Guest Reviews
- 781elizabethj (10/5): Wondeful owners; clean, cozy rustic cabin like lodge - We really enjoyed our weekend stay! The location on the lake was beautiful and you just needed to cross over the bridge & you were in downtown Rice Lake within minutes. This is not your typical lodge/hotel; the rustic & cabin decor gave a cozy vibe. The couple who own & run the lodge are wondeful people- they make you feel welcome. The rooms are clean, the lodge well run and we would recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area.
- sherry (5/5): We only stayed 2 nights but it was expensive for the services you receive - pretty poor For what you pay there could be some updates done to the property
- Neumayer (10/5): -
- Lomunchi (8/5): Pretty nice for a few days or a launching point - We rented a small room at this site. We were just feet from the lake which is what we wanted. The view wasn't perfect since it's a little industrial across the lake but the leaves were turning and it was a nice view out the window. We were there off season so for breakfast we only had some scones and 'cuties', which was find. It was a nice quiet launch point for some nice touring of the area. Even though it had kayaks, canoes and paddle boats free for guests and a playround for kids, grills etc available but I don't think this is an all week resort sort of place. A few days would be fine, though.

- 690gregw (10/5): Best place to stay in Rice Lake area!!! - Weekend in Rice Lake. First time staying at Curriers Lakeview Lodge. It was amazing!!! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Room was cozy and exceptional view of Rice Lake from our window and balcony. Breakfast scones (homemade), fruit, and coffee (organic fair trade) and tea was better than any continental breakfast at other chain motels. Campfire by the lake. We will stay there every time we come to Rice Lake!
- G4949QXsusana (10/5): Peaceful tranquility. - The location was close to restaurants and our event for the weekend. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly. It was excellent to be on the water, which created an atmosphere of serenity. I would recommend this lodge over any hotel. It was great to wake up to coffee and I valued that they offered a scone and fruit when asked.
- PiperGuy (10/5): What a treat! Worth the experience! - Veteran owned. We had the Bay Room #20. Kitchen and separate sleeping quarters. Gorgeous views and sunsets. Fire pit. Kayaks. Pontoon available to rent. Children's play area. Nice set up that takes you back to a simple time. Friendly hosts and staff. 3 TV 's in our unit. Couch folded out to a bed as well. Really loved it. Definitely go back again. Get away. Relax. Chill some Wiscons brews and enjoy!
- SusanA444 (10/5): Lovely weekend, but credit Mother Nature too. - It’s not really a lodge, per se, but a nice motel. As close as possible to the lake, and every room has a lake view for the sunset. Paddle boat use included, pontoons to rent. Nice sized lake, not noisy, even on a holiday weekend. Looks recently updated.
We were fortunate to have perfect weather!
- Susan (10/5): - It looks recently updated. Couldn’t get any closer to the lake, and every room has a lake view for the sunset. Rooms close to each other, but all the other guests were nice and quiet. Good beach nearby.
- Robert (5/5): Never again. - The beds were too close together for my disabled brother who needs to use his walker to get up out of bed. His struggles made the stay a bad one. Same as above.
- jwcarlson55 (10/5): Not happy with the low, small toilet, hard for old people to use - Very nice room, clean, nice deck with great view of lake. Managers very friendly and helpful. Great grounds with lots of sports equipment to use, great fire pit and nice swimming area
- Y265GLstephanieb (10/5): Relax and Unwind - We decided to stay at Currier Lakeview Lodge to break up our 11 hour road trip. It turned out to be perfect for our family of 4. Each room has a little bit different decor. Very clean and plenty of room with a patio that opens up to the lake. There’s a small swimming area, bonfire pit area, park, grills, fishing poles, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. included with the stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The scones in the morning were a perfect treat and the weather was perfect! Highly recommend - we couldn’t help but relax and unwind for the evening!
