table en terrasse. Le parking sur place est vraiment un élément de confort qui permet de rentrer à toute heure. Je reviendrais volontiers dans cet hôtel plein de charme.

Hotel de charme, mais aurait besoin d'une rénovation. Chambre vieillotte , idem salle de bain...Ménage de la chambre rapide ...les oreillés sont restés au sol où nous les avions posés la veille.

• Beatrice (7/5): Für unseren Kurzaufenthalt total in Ordnung. - Gute Lage, freundliches Personal, schöne Pools, direkt am Meer. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zum Garten, welcher auf dem Weg zum Restaurant und Frühstücksraum liegt. Viele Gäste laufen da vorbei und sehen direkt ins Zimmer. Bei offenem Fenster also direkter Zugang. Das Hotel daneben hat eine Rooftop Bar, es war ziemlich laut bis 23 Uhr. Die Zimmer mit Meerblick liegen viel besser.
• patricia (8/5): Très bel hôtel, superbement situé en front de mer, mais politique de la Direction à revoir, - Cet établissement a 2 hôtels, dont l'un en front de mer où nous y avons passé 3 nuits. Idéalement situé, chambre spacieuse avec vue mer et piscine. Petit-déjeuner bon et copieux. Les personnes de l'accueil aimables et à votre écoute ! La politique de la direction a voulu nous surtaxer pour passer notre 3ème nuit dans la même chambre, suite à un malentendu au niveau de la réservation. Il a fallu se mettre en colère pour rester sans frais supplémentaires dans ce même établissement scindé en 2 hôtels. De plus, le personnel du Bar fait payer 5€ un gros sac de glaçons et refuse de nous en donner gracieusement 4 ou 5 pour les boissons du mini-bar pas du tout fraîches... LAMENTABLE pour ce genre d'hôtel !

• Manustra (10/5): - Ein sehr schönes Hotel mit toller Lage. Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, wir hatten eine schöne bepflanzt Terrasse die ebenfalls groß war. Das Frühstück war gut und das Personal immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt und wir würden jederzeit wieder in dieses Hotel kommen.
• Friederike (8/5): Älteres Hotel in bester Lage mit besonders freundlichen Rezeptionisten! - Lage besonders gut- aber ich war im Hotel Penha de Franca Mar obwohl Quinta da Penha de Franca von booking. com gebucht war! Schwesterhotel, direkt am Meer, aber andere Adresse! Daher Probleme mit Taxi. Wurden aber freundlichst gelöst! Einrichtung eher älter !

На ресепшене нас встретили как домой, очень тепло, предложили все удобства гостинницы до и после выезда. Комната огромная, большая удобная кровать . Идеальный отдых.

Great location for access into Funchal and views over the harbour. Proximity to a number of very good restaurants within easy walking distance. Nothing significant.

Rivus restaurant for lunch sitting on the terrace was great. Being kicked out of the pool area at 6pm when the evening was still lovely & warm.

• Sharon (7/5): Buena ubicación, vistas bonitas en hotel humilde - El hotel está muy bien ubicado, a minutos andando del puerto. (Si tienes que embarcar en un crucero es ideal). Nos alojamos en Penha de França Mar, que es el edificio que está frente al mar. Las vistas son imposibles de mejorar ya que las habitaciones dan al mar. El servicio es bueno, en recepción son amables y ayudan en todo lo posible. El restaurante donde dan el desayuno está frente a la piscina y al mar, y el desayuno es aceptable y tienen un pan muy rico. Por otro lado, las instalaciones dejan mucho que desear, ya que necesita una renovación general urgente, tanto en las habitaciones como en el edificio. Las ventanas, el AC, los baños están en estado original (mínimo 30 años). La decoración está muy anticuada y en estado crítico para el estándar general de un hotel de 4*. El colchón está bien, pero las almohadas necesitan cambiarse, estuvimos dos noches, y nos fuimos los dos con dolor de cuello(aunque pedimos otras almohadas y nos las dieron sin problema, son del mismo tamaño que un papel). Tuvimos la mala suerte que habían obras en el edificio de al lado, y hubo mucho ruido durante todo el día, buscábamos un hotel para relajarnos y la verdad que no pudo ser. Además que ni las habitaciones ni las ventanas son insonorizadas. El servicio en el restaurante es un poco decepcionante, no son especialmente amables aunque tampoco hubo ningún inconveniente. Las otras comidas (no el desayuno), considero que los precios son muy elevados para la calidad que ofrecen.

Unfortunately the rooms and outdoor areas are dated. - The location is quite good - on sea front and flat walk to town The poolside area is really uncomfortable and poorly designed. The sunbeds are very old and uncomfortable meaning people cannot spend time there. There are far too many beds laid in rows but a nice gazebo on one side with chairs and tables, sofas would be appreciated.

Alles abgewohnt und feucht. Das Frühstück hat mich auch nicht begeistert, deshalb auch praktisch nichts gegessen.