- laurievF2298XU (10/5): Quaint place with beautiful lake views - We really enjoyed our 2 night stay, the room was clean and quaint and walking out the back door and having the lake right there with comfortable seating was great! The views were amazing and the staff was very friendly.
- GrandTour14567607950 (10/5): Great for large family gatherings - Location great, right on the Lake but close to town. Swimming, kayaking and playground for kids. Fishing and Pontoon boat. Something for everyone with 21 people getting together ranging from 3 to 97 year old. Great deck to gather and fire pit area. Easy to grill and make your own food. All staff were great and very helpful.
- Amalia (10/5): -
- Margaret (9/5): Very enjoyable experience. - The lodge and location was beautiful and was a great place to end our trip. It was a beautiful evening so we spent it at a table outside, enjoying the view and the company. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We'd go back. The kids loved the playground and we felt safe with them running around over there. Very enjoyable experience! My husband did the booking and was expecting a bigger room with more of a kitchenette in it. We did like the room overall.
- Erin (8/5): - I loved that it's right on the water with a ton of docks, a cool firepit and several grills. Sitting on the deck is so peaceful watching the fishing boats and birds. The free coffee, tea and the amazing scones are such a special treat.
The only thing is we had a spider in our bed, and there is literally nowhere to put any toiletries in the bathroom. A small shelf added to each bathroom would be ideal.
- mjlouie (10/5): LOVE CURRIERS LAKEVIEW LODGE! - We all just love is CUTE, QUAINT, VERY CLEAN little resort in the heart of Rice Lake WI. We have stayed here a few times and would not stay anywhere else. We come to Rice Lake to Side X Side on the trails in Birchwood area which is not too far away. The trails are great too!!
- Froseth (5/5): Passable -
- S1390DFjennifert (10/5): April 2025 - Very accommodating when there was a snafu with my Expedia booking. Enjoyed our stay. Kitchen was well stocked and the room was clean. Our room faced the lake a (as all the rooms do , I believe) and I can see how summers are beautiful with the lake so close.
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional -
- kristink533 (10/5): Charming Lodge on Rice Lake - This is an amazing little lodge! We called at the last minute and they had a room for us. We got the "Antique Room". Charming and true to it's name. Antique dresser, aqua refrigerator/freezer, aqua microwave (these weren't antique but fit the decor), quilted bedcovers, old lamps, antique telephone on the dresser, oodles of things to look at. It was quaint and very charming! AND very, very clean! I would recommend to any traveler!!! Thanks!
- mjthompson910 (10/5): Thoughtful staff!! - Spent a quiet night at the Currier Lodge recently. The room was warm and cozy, and the shower had copious hot water. We had a delicious scone for breakfast!
I received a call within an hour after we left; they found a sweater I accidentally forgot. Getting the call was greatly appreciated, but then the employee offered to mail it to me! Outstanding thoughtfulness. Thank you!
- R3454ALcraigk (10/5): Overnight business trip - I was here on business and enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, updated and comfortable. It was nice having the lake view and the area was very quiet. It was also very close to downtown Rice Lake which offers nice restaurants.
- JinGermantown (10/5): Quaint and Cozy! - In Rice Lake for an event so this wasn't a vacation destination for us, but a place to spend the night for a quick visit.
This log cabin feeling lodge is located on the lake, in the woods and gives off a relaxing vibe. No frills but provides essential needs. Friendly accommodating staff, coffee and scones (the best ever from a local bakery) in the morning in a little breakfast galley type kitchen area that's great for grab and go, clean room with comfortable beds and a great view of the lake.
Good location with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, parks nearby.
Less expensive than the basic 2-3 star hotels with pools in the area and has a more personal feel.
We were there in March, the dead of winter, so I can't comment on a summer stay although it looks like it would be nice right on the lake steps from the rooms. The view of the lake is peaceful and serene however being there in the winter the piers were pulled up on the shore right outside of the rooms so that was the view! Not a complaint, just a fact.
I'd recommend a stay here and would certainly choose this place over other hotels in the area.
- Jen (10/5): Other than the no sleep it was a nice place - It was a cute little n lodge in a nice area. We stayed in room 2 and had the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in. You rolled to the middle of the bed where there was dip. We are not large people either. Other than that it’s a beautiful lodge.
- Judi (10/5): Welcoming place to stay. - My family and friends came up for the American Birkebeiner ski race. We were unable to get into our usual place so thought we would try this place. It’s a very clean hotel with comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We liked it so much we decided to stay again next year.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Very easy to find. Has really nice view. Has a great staff.
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional -
- 549tammis (10/5): Christmas shopping! - Couriers Lakeview Lodge is a peaceful, quiet, extremely welcoming, and comfortable Lodge! The staff is so kind and helpful, and I could bring my dog for the night! Winston loved the treats and warm bed to sleep on, and I love that this is a PET-FRIENDLY Lodge! The Scones are delightfully tasty in the morning and the Badger Brewery Coffee is the BEST!
- Pamela (10/5): Beautiful view, great place. - We took a few days before a conference, for a break and it was perfect. Our room had a sweet name like Songbird or something like, and was decorated appropriately. ---A small improvement in the bathroom could be a hook or 2 for hanging a toiltry kit or something. No biggee, but it would help.
- GeoCompass (10/5): Definitely want to return here!! Great choice! - This has to be the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed! It made me feel healthy, safe and comfortable. The view from our room and patio was stunning with the beautiful lake and fall colors close enough to touch. The lodge employees were very kind! We’re definitely planning to return. We recommend wholeheartedly for a relaxing getaway! Thank you Missy, Sean and staff!
- Darla (10/5): - We absolutely loved this place. Can’t wait to return
- tom (10/5): - great outdoor activities
- wendylovesgreyhounds (10/5): A lovely place to stay! - Serene setting, quiet, immaculately clean, beautiful decks to while away the afternoon. Owner was helpful with recommendations. The resort was easy to find and has a lovely setting on the lake. Very quiet and enjoyable stay! I would highly recommend!
- John (10/5): Relaxing! - Great amenities! Caring & helpful staff!
- randymM755NN (8/5): Nice place - Clean room, friendly service, beautiful views. Lots of activities available. Near town. Only problem was that they charged $3 per day to make coffee in room. They give you the first packet of coffee free, but then you pay $3 for every other packet.
- Nicole (9/5): Superb -
- Cheryl (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay, lovely view and cozy cabin feeling. The rooms were very clean, I gave it one less star due to the fact there was a yellow stain on the floor / carpet and I was concerned it would go against us in our check-out. It did not so they have it noted. Everything was lovely and I really enjoyed my Vaca away from home with my husband. we liked the convenience of having our own little kitchen to cook so we did not have to go dine out every night. The bed was very comfortable as well.
- Sandra (10/5): Wonderful adventure stop for my summer journey - The views over the lake are excellent!! Sunset was the best!! They had everything you needed or wanted from wood for a fire in the fire pit and the sticks in case you brought marshmallows or hotdogs.
Kayaks, canoe, boards for our use. They didn’t clean the room, with garbage removal or fresh towels. Guess I should have asked.
- X1790SYbarbarar (10/5): Rice Lake Stay - A beautiful place to stay on Rice Lake. Breakfast consists of complementary scones , coffee and a tangerine and eating while overlooking the lake is heaven. currierslakeview lodge is spotless with pontoons to rent, paddle boats and kayaks. We stay in one of their dog friendly rooms and love it! The staff is warm and professional .
- Pamela (9/5): Superb -
- Pamela (10/5): - A beautiful, peaceful stay, with very friendly staff.
- Peter (9/5): We will stay there again. - It was clean and quiet!
- Dianne (10/5): Beautiful, fun & clean with a great location! - Well kept, clean, great location
- billandsusiee (10/5): Peace on the Lake - Very friendly and accommodating. Comfortable beds and great coffee and scones in the morning. Wake up right on the lake, the setting is beautiful and peaceful. We will go again. Rice Lake was also a fun town with several nearby golf courses.
- Marcia (10/5): Great. We plan on returning - Beautiful cabin like feel with modern amenities on a picturesque lake side view. No complaints
- debras44 (10/5): Close to town, beautiful lake. - Beautiful spot on the lake. Rustic charm of a north woods fishing cabin. Can rent pontoon boats, they have lots of kayaks and good fishing. Scones and coffee from the local bakery in the morning provided. Nice lace to sit on the porch and look at the lake, bench on the dock too. Playground for the kids.
- Vera (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikolas (10/5): - The property isn’t the newest but it is SO BEAUTIFUL! We got in super late and only stayed one night as we were traveling, but the room has a back porch overlooking the lake and it is very rustic and homey. The room we had was small but very quaint and perfect for me and my husband. We will definitely be back!!
- Travis (9/5): Superb -
- kiddywhompus (8/5): Old family cabin feel...... - Stayed here in the winter for the Birkebeiner. Bottom line, this is not a fancy chain, and definitely has its quirks (bathroom door wouldn't close all the way and we would use the trash can to hold it closed), but that is something we find endearing and look for with our hotel stays. The lodge is an old lodge and keeps that feel of a family cabin. It is cozy, has a fully equipped kitchen, and lots of room. The lodge is on the lake, and would love to see it during the summer. It is quiet and relaxing, but right next to downtown Rice Lake for restaurants and supplies. They offer a simple grab and go breakfast, with scones, fruit, juice and a full coffee/ tea bar. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for the Northern Wisconsin experience.
- Rachel (10/5): - Rooms are unique and comfortable, staff was fantastic
- Trip141544 (10/5): Curries is like being at home. - Curriers is a wonderful place to stay. Such a peaceful setting. The bed was so comfortable, and the hosts were so friendly, and always asked if we needed anything. Convenient to get to town and to visit relatives. We will stay there every time we visit Wisconsin.
- Tracy (10/5): - Super cute and nice location
- Jenna (10/5): - Fantastic!
- 239gailf (10/5): Always a memorable visit- thanks Curriers Lakeview Lodge in Rice Lake. - We love the Rice Lake waterfront location plus their Northern Wisconsin decor for each room.
Their hospitality is amazing. The front desk is very helpful with local information.
We make an annual trip to Rice Lake and always look forward to our stay at Curriers Lakeview Lodge.
- Jim (8/5): Very good -
- Sherpa48977864324 (10/5): Super great experience! - Very cute room, comfy bed, very clean, access to a deck with a great view of the lake.
Delicious complimentary coffee and scones in the morning.
We will be back!!
Also the price was very reasonable and the Fall colors were spectacular!
- Ters590 (8/5): Beautiful fall weekend on lake - My husband and I stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. The room was equipped with needed supplies and was clean. The beds are very comfortable but a little high for short people.
They don’t have cleaning staff but can go to office for any supplies. They have a little area near office for coffee, teas etc. the ice machine is very small and we needed to buy ice for our drinks. No breakfast but they do have scones and a orange when asked. It would be nice to have some packets of oatmeal or something else.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will stay again
- Tricia (10/5): - Beautiful and peaceful. I loved that every room has their own theme. Will definitely book again
- 933janes (10/5): Healing place by the lake - This is my special place to get away from the crazy .. Peace of mind and tranquil environment essential to healing body and soul. The view from the upper deck was perfect and I had the pleasure of watching a great blue heron in flight one early morning ... The folks that run the lodge treat you like a good friend and not like some overnight guest. I had a great time visiting with Janette and also found the other guests there friendly but not intrusive. This is the perfect "jumping off place" for day trips to the state parks (Pattison, Amnicon and Copper Falls come to mind) .
- J9474JJpaulas (10/5): Thank goodness we didn't stay at the Holiday Inn! - Curriers Lakeview Lodge was a great find on our trip north! We picked it out of the hotel magazine we picked up at a rest stop and were so glad we did. We stayed in the Loons Lair. Loved the view! We sat in the swing outside our room until it started raining. The room was very clean and sheets and towels were very nice. Delicious scones in the morning. Next time, this will be a destination, not just a stop over!
- Teresa (10/5): - We loved Currier’s for our Labor Day holiday. It is close to the Twin Cities, clean, comfy, and dog friendly. The free kayaks, paddle boards, and other boats are an added bonus! We hope to make our visit an annual thing!
- Gary (6/5): - NEGATIVES: Too expensive for what was provided. Room decor very dated. Bathroom had no surface area (shelf?) for toiletries. Bed uncomfortable. No substantial lighting at night to utilize peep hole. Would not return unless room rate significantly reduced. Screaming children in lakes just outside door. Walls paper thin. Not handicap friendly. POSITIVES: Good location. Pleasant staff. Refrigerator. Convenient parking.
- Lynne (7/5): The view and setting are wonderful ! - The view is amazing!! The one bedroom rooms A are quite small. We saw the name lodge and expected a lodge and small cabins.
- Samantha (8/5): Fun for families - Loved the use of kayaks and waterworks available
Loved the balconies and patios on the property
The pond where you enter the lake on kayaks was so beautiful and had a ton of wildlife.
Room was a good size loved having a fridge and microwave The water in the cabin was really gross, couldn't even brush your teeth without gagging, but I am used to city water which is not so minerally.
They kept all the lights on at the entire lodge so you couldn't enjoy sitting out at night looking at the stars or all the fireflies in the swamp.
- Lisa (10/5): - The back door of our room opened into the patio right by the lake. Nice view of the sunset from the patio! We also enjoyed using the kayaks a couple of times during our stay. They have coffee and scones for breakfast, which was fine for us, but could have a few more options.
- Lillian (10/5): It was very relaxing and enjoyable. - The staff was friendly, there was laundry facilities on site and room was clean. I will definitely visit again.
- Nguyen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bruce (10/5): - Great value. Right on the lake.
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was understanding and responsive
- John (2/5): - I can't evaluate this hotel because I could not make it as scheduled. The plan for the person I was to visit in the hospital changed and we did not make the 4 hour trip. The policy is "no cancellations" so I knew I was losing my money. Several days before i had called to be certain they were "pet friendly" as it says on the website, but you can't get through to a phone or real person. Everything has to go through Expedia and good luck with that. Customer service should be a goal here. Everyone got their money from this and it wasn't me.
- Jim (10/5): - Nice
- Castañeda (9/5): Superb -
- Janelle (10/5): - Quaint, unique and a beautiful view
- Laura (10/5): - Everyone is so polite and helpful. Love the hotel and cant wait to come again.
- Mary (10/5): A lovely place right on a lake - The lodge is rustic looking and as we got a couple inches of snow which since we are not used to having cars covered the people in the office showed our driver how to do it as he wanted to do it himself
My room was decorated with song birds and all the rooms had different themes
- Neil (10/5): - Wonderful lakeside lodge! Super friendly staff, and good amenities for the price!
- Suzanne (10/5): - We like every thing they had to offer. Clean and friendly staff
- Christine (8/5): great facility. Love the north woods decor and vibe. super nice staff and great amenities included in the room rate. - Location is great…lodge is off the road. and every room has lake view. Coffee and hot water for tea ready to go in the morning…just head down with your cup and grab a scone. The fire pit with swing chairs was great setup. Gas grills were available around the property but it rained our weekend. All manual boats were included and a decent fleet of kayaks canoes and pedal boats available for use on the lake. We didn’t get out because of weather, but would be fun lake for paddling…local Loons, lots of fish and great sunset view. Mattress was a bit broken in. Didn’t keep me up but maybe new Mattress next season.
- Anonymous (5/5): it’s a nice place with a friendly staff but the room was very small and it wasn’t a queen bed - friendly staff and a nice property room was very small. they advertised a queen bed but it was smaller
- Tracie (7/5): Our stay was great and hosts are very accommodating. - Great spot directly on the lake with rooms (we rented 7 near each other) and patio space for our family of 15. Enjoyed large campfire area and plenty of dock space to fish and do boating activities. Bathrooms are a bit cramped, and damp smelling, floors above are squeaky but part of the “cabin” experience. Dishes stained and could use some upgrading.
- Heather (10/5): - Great stay!
- Kerry (10/5): - Very clean and quaint setting on the lake. A great playground and available paddle boats for guests. Cute pastries and fruit offered in the morning as well as locally sourced coffee. Loved the friendly staff and the clean, convenient property. The kitchenette and provided cookware and dishware was an excellent bonus.
- Richard (10/5): - The Lodge furnishings were Lovely, and the surroundings were extraordinary! We stayed for 3 nights and had our pick of canoes and boats…. It was windy, but we took advantage of the great chairs and docks and decks, and had a marvelous time~. Both Cathy and Missy, who gave us our amazing scones and oranges, along with really pleasant conversations, were so helpful and fun and kind! We also had nice conversations with Shawn, the owner and Austin, who works most evenings! We had a Terrific experience!!
- Robert (8/5): - That it was on the lake and had a nice deck from which to look at the water.
- heather (10/5): - Off the beaten path, yet close to everything.
Freshly remodeled cabins with private entrances and walk out to dock and lake.
Kayaks, canoes, SUP’s, paddle boats, and BBQ grills onsite.
Friendly staff. Bonfire pit with free pre cut wood.
Bikes would be the only other thing this place needs!
Loved our stay!
- Alexandr (10/5): - Friendly stuff , nice place, all good.
- Charles (10/5): - We had a lovely stay over the Christmas holiday. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and inviting. Looking forward to a summer stay!
- Kathie (10/5): - Great place to stay. Enjoyed our one night here
- Jean Jacques (8/5): - Great location at lake. Very nice staff.
- Don (10/5): - Enjoyed the lake front and cabin feel.
- Derek (10/5): Better than we expected - This was a last minute decision for us. We really did not know what to expect when we got there. The lodge is extremely pet/dog friendly and the facility was actually nicer than what it appeared in the pictures. The owners seem to be doing a significant amount of work to update and maintain the property. The staff was friendly and responsive. Free use of any of the numerous gas grills, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, fire pit. We have a very good weekend. The rooms seemed to be recently remodeled and in beautiful shape. The beds were comfortable as well. Our room had a kitchenette, which made it very nice for preparing meals throughout the weekend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great views, quiet, pet friendly. Well-maintained, friendly staff. Many excellent dining spots, very close.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Lakeview was beautiful, However for the price of the room and the quality of it was not worth the cost the staff was good however again you guys need to upgrade your rooms a crate and wrong and the bad sucked
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Curriers Lakeview Lodge was a fantastic find, thank you!! We had everything we needed on the grounds beautiful views, great sitting areas with fire pits, paddle boards, boats ,kayaks, you could rent a pan toon too
Tasty scones in the morning were available in the office for all the guests.
This has become one of my favorite places 💜
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really enjoyed our songbird themed room which was a welcomed surprise. Comfortable bedding with plenty of pillows. Delicious coffee and complimentary scones from a local bakery in the morning. The views and lake access would have been ideal had it not been cold and rainy. All staff were very friendly and accomodating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is a lovely getaway. The lake is right out your door, they provide free water toys to play with, grills, and a fire pit. Much more relaxed than some other northern getaways and still lots to do.
